00:00:00Now ladies and gentlemen, have a look over here to the left. This is the new
00:00:04Millionaire Come Billionaire's Row over here. You can see the big white house in the corner.
00:00:08Now that lights up like a Christmas tree at night. It's so bright. I think NASA
00:00:12actually uses a reference point from outer space. Brand new house. The fourth
00:00:17house. Some of the four palm trees are owned by a cotton farmer by the name of Tom.
00:00:21Now what makes that house interesting is the actual palm trees themselves. Tom
00:00:24paid close to $80,000 for each tree to get bought in fully grown. The big house on
00:00:30the hill behind. This one with a red roof. This used to be owned by the lead singer of
00:00:34Inexcess and Mr. Michael Hutchins. This big red roof house has actually got a copper
00:00:39roof. This one had a big three-story mansion on a tour recently. They
00:00:44knocked it down to build that one. Big house. House next to it. The big Victorian style
00:00:49house. This one set a record recently as the most expensive house sold under
00:00:53auction conditions. And that sold for $24.8 million. The house next to it. The
00:00:59three-story one went on the market about a week after that sold. That was described as
00:01:03the owner's trophy house. I do believe everyone should have a trophy house. I've
00:01:08personally got one. It's a participation trophy in my case. But still, trophy's a trophy.
00:01:13The two houses on the end are owned by a couple of local surgeons. You've got a
00:01:16gastroenterologist and a cardiovascular surgeon. Now they can have a big house if they want one.
00:01:21They work with their hands. They work horrible hours. Do jobs I wouldn't want to do. So,
00:01:25good luck to them. Might even save my life one day. Get going. Welcome aboard the boat. Have a
00:01:31lovely day. I got no excuses for all of these goodbyes. Call me when it's over. Cause I'm dying inside.
00:01:53Wake me when the shakes are gone. And the cold sweats disappear. Call me when it's over and myself has
00:02:03reappeared. I don't know, I don't know, I don't know, I don't know why. I do it every, every, every time. It's only
00:02:13when I'm lonely when I'm lonely. Sometimes I just want to cave and I don't want to fight. I try and I try and I try and I try and I try and I try. Just hold me. I'm lonely.
00:02:27Mama, I'm so sorry. I'm not sober anymore. Daddy, please forgive me for the drinks spilled on the floor. To the ones who never left me, we've been down this road before.
00:02:45I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry. I'm not sober anymore.
00:03:02I'm sorry to my future love. For the man that left my bed. For making love the way I saved for you inside my head.
00:03:12And I'm sorry for the fans I lost. Who watched me fall again. I wanna be a role model. But I'm only human.
00:03:26I don't know, I don't know, I don't know, I don't know why. I do it every, every, every time. It's only when I'm lonely.
00:03:35Sometimes I just want to cave and I don't want to fight. I try and I try and I try and I try and I try and I try. Just hold me. I'm lonely.
00:03:47Mama, I'm so sorry. I'm not sober anymore. Daddy, please forgive me for the drinks spilled on the floor. To the ones who never left me, we've been down this road before.
00:04:04I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry. I'm not sober anymore.
00:04:27Now ladies and gentlemen look officially welcome aboard the boat. My name's Peter. I'm going to be your captain for the cruise.
00:04:33Just call me sir or captain. Okay, I'll give it nice and simple. I think it's probably a bit easier when you think of it.
00:04:38Got the lovely Emily and Louie looking after you to anything you need to see these lovely ladies. I'll get your sword.
00:04:44Bridge, you would think so. Yes, anywhere else in the same world, that would be the blue bridge.
00:04:48Not on the Gold Coast. It's actually been named the green bridge, alright. Now if you are upstairs, it's very important to keep your heads ducked down.
00:04:55We don't want to dent this little bridge. Cost $19.5 million to build and get the colour on.
00:05:00Now folks, over here to the right, you have got the um, the hotter complex.
00:05:13Now you can see the big, the home of the arts complex basically.
00:05:16Yeah, big grey structure in the background there. It looks like an alien spaceship.
00:05:20That's a big open air auditorium where they have live bands and shows. It's a beautiful stage.
00:05:25The colourful building in the background is our new art gallery. $60.6 million worth of art gallery sitting over there.
00:05:30Free admission to get into it.
00:05:32A little cafe bar at the top too with great views of the coast.
00:05:35The colourful building right beside us is the original home of the arts theatre building.
00:05:38That's got a movie theatre, a performing arts theatre. There's a comedy club in the basement.
00:05:42They have a great farmer's market there every Sunday morning too, which is well worth it if you get a chance.
00:05:47They'll hear it referred to as the hotter complex, which is basically...
00:05:50Sugar plantation. A harvested sugar cane is transported to the nearby Benoes Sugar Mill for processing.
00:05:56It is now a commercial and industrial area with a number of large corporations operating in the area.
00:06:03It is also home to the Gold Coast Turf Club, which has the magic in the woods race engine.
00:06:08As well as our own great local community radio station, 94.5 FM.
00:06:19Thanks, here we go. Another little bridge coming up here.
00:06:21If you're upstairs, duck your heads. We don't want to hear any clumps, bumps.
00:06:23High pitch, screaming on bowling ball sounds from the top of the hill.
00:06:27Try not to disturb the little bats while they sleep under the bridge too.
00:06:30They can get a cord in your hair and make a hell of a mess.
00:06:32If you do, don't look up. If you do, keep in touch. Here we go.
00:06:53Over to our right-hand side is Chevron Island.
00:07:00That is Goat's Island.
