You won't believe some of the numbers these WWE stars put up in the gym.
Transcript
00:00Everybody wants to be strong. I don't know why. It must be hardwired into our DNA.
00:05Some fans still don't accept that overall mass doesn't equal overall strength either.
00:09I mean, go and watch the Olympic weightlifting that is on right now.
00:13You get some pretty small dudes walk out there and they lift up a crazy amount of weight
00:18because, again, it's all about training.
00:20It's also going to be a huge plus in wrestling because you do have to pick up some monsters
00:23and every now and then an individual does walk into this industry
00:26and they were just born with crazy power.
00:30So I am Simon Miller. Let's go through some of these right now.
00:33Number 10, Bianca Belair.
00:34Bianca Belair is a super athlete and WWE was well aware of that when she was having that feud with Bayley.
00:39They were like, let's have Bianca do an obstacle course
00:42and she picked up Otis like he was nothing and just ran around the ring.
00:47It's like, he's a really large man and Bianca Belair is carrying him like he's a child.
00:52When you do get into our stats too, it's not surprising because look at this.
00:55She can bench 195 pounds, squat 320 pounds, deadlifts over 400 pounds.
01:01These are mad numbers, especially because Bianca Belair herself only weighs 165 pounds.
01:06Now, I shouldn't say that because Bianca Belair herself has got a record and says,
01:09man, what does it matter what I weigh?
01:11And she's totally correct.
01:12But also, when you do throw it all into a big package,
01:15it just makes you go, oh my gosh, you're some kind of superhero.
01:20That's also one of the reasons she's one of the best baby faces on Raw and SmackDown.
01:23We don't talk about it enough.
01:25Number nine, John Cena.
01:26The John Cena could absolutely be higher in this list.
01:29So many wrestlers have come out and gone, yeah, John Cena threw me around like I was a dog.
01:33The evidence is all there too, because we have seen him pick up Brock Lesnar, Mark Henry,
01:37or a big show like they were absolutely nothing.
01:40And he doesn't even break a sweat.
01:41There's an amazing interview with Paul White where he seems genuinely perturbed by this.
01:46He didn't even jump.
01:47His official bench press too is 480 pounds.
01:50But what I wanted you to do today is find the video of him squatting.
01:54Your jaw will hit the floor.
01:56John Cena cannot be human.
01:57Now, lots of silly comments are going to be said about this,
01:59but sometimes people just have power in their veins.
02:03Of course, I'm not saying that nobody here works their ass off.
02:06They all do.
02:06But this is some natural strength.
02:09And again, go and look at John.
02:11Pick up the weights.
02:12He too was born to do it.
02:13Number eight, Braun Strowman.
02:14I mean, you can't just walk into a strongman competition and say,
02:17hey, I'm a large guy.
02:18Can I compete?
02:19You need to have some proof.
02:21And before Braun was a wrestler, that's exactly what he was doing.
02:24I mean, he won the Amateur Arnold Championship in 2012
02:26and picked up a load of other medals too, Boots,
02:29which is how Mark Henry found out about him.
02:31He was all like, oh, hi, you should be a wrestler.
02:33But even when he's been coming back from injury,
02:35Strowman has posted videos of him benching around 450 pounds for eight reps.
02:41And even if you've never been to the gym, believe you me, that is totally nuts.
02:45If nothing else, once again, just go type all this into YouTube
02:48and watch the man lift and your eyes will deceive your brain
02:51because you will think you're staring at a cartoon.
02:53It's the fact that he makes it so easy as well,
02:55like he'll pick up some weight and just throw him around
02:58and then you Google how much that is.
03:00Well, you just want to go laid down because it's really not fair.
03:03Number seven, Ken Patera.
03:04So this one is legendary.
03:06Everybody literally talked about it all the time.
03:08Simply put, Ken Patera was a beast.
03:10I mean, he was the first ever guy to hit 500 pounds on the clean and jerk.
03:14And in the first ever World's Strongest Man contest, he finished third.
03:18Before that, he'd also won gold at the 1971 Pan-American Games.
03:23This dude was just like muscle.
03:24Now, all of his records have been broken since,
03:26but he was just made of raw strength.
03:29And it really helped him in the 70s and 80s when he was wrestling too.
03:32Because everybody there was absolutely massive.
03:35This is another person.
03:36He just picked everyone up like they weighed nine.
03:39Numerous people have also said that given all of this,
03:41if he could have just found his promo voice,
03:43he would have been a champion everywhere that he did go.
03:46But ultimately, it doesn't matter.
03:48Because here we are in 2024.
03:50We are still talking about it.
03:51Number six, Ryback.
