00:00Does one person stand out as, like, the secret, surprise, funniest person?
00:06I think it was Marshawn.
00:08I think it just came as the most surprising.
00:11I mean, it wasn't surprising. We knew he was funny.
00:13But he just really can, like, whip out the improv.
00:16And he's, like, dropped in in character as well.
00:19Also, my runner-up for that would be Summer.
00:23I was about to say that.
00:30I think we're all just really happy to get to, like, be here together and celebrate this thing that we get to made.
00:37And it feels really lucky and nice that people are responding to it.
00:41I think that, like, Wet Hot American Summer was a North Star for us in terms of the absurdity
00:46and letting ourselves be free creatively to just write ridiculousness.
00:50So that we tried to pull from a lot. Bring It On was a big one.
00:54That movie, like, walks a really fine line of being grounded and caring about the characters,
00:58but also being, like, completely stupid and ridiculous.
01:01Scott Pilgrim for the action sequences and for the hero story of it all.
01:07Menacing any?
01:08No, I feel like that's good. There's a lot.
01:09There's a lot.
01:10But it's, like, pulling from different places and combining kind of for that campy tone,
01:14but also with that action and fun.
01:17For me, it was funny.
01:19I think people maybe, like, met me in The Bear and so know me from, like, doing dramatic stuff.
01:26But I started as a comedian. I know these guys do comedy and write comedy.
01:30So I think especially as, like, a young black woman, like, just getting to do stuff that's just straight-up funny
01:36is, like, just a dream.
01:39And the script was, like, really stupid, complimentary.
01:44And I was like, I can't wait to just get to do something funny and dumb.
01:48Like, that to me is, like, that's radical.
01:52I think it was my idea to have some sort of fighting element.
01:55Or, like, action.
01:56Or, like, action.
01:57I was like, maybe they're superheroes.
01:59And then we just brainstormed for a long time and settled on Fight Club.
02:03Fight Club.
02:04Yeah.
02:05After a long brainstorm whiteboard sesh.
02:07Yeah.
02:08Bottoms ended up in my lap and I was like, this crazy bitch is mine.
02:11And I think also, just honestly, there's nothing—it wasn't that there was anything that made me say yes.
02:17It was that there was nothing that would make me say no.
02:19I read the script and immediately fell in love with it.
02:22And there was just so much joy and specificity in their writing.
02:26And then coming to set, just their ability to create this environment where we were so free to play and experiment
02:33and just have a good time.
02:35There's so much joy in making that.
02:36And I think that comes through in the film.
02:38To this day, I haven't told you specifically, but, like, to this day, I haven't read a script that I've liked more.
02:43Like, genuinely, there's—it's the funniest, most fun, most different script I feel like I've ever read and worked with.
02:51And I just—I was so honored that you guys let me be a part of it.
02:55It's such a special, special movie.
