Based on LaBeouf's own experiences of growing up in Hollywood, 'Honey Boy' tells the story of Otis Lort from his childhood to early adulthood as he navigates the different stages of his frenetic acting career.

00:06Shia LaBeouf is opening up about his childhood in his new film, Honey Boy.
00:11Amazon Studios released the first trailer for the film, which was written by the
00:14actor and is based on LaBeouf's own experiences of growing up in Hollywood.
00:18Honey Boy, due out in theaters November 8th, tells the story of Otis Lort from his
00:22childhood to early adulthood as he navigates the different stages of his frantic acting career.
00:27LaBeouf stars as a fictionalized version of his father, who in the film is an ex-rodeo clown and felon.
00:32The film also delves into the father-son relationship as Otis attempts to reconcile with him throughout the film.
00:37Noah Joop and Lucas Hedges share the role of Otis throughout the film in the different stages of his life.
00:42The film also stars FKA Twigs, Micah Monroe and Natasha Lyonne. LaBeouf previously opened up about
00:48writing the semi-autobiographical script as part of a rehabilitation program during the film's
00:53premiere at the Sundance Film Festival in January.
00:56This whole thing felt very selfish. I never went into this thinking,
00:59oh, I'm going to f***ing help people. That wasn't my goal. I was falling apart.
01:03Speaking on the filming process, LaBeouf said it was difficult.
01:06It was a very difficult movie to make because there is nowhere to go. You're just in it.