00:07:02Chevron Island was attached to Bundle.
00:07:05The remainder of the island was surrounded by the Narang River.
00:07:08It was originally called Goat's Island due to the proximity to salt water,
00:07:12which led to dry grass growing on the island with unproductive farming and fires.
00:07:17The goats were on the island to keep the grass down and eliminate these problems.
00:07:22In 1957, the Gold Coast City Council started dredging the island.
00:07:27And by 1961, it was a complete island known as Chevron Island.
00:07:32It is a small exclusive island, not officially a suburb of the Gold Coast in its own right.
00:07:38And you will find houses dating back to the 1960s.
00:07:42Two examples are over on the right-hand side here.
00:07:46Developers buy these properties up, knock them down and build more modern duplexes.
00:07:52An example of such a duplex is here on the right-hand side, the three-storey white one.
00:07:59Each of the units in this duplex sold for $3 million.
00:08:05They both include a plunge book as well as a movie theatre.
00:08:11House prices on the island start from around $1 million and go upwards of $10 million on the eastern side.
00:08:22Next, on our right-hand side, you will see a little blue bridge, which is the only way on and off the next island.
00:08:29It is named Cronin Island.
00:08:32Cronin Island was named after designer Jack Cronin, and it is a man-made island.
00:08:38It has 33 houses on it, all of which are built on the waterfront too.
00:08:44In the centre, there is a large reserve or parkland for the local residents.
00:08:49The island's claim to fame was back in 1983 when the first property in Queensland to sell for over $1 million was here on Cronin Island.
00:09:00House prices generally start from around $3 million and go upwards of $12 million on the eastern side.
00:09:07It is a sign-up .
00:09:10First, it is a sign-up .
00:09:11But it's not a sign-up to try.
00:09:12Keep walking legs to the south .
00:09:13It may be in a distance in the middle and get lost.
00:09:15Now, the last one is a sign-up .
00:09:17The front one is a sign-up .
00:09:18The next one is the sign-up .
00:09:19You can switch it up.
00:09:20There are two fish in the sides.
00:09:21Have a flat-down .
00:09:23now folks have a look over here this house on the right with a lovely flame
00:09:44trees at the back this one's a beauty now this house sold recently for 18.5
00:09:52million dollars 185 million it's an interesting house it's got glass walls you can see straight
00:09:58through it and out the other side designer holes cut in the roof for the trees to go through
00:10:04very similar to my house actually though it's got holes in the roof three million dollar tennis
00:10:09court for people who really love playing tennis most of the homes you see today are empty to the
00:10:14holiday homes investment properties house banks or airbnbs you don't see too many signs of life
00:10:18educational caretaker butler cleaner on football team that's normally about it
00:10:22probably the bigger the house the less light it is to be used
00:10:25also on our right hand side on cronin island you will see two storey white home with two palm trees
00:10:33this property was previously owned by stanley ho a wealthy chinese businessman
00:10:38this company owns 19 account casinos as well as various other enterprises

00:11:06I'm sorry to my future love
00:11:18For the man that left my bed
00:11:22For making love the way I saved for you inside my head
00:11:26And I'm sorry for the fans I lost
00:11:30Who watched me fall again
00:11:33I wanna be your role model
00:11:35But I'm only human
00:11:37I don't know, I don't know, I don't know, I don't know why
00:11:42I do it every, every, every time
00:11:45It's only when I'm lonely
00:11:48Sometimes I just wanna cave in, I don't wanna fight
00:11:53I try and I try and I try and I try and I try and I try
00:11:56Just hold me, I'm lonely
00:12:00Mama, I'm so sorry, I'm not sober anymore
00:12:06And daddy, please forgive me for the drinks spilled on the floor
00:12:12To the ones who never left me
00:12:15We've been down this road before
00:12:18I'm so sorry, I'm not sober anymore
00:12:25I'm not sober anymore
00:12:36I'm sorry that I'm here again
00:12:48I promise I'll get help
00:12:51It wasn't my intention
00:12:54I'm sorry to myself
00:12:56The majority of the canals and waterway systems on the Gold Coast are manmade
00:13:06And it was the ingenuity of a former Lord Mayor of the Gold Coast
00:13:11By the name of Bruce Small
00:13:13Who developed the marshes that were predominantly in the area
00:13:16Into waterfront properties
00:13:18His master plan has resulted in over 446 kilometres of waterways and canals
00:13:25Which equates to 9 times more than the city of Venice
00:13:49The area on our right is known as Paradise Waters
00:13:51Originally it was all swamp land before being dredged out to make manmade islands
00:13:56For all these beautiful properties that you can see
00:13:59Once again, all the properties in this area are built on the waterfront
00:14:03And house prices start for around $2 million
00:14:06Going upwards to around $10 million
00:14:09Now on the right, the three-storing house that you can see
00:14:14Well this is one for the ladies on board
00:14:16It has a 13-man lift inside
00:14:19But also, most importantly
00:14:21It has a fully functioning hairdressing salon on the top floor
00:14:25So that the lady of the house doesn't need to go out to get her hair done
00:14:29But rather can stay in
00:14:31Now folks, have a look over here to the right
00:14:42We're coming up to a big house with blue windows
00:14:44This chappy paid $9.4 million for the land alone over there
00:14:48That's back a few years ago when money was worth something
00:14:51He had a working budget of $40 to $50 million to build the house itself
00:14:55So that's a pretty impressive process of it
00:14:57No one famous that you'd know unless you're into crypto currency
00:15:06Interesting house, it's got a big, um
00:15:08It's got a big family
00:15:11He's going to use it once or twice a year as a holiday home
00:15:13It's looking like the second of the two
00:15:14I haven't seen much sound in the life of that since it was built
00:15:16The thing that really disappoints me with this house
00:15:19Is the size of the television
00:15:20Have a look at it in there
00:15:21It's nowhere near big enough
00:15:22You're going to have a house that big
00:15:23You need like a thousand inch TV in every room
00:15:25Including the bathroom, not that tiny thing
00:15:27Do I have to tip my hat to his gardening skills?
