00:00:00I love it.
00:00:03Every moment I spent painting it, I thought of you.
00:00:07I thought you'd never finish it.
00:00:10I mean, I thought you'd thrown it away.
00:00:13Never.
00:00:15It's forever tied to the woman I love.
00:00:21And cut.
00:00:22That's a cut.
00:00:23Beautiful.
00:00:24Thank you, Emma Albert. Brilliant.
00:00:27Alright, very nicely done, everyone.
00:00:28And that is a picture wrap.
00:00:35Thanks, Albert.
00:00:36Great working with Emma.
00:00:37Emma, my darling, fabulous, as always.
00:00:40Listen, beginning to end, it was truly, it was an honor, it was a pleasure.
00:00:44Well, I feel the same way.
00:00:46I'm excited to see you.
00:00:47Listen, we will talk soon.
00:00:49Okay, alright.
00:00:50Yes.
00:00:53Your best work yet.
00:00:55Thank you, Zane.
00:00:56You're sweet.
00:00:57But, it's nothing I haven't done before.
00:01:01Do you know of anything coming up?
00:01:03The schedule's looking a little too clear for my liking.
00:01:06Emma, you know, a break isn't a bad thing.
00:01:08No, I just want to keep busy, you know?
00:01:10Maybe try something different.
00:01:13Well, word is Clyde Romano is doing a new film.
00:01:16Big budget theatrical.
00:01:17Oh, I love Clyde.
00:01:19Oh, he was great to work with.
00:01:20What is it?
00:01:21Some fantasy action adventure.
00:01:24Seriously?
00:01:24Yeah.
00:01:25That would be perfect.
00:01:27But, Emma, that's not how people see you.
00:01:29Yes, exactly.
00:01:31Come on, you're my agent.
00:01:33See what you can find out.
00:01:35Emma, thanks again.
00:01:37I don't know how you knew we'd be perfect for each other.
00:01:39I could just tell.
00:01:44What was that?
00:01:45That is the prop master and the camera assistant.
00:01:48I set them up.
00:01:49Well, they do look happy.
00:01:53So, you'll call Clyde?
00:01:55Please?
00:01:57Anything for you.
00:01:58You are kidding.
00:02:03This is beyond what I expected of him.
00:02:06Despite our differences, I've always tried to respect him.
00:02:09So much for that.
00:02:10What?
00:02:10Is everything okay at the studio?
00:02:12I'm fine, but Eleanor's stepbrother fired her from her family company.
00:02:16No.
00:02:16Can he do that?
00:02:17He did it.
00:02:19Your stepdad would never allow that.
00:02:20You are way too valuable there.
00:02:22He doesn't know.
00:02:23He's in semi-retirement anyway.
00:02:25I don't want to be responsible for dragging him into this mess.
00:02:28Did he give any reasons?
00:02:30Budget cuts.
00:02:31You're their internal auditor.
00:02:32He's trying to hide something.
00:02:34I'm sure he's...
00:02:35Don't defend him.
00:02:37He must have his reasons.
00:02:38I'm so sorry.
00:02:40Maybe we should stage a coup.
00:02:42Hey, did we all order yet?
00:02:44I don't know.
00:02:45Have we?
00:02:46Yeah, the usual.
00:02:47Eleanor got fired by her own brother.
00:02:49Stepbrother.
00:02:51Eleanor, I'm sorry.
00:02:52Is there anything I can do?
00:02:54Yeah, represent her in a lawsuit for wrongful...
00:02:56What's the name again?
00:02:57Wrongful termination.
00:02:58Yes, that's the one.
00:03:00Thanks, Gray, but I'm still trying to figure it out.
00:03:04No lawsuit needed.
00:03:05Let's just focus on something better, less stressful.
00:03:09Okay.
00:03:10Hey, how'd the filming go?
00:03:11Good.
00:03:12We're all done.
00:03:13Oh, and my agent told me about a new project.
00:03:16Totally different from what I usually do.
00:03:18No romance?
00:03:19I assume not.
00:03:20I haven't actually read the script yet.
00:03:21Hmm.
00:03:22But it's fantasy action.
00:03:24Sounds like my kind of movie.
00:03:25Not that I don't love your work.
00:03:27Nice save.
00:03:28Okay.
00:03:29Anyways, I'm going to have to stay busy until that's all arranged.
00:03:32Uh-oh.
00:03:33What?
00:03:34A bored Emma is a dangerous Emma.
00:03:36What?
00:03:37You tend to latch on to projects when you have nothing to do, like setting people up.
00:03:42I don't know, Link.
00:03:43Ha!
00:03:44Oh, Link.
00:03:45Well, I'm sorry.
00:03:46I can't help myself if I'm good at it.
00:03:48Speaking of which, my agent said something today that makes me think he would love to find
00:03:53a soulmate.
00:03:54Oh, boy.
00:03:55Oh, come on.
00:03:57I haven't actually set him up yet.
00:03:58It'll be really good.
00:04:00All I can say is, not it.
00:04:20Oh, seriously.
00:04:21Are you okay?
00:04:25Oh.
00:04:26Do you need a hand?
00:04:27Thanks.
00:04:28I think I have it.
00:04:30Thanks.
00:04:31Uh, I'm Hope.
00:04:32Hope Murphy.
00:04:33I just rented this house.
00:04:34I'm Emma.
00:04:35You'll really like the neighborhood.
00:04:37Good.
00:04:40You're Emma Hutton, the actress.
00:04:42Uh, yes.
00:04:44I love your movies.
00:04:45I've seen all of them.
00:04:47In fact, I have most of them in one of these boxes.
00:04:49Oh, that's so nice to hear.
00:04:51Sorry.
00:04:52Uh, that sounded funny out loud.
00:04:55So, what brought you here?
00:04:57Uh, I'm starting a new job.
00:04:59Oh, what do you do?
00:05:00I'm a dentist.
00:05:01A local practice hired me on.
00:05:03I'm actually really lucky I found this place.
00:05:05Oh, that's wonderful.
00:05:06So, it's just you then?
00:05:08Yep.
00:05:09Are you sure you didn't want help?
00:05:11Uh, I'm fine.
00:05:13You're sweet, though.
00:05:15All right.
00:05:15Well, I'll let you get to it.
00:05:16Okay.
00:05:17Well, it's good to meet you.
00:05:19You too.
00:05:19Embarrassing.
00:05:23Embarrassing.
00:05:23Oh, come on.
00:05:53Hi, Emma.
00:06:07Hi, Hope.
00:06:09Sorry, it's a bit early.
00:06:11I ran out of milk, and I was in the middle of making something.
00:06:14Could I?
00:06:15Sure.
00:06:15How much do you need?
00:06:16A cup.
00:06:17If you have it to spare.
00:06:18Of course.
00:06:18Hold on.
00:06:25Here you go.
00:06:26Thank you so much.
00:06:27No problem.
00:06:28Hey, why don't you come on over and have a bite when it's ready?
00:06:32I literally couldn't make this without your help.
00:06:36Thanks.
00:06:36I'd like that.
00:06:37Give me 20 minutes or so, and I'll see you soon.
00:06:41Okay.
00:06:42Okay.
00:06:43Bye.
00:06:43Bye.
00:06:43Hey, Zane.
00:06:57Come in.
00:06:59Smells good.
00:07:00Come try some.
00:07:01So, I got a hold of Clyde Romano.
00:07:06He says he and the studio are already thinking of a few other actresses.
00:07:10Some who are more established in the genre.
00:07:13Established?
00:07:14Someone more in the big studio epic movie space.
00:07:17But did you tell him I'm interested?
00:07:19Yes.
00:07:19Call him.
00:07:20Call him.
00:07:21Tell him it would be such a creative move to cast against type.
00:07:25Someone fresh who's not always in all of the blockbusters.
00:07:31I can do it.
00:07:32I know I can.
00:07:33Emma, you haven't even read the script.
00:07:35I haven't either for that matter.
00:07:37That's perfect.
00:07:38Use that to call him and ask for it.
00:07:40Tell him that I would love to audition for him.
00:07:43He has to consider me.
00:07:45I just...
00:07:46Oh, that's hope.
00:07:51Hey!
00:07:53Hi, I brought orange juice.
00:07:54Oh, thank you so much.
00:07:55He already bailed me out with the milk.
00:07:57Come in.
00:08:00My agent stopped by.
00:08:02Zane, this is my neighbor, Hope.
00:08:05Nice to meet you.
00:08:06Hi.
00:08:07I should leave you two to your plans.
00:08:10No, stay.
00:08:11I have plenty.
00:08:14I thought I knew all of Emma's friends.
00:08:16Oh, I'm new.
00:08:17I just moved in.
00:08:19Oh, great.
00:08:20Well, you couldn't pick a better friend than Emma.
00:08:22She's been so kind to me already.
00:08:25Well, you must deserve it.
00:08:27I always love to say that Emma can find the good character in anyone she meets.
