00:00That view is crazy. I don't know what I ever imagined about Honduras, but I didn't imagine
00:13this view. That goes on so far. It doesn't look real, doesn't it? Marking the halfway point of
00:20the race, the third checkpoint, Valley de Angelas, sitting at 1,300 meters above sea level. Its cool
00:29altitude and fertile soil make ideal growing conditions for coffee plantations. It was
00:35in this region that the sole dinosaur fossil of Central America was discovered, the land
00:41dwelling hadrosaur. Dylan's not feeling very well, so it's a shame you can't experience
00:47this with us. It is a shame. It's neck and neck. One minute behind us. We're neck and
00:52neck. How have you guys caught up to us? I have no idea. In a shake up to the leaderboard,
00:58Oli and Tyler have risen to the top, while Dylan and Jackie have clambered out of last
01:03place for the very first time. Dylan and I are shocked by us catching up. A bit nervous,
01:10but we're more competitive now. I wasn't competitive at the start. I suppose because I'm knowing
01:15the ropes more now, I'm feeling more confident in myself. I'm still really shocked that Harley
01:20and Roman weren't first. I was convinced they sat their feet off. Me too. I think we were
01:24all convinced that they were way ahead of us. Hello. Hello. Hey. Oh my God. Finally,
01:31we're here. Ladies. Wow. We're here. Oh my God. Better late than never, eh? How are you guys? I won't
01:38lie, we crashed quite hard on this one. The good thing is for us, we can only go up. Oh. Here we go. Guys,
01:48we've got a message. Uh-oh. It is not possible for the race to continue through Nicaragua. What? Teams
01:55must fly to Liberia, where the race will resume. That's not... Is that what it is? What? Where is
02:01that? Where is that? Liberia is an African country. It's in Costa Rica, isn't it? I've been reading
02:07my map. Don't worry about me. All right. Well, I guess we just need to get our groove on,
02:12don't we? Onwards and literally upwards. Yeah. Yeah. That's good. Run, Harley. We're first. We're
02:17first. We're first. We're first. Hey, hey. That plane can't take off without us. It's all right. Pull a
02:22hammer me, mate. Go on. As permission to film in the neighbouring country of Nicaragua was
02:40not granted, teams will resume the race just 90 kilometres away from its border, in Liberia,
02:48Costa Rica. Are you ready for a Costa Rican experience of a lifetime? I am. Yeah. With just
02:58eight minutes separating the top three teams. All right, Dad. Costa Rica. Yeah, let's find a spot.
03:05Yeah, maybe up here. They learn their next destination. I'm not back, Dad. Back, Dad.
03:11Your fourth checkpoint is Bocas del Toro. Bocas del Toro. Toro. Toro is a bull, isn't it?
03:21It is a bull, yeah. Is it Bocca your mouth? Oh, look at Panama. You could kick Costa Rica.
03:28Bocas del Toro. Bocas del Toro. Panama. Panama. Where, where? There, there. Bocas del Toro.
03:33What was it? An island? Lying 700 kilometres away in northwest Panama, an archipelago of islands
03:42in the Caribbean Sea. Bocas del Toro. Known for its Afro-Caribbean and indigenous cultures that have
03:52blended over generations, it draws holidaymakers to its pristine beaches, diverse reefs and rich
04:00rainforests. To get there, teams must pass through Costa Rica, a nation smaller than Scotland, yet home
04:12to 5% of the world's biodiversity. More than half a million species thrive across its ecosystem.
04:20With travel and living costs that rival Western Europe, this could be their most expensive leg yet.
04:27It's looking like the major cities in Costa Rica are quite well-connected by roads.
04:35Mm-hm.
04:37Teams can travel inland early, needing to make multiple connections for the reward of remote
04:43adventure. Or follow the Pacific coast, where dense jungle encroaches upon popular beach towns.
04:51It offers faster transport, but a longer route to the checkpoint.
04:57Okay. So, when I think about Costa Rica, I think about the incredible wildlife. It might
05:02be quite nice to see some incredible animals.
05:04Like a jungle experience. Yeah.
05:05There's nothing that's going to particularly crawl on you.
05:08Yeah. No, I don't need that.
05:10Me and nature, it's just, we don't, we don't work. It doesn't go to give up.
05:14But I think I fantasise over the idea of, like, being like Indiana Jones, you know, travelling
05:20the world, saving people. Ty Jones. No, don't, don't really have a ring to it, but still,
05:25we can work on that. We can whiz it, following the Pacific coastline, and then stay somewhere
05:31in the jungle. And then just straight buzz it to the checkpoint.
05:34It's long, though.
05:35But you'd much rather be jumping on one expensive long bus from there to there than doing stop
05:41and stop along the Caribbean, trying to do connections.
05:46Seeking a wild Costa Rican adventure, the couple will follow Tyler's plan to race down the Pacific
05:52coast to Puerto Jimenez, the gateway to the untamed jungle of the Golfo Dulce.
05:57Wow, this is the hottest bus in the whole of Costa Rica. Isn't it?
06:03Like, he's got the heating on.
06:06Just seven minutes behind.
06:08OK, let's think this through.
06:10Anita and her father, Bal.
06:13I think let's go towards the Caribbean, yeah?
06:15But away from where everybody goes.
06:17Explore the country a little bit.
06:18Yeah, definitely. And I think we should go and stay with some real people.
06:22Yeah, we haven't done anything like that.
06:23Yeah, let's get the guidebook.
06:25OK, eco-resort at Rancho Margo.
06:28Nestled just 40 minutes from La Fortuna.
06:31OK, that sounds like a plan.