00:15:30Oh, he's obviously got a bit of a green thumb, hasn't he?
00:15:31Sorry
00:15:32My friends, they want to take me to the movies
00:15:42I tell them to fuck off
00:15:44I'm holding hands with my depression
00:15:46And right when I think of overcoming
00:15:49Anxiety starts kicking in to teach that shit a lesson
00:15:53Oh, I try my best just to be social
00:15:56I'll make all these plans with friends and hope they call and cancel
00:16:00Then I overthink about the things I'm missing
00:16:02Now I'm wishing
00:16:04I was with them
00:16:06Feel like I'm always apologizing for feeling
00:16:09Like I'm out of my mind when I'm doing just fine
00:16:13My exes will say that I'm hard to deal with
00:16:16And I admit it
00:16:18Yeah
00:16:20But all my friends, they don't know
00:16:24What it's like
00:16:26What it's like
00:16:28They don't understand why
00:16:31I can't sleep through the night
00:16:34I've been told that I could take something to fix it
00:16:37Damn, I wish it
00:16:38I wish it was that simple
00:16:40Ah
00:16:40All my friends, they don't know
00:16:44What it's like
00:16:46What it's like
00:16:48Always wanted to be one of those people in the room
00:16:50That says something and everyone puts their hand up
00:16:53Like if you're sad, put your hand up
00:16:55If you hate someone, put your hand up
00:16:57If you're scared, put your hand up
00:17:00Feel like I'm always apologizing for feeling
00:17:03Like I'm out of my mind when I'm doing just fine
00:17:07And my exes will say that I'm hard to deal with
00:17:10And I admit it
00:17:12It's true
00:17:14But all my friends, they don't know
00:17:18What it's like
00:17:20What it's like
00:17:22They don't understand why
00:17:25I can't sleep through the night
00:17:28And I thought that I could take something to fix it
00:17:31Damn, I wish it
00:17:32I wish it was that simple
00:17:34All my friends, they don't know
00:17:38What it's like
00:17:40What it's like
00:17:41I wish it was like
00:17:42How Am I
00:18:08I don't know.
00:18:38All my friends they don't know what it's like, what it's like
00:18:59They don't understand why I can't sleep through the night
00:19:06And I thought that I could take something to fix it
00:19:08And I wish it, I wish it was that simple
00:19:11I, but all my friends they don't know what it's like, what it's like
00:19:19I've had a start running through my mind all the damn time
00:19:23And I can't seem to shut it off, I think I'm doing fine
00:19:27Most of the time, I think that I'm alright
00:19:30But I can't seem to shut it off
00:19:32I've had a start running through my mind all the damn time
00:19:37And I can't seem to shut it off, I think I'm doing fine
00:19:40Most of the time, I say that I'm alright
00:19:44But I can't seem to shut it off
00:19:46But all my friends they don't know what it's like, what it's like
00:20:00They don't understand why I can't sleep through the night
00:20:06I've been told that I could take something to fix it
00:20:09And I wish it, I wish it was that simple
00:20:12I, all my friends they don't know what it's like, what it's like
00:20:20Love, love, love, love, love, love, what it's like
00:20:23What it's like, what it's like
00:20:27What it's like
00:20:29I love this song
00:20:37Now for a little bit of history about the area.
00:20:44This area is also known as Narrowneck.
00:20:48In the 1870s, a German immigrant by the name of Johan Meyer
00:20:51set up a private ferry service over the Narrow River,
00:20:55ferrying people to the newly established hotels.
00:20:59Service paradise previously was known as Elston.
00:21:03And in 1917, a Brisbane real estate company
00:21:05started to market the newly popular area as a surfer's paradise.
00:21:12A couple of years later, a Brisbane hotelier by the name of Jim Cavill
00:21:16came to the area and he established the Surfer's Paradise Hotel in 1925.
00:21:22He went on to lobby the government strongly to have the name changed
00:21:25from Elston to Surfer's Paradise and was successful in doing so in 1933.
00:21:31In the 1940s, with World War II, came servicemen looking for a place to relax
00:21:37and by the early 1950s, the region was formerly known as the Gold Coast.
00:21:45In the 60s and 70s, it established itself as like a top tourist destination.
00:21:50And we have now have over 12 million tourists in a year visit the area
00:21:56with a half a million panel of tourists.
00:22:03On our left, you'll see TSS, the Southport School.
00:22:08It's one of the oldest Anglican schools in Queensland
00:22:11and the only all-boys boarding school on the Gold Coast.
00:22:15TSS was founded in 1901 by Reverend Horace Henry Dixon
00:22:20and in 1909, the establishment of boarding houses occurred.
00:22:27Today, it has over 1,300 students
00:22:29with approximately 250 of those being boarders.
00:22:34If you're looking at sending your sons there,
00:22:36it's around $30,000 a year for day students
00:22:40and approximately $50,000 a year to board.