00:08:35Are you going to try something on?
00:08:36No, I can't afford to buy right now, anyway.
00:08:39My treat.
00:08:41Thank you, but no.
00:08:43What I could use is your help.
00:08:45Would you look over my resume?
00:08:46Oh, I'm not really sure I'm the best one to do that.
00:08:49I mean, my resume includes a list of movies and characters, not skills, you know?
00:08:55Like, proficient in managing a team of seven accountants or, you know, providing a critical
00:09:03component and transactional data.
00:09:06Then look for typos.
00:09:07That I can do.
00:09:09Yes.
00:09:12What no one is going to look past is that I was fired by my own family.
00:09:17By a bully in the family.
00:09:18Well, I can't quite explain that away without sounding bitter or unreasonable.
00:09:22Well, maybe you could just say that you decided to leave and you wanted to try something new.
00:09:28Well, what do I do for a reference if they call my stepbrother?
00:09:30Put your stepfather down instead.
00:09:32But then he'll find out the minute someone calls him.
00:09:35Why haven't you told him yet?
00:09:37Because he'll get upset and then my mom will get upset and I just want to move on.
00:09:43He's going to find out at some point.
00:09:45Yes, but that can happen when I'm over it.
00:09:48I'm better off.
00:09:49So.
00:09:50Okay.
00:09:50Okay.
00:09:51Well, it'd be helpful if we have some other companies you've worked with more recently
00:09:54for reference.
00:09:56I've worked for my stepfather's company for years.
00:10:00Okay.
00:10:00So, I need something else to put here.
00:10:04Something to take the negative attention away.
00:10:17That looks too intense to be one of my contracts.
00:10:19No, your acting contracts are thankfully much simpler.
00:10:23This is four versions of an endorsement deal that somewhere along the way got mixed and mingled
00:10:27and now it's nowhere near where it needs to be.
00:10:30What's up?
00:10:32Eleanor.
00:10:33I thought you'd be better suited to looking at her resume.
00:10:37Sure.
00:10:37She's so worried about her experience, but I think she just needs something soon to calm her down.
00:10:44You know, boost her confidence.
00:10:46Yeah.
00:10:47It's unfortunate I can't hire her for some movie.
00:10:52Wish I could.
00:10:52Oh, okay.
00:10:57You want me to see if there's a job here for her.
00:11:00You see right through me.
00:11:01I don't even know if there's a job opening here.
00:11:04What about something temporary?
00:11:06Maybe.
00:11:07You know how organized she is.
00:11:09Even if she hasn't done it, she can do it.
00:11:11Okay.
00:11:11I'll see what I can find.
00:11:13Can I hold on to this?
00:11:14Mm-hmm.
00:11:16You're welcome.
00:11:18Bye.
00:11:19See ya.
00:11:37Hey, Emma.
00:11:40Hey.
00:11:41Did you start work today?
00:11:43No.
00:11:43Tomorrow.
00:11:44Ah, good.
00:11:45More time to settle in.
00:11:47I was glad you could meet Zane.
00:11:49Me too.
00:11:49He was really nice.
00:11:51Really nice?
00:11:53Yeah.
00:11:54I think you two got along well.
00:11:57You do?
00:11:58Did he say something?
00:12:00He didn't have to.
00:12:03Okay.
00:12:03Tell me about him.
00:12:04Okay.
00:12:04Tell me about him.
00:12:10Oh.
00:12:12A party.
00:12:13It's ridiculous.
00:12:15What's the occasion?
00:12:16Bell, the firm's managing partner, is celebrating on hiring his lackluster son, who just barely
00:12:22passed the bar.
00:12:23And they're going to make him junior partner, right out of law school.
00:12:26And can you guess which office he got?
00:12:27Hmm.
00:12:28The best one in the building.
00:12:30The second best.
00:12:31Bell Sr. has the first.
00:12:33Nepotism at its finest.
00:12:35Well, at least it's a nice party.
00:12:36It's formal, catered.
00:12:39Expensive.
00:12:40This is purely for the Bell family ego.
00:12:42I'm sorry.
00:12:45It does have an upside.
00:12:46What?
00:12:47Well, as I was venting about all this to June and billing, and she was venting back to
00:12:51me about how much waste there is at the firm.
00:12:54Frivolous spending, unaccounted expenses, billing errors through partner idiocies.
00:12:58We're looking to hire someone.
00:13:00Come in, trim back, and reconcile, and I recommended...
00:13:04Eleanor.
00:13:05Yes.
00:13:06She'll be getting an email soon.
00:13:07You're the best.
00:13:08It's only temporary.
00:13:09No.
00:13:10No, thank you.
00:13:11It's perfect.
00:13:11Really.
00:13:13I need a favor, though.
00:13:14Sure.
00:13:15I don't want to be pestered, and I need a date.
00:13:18So will you go with me?
00:13:20Of course.
00:13:22Hope.
00:13:23It's Zane.
00:13:25Um, he has a script, and he wants me to stop by the office to pick it up.
00:13:29For that big studio movie you wanted.
00:13:30Yes!
00:13:32I think I'll just swing by my place and see if Hope wants to go with me.
00:13:36Who's Hope?
00:13:37Hope is my new neighbor, who I think Zane is already eyeing.
00:13:41Oh, no.
00:13:42Oh, yes.
00:13:43Zane's office is just around the corner.
00:13:46Why do you need to go all the way back to your house?
00:13:47So that Zane can see Hope again.
00:13:49A little extra travel time is worth it to me if it means true love for somebody else.
00:13:54Of course.
00:13:54I'll push them to move back your filming dates, but I can't promise anything.
00:14:03Okay.
00:14:04Take care.
00:14:05Bye.
00:14:07Hi.
00:14:08You just couldn't wait to see me, could you?
00:14:10Hope and I were in the neighborhood.
00:14:12Oh, fantastic.
00:14:14Oh.
00:14:17I'll read this when I get back.
00:14:19When's the audition?
00:14:20I'm working on that.
00:14:22My schedule's free.
00:14:23I'm whittling down Clyde and the casting director.
00:14:25Promise.
00:14:26All right.
00:14:29Well, I'm going to go grab a drink of water, but Hope was wondering more about you and what
00:14:34you do.
00:14:36Well, fire away.
00:14:38How long have you been Emma's agent?
00:14:42Three years.
00:14:44Oh.
00:14:45Good.
00:14:46That's so funny.
00:14:59It's crazy.
00:15:01So then they called me, asked if I knew somebody.
00:15:03She got the job.
00:15:04Oh my God.
00:15:05Yeah, she kind of looks like her.
00:15:07She was brilliant.
00:15:09Totally unafraid.
00:15:10Even if she was dressed in a gorilla suit.
00:15:13Emma, remember when you had to wear that gorilla costume?
00:15:15Oh, um, what movie was that for?
00:15:18Ah.
00:15:19Uh, I think it was the flower shop one.
00:15:21That's it.
00:15:22Very random, but you nailed it.
00:15:25Oh, excuse me.
00:15:28We'll let you get to it.
00:15:30Thanks for stopping by.
00:15:31It was nice to see you again.
00:15:35Zane Elton.
00:15:37He's funny, isn't he?
00:15:39I nearly panicked when you left me on my own, but then he started telling stories about you
00:15:44and it got better.
00:15:45See?
00:15:47Yeah.
00:15:48He made me feel at ease.
00:15:49Okay.
00:15:49Good.
00:15:50I mean, he does well with people.
00:15:52Sort of his job.
00:15:53So, you know, maybe you should see him more.
00:15:59Like, go out with him.
00:16:02No, I couldn't.
00:16:04Oh, why not?
00:16:05What, do you have a boyfriend?
00:16:06Well, no, but I hardly know him.
00:16:09That's why you go out with him.
00:16:12I could barely think of enough to say when you're out of the room for a few minutes.
00:16:15It'd get awkward and I don't do well when things are awkward.
00:16:19Oh, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa.
00:16:20Well, you have nothing to worry about.
00:16:21Look, you would be fine.
00:16:23I can tell.
00:16:25I can't ask him out.
00:16:27Then I'll set you two up.
00:16:30It'd still be awkward.
00:16:32I think you would make Zane really happy.
00:16:35And Zane would make you really happy, too.
00:16:38So, what's it going to take?
00:16:42Make it a double date.
00:16:43Takes the pressure off.
00:16:44Okay.
00:16:48Done.
00:16:49Come on.
00:16:55All right, guys.
00:16:55Nice job.
00:16:56We're going to do this one more time.
00:16:58I want you to think of really getting that posse really high into your center.
00:17:01Get really high on your standing leg.
00:17:03All right, here we go.
00:17:03Starting with the prep.
00:17:04One.
00:17:05Out to the side.
00:17:05One.
00:17:06Have you considered maybe Hope doesn't want a relationship right now?
00:17:09It's just a date.
00:17:10Well, she just moved to a new place with a new job.
