00:00The frontman of the band Crazy Town, Seth Binzer, who was known to fans as Shifty Shellshock, died on Monday.
00:05He was 49 years old.
00:08According to the Los Angeles Medical Examiner's Office, Binzer died at a residence in Los Angeles.
00:13No cause of death has been released, and an investigation is underway as to the cause and manner of his death.
00:17Crazy Town was formed in 1999 by Binzer and Brett Epic Mazur.
00:21The duo who had been performing as the Brimstone Sluggers changed their name
00:25when they brought additional musicians on board to round out the band.
00:28Success came quickly for the group thanks to the song Butterfly off their debut album The Gift of Game.
00:33Butterfly quickly rose to number one on the charts and helped the band sell 1.5 million copies of their first album.
00:43Crazy Town broke up in 2003.
00:46However, Binzer found a bit of success outside of the band when he collaborated with British producer Paul Oakenfold,
00:52contributing vocals to the hit 2002 single Starry-Eyed Surprise.
00:58Crazy Town reunited in 2007 and released three songs in 2009.
01:06Occasional single releases followed, and the band released an album called The Brimstone Sluggers in 2015,

01:14In 2016, they toured with other 2000s bands on the Make America Rock Again Tour.
01:19Mazur left the band in 2017.
01:21Binzer had spoken about his struggles with drug addiction and appeared on VH1's Celebrity Rehab 1 and 2.
