Jimmy Kimmel returned to his eponymous late-night talk show Monday night with son Billy in tow to provide an update on his son's health, and to once again call on Congress to fully fund the Children’s Health Insurance Program.

00:00He may have pooped, but he's fine.
00:03Monday's episode of ABC's Jimmy Kimmel Live was an especially emotional and cute one as
00:08the host returned to the show with his infant son Billy as a temporary co-host.
00:13Kimmel provided an update on his son's health after the latest surgery to address his congenital
00:17heart disease and also once again called on Congress to fully fund the Children's Health
00:22Insurance Program.
00:23Kimmel was absent from the show last week as Billy underwent the surgery, which led to
00:27another round of his famous pals stepping in to take over hosting duties.
00:31Chris Pratt, Tracee Ellis Ross, Neil Patrick Harris and Melissa McCarthy all stepped up
00:36to the plate in Kimmel's absence, and the emotional hosts thanked them all profusely.
00:40Daddy cries on TV, but Billy doesn't.
00:43It's unbelievable.
00:44He then thanked the doctors and nurses at Children's Hospital in Los Angeles, who he
00:47said treated Billy, and not just Billy, but many kids with so much caring and compassion.
00:54Kimmel explained that CHIP, or the Children's Health Insurance Program, covers about nine
01:06million American kids whose parents make too much money to qualify for Medicaid, but don't
01:11have access to affordable coverage through their jobs, which means it almost certainly
01:15covers children you know, he said.
01:17Kimmel, who said he's had enough of this, said he doesn't know what could be more disgusting
01:34than putting a tax cut that mostly goes to the rich people ahead of the lives of children.
01:39This isn't the first time the host has gotten involved in the politics of health care.
01:42He famously called out Senator Bill Cassidy over his and Senator Lindsey Graham's attempts
01:47to reform the Affordable Care Act in September.
01:49Or could it be, Senator Cassidy, that the problem is that I do understand, and you got caught
01:54with your geo-penis out?
01:56Recently, Kimmel's wife and co-headwriter for his show, Molly McNerney, told The Hollywood
02:00Reporter that she never expected the couple would become the faces of such a divisive national
02:05debate.
02:06McNerney revealed that while the support has been largely overwhelming, so too has the backlash
02:10from those accusing the duo of using their son's condition for political purposes.
02:14Said McNerney,
02:15I just don't understand.
02:16To me, children having access to health care, no matter what their parents' income, should
02:21not be a divisive issue, but that's where we are as a country right now.
02:25On Monday's Live, Kimmel ended his opening monologue with a personal plea for people to
02:28call their representatives in Congress to urge them to fund CHIP.
02:32So once again, I'm asking you, Billy's asking you to make two phone calls you shouldn't have
02:37to make.
02:38He assured the audience that Billy is doing great, has won more surgery, and is probably
02:41on track to win at least one bronze medal at the Olympics in 2036.
02:46He then handed his biological sidekick to his showbiz one, Guillermo, just in time for a diaper change.
02:51The two cutest Guillermos in the world right there.