00:17:13It's a lot of change.
00:17:14Is this your way of telling me I shouldn't set her up?
00:17:17Be careful.
00:17:18That's all.
00:17:19It'll be fine.
00:17:20You should see how good they look together.
00:17:22Have you figured out who you're going to ask for your date?
00:17:25Not yet.
00:17:25No.
00:17:26I really don't want to go.
00:17:27But I understand Hope's anxious, so I'll be there.
00:17:30And that's two turns last time.
00:17:33Good.
00:17:33And hold it.
00:17:34Very nice.
00:17:35Okay.
00:17:35Thank you guys so much.
00:17:37Work on that.
00:17:37And I will see you next time.
00:17:39Good job.
00:17:40Good job, Sarah.
00:17:42What did I miss?
00:17:43Emma is looking for a guy for a double date she's going on.
00:17:46Oh.
00:17:47What about Baker Caulfield?
00:17:48Oh, no.
00:17:49No.
00:17:50You set him up with me.
00:17:52I did?
00:17:53That is true friendship right there.
00:17:54You threw someone at me who wasn't even good enough for yourself.
00:17:57Well, it would be a lot easier if you two had available brothers.
00:18:01Yeah, I have four sisters of varying degrees of respectability.
00:18:05Trust me, my dad wishes he had a son.
00:18:07And I value our friendship way too much to recommend my stepbrother, even if he wasn't married.
00:18:15Huh.
00:18:16What?
00:18:17Uh, it's an email from that lady I interviewed with at Grace Firm.
00:18:20They want me to consult.
00:18:22I'm to evaluate and recommend cost-saving measures for the firm.
00:18:26Okay, that's perfect.
00:18:28Congrats.
00:18:29I don't know where.
00:18:31Okay, can we eat?
00:18:32I'm starving.
00:18:33Yes.
00:18:33Zane, this script is...
00:18:55I want the part.
00:18:57No, I have to have it.
00:18:59Have you read it?
00:18:59I mean, it's everything I've wanted to do, all in one character.
00:19:06Oh, I'm so sorry.
00:19:08I let the time get away from me.
00:19:10We can chat tomorrow.
00:19:12Okay, but before you go, keep Friday night open.
00:19:14We're going out.
00:19:15A double date.
00:19:17You, me, and Hope.
00:19:19She's new in town and could use fantastic company in a night out.
00:19:23Okay.
00:19:24Great.
00:19:26Good night.
00:19:26This character doesn't back down, but she's full of insecurities, and it's delightful.
00:19:37And then she's this epic hero, even though she's flawed, and it's just so complex.
00:19:44I love it.
00:19:45I feel like I've waited my whole career for this.
00:19:48All eight years of it?
00:19:49That's just the years I was getting paid.
00:19:51I've acted long before that.
00:19:53But I think it's what I wanted without even realizing it till now.
00:19:57Well, may Zane work his toe off to get you that audition.
00:20:00Did you ever think I'd be a serious actress?
00:20:03Like ever?
00:20:04Like when we were younger.
00:20:05Well, you are one now.
00:20:07Oh, I think my father indulged acting, but I don't think he saw it as a career.
00:20:11Remember that one play you were in before I went to law school?
00:20:14Romeo and Juliet.
00:20:15And you know how I feel about romance.
00:20:17It's a tragic romance.
00:20:18Isn't that better?
00:20:19No.
00:20:21But I went because I knew I would never hear the end of it from your father and my parents
00:20:25if I didn't go.
00:20:26You remember when the castle set fell down?
00:20:28Oh, yes.
00:20:29Everyone was running around screaming, going crazy, but you didn't.
00:20:34You stayed in character, and you even helped put the set back together.
00:20:38That's when I knew.
00:20:44Is Eleanor here yet?
00:20:45She just checked in with HR this morning.
00:20:48We should invite her in.
00:20:49There's plenty of food.
00:20:50Are you kidding?
00:20:51She has very strict thoughts on breaks and talking during work.
00:20:55Really?
00:20:57110% at work is her motto.
00:20:59Well, I should set a better example, then.
00:21:04Thanks for lunch.
00:21:05Of course.
00:21:07I do have a favor.
00:21:09Another one?
00:21:10Stop it.
00:21:11It's not that bad.
00:21:12What is it?
00:21:13Since I'm your plus one to the company party...
00:21:16Overindulgent party.
00:21:18Will you come with me on this date that I set up for Zane and Hope?
00:21:22Is it worse to be on a first date or witness someone's first date?
00:21:26Stop.
00:21:26They already know each other.
00:21:28A little.
00:21:29Will you come with me?
00:21:31Fine.
00:21:38Hope.
00:21:39Emma's told me a lot about you.
00:21:41Oh.
00:21:44Sorry I'm late.
00:21:45Traffic.
00:21:46Zane, you know Gray, my attorney, right?
00:21:48Ah, of course.
00:21:48Good to see you again.
00:21:50Hi, Zane.
00:21:51Hope.
00:21:52Should we have a seat?
00:21:53Yeah.
00:21:56Thanks.
00:21:58I think I'm going to run to the restroom.
00:22:01Can you order the fish for me?
00:22:02Sure.
00:22:03I'll come with you.
00:22:04Do you know what you want to order?
00:22:06The fish for me also.
00:22:07Thanks.
00:22:15Is everything all right?
00:22:22So, are you and Emma dating?
00:22:25Ah, no.
00:22:28It's just a favor, that's all.
00:22:29Oh.
00:22:31That makes sense.
00:22:32I thought you were just her lawyer, so, good.
00:22:35Well, we've been friends since before I went to law school.
00:22:38Oh.
00:22:39She never mentioned that.
00:22:44Hope seems nice.
00:22:46Yeah, if you like that type.
00:22:58Hey.
00:23:00Hi.
00:23:00Hey, thanks so much for your help.
00:23:02This job is just what I needed.
00:23:04Good.
00:23:04Good.
00:23:05Good.
00:23:07What's up?
00:23:09I am 95% certain that the guy that Emma set up with her friend
00:23:13is actually in love with Emma.
00:23:15Zane her agent?
00:23:17Mm-hmm.
00:23:19Do I warn her?
00:23:20Poor Hope.
00:23:21I don't know.
00:23:22I mean Emma.
00:23:24What if you're wrong?
00:23:25I picked up on it.
00:23:27Doesn't that say something?
00:23:27I see your point.
00:23:30How is Emma missing it then?
00:23:31Seriously?
00:23:33Emma's in her own little world when it comes to romance.
00:23:35She sees life in a completely different reality.
00:23:39Warn her then.
00:23:40But tell her you're not sure just in case, you know.
00:23:43Yeah.
00:23:44I'm not wrong.
00:23:46Thanks.
00:23:51Oh, are these the prescription authorizations?
00:23:53Yes.
00:23:53You're a miracle worker.
00:23:55Okay.
00:23:55Yes.
00:23:56I will see you tomorrow.
00:23:57All right.
00:23:58Okay.
00:23:58Thank you, Zane.
00:23:59What happened?
00:24:01Zane got me the audition.
00:24:02Oh, that's so great.
00:24:05Oh, but I forgot to ask Zane what he thought of the date.
00:24:07Oh, no.
00:24:08Don't do that.
00:24:10Well, what did you think of it?
00:24:11I think it went well.
00:24:13I just always feel so awkward.
00:24:15I'm glad you were there.
00:24:16Well, the next time it should just be the two of you.
00:24:19If there's a next time.
00:24:20I saw the way he was smiling at you.
00:24:22And you guys talk like you had a lot in common.
00:24:25There will be a next time.
00:24:26And my offer to call him back still stands.
00:24:29No, that's too much.
00:24:30What about this?
00:24:31I'm going to talk to Zane about the audition anyways.
00:24:34And I will just carefully see how he feels about you.
00:24:37And just slyly let him know that you'd like to go out again.
00:24:42Perfect.
00:24:44Where do you want to go eat?
00:24:47If we fail now, we never recover.
00:24:51We never return to any happiness or peace,
00:24:53which so many of us have fought for since we were children.
00:25:00Hey.
00:25:02Memorizing lines?
00:25:03I'm trying.
00:25:04When's the audition?
00:25:0510 a.m.
00:25:06You'll do great.
00:25:07You always say that.
00:25:09Doesn't mean I don't believe it.
00:25:10Line check?
00:25:11No emotion?
00:25:13Got it.
00:25:14Go.
00:25:16If we fail now, we never recover.
00:25:18We never return to any happiness or peace,
00:25:21which so many of us have fought for since we were children.
00:25:26We'll...
00:25:26We'll retreat.
00:25:27We must.
00:25:28Not for our own lives, but for those of every village.
00:25:32Or all of the villages.
00:25:33We will...
00:25:35We must survive for them.
00:25:37How am I doing?
00:25:3980%.
00:25:40How was your day?
00:25:44It was fine.
00:25:45You know, I never thanked you for coming with me the other night.