03:52Ryback is a controversial figure.
03:54Although I level with you.
03:55I'm still not over the fact that one day,
03:57somebody replied to a tweet of mine and copied Ryback in.
04:00They said, Ryback, this is about you.
04:01And Ryback blocked me.
04:03It wasn't about Ryback at all.
04:05Sucks to be me.
04:06As you can tell from his physique,
04:08this guy went to the gym.
04:09But he's already touched upon the fact that
04:10just because you do have big muscles,
04:12doesn't always equate to strength.
04:14Look, when it came to the back of the rye,
04:16he definitely had both.
04:17He was a powerhouse.
04:18He benched 500 pounds regularly.
04:20And other individuals have said
04:21they even seen him doing 580 pounds.
04:25That's like something an alien would do.
04:26All of his other lifts absolutely rule as well
04:28because they do crazy numbers.
04:30People have talked about
04:31how much Ryback used to eat.
04:33There's even rumors out there
04:35that people in management would watch him
04:37and he would be secretly snacking
04:39and they'd be like,
04:39damn it, Ryback,
04:40we gave you a nutrition program.
04:42You've got to stick to it.
04:42Bryan Danielson,
04:43other than Daniel Bryan,
04:44used to find this hilarious.
04:46And every time he would see Ryback doing it
04:48or he had some food,
04:49he would just burst out laughing
04:51which is why when you do see them together
04:53in interviews,
04:54it does almost feel like
04:55Bryan is bullying the man.
04:57It's still pretty damn funny.
04:58Number five, the Big Show.
04:59I mean, obviously,
05:01just look at him.
05:02Rather than going to numbers this time though,
05:03let's actually focus on a specific feud.
05:06When won Paul White,
05:07the Big Show, the Giant,
05:08was feuding with Rey Mysterio.
05:09Now I get that Rey isn't the largest of men,
05:11but after he had been wrecked
05:12and put on a stretcher,
05:14the Big Show picked up the damn stretcher
05:17and baseball batted it
05:18into Rita the Ring post.
05:20Now, I'm sorry,
05:20Rey Mysterio is still a human being
05:23and the Big Show picked it up.
05:25Like he was picking up some feathers.
05:27I'm still not over it.
05:28If you do want some stats too,
05:29Show has always said
05:30that he's pretty sure
05:31he can bench way over 500 pounds.
05:34Look, this was a man
05:35that was just born to be a Giant.
05:37Hence why when WCW saw him,
05:39they just went and called him the Giant.
05:41Number four, Big E.
05:42Now this one,
05:43we are doing the numbers
05:44because it's damn amazing.
05:45Squat, 711 pounds.
05:48Bench, 529 pounds.
05:50Deadlift, 799 pounds.
05:52Good grief.
05:53Big E also achieved those lifts
05:54when he was training
05:55to become a WWE wrestler.
05:57It's not like he was solely focused
05:59on lifting at the time.
06:00He was doing everything.
06:02That just makes me love him even more.
06:04And I think people realized this
06:05when he did arrive in FCW,
06:07hence why we gave him the name Big E.
06:10I mean, unless you're trying
06:10to be facetious here,
06:12you can't put that on somebody's head
06:14unless they can go and back it up.
06:15There's even more reports here
06:16because one day Big E
06:17went to John Cena's gym
06:18and apparently recorded
06:19a 575 pound bench press
06:22which didn't make it
06:23into the record books
06:24because it wasn't a proper
06:25official competitive lift.
06:27Screw that.
06:27I mean, if somebody picked up a car,
06:29I wouldn't go,
06:29oh, well, I'm sorry.
06:30We didn't do it
06:31under the right conditions.
06:32I would just be like,
06:33please, could I be your friend?
06:34I don't want to be out of line here too,
06:36but I just think Big E
06:37is built differently
06:38because even when he was
06:39dropped in his head,
06:39which is taken away
06:41from the wrestling ring,
06:42I actually think it was
06:43all this strength and muscle
06:44that did protect him.
06:46That can only be a good thing.
06:47And of course,
06:47it really would be great
06:48if Big E one day
06:49could return to the squared circle,
06:50but as he has said
06:51in many an interview,
06:53he is now living
06:53a pain-free life
06:54and he can train
06:56how he wants to train.
06:57That's a good thing
06:58for our own brains.
06:59You can't just focus
07:00on one thing.
07:01You need to make sure
07:02your life is balanced.
07:03Number three, Brock Lesnar.
07:04Another guy where huge men
07:05have said he just
07:06treated me like a child.
07:08Once again,
07:08you need to go and hear
07:09the Big Show talk about this.
