00:00So what was it like welcoming all these new cast members? Were you on the welcoming committee here?
00:05I'm a pretty gregarious type guy and they all came in and brought so much youth and energy and beauty to the piece.
00:14Caitlin brought this intense focus and sweetness and kindness to Abby, which I think you need if you play the game.
00:22I think there's a balance and there's a two sides of a coin type thing between her and Ellie.
00:25Then you need those qualities in your Abby. Izzy is just effervescent and bubbly and smart and so wise beyond her years.
00:33Spencer Lord, the strength and the kindness there. You know, I got to go down the line now.
00:38Ariella Bauer, beautiful singing voice, incredible musician. All of them are.
00:44Danny Ramirez, too handsome sometimes. Just want to pinch his little cute little face.
00:50And then Young Mazzino was like my homie. He was like my kind of road dog.
00:53Like we kind of went all through Vancouver, kind of tearing it up.
00:57So there's probably some stories being told about us somewhere in Vancouver.
01:00I don't know. Who did I miss?
01:02Tati. Tati. Oh, Tati's just like walking art and the lead of Naughty Dog's Intragalactic,
01:10which is an incredible new game that Naughty Dog is developing.
01:12And Tati Gabrielle, we were fortunate to have her.
01:14So Cass is amazing. Across the board.
01:17And what was it like walking onto that whole Jackson set for the first day?
01:20Well, the original Jackson set was one road in Canmore, Alberta.
01:26And it was already just kind of a marvel of production design and of intense focus and detail.
01:34And then we go to the second season and we go up to Squamish, British Columbia
01:40and build out entire city blocks of the city of Jackson.
01:45And it was spectacular to see.
01:48I mean, working interiors in all these buildings and a lot of like breakaway,
01:55tearaway, inflammable type things and just the whole city.
01:59I was like, you ought to just keep this here, man.
02:01It's just like just have your own back lot here in British Columbia.
02:06Yeah.
02:08Unbelievable.
02:09I mean, our production design team is, I mean, it's HBO, so it's only the best.
02:17And the subject matter obviously can be very dark and grueling.
02:20How do you kind of get in and out of that mindset?
02:22You work with Pedro and Bella and watch them giggle in between takes and laugh at you
02:30when you're trying to be serious.
02:31Caitlin and I both talk about this, just like come in all serious, trying to be serious.
02:35And if they're having their giggle fit, there's no stopping them.
02:39It doesn't matter.
02:40It's not even a thing you're doing that's making them laugh.
02:43It's just they're just very fun and playful people.
02:47So, yeah, I think it's the levity in between each take that all the cast brings.
02:51We bring our musical tastes and our musical abilities to a lot of it.
02:55And I think that that also helps to kind of put a melody in the air and calm everybody down.
03:01Yeah, so it's a lot of really heartbreaking stuff, tough stuff to work through.
03:04So it's good to have people who like to play.
03:07Thank you so much.
03:07Thank you very much.