00:25:48No thanks needed.
00:25:50But about that.
00:25:51What?
00:25:52Didn't Zane seem a little...
00:25:57You know what?
00:26:01You're busy.
00:26:03So I'm just gonna...
00:26:03Wait, wait, wait.
00:26:04No, no.
00:26:04I'm listening.
00:26:05I'm listening.
00:26:06I need a break anyways.
00:26:07You were saying?
00:26:11Okay.
00:26:12At dinner.
00:26:14The other night.
00:26:15I kept noticing.
00:26:17I got the feeling.
00:26:19Repeatedly.
00:26:20That...
00:26:21Well, Zane is...
00:26:22What about him?
00:26:24He's into you.
00:26:25What?
00:26:26No, that's ridiculous.
00:26:27Not really.
00:26:28He's my agent.
00:26:29Well, he wants to be more than that.
00:26:31He was there on a date with Hope.
00:26:33Yeah, but he was addressing you every time he spoke.
00:26:37You are reading way too much into this, Gray.
00:26:39No.
00:26:40No, I'm not.
00:26:42You love to play Cupid, but that doesn't mean you're right all the time.
00:26:45Hope likes Zane.
00:26:47And that's great.
00:26:49I'm telling you, the feelings aren't mutual.
00:26:52Well, I don't believe it.
00:26:54Then you're in denial.
00:26:56Come on, come on.
00:26:57I would have noticed if what you're saying is true.
00:26:59You don't notice anything if it means you're wrong.
00:27:02Well, I appreciate your concern, but I'm not wrong.
00:27:06Fine.
00:27:12From the beginning?
00:27:17So, how are we doing on schedule?
00:27:18Just a little behind.
00:27:19Okay, no problem.
00:27:20Thanks.
00:27:22Zane!
00:27:23Hi.
00:27:24Hi.
00:27:24Hi.
00:27:24Uh, Clyde's running behind, but the casting director said it'll be just a few more minutes.
00:27:29Okay.
00:27:30I didn't expect to see you here.
00:27:31Well, I know how important this is to you.
00:27:33How are you feeling?
00:27:34Ready.
00:27:35Good.
00:27:37And thanks again for giving me this chance.
00:27:39You're my star.
00:27:41And you deserve it.
00:27:43Clyde's just about ready.
00:27:46I'm so nervous.
00:27:48No.
00:27:49You got this.
00:27:50And you look beautiful.
00:27:52Come here.
00:27:52You'll be fine.
00:28:00Zane, ah.
00:28:01I love you.
00:28:03You do?
00:28:03Didn't you know?
00:28:05But, uh, Hope.
00:28:07What about her?
00:28:08The date.
00:28:09I thought you'd ask me out to be your date until I realized you were there with Gray and
00:28:14I was supposed to be there with Hope, so I went with it.
00:28:17But we've never...
00:28:19I know.
00:28:19And that's why I want to be clear now.
00:28:21No more sideways glances.
00:28:23No more setting each other up when really we want to be together.
00:28:27I love you.
00:28:30Emma.
00:28:31Okay, we're ready for you now.
00:28:33Uh, I have to do this.
00:28:36I'm sorry.
00:28:36I never really saw you that way.
00:28:41But you could.
00:28:43Emma.
00:28:44I'm sorry.
00:28:45Yes.
00:28:45Yes, I'm coming.
00:28:49Good to see you again.
00:28:50You too.
00:28:51Thanks for letting me audition.
00:28:54Whenever you're ready, Shelley will read opposite you.
00:29:02If, uh, if we fail now, we never recover.
00:29:06Sorry.
00:29:12We never return to any happiness or peace, which so many of us have fought for since we were
00:29:18children.
00:29:19What can we do?
00:29:20You are to lead us, aren't you?
00:29:22Tell us.
00:29:24We retreat.
00:29:25Retreat?
00:29:26Retreat?
00:29:27We must.
00:29:28Not for ourselves, not for our own lives, but for the lives of every village near and far.
00:29:35We must survive for them.
00:29:40I was so wrong.
00:29:42Okay, I'm really trying hard not to tell you that I told you.
00:29:49Good.
00:29:50Keep trying.
00:29:52I really had no idea he liked me.
00:29:55I know.
00:29:58I hope.
00:29:59There's really no way around her getting hurt, is there?
00:30:05Attack on that audition.
00:30:07Disaster.
00:30:08I'm sure it wasn't that bad.
00:30:10The only thing the casting director said to me after I finished was, thanks for stopping
00:30:13by.
00:30:14Not even a, let's try it this way from Clyde, or a good to see you again.
00:30:18I should have listened to you.
00:30:23Come here.
00:30:27It's not as if you wanted this to happen.
00:30:29You were only trying to help Hope.
00:30:31And failing.
00:30:33Failing every once in a while is a good thing.
00:30:36Helps us grow.
00:30:37Did you just make that up?
00:30:39No.
00:30:43Still, the worst is yet to come.
00:30:45What's that?
00:30:47Telling Hope.
00:30:48Hey, Hope.
00:30:56Hi.
00:30:57I came as soon as they got off work.
00:30:58What's up?
00:31:00Um, I was wrong about Zane.
00:31:05I would have never recommended him if I had known.
00:31:08And the last thing I want is for you to get hurt.
00:31:10I know.
00:31:12Can I ask you something?
00:31:14Of course.
00:31:14Now that you know he's interested in you, do you want to date him?
00:31:21No.
00:31:22But are you?
00:31:23How are you feeling?
00:31:25I mean, feel free to yell and throw things and...
00:31:28I'm fine.
00:31:28I barely knew him.
00:31:30But it's completely understandable being angry, though.
00:31:34I'm not.
00:31:35I mean, sure, it stings a little being rejected.
00:31:38But honestly, I had more fun on the date just joking around and talking with you, Gray and Zane.
00:31:44It's not like my heart was firmly set on him.
00:31:47Um, we tried, and it didn't work out.
00:31:51It's not a big deal.
00:31:54Ooh.
00:31:55But what is in these cookies?
00:31:57Because they are really good.
00:32:01She's a saint.
00:32:02I mean, I was furious at you for setting me up with neon jacket guy.
00:32:06You guys would really like her.
00:32:09We should all go out sometime.
00:32:11I imagine she's trying to feel comfortable and just, I don't know, not so alone.
00:32:16I'm glad you're considering a supportive group of friends now instead of a date.
00:32:20I'm not giving up on her.
00:32:22Goodness, Emma, give the girl a break.
00:32:24Besides, weren't you originally trying to set up Zane?
00:32:27Yes, but he's not answering my calls anymore, so that's an out.
00:32:31This one?
00:32:32Not for an office party.
00:32:34Maybe you should just give Hope some time to be herself.
00:32:37Yeah, stop pressuring her to find romance.
00:32:39I'm not pressuring her.
00:32:41You're worse than my mother.
00:32:43I take offense to that.
00:32:45Well, you'll get over it.
00:32:46I think what Liz means is there's nothing wrong with letting romance develop on its own,
00:32:51without any well-meaning nudges.
00:32:54Not that one.
00:32:55I just don't want Hope to think that I'm giving up on her.
00:32:58You're not.
00:32:59And I sort of enjoy setting people up.
00:33:02Well, then maybe just stick to finding someone for yourself.
00:33:05That would be like me being a surgeon trying to operate on myself.
00:33:09Ooh.
00:33:10I like that one.
00:33:12Look, if you must, set someone up with my sister Lydia.
00:33:16She would swoon over anyone you set her up with, especially if they were famous.
00:33:25You could smile.
00:33:34I might shock someone, which could be amusing.
00:33:37No.
00:33:38No, I might lurch someone over.
00:33:39You dread it so much.
00:33:40Why did you come?
00:33:42Obligation?
00:33:43Bail notices?
00:33:45Plus, he's got his secretary over there taking role.
00:33:47Well, at least he doesn't ignore you.
00:33:50Who's ignoring you?
00:33:51A director?
00:33:53No.
00:33:54Zane.
00:33:55Oh, you called him.
00:33:56Yes.
00:33:57He never picks up.
00:33:58I really want to know about that audition, but that just feels awkward, too.
00:34:03You can't avoid him forever, okay?
00:34:05At some point, you're going to have to work with him again.
00:34:07I know.
00:34:07I just...
00:34:09I wish I'd noticed how he felt.
00:34:11You know, what if I did something to encourage him without realizing it?
00:34:16Well, you can be a bit of a flirt.
00:34:19Have you been by his office?
00:34:21No.
00:34:22You should.
00:34:23Smooth things over.
00:34:24It'll be good for him and you.
00:34:28Now it's time to go try some overpriced hors d'oeuvres.
00:34:31Do you want some?
00:34:33Sure.
00:34:33Be right back.
00:34:42Oh, great.
00:34:43Great.
00:34:44It's great.
00:34:45Ah, good to see you.
00:34:46Thanks for coming out.
