00:00Because we're on a team and I know you got what it takes. You're a star and I know it.
00:03That's why I'm here. I'm your cheerleader, Honey Boy.
00:06Shia LaBeouf is opening up about his childhood in his new film, Honey Boy.
00:11Amazon Studios released the first trailer for the film, which was written by the
00:14actor and is based on LaBeouf's own experiences of growing up in Hollywood.
00:18Honey Boy, due out in theaters November 8th, tells the story of Otis Lort from his
00:22childhood to early adulthood as he navigates the different stages of his frantic acting career.
00:27LaBeouf stars as a fictionalized version of his father, who in the film is an ex-rodeo clown and felon.
00:32The film also delves into the father-son relationship as Otis attempts to reconcile with him throughout the film.
00:37Noah Joop and Lucas Hedges share the role of Otis throughout the film in the different stages of his life.
00:42The film also stars FKA Twigs, Micah Monroe and Natasha Lyonne. LaBeouf previously opened up about
00:48writing the semi-autobiographical script as part of a rehabilitation program during the film's
00:53premiere at the Sundance Film Festival in January.
00:56This whole thing felt very selfish. I never went into this thinking,
00:59oh, I'm going to f***ing help people. That wasn't my goal. I was falling apart.
01:03Speaking on the filming process, LaBeouf said it was difficult.
01:06It was a very difficult movie to make because there is nowhere to go. You're just in it.
