00:30Well the vets were baffled but after scans and x-rays cost me 300 pounds it became clear that all wasn't as it seemed.

00:46Russell first of all what happened to you, how did you break your ankle?
00:49Um, hopefully he was on a little walker, a meter high, and I went to jump down and then my foot got stuck at the top and twisted the ankle out of it and snapped it.

01:03So, how soon did you notice after you've been obviously fixed up?
01:09No, not Ellie.

01:13TJ's and mise-scene was, um, was, um, lipping as well that he would appear to have hurt himself.
01:19Well, it was also the next day as I was living round the house, umm, she was on the stage, sort of ook
01:21covering him with really and then, 125 V zitten and we'd quite have heard a time whose Robin' his foot.
01:33And probably we'domb u&vett?
01:35Which was the next day we went to the vets.
01:39They go to the vets and obviously they do all their normal investigations, I mean this is quite a hefty bill for part of the vet. What did they find?
01:46Nothing. Because of social distancing I was de-vaulted, normally, for the young doctor.
01:56Then when they came out they said they couldn't find anything with it.
02:00That was a shot of us coming home from the vets and then again, started thinking.
02:06So, Michelle told me to send that, look at this, we can send it to my mum, because there's social distancing.
02:14He's by the side of you now and that was where he sort of blew him by walking normally into the vets, having lived there with you.
02:23Yes.
02:24So, Michelle, you got really suspicious when Russell was away and Billy was like this in the garden.

02:36And this is the dog when Russell's not around.

02:52And so, the video, this is all happening last, this happened last June.
02:59And the video, you posted it only recently on the Bircher owner Facebook group.
03:05And that's when it went viral.
03:07And people don't understand that this all happened last June.
03:10They're now offering advice as to how to fix the dog's ball when the dog is the biggest bum artist that we've spoken to in some time.

03:18I'd like to say, this is in August now, swimming and jumping around into the river and stuff.
03:27So, people are saying, how's your fur?
03:30Ah, the thing is, they say con artist, there's something quite special, isn't there, that a dog that has that much empathy for a completely different species, a human, that he decides to kind of limp alongside you.