00:34:48Yeah, thanks for having us.
00:34:51What's amusing you?
00:34:54Oh, he got snagged by my father.
00:34:57Poor guy.
00:34:57That's your father?
00:34:59You must not work for the firm.
00:35:02Barry Bell.
00:35:03The newly hired partner, Emma Hutton.
00:35:07Pleasure to meet you.
00:35:09I noticed you didn't throw out the undeserving son, a tribute to nepotism.
00:35:15I hear the office rumor mill.
00:35:18Is being newest partner...
00:35:21Junior partner.
00:35:22Is it everything you imagined?
00:35:26It's okay.
00:35:27It's work.
00:35:29What about you?
00:35:30You don't work here, but are you a lawyer?
00:35:33No.
00:35:34No, I've only played one before in a movie.
00:35:37An actress, then.
00:35:39Fascinating.
00:35:40What films have you done?
00:35:41Mostly romantic love stories.
00:35:44How fun.
00:35:46I don't know if I recognized you or not, but when I saw you, I had to come meet you.
00:35:52So, what are you working on right now?
00:35:55Um, I just finished a project.
00:35:57But there's one in particular that I'm hoping to hear back from soon.
00:36:01You know, I've always wanted to act.
00:36:05You hear that all the time.
00:36:08I do.
00:36:09Sorry.
00:36:11It's true, though.
00:36:13So, is it everything I imagined it would be?
00:36:17At times, yeah.
00:36:19And others?
00:36:21It's still work.
00:36:22Good times, bad times.
00:36:24Stressful.
00:36:26But, I love it.
00:36:28Well, tell me about the bat.
00:36:29If I consider a career change, I want to know what I'm getting into.
00:36:33Okay.
00:36:34Uh, long hours.
00:36:36Working with new people all of the time.
00:36:38Some good.
00:36:39Some a little odd.
00:36:41And speaking of odd.
00:36:44Fans.
00:36:45Oh, man.
00:36:45There's always a handful who can be a little out there.
00:36:50Well, you can't blame them for being wild about you.
00:36:58You know, right?
00:37:01No.
00:37:02I would love to take you out sometime.
00:37:06Oh, man.
00:37:06You told me to stick to finding somebody for myself.
00:37:20Who knew he'd come to me?
00:37:22But Barry Bell?
00:37:24Is that really his name?
00:37:25Yes.
00:37:25And he's nice.
00:37:27Oh, I thought Gray didn't think much of him.
00:37:29I get why.
00:37:30I mean, Barry has a family connection.
00:37:32And Gray has worked really hard to get where he is.
00:37:35But that doesn't mean Barry's a bad guy.
00:37:38Okay.
00:37:39So, you're serious about him?
00:37:42I think it'd be worth getting to know him better.
00:37:44Okay.
00:37:45So, are you going to call him?
00:37:47I can't.
00:37:47I don't know his number.
00:37:49But he asked for mine.
00:37:50Oh, so you have to wait.
00:37:52Your favorite thing.
00:37:53It's worse than having to wait to hear about an audition.
00:37:56Almost.
00:37:57Speaking of, did you hear back on that role you wanted?
00:38:00Not yet.
00:38:09I haven't heard about the audition.
00:38:14How are you?
00:38:15Fine.
00:38:16Are you redecorating?
00:38:26Yeah.
00:38:28The agency had a meeting and is shuffling assignments.
00:38:31I've been assigned other people to represent.
00:38:34And a new agent, Kathy, will now represent you.
00:38:37Oh.
00:38:38She's good.
00:38:39And I'll have her pass along any updates from Clyde Romano.
00:38:43Thanks.
00:38:46I didn't know.
00:38:49If I had, I...
00:38:50I would never mislead you.
00:38:55I'm sorry, but I need to really focus on this deal that I'm making for another actor.
00:39:00Okay.
00:39:03Rising.
00:39:03Goodbye, Emma.
00:39:13I'll look into that.
00:39:14Great, thank you.
00:39:17Emma.
00:39:17I hope I didn't keep you waiting.
00:39:22Well, I was hoping you'd let me take you out.
00:39:28How's the night, then?
00:39:31Perfect.
00:39:33I need your help.
00:39:38Mine?
00:39:39What for?
00:39:40I have a date tonight.
00:39:42What do you think?
00:39:43Well, who's your date?
00:39:45This lawyer that I met at Gray's firm.
00:39:48It's just what I need right now.
00:39:51A distraction?
00:39:53Romance.
00:39:55Uh, I like the color of that one.
00:39:59Good.
00:40:00Any other ones?
00:40:00Let's see.
00:40:03Am I being insensitive about this?
00:40:06What do you mean?
00:40:07I mean, with how Zane turned out and...
00:40:10Now I'm going on a date.
00:40:12Please.
00:40:13I'm fine.
00:40:14Don't hold back.
00:40:15All right.
00:40:16Maybe I should go more casual.
00:40:19Let me grab some other options.
00:40:20So you said your date is friends with Gray?
00:40:25Uh, not really.
00:40:26They both work at the same firm, but I don't think Gray knows him that well.
00:40:31Well, how do you and Gray know each other?
00:40:33We grew up in the same neighborhood.
00:40:35Oh.
00:40:36Our parents are good friends, so.
00:40:37He's actually a little bit older than me, so we didn't end up going to school at the same time.
00:40:42But it became inevitable with our families that we'd interact.
00:40:46He's a good friend.
00:40:49A trusted friend.
00:40:52I guess that's why he's my attorney.
00:40:54What does he do?
00:40:55Oh, you know, he goes over, like, my acting contracts and stuff like that.
00:40:59Just make sure I don't sign anything that I shouldn't.
00:41:02He was really nice, I thought.
00:41:04Yeah, he is.
00:41:07Um, do you have a blouse to go with this?
00:41:10I like it better than the dress.
00:41:11Um, yes.
00:41:13Oh.
00:41:16Hello?
00:41:18Hi, it's so good to hear from you.
00:41:22They did?
00:41:23Oh, that's amazing.
00:41:25Great.
00:41:25Okay, thank you so much.
00:41:27Yes, I will be ready.
00:41:28Okay.
00:41:30Okay.
00:41:31Bye.
00:41:31What was that?
00:41:33That's my new agent.
00:41:34They want me for a screen test.
00:41:36Uh, what's a screen test?
00:41:38It's like another audition, just a little more in-depth, but this time they film me to see
00:41:43how I look on camera, which is fantastic because I totally thought I'd ruin my chances before.
00:41:48I'm so happy for you.
00:41:51Now, to your outfit.
00:41:54And I had to cut my hair just to get free.
00:41:59No.
00:42:00Yes, it was a mess.
00:42:01I was sure that I'd ruin the whole movie right then.
00:42:04Did you get in trouble?
00:42:05No, thankfully.
00:42:07But I think the director knew it wasn't my fault, so one week later and I made it through.
00:42:11I always heard acting was dramatic, but that...
00:42:15Not what you'd expect.
00:42:17If it makes you feel better, I watched that very movie last night and couldn't tell.
00:42:20Good.
00:42:21You really are quite talented.
00:42:26I'd love to see you work sometime.
00:42:30I'd like that.
00:42:32Hopefully the screen test leads to something and...
00:42:35When is it?
00:42:36Tomorrow.
00:42:37So soon?
00:42:38Yeah.
00:42:39That's a lot of pressure.
00:42:40Well, you get used to it.
00:42:42Well, do you need help or moral support?
00:42:46Anything I can do?
00:42:47No, thank you.
00:42:47You're fine.
00:42:48It's just the usual nerves and...
00:42:50Well, let me come with you then.
00:42:51Well, they don't let you watch it.
00:42:54I'll wait in the lobby or whatever.
00:42:55I want to be there.
00:42:58Okay.
00:43:00So, how did you get into acting?
00:43:04I'm sorry.
00:43:05I'm bombarding you with questions, aren't I?
00:43:07Maybe you're just channeling your inner lawyer.
00:43:10Is this a cross-examination?
00:43:12I haven't been in the courtroom yet, but...
00:43:15Well, I just feel like I'm talking all about my work.
00:43:18Tell me more about you.
00:43:20No, no.
00:43:21I love hearing about what you do.
00:43:24I promise.
00:43:25Don't tell me how you trained to become such a great actress.
00:43:38Hi, good to see you again.
00:43:40Have a seat and we'll call you back in a minute.
00:43:47Are they the competition?
00:43:50Maybe.
00:43:51They could be here for another role.
00:43:55Are you nervous?
00:43:57Yes.
00:43:58Isn't that crazy?
00:44:00How do you do this?
00:44:01It's just like a job interview.
00:44:03Work for my father.
00:44:05Interview got skipped.
00:44:06Oh.
00:44:07So, what happens when it's your turn?
00:44:10So, they take me into a studio and someone else reads lines of the other characters and
00:44:15then I do my part.
00:44:17That's it?
00:44:18Hmm.
