00:00Thanks to one of his famous lines in Indiana Jones, Harrison Ford has long been linked to snakes, and now that link will be official.
00:12A group of researchers discovered a new type of snake in Peru and actually named the species after the actor.
00:19The species is described as a type of camouflaged slender snake that is pale yellowish-brown with scattered black blotches and measures 16 inches long.
00:28Per researchers, they named the snake after Ford to honor his decades-long environmental advocacy.
00:34But this isn't the first time the actor's name has been linked to a species.
00:38Ford also inspired the name of an ant and a spider.
00:41The actor said,
00:42In all seriousness, this discovery is humbling.
00:56It's a reminder that there's still so much to learn about our wild world.
