Sammi Hanratty talks to THR on the red carpet for the Emmys 2023 and shares her thoughts on 'Yellowjackets' season 2 cliffhanger ending and what she hopes for her character in season 3.
00:00Huge cliffhanger endings at the end of last season for both the younger cast and the older cast.
00:04When you read about the cabin burning down, what was your reaction?
00:08I'm screwed. I'm screwed because now I'm going to be so dirty.
00:12That's all I keep thinking about is how filthy we're going to get because now we have no shelter at all.
00:17So I'm going to be cold and I'm going to be dirty and now we have nowhere to wash off our blood.
00:23So it's just we're going to be gross. We're going to be gross.
00:26Have you seen any scripts for season three yet?
00:28Not a single one. I am so anxiously waiting. You have no idea.
00:32But I have a million ideas in my head of where things are going to go.
00:35I feel like the way that I've thought about it is like the first year is just this chaotic mess.
00:40Second year was like almost this like creepy stillness of winter.
00:44And now it's like the defrosting. It's like the meltdown. Right.
00:47You know, it's like we might be entering into another season and like, you know, I'm thinking possibly spring.
00:53So it's like, yeah, the snow will melt and our messes will be shown.
00:58That's what I'm thinking. But, you know, what we'll see what happens.
01:03What's something you'd love to see happen for your character?
01:05Oh, there's so much I want to see for Misty. I would love this.
01:09I'm so curious on what happened to Crystal. I'm so big on that storyline.
01:12So I would love to see kind of where that goes. I also would love like there has to be something with Misty and Ben finding out that he did that after she saved him.
01:23And like, you know, this, I don't know. I feel like she's got some something in store for him.
01:29I could be wrong, but it would be fun to see that.
01:31And I would love if Crystal somehow survived. She didn't. Let's be real.
01:35But in my head, somehow Crystal's alive. Where's her body? Where's her body? I don't know.
01:41It disappeared. But I love seeing that you and the actress who plays Crystal are besties in real life and walk the red carpet together.
01:47Yes. New hot literally was with me while I got ready today.
01:50She held my hand through it all. She'll be coming with me to the Disney after party tonight.
01:54She's like one of my besties. I love her so much. And honestly, so much of this season was her and I's season together.
02:02And all most most of my stuff was with her. And so it was really important to bring her to these things because she should be celebrated just as much.
02:09And I love her so much. And honestly, our all of our recurring cast should I wish they could all be here right now.
02:15And Nia and Alexa and Maya and Jenna. I love you guys so much.

02:20The Emmys are celebrating 75 years of TV history tonight.
02:23Now, you were on TV growing up. But what's a show that you loved growing up that made you really love television?
02:29Oh, my gosh. There are so, so many. I mean, of course, I was like a Disney kid, you know, like I loved Disney so much.
02:37I really did. Like That's So Raven, like was just my everything, you know, that I got to be a part of it, which was amazing.
02:43But I think I really got to be a part of some of my favorite shows like Pushing Daisies, I think, was one of the most interesting shows of its time.
02:50I loved Dexter. Showtime show is really crazy and scary and fun and interesting.
02:56And I like shows that make me think and that confuse me.
03:00And I love Pretty Little Liars, too, growing up. Let's be real.
03:02I was a Gleek and I was a PLL girl, you know, but I love it all.
03:06But speaking of confusing, intriguing shows, that's Yellow Jackets. And we can't wait to see the new season.