00:44:19Well, hopefully there's a chance to talk.
00:44:20You know, make a personal impression.
00:44:24Emma?
00:44:25Break a leg.
00:44:30Emma.
00:44:30Hey.
00:44:31Good to see you again.
00:44:32Thank you for giving me a second chance.
00:44:34Well, it took some convincing of the higher-ups.
00:44:36Higher-ups?
00:44:37Studio bigwigs.
00:44:38Here they come now.
00:44:40Hi.
00:44:40Oh.
00:44:42Don't worry about it.
00:44:43Listen, I saw something in your audition that I didn't expect.
00:44:47It was the way you were so conflicted.
00:44:51It was eye-opening.
00:44:52I'm glad you liked it.
00:44:54Yes.
00:44:54So, maybe this character can be fresh.
00:44:57Not the confident, we-know-she'll-win hero, but someone who's vulnerable, who grows into
00:45:04her heroism.
00:45:05I love that idea.
00:45:06Great.
00:45:07To that end, I still need to show the studio option.
00:45:10So, why don't we try a few versions here today?
00:45:13Some to cover what I want.
00:45:15And then the confident, normal stuff that they might want.
00:45:19Okay.
00:45:21Great.
00:45:22You ready?
00:45:28Your order, 220.
00:45:30You're welcome.
00:45:32Hi.
00:45:33Okay.
00:45:35Three, 15, 10.
00:45:38All right, perfect.
00:45:39Your order, 221.
00:45:40Hey, give me a chicken wrap with a side of hummus.
00:45:44Okay.
00:45:4512.44.
00:45:48Okay, perfect.
00:45:49Your order, 222.
00:45:50All right, thanks.
00:45:50You're welcome.
00:45:57Hey.
00:45:58How are you doing?
00:46:00Fine.
00:46:00Is work going all right for you?
00:46:07Yep.
00:46:09Order 219?
00:46:12Uh, so, any fun plans this weekend?
00:46:16Look, maybe Emma didn't say anything, but the date was a mistake.
00:46:21I just wanted to say hi, being polite.
00:46:25Can you just leave me alone?
00:46:27I...
00:46:27I wasn't interested in you before, and I certainly don't want to be bored by you now.
00:46:30Awkward.
00:46:31Awkward.
00:46:36220?
00:46:39Order 220?
00:46:43I'll get that for her.
00:46:54Hope.
00:46:55Hope.
00:46:57Hey.
00:46:59Hey, you all right?
00:47:01Great.
00:47:02Yeah, I'm fine.
00:47:07You saw?
00:47:10You know, I've...
00:47:11I've never put my finger on why I didn't like that guy.
00:47:15Until today.
00:47:18I think I lost my appetite.
00:47:21No, come on.
00:47:21Don't let that get to you.
00:47:24Don't let that get to you.
00:47:25Well, you want some?
00:47:30This isn't just the fangirl in me, but sometimes I wish her were more like Emma.
00:47:35How so?
00:47:35You know, everyone loves her.
00:47:37Everyone loves her.
00:47:39Zane, it's not everyone.
00:47:42But must be nice to be sought after.
00:47:44Maybe it's overrated.
00:47:48Look, Emma is wonderful.
00:47:51But it's really easy to just see the actress and not the person.
00:47:56I mean, she's not perfect.
00:47:59I mean, she's my best friend.
00:48:01But I just don't think she realizes the impact that she has on others.
00:48:07She is very human.
00:48:09It's hard to see her that way.
00:48:11Well, trust me.
00:48:12I see it.
00:48:15I don't agree with her matchmaking picks.
00:48:18But she does choose some great friends.
00:48:26Hey, a bunch of us are getting together tonight.
00:48:29Oh, Emma told me about it.
00:48:31I don't know if I...
00:48:32Forget Zane.
00:48:34Come and have some fun.
00:48:37Okay.
00:48:38Thanks.
00:48:43So, how'd the camera sets go?
00:48:45Good.
00:48:45It went really well.
00:48:46That's awesome.
00:48:48And you were so worried you'd have a horrible audition.
00:48:50Oh, well.
00:48:51I did.
00:48:52But guess what?
00:48:53The reason they gave me the second audition was because they loved how conflicted I did it before.
00:48:59I mean, who would have thought that Zane throwing me off my game would have led to this?
00:49:05So, what's next?
00:49:07Oh, I guess it's just back to waiting by the phone.
00:49:10But at least this time, I feel like I really did my best.
00:49:14I hope you get it.
00:49:15So, how's everyone decorating these?
00:49:18I'm going to do my dance thing somehow.
00:49:21I think I'm going to leave my profession out of this.
00:49:24And I just want you all to know that I'm here, even though I voted for bowling.
00:49:28Pass the roll stamp, please.
00:49:30So, Hope, how was your new job?
00:49:32It's good.
00:49:33I mean, the other dentists and staff are really nice.
00:49:35There's a lot of patients each day, but I like to keep busy, so...
00:49:39Sounds like a good fit.
00:49:40Where'd you move from?
00:49:42Washington.
00:49:43Oh, that's a decent move.
00:49:44Do you have any family around here?
00:49:46Nope.
00:49:46Just me.
00:49:48Oh, I've been meaning to tell you the actor that I worked with on my last movie.
00:49:53He's very handsome.
00:49:54He's really nice.
00:49:56And he was even in dental school before he became an actor.
00:50:01So, would you like me to introduce you, too?
00:50:04I think I'm fine.
00:50:06I mean, I can keep looking.
00:50:08No, no, I think you should focus on your acting and getting that part.
00:50:13Are you sure?
00:50:14Yeah.
00:50:15If I change my mind, I will let you know.
00:50:21Who is it?
00:50:23Barry.
00:50:24He's inviting me to a party.
00:50:26Are you going to go?
00:50:27Of course.
00:50:28I didn't realize you planned on going out with him again.
00:50:32Why wouldn't I?
00:50:32I mean, he's attentive.
00:50:34He's nice.
00:50:36I don't know.
00:50:36He has these dreams, and I just find that really refreshing.
00:50:40Shouldn't he be beyond that by now?
00:50:43Dreams?
00:50:44Yeah, you know, like settling down and figuring out what he wants to be when he grows up.
00:50:48I mean, he's kind of late to the party to be a lawyer.
00:50:50I'll say.
00:50:51Is he?
00:50:51Because I kind of admire the fact that he's worked really hard to get his law degree.
00:50:55Thanks for getting me to come tonight.
00:51:07Yeah, it is kind of fun, isn't it?
00:51:09Don't tell him I said that.
00:51:10Can we eat these when we're done?
00:51:12Why not?
00:51:13So, have you heard anything about that new space movie that's out?
00:51:17Um, no.
00:51:18I kind of like sci-fi type things.
00:51:23You do?
00:51:24Yeah.
00:51:25Oh, me too.
00:51:26Uh, well, I was hoping to go this weekend.
00:51:30Would you want to go with me?
00:51:31When were you thinking?
00:51:33This would be so funny.
00:51:35Uh, Friday?
00:51:38Yeah.
00:51:40Yeah, that works.
00:51:42All right.
00:51:45Thanks, that'll be great.
00:51:47Hey.
00:51:48Hey.
00:51:50Did you know the firm spends $650,000 on private jet rentals every quarter?
00:51:55Right?
00:51:56What's wrong with flying commercial?
00:51:57Nothing.
00:51:58But why soup to that if you don't mind wasting money?
00:52:01Is that at the top of your cost-cutting list?
00:52:03Sadly, no.
00:52:05But I have a feeling the people whose names are on the building
00:52:07might be a little protective of their private jet trips anyway.
00:52:11Probably.
00:52:14So what do you think about Barry and Emma?
00:52:17What about him?
00:52:18I thought you'd be opposed to he and her going out again.
00:52:22She didn't ask for my opinion.
00:52:24And if she did?
00:52:25If he's what makes her happy, then I'm fine.
00:52:28Really?
00:52:30What do you think about him?
00:52:32Well, I haven't gotten any of his expenses yet,
00:52:35but something tells me they'll all end up on my recommendation list for trimming back.
00:52:40Doesn't make him a bad person, though.
00:52:42No, but that's up to Emma.
00:52:53Oh!
00:52:54Sorry.
00:52:55Um, what are you doing here?
00:52:57Oh, just going to see a movie with Hope.
00:52:59Just thought I'd stop in and say hi.
00:53:01Oh.
00:53:01You look nice.
00:53:05You go somewhere?
00:53:06Uh, yeah.
00:53:07Uh, Barry.
00:53:10Was he picking you up?
00:53:11Um, no.
00:53:12Actually, I'm meeting him at this party.
00:53:17Well, you have fun.
00:53:21You too.
00:53:21You too.
00:53:21I chose seats just in the middle, right up here.
00:53:39Works for me.
00:53:40Hey.
00:53:48Thanks for suggesting this.
00:53:51Thanks for coming.
00:53:52You're here.
