Dan Schneider says he has no problem censoring the Nickelodeon shows he created in the 1990s and 2000s that now may offend viewers, but The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed that he hasn't reached out to the network about that, yet. Following the two-night docuseries 'Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV,' which probed toxic environment claims on sets run by Schneider, the former TV producer released an apology video. In it, he addressed how some of the lines that he wrote for his shows are now being criticized for allegedly sexualizing young actors.

00:26Every one of those jokes was written for a kid audience because kids thought they were funny
00:32and only funny, okay? He continued, now we have some adults looking back at them 20 years later
00:38through their lens, and they're saying I don't think that's appropriate for a kid's show.
00:42If that's how anyone feels, let's cut those jokes out of the show, just like I would have done 20
00:49years ago or 25 years ago. I cut it. Representatives for Nickelodeon, which parted ways with Schneider
00:54and his production company Schneider's Bakery in 2018, declined to comment to THR when asked about
00:59his call to cut out any offending jokes from classic series. But THR has confirmed Schneider
01:03has not yet contacted Nickelodeon or other Paramount platforms that make his classic
01:07Nickelodeon series available for viewing. THR reached out to Representatives for Schneider
01:11to see which Nickelodeon episodes call for edits. A rep for the former producer cited two
01:15episodes of Victorious titled Ice Cream for Kesha and Helen Back Again, which both aired during season
01:21two, as well as a Zoey 101 episode titled Backpack, which aired during season one of that series.