00:22:44The school is big on these sporting achievements,
00:22:47having produced quite a number of well-known athletes,
00:22:50including Adam Scott, the golfer,
00:22:53and Matty Rogers, the rugby league player.
00:22:57The name has been valued for over 100 years,
00:23:00as the building valuation,
00:23:01and approximately $60,000 a year for the world.
00:23:04Now, ladies and gentlemen, have a look over here to the left.
00:23:20This is the new Millionaire Come Billionaire's Row over here.
00:23:23You can see the big white house in the corner.
00:23:25Now, that lights up like a Christmas tree at night.
00:23:27It's so bright.
00:23:28I think NASA actually uses a reference point
00:23:30from outer space, a brand-new house.
00:23:32The fourth house, some of the four palm trees
00:23:35is owned by a cotton farmer by the name of Tom.
00:23:37Now, what makes that house interesting
00:23:39is the actual palm trees themselves.
00:23:41Tom paid close to $80,000 for each tree
00:23:44to get bought in fully grown.
00:23:46The big house on the hill behind,
00:23:48this one with a red roof.
00:23:49This used to be owned by the lead singer of InXS
00:23:51and Mr. Michael Hutchins.
00:23:53This big red roof house has actually got a copper roof.
00:23:57This one had a big three-story mansion on it
00:24:00until recently.
00:24:01They knocked it down to build that one.
00:24:02Big house.
00:24:04The house next to it, the big Victorian-style house.
00:24:06This one set a record recently
00:24:08as the most expensive house sold under auction conditions,
00:24:11and that sold for $24.8 million.
00:24:14The house next to it,
00:24:15the three-story one went on the market
00:24:17about a week after that sold.
00:24:19That was described as the owner's trophy house.
00:24:22I do believe everyone should have a trophy house.
00:24:24I've personally got one.
00:24:25It's a participation trophy in my case,
00:24:27but still, trophy's a trophy.
00:24:28The two houses on the end
00:24:31are owned by a couple of local surgeons.
00:24:33You've got a gastroenterologist
00:24:34and a cardiovascular surgeon.
00:24:36Now, they can have a big house if they want one.
00:24:37They work with their hands.
00:24:38They work horrible hours,
00:24:40do jobs I wouldn't want to do,
00:24:41so good luck to them.
00:24:43Might even save my life one day.
00:24:44Would you tell me what you're thinking?
00:24:48Because you're really not saying much of anything.
00:24:53On and on, we play this game,
00:24:55and I'm just trying to make you happy.
00:24:59And I'm tired of second-guessing
00:25:00everything we are.
00:25:03Hanging by a thread,
00:25:05and I'm just swimming in a motion.
00:25:09Got me overdosing.
00:25:13I can't tell if you still feel the same.
00:25:17We're not the way we once were.
00:25:20Tell me, is this over?
00:25:23I gotta know.
00:25:24Cause you're the best damn thing
00:25:27that I've ever had.
00:25:28You're the best damn thing
00:25:29that I've ever had.
00:25:31And I don't know what to do
00:25:32if I ever lose you.
00:25:35Cause you're the best damn thing
00:25:37that I've ever had.
00:25:38But I can't do much if you're over it.
00:25:41So tell me what to do.
00:25:43Cause I wanna be the best damn thing
00:25:46that you've had to do.
00:25:48Oh, oh.
00:25:51Oh, oh.
00:25:52Cause I wanna be the best damn thing
00:25:56that you've got to.
00:25:57I'm gonna tell you what I'm thinking.
00:26:00Cause I want you to know
00:26:01just where I'm coming from.
00:26:04On and on we stay the same.
00:26:07When I say I'm what we're feeling.
00:26:10Gotta fix all of the demons
00:26:12that are haunting us.
00:26:14Tell me, is this not what you want?
00:26:18Swimming in a motion.
00:26:20Got me overdosing.
00:26:24I can't tell if you still feel the same.
00:26:28We're not the way we once were.
00:26:31Tell me, is this over?
00:26:34I gotta know.
00:26:37Cause you're the best damn thing
00:26:38that I've ever had.
00:26:40You're the best damn thing
00:26:41that I've ever had.
00:26:42And I don't know what to do
00:26:44if I ever lose you.
00:26:47Cause you're the best damn thing
00:26:49that I've ever had.
00:26:50But I can't do much
00:26:51if you're over it.
00:26:52So tell me what to do.
00:26:55Cause I wanna be the best damn thing
00:26:57that you've had too.
00:27:00Oh, oh.
00:27:02Oh, oh.
00:27:05Cause I wanna be the best damn thing
00:27:07that you've had.
00:27:08Is this not what you want?
00:27:11Swimming in a motion.
00:27:13Swimming in a motion.
00:27:15Got me overdosing.
00:27:18I can't tell if you still feel the same.
00:27:22We're not the way we once were.
00:27:25Tell me, is this over?
00:27:28I gotta know.
00:27:29Cause you're the best damn thing
00:27:32that I've ever had.
00:27:34You're the best damn thing
00:27:35that I've ever had.
00:27:36And I don't know what to do
00:27:38if I ever lose you.
00:27:41Cause you're the best damn thing
00:27:43that I've ever had.
00:27:44But I can't do much
00:27:45if you're over it.
00:27:46So tell me what to do.
00:27:49Cause I wanna be the best damn thing
00:27:51that you've had too.
00:27:53Cause I wanna be the best damn thing
00:28:01that you've had.
00:28:03So you can take it
00:28:04or you can leave it.
00:28:05Cause I can't do this anymore.
00:28:09Oh, oh.