00:54:07Great.
00:54:09Come in.
00:54:10Welcome.
00:54:11Okay.
00:54:11Okay.
00:54:11Everyone, this is Emma Hutton.
00:54:20The Emma Hutton.
00:54:22An outstanding actress.
00:54:23Hi.
00:54:24Hi.
00:54:25Hi, Emma.
00:54:25Hello.
00:54:26I am way overdressed.
00:54:28What?
00:54:28No, no, no, no.
00:54:29You look fabulous.
00:54:31Come on.
00:54:31Let's get started.
00:54:32Started.
00:54:33Oh.
00:54:34Everyone, as you all know, I have always wanted to act.
00:54:40And Jocelyn here has a killer script.
00:54:44I think you're going to love it as we read through it tonight.
00:54:47So, grab a drink and some food, and we'll get going.
00:54:52What is going on?
00:54:55What do you mean?
00:54:56It's just, you said this was going to be a party.
00:54:59It is.
00:55:00It's a script reading.
00:55:01I would know because I've sat through them.
00:55:04Trust me.
00:55:05We're going to have a great time.
00:55:12Dad?
00:55:13I don't know.
00:55:15No.
00:55:23I don't know.
00:55:23All time.
00:55:24I don't know.
00:55:24All time.
00:55:24I want you to have to do it.
00:55:25camera pulls back the rain falls around our hero undeterred he boldly stands in the elements
00:55:38the people cheer for him fade to black
00:55:41wasn't that wonderful jocelyn you're so talented
00:55:48so emma what do you think
00:55:53ah it was interesting you're so connected and the moment we met i knew we were all destined to work
00:56:03together well how did you see that we got an awesome story i've always wanted to act and
00:56:10you can play the role of chelsea so how can we make it happen you know i i need a refill
00:56:18so what did you think i liked it you oh i loved it good thanks
00:56:28again for coming with me i'm glad i did are you hungry do you want a bite to eat yeah that sounds great
00:56:39everything okay yeah um it was different than i expected i know right
00:56:51the script takes you in a totally different direction than you'd think
00:56:54no i why am i here what do you mean you asked to see me the other night and tonight
00:57:03you inspire me
00:57:06okay okay i wish all my life to do what you do but my father envisioned me as bell and whatever
00:57:17junior partner but this doesn't have to be a dream if i can show him this can be real that
00:57:24i have a shot
00:57:26how did you come across jocelyn's work
00:57:33oh i've always told her she's creative she thought i was just saying that because of her
00:57:38boyfriend but i think she gets it now so tell me honestly do you think we can get this movie going
00:57:47for all of us oh wow what did you tell him i gave him my new agent's number and that's it
00:57:55well i called ahead and i told my agent to take it somewhat seriously you know hey this is barry
00:58:00he wants to act he has this new project etc etc you are nicer than i am barry led you on
00:58:07i don't think he meant to i mean by the way you were describing how he was acting towards you
00:58:12well he's kind of got a flirtatious personality and now that i think about it every conversation
00:58:18we had was about acting it was just business to him and i don't think i can fault him for it
00:58:24why not having broken zane's heart without realizing he had feelings for me can i really
00:58:30put down barry okay fine but are you okay yeah if i don't dwell on how i misread everything and how
00:58:38gray's going to tease me about it yeah i'm fine well don't tell gray then he's gonna figure out that
00:58:44my relationship fizzled out somehow but then let him figure it out you don't have to tell him the
00:58:49details okay class time i'm gonna get out of your way okay hang in there let me know how it goes okay
00:59:14hey how are you good do you want to do something tonight i was thinking of you know staying in and
00:59:26maybe having a girls night or something oh i can't i had to come home for my lunch because i wasn't
00:59:31gonna have time to come get an outfit later oh what are you doing gray invited me over for dinner
00:59:36you did yeah just you yeah well that's great i should probably hurry back yes yes you should go bye
01:00:06hello hello i did oh thank you thank you so much
01:00:23you headed out yeah did you hear uh what emma got that role she wanted that's great
01:00:31uh liz and i are headed over to celebrate you coming no i'm going on a date with hope
01:00:36oh well that's great that makes sense i just wasn't expecting it she's nice yeah i like her
01:00:47is emma okay with it why wouldn't she be well i don't know she's been trying to set up hope for a
01:00:52while she'll get over it and i thought you and emma you're good friends and and maybe i thought there
01:01:05might be something deeper than friendship at times i'm like the brother emma's never had that's not
01:01:11what i meant she goes on dates tells me about her latest love life maybe i should do the same
01:01:18give someone a chance
01:01:24the director said that the studio execs loved me they saw my range and they realized that i could
01:01:30really make this movie stand out when do you start filming a week from tuesday i have so much to do i
01:01:36have to meet with the director go over the character fight choreography costume fitting ugh and i really
01:01:43need to get started on memorizing my lines the character is no don't spoil it so gray needs to get going on
01:01:50your contract then yeah it'll be fine i'll tell him tomorrow you haven't told him not yet
01:01:56well i thought it'd be your first call where is he tonight on a date i didn't think he dated much
01:02:05i guess he is starting with who hope that's sweet isn't it yeah
01:02:17well i was trying to set her up with someone so gray kind of derailed my plans there
01:02:25it's fine it happens this next scene is great though scene 30.
01:02:34okay here in the aftermath of the battle i think she would be shaken i like it i like it because
01:02:42that's the opposite of what you'd expect in such a moment of triumph exactly instead of glorying in her
01:02:49victory she's vulnerable but what about when she faces mordak am i saying that right yes yes i want
01:02:58her to doubt herself and then she becomes overconfident when he stumbles and then she's doubtful again
01:03:07got it excuse me we have a problem with our more tech actor he broke his leg water skiing
01:03:12oh well what other options do we have here's who the studio wants okay sorry emma oh no problem
01:03:20oh emma we haven't received your contract back yet oh i texted my lawyer about it he said he's just
01:03:24going through it and i'll get back to you thank you okay hi hope yeah yeah no lunch sounds great okay
01:03:37all right see you then bye let's go all right where were we
01:03:48great is so kind every moment i spend with him makes me like him more oh good so you two are
01:03:58dating then i guess so i don't know it's you know so early still but i wanted your input mine tell me
01:04:07about him everything oh okay yeah yeah uh where do you want me to begin uh his family um okay uh
01:04:17well it's his parents and his younger brother and um his dad is a chief something or other of a company
01:04:25he's retired and his mother is a doctor and she's actually still practicing wow that's
01:04:33intimidating don't worry you're a dentist you've worked and studied hard to get where you are too
01:04:39so what made gray go into law school he saw what it was like to be a doctor from his mom
01:04:46and you know what it was like to be in business from his dad and i think he just he wanted something
01:04:53different and um i remember when i found out he got into law school he was so proud about a month
01:05:00and then though he hated it why it's so competitive you know and i think he liked the challenge and he
01:05:06liked what he learned but he just didn't love the atmosphere you know he even considered quitting
01:05:12yeah and he knew though if he did he'd be mad at himself later and i told him the only thing that
01:05:18mattered was if he was happy or if he could be happy with whatever he chose and i i had gotten this role
01:05:25it was my first full film and they sent me a contract didn't really know what to think of it
01:05:31so i asked gray and you know he explained everything to me and what questions to ask and
01:05:39it really got him thinking that maybe contracts in a specific industry were
01:05:43better suited for him than you know the the usual field that's how he came to be your lawyer
01:05:49yes yes i knew i could always trust him you know he's my he's my best friend
01:05:59well what about things he likes oh you don't want me to tell you everything
01:06:05if you like him don't miss out on getting to know him yourself
01:06:25and five six seven and a one a three four awesome good job very nice you guys thank you so much
01:06:32uh keep practicing those leaps and we'll see you next week good job
01:06:37emma what's wrong is eleanor here yet i know she's supposed to be i texted her to meet i'm here
01:06:43what's going on i thought i could ignore it but i can't what great what did he do nothing um it's just
01:06:53you know he and hope are dating and it kept bothering me and you know i thought it was like oh it's just
01:07:00because i couldn't match them or maybe it's because things didn't work out between me and barry and
01:07:08it's not that so what's bothering you then i love him i love gray i'm so happy for you
01:07:20okay but are you sure what kind of question is that well i mean let's face it emma can be a bit
01:07:26oblivious when it comes to romance which is remarkable considering how many times she acts
01:07:30like she falls in love in movies okay she's not oblivious yeah i'm not okay but you date someone
01:07:36and then you realize that there's something that you don't like about them and so you turn your
01:07:39attention to pairing up other people until somebody else catches your attention just because she hasn't
01:07:45really fallen in love before doesn't mean she hasn't wanted it this whole time yes what she said
