00:00So over here you can see that I have a sample table data and the data has been managed as per
00:10the category right here. So let's say for each of the category that I have I want a subtotal.
00:16So for that make sure that the category is sorted out first. So let's say for example if you have
00:22your electronics at the bottom then it won't work well. So if you want it to be sorted out first you
00:27can simply select it and then go around over here onto data and then go around over here onto sort
00:34and sort it out by category first. Once that is done you can go ahead and select all of these out
00:40and then under the data tab itself you can simply go to subtotal. Once you do that you can choose
00:46what you want to make the subtotal out of. In my case I want to make it out of category so I'm
00:53simply going to select category. Here you can see that the use of function is sum. You can even
00:58count them out, average them out or max them out right here and use other functions as well. But
01:05we want to create a subtotal so I'm simply going to go ahead and select sum right here. Once I do that
01:11I can go ahead and add the subtotal to the total column right here just like this and I want to
01:16add in the summary below data this does not actually change. So if I were to press ok now you can actually
01:22see like the subtotal has been created. Let me just go ahead and click and drag this out and you can
01:27see the electronics total right here. You can see the general total right here and you see the
01:32stationary total as well. Let me also go around over here and add in let's say for example the table to
01:39this and this is what you have. You can even go ahead and then minimize it right here just like this
01:45and expand it out as you like as well. And that is simply how you can go ahead and add in subtotals
01:51as you wish automatically inside of Microsoft Excel. And you can see that it's added the
01:58formula right here just like this as well. So if I were to actually go ahead and make changes right
02:05here let's say for example then you can see that it simply changes out the subtotal and the total right
02:11here just like this as well. So that is how you can go ahead and add out subtotals inside of
02:17Microsoft Excel. So hope you found this video useful. Be sure to hit the like button. Don't
02:23forget to share this out with your friends and family. And for more contents like these do follow
