00:002023 was a big year in film. From Barbie to Oppenheimer, here are the top five highest-grossing films of 2023 at the worldwide box office.

00:10At number five, we have Fast X. The 10th installment of the Fast franchise dropped in theaters May 19th and is led by Vin Diesel and a huge cast of familiar and new faces,

00:21including franchise mainstays Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Ludacris, Sung Kang, and Jordana Brewster.

00:28The film went on to earn $704.7 million at the global box office.

00:34When it used to be about winning, we raced for respect. Today, I raced to stop the bloodbath.

00:44At number four, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. The last installment to the Guardians trilogy in the MCU franchise,

00:51the film reunites director James Gunn with Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, and more.

00:56Released in theaters May 5th, the new installment follows the Guardians as Peter Quill is still reeling the loss of Gamora

01:11At number three, we have Oppenheimer. Going head-to-head against Barbie was no small feat when this movie dropped on July 21st,

01:30but Oppenheimer held its own. The World War II set biopic stars Cillian Murphy as physicist J. Robert Oppenheimer,

01:36known as the father of the atomic bomb, for his role in the Manhattan Project.

01:41After a box office Barbenheimer showdown, the movie went on to earn $951.9 million globally.

02:39The Greta Gerwig-directed blockbuster starring Margot Robbie took the world by storm when it bowed in theaters on July 21st.

02:46From the marketing, to the cast, to the soundtrack, all everyone could talk about this year was the famous Mattel doll.

02:52The film grossed $1.44 billion at the global box office and smashed numerous records, including Warner Bros.'s highest-grossing pick ever.
