Pope Leo XIV visits Sultan Ahmed Mosque in Istanbul

Pope Leo XIV visits Istanbul’s Blue Mosque, an iconic jewel of the city and a famous Ottoman monument, on the third day of his visit to Turkey. It is the first visit by the American pope to a Muslim place of worship since he succeeded Francis in May, and who has made dialogue with Islam a cornerstone of his pontificate.