00:28:12Hey.
00:28:13So if you want it
00:28:14then you can have it.
00:28:15Maybe we can have it all.
00:28:19Ooh, baby.
00:28:22Cause you're the best damn thing
00:28:23that I've ever had.
00:28:25You're the best damn thing
00:28:26that I've ever had.
00:28:27And I don't know what to do
00:28:29if I ever lose you.
00:28:32Cause you're the best damn thing
00:28:34that I've ever had.
00:28:35But I can't do much
00:28:36if you're over it.
00:28:37So tell me what to do.
00:28:40Cause I wanna be the best damn thing.
00:28:43Cause you're the best damn thing
00:28:45that I've ever had.
00:28:46You're the best damn thing
00:28:48that I've ever had.
00:28:49And I don't know what to do.
00:28:50If I ever lose you
00:28:53Cause you're the best damn thing that I've ever had
00:28:56But I can't feel much if you're over it
00:28:59So tell me what to do
00:29:02Cause I wanna be the best damn thing that you've had to
00:29:06Cause I wanna be the best damn thing that you've had to
00:29:16Cause I wanna be the best damn thing that you've had to
00:29:26Looking to our left, the large resort building that you can see is the Riffage Royale
00:29:31Now if you take a look in the centre you'll see three columns and a large void area
00:29:37This void is used as a common area for the residents
00:29:41However it does have a design purpose
00:29:44It was an Asian consortium that built the building
00:29:48And they built it with the principles of Heng Shui in mind
00:29:52This void was so that the evil spirits would pass through the building
00:29:56Without getting caught in the building
00:29:58Now remembering that that takes up the equivalent of approximately 12 units
00:30:03So it would have been a loss in revenue of about 12 million dollars to the developers
00:30:09Just goes to show how many evil spirits they thought we had here on the Gold Coast
00:30:15But yes folks here we go and we do
00:30:18We're coming up to three little bridges here
00:30:20Once again watch your heads in the top deck thank you
00:30:22Suburb of Main Beach up ahead of us here too
00:30:24Main Beach is now the third most expensive suburb in Australia to buy a house
00:30:29We're in trouble with Main Beach at this point in time
00:30:32There hasn't got much beach, a lot of it got washed away in the side bun unfortunately
00:30:36The middle bridge that we're crossing under is the Sundale Bridge
00:30:57Prior to the Sundale Bridge being built there was a water bridge called the Jubilee Bridge
00:31:03which connected Southport to Main Beach
00:31:06This bridge lasted approximately 14 years and it was rumoured towards the end of its life
00:31:11that a man was hired to sit underneath the bridge and replace the bolts as they fell out
00:31:16In 1966 the Sundale Bridge was built
00:31:21This is the busiest recreational waterway in Queensland
00:31:28With more boats per capita than anywhere else in the southern hemisphere
00:31:33With over 800km of waterways on the coast
00:31:36This equates to more waterways than Amsterdam and Venice combined
00:31:44Looking to the left you'll see a tall pole with a large nest perched on top
00:31:49Keep an eye out for the residents Austin and Audrey
00:31:52They're a pair of Osprey Eagles who are really quite unique
00:31:57They have been featured on the front cover of National Geographic
00:32:00This is one of the only nests that's been built in suburbia
00:32:04water roadblocks
00:32:06And the water roadblocks almost all underground
00:32:09In London more thaniet or weeks
00:32:11Where names can be found its wild
00:32:12This is wild
00:32:14One of the west
00:32:15One of the west
00:32:16Yes
00:32:17Yes
00:32:18But guys
00:32:19Just close the road
00:32:20dom before the pandemic
00:32:22But responding to Venice is over
00:32:24Paris
00:32:34This way, I don't care, it's five o'clock somewhere.
00:32:49This lunch break is gonna take all afternoon, after night, tomorrow morning.
00:33:04In front of us now on the right is the Southport Yacht Club. Boats come from all over the world to visit, some travelling up and down the coast to find the warmer weather.
00:33:14Some even live on their boats. Cost to moor your boat here can be in excess of $350 a week, including your power and water.
00:33:24In contrast, the boats moored either side of us on the orange mooring buoys pay approximately $200 a year to moor their boats here.
00:33:33However, the catch is there is approximately a 15 year waiting list to get a hold of one of these moors.
00:33:40We are going through your boat today.
00:33:46Doing good?
00:33:47Over a year, I've been making vacations, gonna start right here.
00:33:53If the fall's for me, you can tell them I've just sailed away.
00:33:59And pour me something tall and strong, make me a hurricane before I go insane.
00:34:07It's only half past twelve, and I don't care.
00:34:13It's five o'clock somewhere.
00:34:17I can pay off my tab, pour myself in a cab, and bring back the world before two.
00:34:37Had a moment like this, I can't help but wonder, what would you see me bumping down?
00:34:44I'd say, pour me something tall and strong, make me a hurricane before I go insane.
00:34:54It's only half past twelve, but I don't care.
00:35:01Pour me something tall and strong, make me a hurricane before I go insane.
00:35:08It's only half past twelve, but I don't care.
00:35:13I don't care.
00:35:15I don't care.
00:35:18It's only half past twelve, but I don't care.
00:35:25What time's on rock?
00:35:27We got you.
00:35:28Doesn't matter if we're from somewhere.
00:35:30It's always on fire in Margaritaville.
00:35:32Let's get out of here.
00:35:40Let's get out of here.
00:35:42Let's go.
00:35:44Let's get out of here.
00:35:52Let's get out of here.