01:07:49okay but what i mean is are you sure that it's love and not just jealousy because gray's attention is on
01:07:56someone else
01:08:03it's not jealousy
01:08:08i just think of all the times gray and i have spent together and this warmth just fills my soul
01:08:19it's like he's every happy moment in my life
01:08:27you are in love of course she is but he's with hope now so i i can't interfere with that i i don't
01:08:38want to hurt hope again and i don't want to hurt gray either how would that hurt gray i don't know if
01:08:45he sees me as one of his clients like i thought of zane like what if i'm the zane here you are not
01:08:51the zane you need to tell him how you feel unless you're scared that he may not feel the same way
01:08:58like it'll make your friendship awkward yes that's eleanor don't make her doubt you need to tell gray how
01:09:03you feel what about hope yeah what about her she'll get over it liz what if she's a good friend she's
01:09:11gonna want this for emma that's a two-way street what if hope and gray are happy i mean no think
01:09:19about it when was the last time gray dated anybody and you know hope she's she's sweet and she's smart
01:09:28and can i blame him for saying that too
01:09:32gray and i have been best friends for years i miss my chance
01:09:46but i want him to be happy too
01:09:50even if that means i won't be a part of the happiness
01:09:54come here
01:10:02very great good to see you did emma tell you she set up a meeting for me with her agent
01:10:14no why i'm getting into the business don't tell my father though yet yeah emma read a script that my
01:10:23hold on this is her hey baby no i can talk i'm not doing anything
01:10:32if there is no if our chances are so poor do we give up then no we hold for hope
01:10:44uh spread the word fall back to the forest the fight for our very salvation is just the beginning
01:10:51hey thought i heard you back here have a contract for you to sign oh thank you
01:10:56everything all right um i'm just nervous about this role you'll do fine
01:11:08you have everything you want yeah
01:11:18hey i'm happy for you me too i mean for you you know you and hope that's that's great thanks
01:11:32and i guess you saved me from pairing her up with someone else so it's probably a good thing after zane definitely
01:11:39i can't fault her choice you're the best any woman could ask for
01:11:54thank you
01:11:58i should really i'm so behind in my lines i should be practicing yeah uh you do that and uh
01:12:04i'll see you later yes
01:12:21it's so simple but people ignore all the time you know i think i had a slew of cavities when i was a
01:12:26kid before i started the whole flossing device well you're not alone i should be thankful because it
01:12:31keeps the dental industry going thanks for tonight i had a good time are we still on for the movies this
01:12:42weekend sure i'll pick up the tickets okay good night hope good night
01:13:01when are you gonna grow up you're so immature oh yeah this was your idea anyway i won't stay and waste away here
01:13:17the only wasting was barry was his credit card bill for having no clients he sure took a lot of work
01:13:22lunches are you surprised he quit no wonder what emma's gonna think about all this why would she care
01:13:30they're dating yeah that never really happened that relationship was pretty much over before it began
01:13:37what why didn't she tell me maybe she didn't want to distract you with you and hope dating
01:13:44oh great what another contract from one of my more difficult clients sorry better get back to work
01:13:52you did great good job now remember to floss guys right thanks guys see you next time thanks
01:14:05hi hey i have those reservations for 6 30. oh perfect i'm just finishing a few things up great how was your
01:14:13day i survived well that bad it's just this one client you know that i had a lot of entertainment
01:14:21contracts like for actors like emma yeah actors actresses some of them could just be so bossy
01:14:29it's like you can't even talk to them it's like they're condescending to even address you you're
01:14:35kidding although i guess i shouldn't be that surprised right never mind the fact that i have
01:14:40a law degree successful career and then i'm good at my job i'm sorry it's not just me either unless
01:14:47it's someone they need a favor from they're vicious yeah lawyers get the bad reputation lucky me
01:14:55listen you're the best and if your clients can't see that well then that's their loss
01:15:02thanks i never thought you'd have to deal with something like that well mean people
01:15:07in law no people who look down on you well i may have been spoiled from the beginning emma was my
01:15:15first client but she was never like that and she was already a friend yeah she's always been nice to
01:15:23other people she's never done the whole i'm gonna talk down to you just because i think i can that
01:15:29others do yeah i see what you mean it's what i admire about her she's never let the camera the fame whatever
01:15:39it is change her she's always been emma at heart
01:15:48you really admire her what do you mean you love her
01:15:53it's all right i thought it was just friendship a special one but nothing more and she was dating
01:16:03someone and you said yes so i just hope we're not no i i know there's nothing going on between you two
01:16:11but i can see that you care for her and i think that she loves you too and i just don't want to stand
01:16:18in the way of that we're friends we're not going to be anything more than that well not if you don't
01:16:23try have you have you talked to her about how you feel it doesn't matter i'm seeing you well maybe you
01:16:34shouldn't anymore gray think about it be honest with yourself besides i'm not too crazy about being
01:16:47someone's second choice what now then for me i'm fine just focusing on work for a while without worrying
01:16:59about dating but i'd still like to be your friend me too
01:17:17come in hey hey happy first day of your movie thank you you'll do great oh thanks
01:17:26uh have you talked to gray lately uh no i've been busy of course uh you should though i just
01:17:37i've been saying things and thinking and he and i are kind of i'm sorry i need to get going it's never
01:17:45gets to be light on the first day oh of course um can we catch up later though you bet okay i hope
01:17:50everything goes great thank you
01:17:56thank you you're welcome
01:17:57may i join you hey yeah
01:18:09job listings huh are you jumping ship not at all but i know this is temporary well i can check at the firm

01:18:27auditor huh yeah uh help sort through receipts from past decade for an internal revenue service audit
01:18:37sounds thrilling
01:18:41how are you doing okay i guess
01:18:45hope hope said we shouldn't go out anymore that's unexpected i thought she liked you
01:18:56she thinks she thinks that i'm in love with emma
01:19:00so what do you think
01:19:07so what are you doing here
01:19:11i've known her a long time but i don't even know how she feels
01:19:17you should go see her talk to her because how she feels is something you should hear directly from her
01:19:30so
01:19:41All right, everyone, are we ready?
01:20:00Last looks, please.
01:20:01Yes, go.
01:20:04All right, let's go.
01:20:08Okay, everybody get in position, please.
01:20:09Here we go.
01:20:11And let's roll it.
01:20:13Here, please.
01:20:15Scene 45, take one, marker.
01:20:18And action.
01:20:25My lady, we won't succeed.
01:20:28If we fail now, we never recover.
01:20:31We never return to any happiness nor peace,
01:20:35which so many of us have fought for since we were children.
01:20:38What are we to do?
01:20:39You are to lead us, aren't you?
01:20:41Tell us.
01:20:43We retreat.
01:20:45Retreat?
01:20:46We must.
01:20:47Not for our own lives, but for those of every village near and far.
01:20:53What difference will it make whether we die today or in another battle?
01:20:56Yes.
01:20:57That's right.
01:20:58If our chances are so poor, do we give up, then?
01:21:03No.
01:21:04We hold to hope.
01:21:09Oh, that's your answer.
01:21:11When there is none other, yes.
01:21:14Spread the word.
01:21:16Fall back to the forest.
01:21:18The fight for our very salvation is just the beginning.
01:21:21And cut.
01:21:25I'm about to cut.
01:21:26Emma.
01:21:27Emma.
01:21:27That was great.
01:21:30Just a little bobble on the hope line, but it was great.
01:21:32The emotion, very strong.
01:21:35Now, what do you think if we gradually work into the confidence?
01:21:38Let it slowly ramp up and then boom.
01:21:41I like it.
01:21:41Yeah.
01:21:42Can I have a moment?
01:21:44Yes, of course.
01:21:45All right, everyone, let's reset.
01:21:47What are you doing here?
01:21:51I know I don't do this.
01:21:53Oh, no.
01:21:54You're fine.
01:21:54I'm surprised.
01:21:56I just couldn't wait until later.
01:21:58For what?
01:21:59To see you.
01:22:01I don't know what happened.
01:22:02No, nothing's wrong.
01:22:03Nothing's wrong.
01:22:04I, uh, I've waited a long time to just tell you that I love you.
01:22:15You do?
01:22:16Yeah.
01:22:17I love you.
01:22:18And I know our family forced us to endure each other's company when we were younger.
01:22:23But somewhere along the way, we became friends, didn't we?
01:22:28Of course.
01:22:29And somewhere after that, I always hoped we'd be more than friends.
01:22:37And that you would see me as that, too.
01:22:40And then you started dating Barry, and I just thought I had to move on.
01:22:46The one about Hope.
01:22:47She's fine.
01:22:48We're not seeing each other anymore.
01:22:50She actually was the one that helped me figure out how I feel.
01:22:53She did?
01:22:54Yeah.
01:22:55And it doesn't matter what she or anyone else thinks.
01:22:59Only you.
01:23:10I love you, too.
01:23:13I always have.
01:23:15I just didn't realize it until I thought it was too late.
01:23:20You're not.
01:23:23Good.
01:23:25Because I do love you.
01:23:29Until makeup, we're going to need touch-ups again.
