Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro announced that the country’s coffee industry has grown to 250,000 hectares despite years of US sanctions and economic pressure. Speaking at an event honoring coffee producers, Maduro said, “Sanctions, threats, blockades, economic war…Venezuelans did not cower. Everyone put on their boots and went to work.” Venezuela’s coffee exports now reach Latin America, the Caribbean, Asia, Europe, and the United States. Maduro also unveiled the new Coffee University (UNICAFE) to boost scientific and technical knowledge in coffee production. #maduro #US #venezuela #apt
