00:10We will go over the big debut match that is listed for AEW double or nothing
00:15And a WWE superstar recently brought back a classic gimmick and everyone loved it. I'm Adam Wilborn

00:25Alright, we're gonna circle back to the Stephanie McMahon story
00:27I say circle back. We've never really left it. Have we? Nope. We've been talking about it non-stop
00:31Understandably because it is a developing story. I got the word right. Yeah, you go always get the word developing wrong for some reason
00:38But there's a new report here. So last week
00:41Stephanie and I'm she was taking a leave of absence from her role as WWE's chief brand officer
00:45Bunch of stuff came out including Nick Khan assuming some of her details as Stephanie said that she was looking forward to returning
00:51She's some time away now. We've got this new report here from PW insiders Mike Johnson
00:57Noting some internal chatter on the situation Nick Khan who's of course
01:01WWE's was he president and chief revenue officer
01:03Thanos I think is the technical term
01:05Extremely powerful is the is the deal with Nick Khan. He had assumed some of Stephanie's duties when it comes to liaising with WWE's partners
01:13Now it seems that the view internally in WWE is that they will be looking to bring someone in full-time on an executive level to deal with brand management
01:25Which presumably as Stephanie was chief brand officer in WWE would have been part of her responsibility
01:30It's pretty interesting
01:33To think about that and think about people's roles in the company and all of that now Johnson also notes
01:38that when asking the people who've asked about Stephanie's leave of absence have been told that she will be taking an extended period of time away from the promotion to focus on her family
01:50They had a rough 2021 of course
01:52Triple H suffered serious heart failure the cardiac event as WWE dubbed it but he is of course since gone into greater detail on that
02:00And outlined a pretty scary situation
02:04It was Stephen A Smith he spoke to
02:06Yeah
02:07Now Triple H has since returned to work you guys covered that last week in my absence
02:11Albeit in a slightly altered role to what he was doing before
02:15So the family obviously have a lot going on
02:18I think there was another report yesterday suggesting that a lot of the stuff will be kept private
02:24And it should be kept private if it's family stuff absolutely
02:26It's not really any of our business
02:28So fair play to all of that
02:30Stephanie has of course claimed she'll be coming back to WWE
02:33We don't know when that will be
02:34But yeah there you go
02:35I think it always makes a lot of sense you know
02:37Like you say when she talks about taking a leave of absence to take care of her family and spend time there
02:43I think we should normalize that sort of thing first of all
02:45Absolutely self care whether it's for your family for yourself
02:48Absolutely do whatever you need to do
02:50But it seems to suggest these reports that as much as we mentioned at the time
02:55Nick Carr may be assuming some of Stephanie's responsibilities
02:58He is a busy man
02:59He has a lot of things to do
03:00And if they are hiring someone to take over the brand responsibilities
03:04It would seem to suggest
03:06A that's a bigger job than someone just sort of adding it to their pile of work
03:09And B as you suggested as well
03:11That Stephanie isn't going to be back within a month for example
03:15Sure
03:16So this all makes a lot of sense
03:18I'm not going to say well at least that frees up Stephanie
03:21To make more of a return to the wrestling ring when she comes back
03:24But yeah it's one of those things that
03:27Yeah it's a situation WWE has had to adapt to
03:30We mentioned at the time a lot of people around Stephanie
03:32Found out the news when she tweeted it
03:34It's going to be very interesting to see what happens with WWE going forward
03:39Which is a sentence I've said for about the past two years
03:42Yeah it's been all change in the company behind the scenes
03:45Obviously loads of people unfortunately losing their jobs
03:48Throughout the pandemic and everything
03:50But like restructuring across the board
03:52Nick Khan coming in and immediately becoming one of the most powerful guys around it seems
03:57Obviously everything still comes down to Vince
03:59He's the man in the big seat
04:00He is the guy at the very top of that corporate pyramid
04:03But yeah there you go
04:05Interesting changing corporate landscape

04:08Speaking of things that all come down to Vince
04:10Let's talk about those decisions to make the tag team titles unified on Smackdown last week
04:17That came down to Vince as well
04:19A little bit of a report on this from Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio
04:22Revealing that actually the decision to unify the titles was only made at the very last minute
04:28Obviously there was an initial plan
04:30He's allergic to bad booking
04:31There was an initial plan to do it at WrestleMania Backlash
04:34And then they sort of backed out of that and made it that six man with no titles
04:38And yet it's still main evented for some bloody reason
04:41And then of course on Smackdown last week
04:43You have the Usos defeating RKBro
04:45With a little bit of help from the tribal chief
04:47To become the unified champions
04:49They were there on Raw last night
04:51And Riddle got this great fired up promo to start the show
04:53And said Randy Orton's been suffering with back issues and whatever
04:56But he fought with the Street Profits
04:59Tagged with the Street Profits against them
05:00And Sami Zayn, the other member of the Bloodline of course
05:02Was victorious there
05:04But yes, the decision to actually unify the titles
05:07And presumably
05:08I may be reading a little bit too much into this
05:10Because me and Sid sat there and went
05:12Yeah, they're going to do a screwy finish
05:13We ain't getting a finish to this
05:14No one's going to leave as unified champions
05:15But the whole decision to unify the titles
05:18Was made at the last minute