07:11He is like a legit
07:12seven feet tall
07:13and the look in his eyes
07:15when he speaks about Brock,
07:16I think he's a little bit terrified.
07:18The crazy thing with Lesnar though
07:19is that he is scarily quick too.
07:21When he had that NFL tryout
07:22for the Minnesota Vikings
07:23all those years ago,
07:25he was clocked
07:25at benching 475 pounds.
07:28Paul Heyman has always said
07:29that he wasn't 100%
07:30during that trial either,
07:32which is ridiculous.
07:33And there's other reports
07:34that he won't bench
07:35655 pounds
07:37and that is ridiculous.
07:38Really though,
07:39he just has country boy strength.
07:41That ain't me saying that.
07:42Brock has said that
07:43time and time again.
07:44I'm going to do it.
07:45He was born with it.
07:46You also know that
07:46he does have mad genetics
07:47because there is so much stuff
07:48going around social media
07:50at the moment
07:50of his daughter
07:51and she's like
07:52a shot put champion,
07:54which again,
07:54is just pick up
07:55the big heavy ball
07:56and see how far
07:57you can throw it.
07:58Even when he was in his 40s,
07:59Brock just picked up
08:00Braun Strowman
08:01like he was a little
08:02key cat or something
08:03and I bet
08:04if he ever does return
08:05to WWE,
08:06he'll keep doing this.
08:08I mean,
08:08he'll probably never lose
08:09those natural gifts.
08:10Number two,
08:11Doug Furness.
08:12So that's an interesting name.
08:13Not a lot of people
08:14are talking about Doug Furness.
08:15Because he never won
08:16any major titles.
08:16He never got really
08:17a major push anywhere.
08:19But he was a guy
08:19that could walk in
08:20and say,
08:21I can squat 955 pounds.
08:24I mean,
08:24just think about that
08:25for a second.
08:26Think it means
08:26he could lift an elephant?
08:28I mean,
08:28that's not true,
08:29but I'm going with it.
08:29The rest of his workout
08:30was nuts too
08:31because apparently
08:31he could do a 600 pound
08:32bench press
08:33and his deadlift
08:34was 821 pounds.
08:36That is 372 kilograms,
08:38my UK friends.
08:40Imagine how dumb
08:41the bar must have looked.
08:42It means whoever
08:42you stacked him up against
08:43he was going to be able
08:44to hold his own.
08:45Wrestlers still talk
08:46about this today.
08:47I mean,
08:47they would just go
08:48to the weight room
08:49and watch Doug
08:49and be totally confused
08:51by this.
08:52How the flub
08:52is he doing it?
08:53Number one,
08:54Mark Henry.
08:54I mean,
08:55it all comes down
08:55to his feats
08:56that really we do not
08:57talk about enough.
08:58I mean,
08:58you knew he was going
08:59to be number one
08:59because he was dubbed
09:00the world's strongest man
09:02but let's go back
09:03to his teenage years.
09:04He was benching
09:05525 pounds.
09:08I would actually die.
09:09He also qualified
09:10for the Olympics
09:10in 1992
09:11when he was just 19 years old
09:13and even after
09:13he had signed
09:14with the then WWF,
09:16he continually said,
09:17listen,
09:17I ain't doing
09:18no gimmicks, man.
09:19If you want me
09:20to do strong things,
09:21I will do it legitimately.
09:22That means he was
09:23pulling trucks,
09:23bending fryer pads
09:24and lifting cars
09:26just because he could
09:27do that.
09:28It's still a mystery.
09:29It ticked till 2010
09:30when he was a world champion.
09:31It was a back injury
09:32which stopped him
09:33really competing
09:33at the Olympics
09:34but even then,
09:35he could still squat
09:36855 pounds.
09:38There's also footage
09:39on YouTube
09:39you can watch right now
09:40of him lifting
09:40the infamous
09:41Thomas Inch 172 pound dumbbell
09:44and barely anyone
09:45in history
09:46has done that.
09:47The evidence
09:47is all you need
09:48to see.
09:49When he is able
09:50to do it,
09:51the whole room
09:51loses their mind.
09:53This guy was something else.
09:54Now, of course,
09:55there'll be a bunch
09:55of strong wrestlers
09:56we haven't talked about
09:57so make sure you drop
09:58them in the comments
09:58for you like the video,
09:59share the video
09:59and subscribe.
10:01Also, click this video
10:02on the screen.
10:03I suppose it's going
10:04to be me talking
10:04about muscles.
10:05Thank you very much
10:06for stopping by as well,
10:07my friends,
10:07and I appreciate your time
10:08very, very much.
10:10I'll see you
10:10on the next one.
