The air force chief of staff confirmed that the first batch of the 66 long-awaited F-16V fighter jets purchased from the US are scheduled to have test flights this month. All 66 jets were due to be delivered next year.

00:08Washington agreed to sell 66 of the planes to Taipei for $8 billion in 2019, originally all scheduled to arrive here by the end of next year.
00:18Although that deadline is unlikely, military officials say 54 of them are currently in production.
00:24Previously, the manufacturer Lockheed Martin said it was working hard to speed up the delayed deliveries.
