00:00Sony Pictures is expanding its universe of Marvel characters with Aaron Taylor-Johnson as its next leading man.
00:07The studios announced that the actor is set to star in Sony and Marvel's Kraven the Hunter in a multi-picture deal portraying the classic character.
00:14Kraven is known to be one of Marvel's most iconic and notorious anti-heroes, who has encountered Venom and Black Panther, among many others,
00:22as well as being one of Spider-Man's best-known and most formidable enemies.
00:26Taylor-Johnson is said to have wowed Sony executives with his performance in Bullet Train, the upcoming Brad Pitt film directed by David Leitch,
00:34and the studio was eager to lock him down for more.
00:36The actor already has superhero credentials under his belt, having starred in the cult-hit Kick-Ass films,
00:42as well as portraying Quicksilver in Marvel Studios' Avengers Age of Ultron.
00:46News of the Kraven the Hunter casting comes as Sony continues to build out its budding universe,
00:51with upcoming installments including Tom Hardy's Venom, Let There Be Carnage, due out September 24th,
00:56and Jared Leto's Morbius, slated for January 21st, 2022.
01:01As for Kraven the Hunter, the event pick is set to hit theaters January 13th, 2023.
