A new 'Meet the Parents' movie is in the works with Robert De Niro and Ben Stiller. Original franchise stars De Niro, Stiller, Teri Polo and Blythe Danner are in early talks to return for a new film for Universal Pictures. De Niro and Stiller are also among the film's producers, as is Jay Roach, who directed the first two movies.

00:16producers, as is Jay Roach who directed the first two movies. John Hamburg, who worked on the
00:21screenplay for the 2000 original and the two subsequent sequels, is writing the script.
00:25A director has not yet been announced. Meet the Parents focuses on a nurse, played by Stiller,
00:31who is having trouble getting accepted by his girlfriend's overbearing father, played by De Niro.
00:35The film surpassed $330 million at the global box office. The 2004 sequel, Meet the Fockers,
00:42was even bigger, collecting $522 million worldwide. Another film, Little Fockers, was released in 2010.
00:49During a 2022 interview with The Hollywood Reporter to promote his comedy Me Time,
00:53Hamburg was cagey when asked if another Meet the Parents sequel could happen. He said,
00:58I will refrain from discussing that question, but I love everybody involved,
01:02and we all are still in touch, and I think that's all I'm going to say on that.
