00:00It wouldn't be the Academy Awards without a few shockers in store and this one came
00:12in the form of a surprise performance. Eminem surprised the Oscar crowd on Sunday night
00:17with an unexpected yet epic performance of his hit Lose Yourself from his film 8 Mile.
00:23Ahead of the performance, Lin-Manuel Miranda highlighted the importance of songs featured
00:27in film, noting soundtrack hits such as Moon River and Danger Zone. The intro was followed
00:32by a montage of memorable cinematic song moments that ended with the beginning notes
00:36of Eminem's hit track. The crowd seemed equally confused and excited to see the rapper
00:40on stage and everyone from Billie Eilish to Idina Menzel and Anthony Ramos were seen
00:45singing along in the audience during the performance. The track, as it turns out, won
00:49Eminem Best Original Song at the Oscars back in 2003.