00:35:54Let's go.
00:35:56Let's go.
00:36:06Let's go.
00:36:08All these beautiful big boats
00:36:36surrounding us here. If you look closely these boats you'll see a lot of them do share a common name, they're all for sale, not very original but very very popular with the boat owners. Personally I've always found that the best boat to guide on any mariner over the years is basically something else is here, you own your own boat, you hire it for the day if you want to be a company like drama, failing that just do a river cruise, how easy is this, all the pleasure without the pain, infinitely cheap in your own boat, wherever you go on the walls you'll find yourself a river cruise, that is the deal.
00:37:06Yeah, like a crocodile.
00:37:08Now if it is in your DNA and in your blood that you have to own a boat, have a look at these ones beside us here and in front of us, these are all salvaged and abandoned boats, you can buy these boats from as little as one dollar at public auction, they can make a great little project for someone.
00:37:22And again it might be the most expensive dollar you'll ever spend in your life so do let the buyer beware when it comes to buying old boats.
00:37:29Over here to the right you've got the marine department officers, you've got the department of fisheries, department of transport and water police have their officers over there.
00:37:36The white boat beside us here is the one that clears the shark nuts off the coast most mornings, that's a busy little boat.
00:37:41The police boat beside us here with its back to us, this is a two million dollar boat.
00:37:46It's a bit of a weapon that does over 50 knots and travels in under half a metre of water which basically means if they're chasing you, give up, alright they're more than likely going to catch you.
00:37:56Here to the right is the Manta Ray Resort, this is being built only 36 apartments in that resort going in there, it's not going to be many.
00:38:04You've got the new marina up in front of us here too, big super yacht marina going in here for all the lovely super yachts to park, very nice.
00:38:34This area is in the water that I've also made it, so tiny, they've always found my way back to you in the last few years.
00:38:40I've found my way back to you.
00:38:42You've been trying to find it too, is this place so long, it's waxable.
00:38:46Property, внимание, where we are in there's no way to be.
00:38:50Home is wherever we are in there's no way to be.
00:38:54Home is wherever we are in there's no way to be.
00:38:59Home is wherever we are in there's no way to be.
00:39:03This area to our right is known as Mariners Cove.
00:39:24It's home to all of your boating activities including jet skiing, jet boating, boat hire,
00:39:30deep sea fishing and whale watching when in season.
00:39:35Just up on the right is the local marina fuel station.
00:39:39This is where we stop in to pick up our fuel requirements and if you're lucky enough to
00:39:44see the smiling marina manager out be sure to give Russell a wave.
00:39:56I'm trying to sell something that just can't be about, says the latest and the greatest
00:40:06but I know that it's always what I want to be.
00:40:13I can't tell it's last year but now it's what we need.
00:40:19Oh no not me, oh no not me.
00:40:24I'm heading home, I'm heading home.
00:40:29I'm trying to get out something that you'll never be told.
00:40:35Guess we'll be getting right here when they're born.
00:40:40Once it's really gone then it's really gone for me.
00:40:45Just because you can doesn't mean magic.
00:40:49Oh no not here, oh no not now.
00:40:54I'm heading home, I'm heading home.
00:40:59Go somewhere you'll never go.
00:41:09Folks this is Baroness Cove over here to the right.
00:41:12Now this whole marina has been pulled out in the last three weeks.
00:41:15They're going to build a new luxury resort and a big super hot marina in there.
00:41:19It's been the hub of all the water activities for a lot of years but apparently the new marina
00:41:23is not going to allow any commercial boats in there so that's a bit harsh.
00:41:26I don't know where they're all going to go.
00:41:28Heli tours here on the right, two great little helicopter joy flights.
00:41:31If you get a chance to fly with those boys and girls you will not be disappointed.
00:41:35The suburb of Southport over here on the left hand side.
00:41:38Southport used to be the business heart of the Gold Coast but it's really big for hearts.
00:41:42Australia Fair over there to the left too.
00:41:45That one used to be the biggest shopping centre on the Gold Coast but that's been well and truly eclipsed
00:41:49by the likes of Pacific Fair, Rabina and Harbour Town.
00:41:53We've got Marina Mirage over here on the right.
00:41:55Now this big luxury shopping all finished now.
00:41:58That was built back in the 1980s by Christopher Scase.
00:42:01They're going to knock that down and put another luxury resort in.
00:42:04The big blue and white boat down there with the five domes on top.
00:42:07That one's owned by one of our much loved and revered politicians,
00:42:10Mr. Clyde Palmer.
00:42:12That's Clyde's biggest boat.
00:42:13He's got nine boats.
00:42:14That's the big one.
00:42:15That's called Australia.
00:42:16$40 million worth of boat sitting there.
00:42:18He wanted a bigger boat but unfortunately couldn't get it in and out of the waterways here
00:42:22so he had to settle for that one.
00:42:23He wasn't happy about it but still what do you do?
00:42:25Lovely boat.
00:42:28It's called Australia.
00:42:29It's registered overseas.
00:42:30$40 million worth of super yacht and ran aground in Singapore recently too.
