00:00A large amount of the stuff that I got to do was with Carrie, which was amazing.
00:05This episode of The Hollywood Reporter News is brought to you by American Airlines,
00:09Hollywood's favorite airline. Oscar Isaac and Carrie Fisher have scenes together in
00:13Star Wars The Last Jedi, and at least one of them sounds pretty painful. For Isaac's
00:18Poe Dameron, that is. When the actor stopped by The Late Show with Stephen
00:21Colbert on Thursday, he talked about his admiration for the late Fisher and
00:25discussed some of their time together on what would be her final Star Wars film.
00:28He recalled a story about their first day of shooting,
00:31I remember it was a scene where I come up and talk with Carrie and she is very upset
00:35with me and slaps me, and Rian Johnson, the director, kept doing it over and over.
00:40But Johnson didn't make them do it just four or five times.
00:43I think it ended up being like 27 takes of Carrie just leaning in and every time she'd
00:49hit like a different spot in my face.
00:51Isaac also shared a funny anecdote about how he tried to keep his Force Awakens
00:55script, which he was supposed to return after the movie wrapped. He told Colbert he
00:59finally sent it back when Disney mentioned the lawyers were looking for it.
01:03But he revealed he did receive a special leather-bound copy of the script when the
01:07film came out. For Oscar Isaac's full interview on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert,