00:42:48I've got to get home, there's a garden to dim making flutes on the ground,
00:43:09Well, I can't believe in my laundry's day
00:43:13I thought it was sleeping, I guess it got fed up
00:43:17I'm not being fed
00:43:18I would get to know I'd be fooled in my bed
00:43:21I'd be fooled in my time
00:43:23This is so weird
00:43:24Everybody is in soon
00:43:27This is why I'm trying to understand
00:43:32In my head, whatever I find
00:43:37I'll find my way back
00:43:39I'm trying to find it too
00:43:45Cause this place is overgrown
00:43:47It's a wax time
00:43:48Home is wherever we are
00:43:51And it's looking too
00:43:52Back of my house there's a trail
00:44:00Walking so far
00:44:03I'm gonna go back in
00:44:04Now there's no trail at all
00:44:06There's a grass for one time
00:44:08Get out of the shade
00:44:10It's a house
00:44:11I'm bound to go to store
00:44:16The fishing co-op in front of us is where you can come to purchase all of your freshly caught prawns, bunts and crabs
00:44:28Alternatively you can pop into Pete's fish market which is directly next door and they'll cook you up a lovely piece of fresh fish
00:44:36The fish market gets so busy on weekends and public holidays
00:44:40They often hire a security guard to control the crowd
00:44:42They're about to turn around now
00:44:46We're about to turn around now
00:44:48We'll pop some music on so you can sit back and relax and enjoy the cruise back on
00:44:53Folks this is the former Palazio Basagi resort beside us here on the right
00:45:07This is an amazing resort
00:45:09That was built back over 30 years ago
00:45:11That was built as a six-star resort when it was first opened up
00:45:15In recent times it's got new owners
00:45:17They've revamped and renovated the place
00:45:19And that's now going under the name of the Imperial Hotel
00:45:21So for the Versace you are looking for the Imperial Hotel
00:45:25And see what was up ahead of us here too
00:45:27On the left you can see the big wooden roller coaster there
00:45:29That's the new Leviathan ride
00:45:31Great little ride to go on
00:45:33It may last for 90 seconds but it's a pretty intense 90 seconds
00:45:36The big tower with the three prongs on top
00:45:38That's the new Trident ride
00:45:40Now that's a great little ride to do straight up to lunch
00:45:42I've been told it goes round and round and round in circles
00:45:45With a great road of knots and a huge height
00:45:47I wouldn't recommend standing underneath it still
00:45:49And look at this little yacht here on the left
00:45:51See this little creamy coloured yacht
00:45:53128 years old that little yacht is
00:45:56It's been around the world twice
00:45:58It's done multiple trips between Australia, New Zealand
00:46:00And up through the Pacific Islands
00:46:02Very pretty little boat owned by a lovely lady
00:46:05She sails it herself
00:46:06Her first mates and her lovely little Burmese cat too
00:46:09Lovely little boat
00:46:11Now folks on the way home to celebrate this glorious day
00:46:14We've got today we're going to do a happy hour
00:46:16Emily's and Louie's amazing cocktails
00:46:19Ten dollars each on the way back
00:46:20You can sample the six different flavours on the way home if you like
00:46:23And then maybe go home and have a nap I guess
00:46:25A shot of its one
00:46:27Apart from that I will be quiet on the way home
00:46:29Give you guys a chance to chill out, relax, enjoy the view
00:46:31Enjoy each other's company
00:46:32If you'd like to know anything more about the general area
00:46:34Don't hesitate to see myself or the gals
00:46:36We will happily tell you what we know and what we don't know
00:46:39Or Google or make up it's as easy as that
00:46:42Like a rush
00:47:06I don't read the headlines
00:47:18And I don't watch the news
00:47:21Cause I lose faith in something every time I do
00:47:27Well I don't mean to bury my head in the sand
00:47:33But I'm just trying to live this life as best as I can
00:47:39Times get tough but I don't give up
00:47:44Cause I know I'm not alone
00:47:49Cause we're all reaching for something
00:47:52We're all craving change
00:47:55Hoping tomorrow, tomorrow is better than today
00:48:01We're all searching for somewhere
00:48:04Trying to find a way
00:48:06Hoping tomorrow, tomorrow is better than today
00:48:12Hoping tomorrow, tomorrow is better than today
00:48:18It's not easy sleeping
00:48:23When I lay down in bed
00:48:26Cause I got all these worries running through my head
00:48:31And it's hard to keep pushing forward
00:48:35When trouble pulls you back
00:48:37And you wake up even further from a dream you had
00:48:43Times get tough but I don't give up
00:48:45Times get tough but I don't give up
00:48:49Cause I know I'm not alone
00:48:55Cause we're all reaching for something
00:48:58We're all craving change
00:49:01Hoping tomorrow, tomorrow is better than today
00:49:07We're all searching for somewhere
00:49:09We're all searching for somewhere
00:49:10Trying to find a way
00:49:12Hoping tomorrow, tomorrow is better than today
00:49:18Hoping tomorrow, tomorrow is better
00:49:24So just hold on
00:49:26So just hold on
00:49:27When someone breaks you
00:49:30Just hold on
00:49:33When feeling shakes you
00:49:36Just hold on
00:49:39When darkness takes you
00:49:43Just hold on
00:49:44Just hold on
00:49:46Just hold on
00:49:48Just hold on
00:49:50Cause we're all reaching for something
00:49:53We're all craving change
00:49:56Hoping tomorrow, tomorrow is better than today
00:50:02So let's keep searching for somewhere
00:50:04So let's keep searching for somewhere
00:50:07We're gonna find a way
00:50:09To make tomorrow, tomorrow better than today
00:50:15Let's make tomorrow, tomorrow better than today
00:50:21Let's make tomorrow, tomorrow better than today
00:50:27Let's make tomorrow, tomorrow better than today
00:50:32Let's make tomorrow, tomorrow better than today
00:50:48I thought if I was older, I'd have less on my shoulders
00:51:00I can't tell if I'm sad or poor
00:51:03Most nights I am not sober, LA's making me colder
00:51:11I've got voices I can't ignore
00:51:14Everything is never enough, if I wasn't afraid of love, yeah, I would've loved, yeah
00:51:22If I wasn't so insecure, if I wasn't easy to hurt, then I wouldn't hurt, yeah
00:51:27If all of my friends wanted to jump, would I, would I?
00:51:33If I could feel nothing, if I could feel numb, would I, would I?
00:51:38If I could forget you without a drop, could I, could I?
00:51:43If all of my friends wanted to jump, would I, would I, would I, would I?
00:51:50Oh, oh, oh
00:51:53Oh, oh, oh
00:51:59Empty numbers on paychecks
00:52:03Good days only on weekends
00:52:06It's so easy to miss the point
00:52:09Ain't touched, call me a genius
00:52:14Took my patience for weakness
00:52:17I wish I would've had the choice
00:52:20Everything is never enough
00:52:24If I wasn't afraid of love, yeah, I would've loved, yeah
00:52:28If I wasn't so insecure, if it wasn't easy to hurt, then I wouldn't hurt, yeah
00:52:33If all of my friends wanted to jump, would I, would I?
00:52:38If I could feel nothing, if I could feel numb, would I, would I?
00:52:44If I could forget you without a drop, could I, could I?
00:52:49If all of my friends wanted to jump, would I, would I, would I, would I?
00:52:56Oh, oh, oh
00:53:01Paychecks
00:53:02Good days only on weekends
00:53:05It's so easy to miss the point
00:53:08Ain't touched, call me a genius
00:53:13Took my patience for weakness
00:53:15I wish I would've had the choice
00:53:20Everything is never enough
00:53:22If I wasn't afraid of love, yeah, I would've loved, yeah
00:53:26If I wasn't so insecure, if it wasn't easy to hurt, then I wouldn't hurt, yeah
00:53:31If all of my friends wanted to jump, would I, would I?
00:53:36Would I?
00:53:37If I could feel nothing, if I could feel numb, would I, would I?
00:53:42If I could forget you without a drop, could I, could I?
00:53:48If all of my friends wanted to jump, would I, would I, would I, would I?
00:53:54Oh, oh, oh
00:53:59Oh, oh, oh
00:54:02Oh, oh, oh
00:54:04Oh, oh, oh
00:54:08Oh, oh, oh
00:54:15Oh, oh
00:54:15Everything is never enough
00:54:19Everything is never enough
00:54:25Everything is up and down
00:54:31Oh, everything is up and down
00:54:35It's been seven minutes now since I lost my way
00:54:52It doesn't seem that long but my whole world has changed
00:54:57It's in all the real things, when you smile now it stings
00:55:02It's been seven minutes since I lost the girl in my dream
00:55:06It's been half an hour now since I dropped you home
00:55:10And I'm driving past the places we both know
00:55:15Past the bar that we first kissed and the movie that we missed
00:55:21Cause we were hanging out in the parking lot
00:55:23Now I sink a little deeper, sink a little clearer
00:55:29Looking at myself through these newfound eyes
00:55:34Is it too late to turn around?
00:55:41I'm already halfway out of town
00:55:44Now I know how I let you down
00:55:49Oh, I finally figured it out
00:55:53I forgot to love you, love you, love you
00:55:59I forgot to love you, love you, love you
00:56:03The videos are playing songs for me and you
00:56:07Chasing cars reminds me of nights in your room
00:56:12Drinking wine and leaving low back
00:56:16Well, love was so dumb, how the hell did I end up losing you?
00:56:24Is it too late to turn around?
00:56:29I'm already halfway out of town
00:56:32Now I know how I let you down
00:56:37Oh, I finally figured it out
00:56:41I forgot to love you, love you, love you
00:56:56I forgot to love you, love you
00:56:59If I came back now, would you still be there?
00:57:07If I come around, would you even care?
00:57:14If I came back now, would you still be there?
00:57:19If I come around, would you even care?
00:57:29Is it too late to turn around?
00:57:34I'm already halfway out of town
00:57:38Now I know how I let you down
00:57:42Oh, I finally figured it out
00:57:46I forgot to love you, love you, love you
00:57:52I forgot to love you, love you, love you
00:57:56I forgot to love you, love you, love you
00:58:01I forgot to love you, love you, love you
00:58:06Can you see just a stitch of light?
00:58:23Coming through a crack in the blind
00:58:26Cause we're only giving so much time
00:58:33So let's live like we never die
00:58:39Let it all go, slowly we fade
00:58:45Reality's all the way
00:58:48We're losing our minds, we can't stop
00:58:52Oh, if we don't freeze, we'll never see
00:58:58Life is a masterpiece
00:59:00We're losing our minds, we can't stop
00:59:04We're losing our minds, we're losing our minds
00:59:12We can't stop

00:59:18We can't stop
00:59:20Oh, if we don't go, slowly we fade
00:59:36Reality falls away
00:59:38We're losing our minds, we can't stop
00:59:42Oh, walking streets in the neon light
00:59:48All the colors will be our guide
00:59:55Cause we're only giving so much time
01:00:01Oh, so let's live like we'll never die
01:00:08Oh, if we don't go, slowly we fade

01:00:56Oh
01:00:57Let it all go, slowly we fade
01:01:02Reality falls away
01:01:05We're losing our minds, we can't stop
01:01:09Can't stop
01:01:10We're losing our brains, we'll never see
01:01:15Life is a masterpiece