06:35What a gun, Mum, stop.
06:37One minute in their wake...
06:38How are you feeling?
06:39I'm feeling good.
06:41..and planning on heading in the same direction, Dylan and his mum, Jackie.
06:45We haven't done the Caribbean side.
06:47I really want us to do the Caribbean side.
06:49Yeah, that'd be cool.
06:50Seeing all the turquoise sea and everything, I think that'd be so beautiful.
06:54And we haven't ever experienced wildlife in their natural environment.
06:58That's true.
06:59Except for Isle of Wight with the squirrels.
07:01Yeah.
07:01But that's not the same.
07:04I think we need to get to San Jose, the main city, and get a bus from there.
07:08San Jose today.
07:10Oh, we've got a good plan.
07:11We've got a plan.
07:12Oh, have it.
07:14I think mine and my mum's secret weapon would be kind of like our under-the-radar dark-horseness.
07:20They'll probably think we're not afraid, but we'll surprise people.
07:23Let's find...
07:25Let's get out of here.
07:28Hablo ingl茅s?
07:30Buscamos otro bus para la fortuna.
07:32Primero, tiene que ir a Ca帽as, de Ca帽as a Tilar谩n.
07:35Muchas gracias.
07:36There we go.
07:36Two changes.
07:37Yeah, two.
07:37Tres buses.
07:38Three buses.
07:40Three changes, they said.
07:41That's okay.
07:41That's fine.
07:42But this is the bus going to Ca帽a.
07:44All right.
07:45Okay.
07:46As I go older, I'm thinking my stamina levels are going to be a challenge.
07:50Oh, is it back all right, Dad?
07:51Yeah, yeah, it's just straightening up.
07:53You've never said you were tired, ever.
07:56We'll keep an eye on you, though.
07:57Keep him in brown sauce and instant coffee.
08:02Are you calm?
08:03Yeah, I am.
08:04Good.
08:06Anita and Bal begin their multiple bus journeys through the disconnected highlands,
08:11aiming for an eco-resort in El Castillo.
08:14Hopefully all going to plan.
08:16Fingers crossed.
08:16Yeah, fingers crossed.
08:17I may have a question for you.
08:21You're looking to go to Tortuguero?
08:24Tortuguero, yeah.
08:25Yeah.
08:27Dylan and Jackie are also heading inland, but utilising the capital of San Jose instead to get to the Caribbean coast.
08:36I need to get my glasses on.
08:38Let me show you.
08:38Just wait.
08:39Show my age.
08:40You have to go to the Terminal del Caribe in San Jose and go to La Pavona.
08:49That's where you get the boat to go to Tortuguero.
08:52OK, La Pavona.
08:53When I was young, I was put a year behind at school.
09:01I remember feeling not particularly bright, and that definitely knocked my confidence.
09:08You will see alligator.
09:10Really?
09:11Oh my gosh.
09:12That's going to be amazing.
09:14I think that's set me back in life, and maybe I should have and could have achieved more.
09:22Really appreciate all your help.
09:24It wasn't me.
09:24It was a...
09:25Yeah, you take the stress away.
09:28Pushing myself now.
09:29It's not too late to do it.
09:31Well done.
09:31You've got a lot of info there.
09:33And I've even got the prices as well.
09:35Damn.
09:36It's so expensive.
09:37I don't even want to talk about how far ahead I think the others are.
09:45Where are we going?
09:46Last to resume their race...
09:48They're just all so far ahead of us.
09:49It makes me feel sick.
09:50Seven hours behind, siblings Roman and Harley Moon.
09:55We're in Costa Rica.
09:57It's going to be expensive everywhere.
09:59So we're going to have to make some good money twice and move.
10:03Look, we're last.
10:04Yeah.
10:06Tamarindo is the safe bet.
10:07It is near.
10:08We could get there tonight and start early.
10:10And the pay is good.
10:12And then we'd be free to move.
10:14Yeah.
10:14Get to San Jose and then we just peg it the rest of the way.
10:17Yeah.
10:18Let's do that then.
10:19Yeah.
10:19Let's do it.
10:20We need a ride to Tamarindo, bro.
10:22Let's see if we can hitchhike our way.
10:24God, I hope this works.
10:27This leg is just strategy.
10:29We want to make some money, move as quick as we can.
10:32Harley, get your sign out.
10:34Yeah.
10:34I did see some good-looking surfers going to Tamarindo.
10:40So hopefully one will pick me up.
10:42Hello, senor.
10:47No se.
10:48OK, no problem.
10:49Muchas gracias.
10:50OK, he doesn't know.
10:52Having travelled 70 kilometres on a succession of buses, Anita and Bal are yet to find an onward
10:57connection to the eco-resort.
11:00Hola, senor.
11:02La fortuna?
11:03No.
11:04No?
11:04OK.
11:06No.
11:08We can...
11:08A taxi negotiate.
11:11I don't think it's worth it.
11:12It'll blow out daily budget completely.
11:15Do you want to hitchhike?
11:15What are you thinking, Dad?
11:19You look worried.
11:21Dad.
11:21Yeah, yeah.
11:22OK.
11:22Why are you worried?
11:23I don't know.
11:23I don't know.
11:24It's just a bit tired, Dad.
11:26Me too.
11:29Oh.
11:30Wow.
11:32Today I'm feeling really weak.
11:34Yeah, are you feeling weak today?
11:35I'm done nothing.
11:36I feel so helpless today.
11:40Do you ever think about your dad's mortality?
11:43No.
11:44Never.
11:44My parents are invincible.
11:47They're immortal.
11:49Are you holding me up, aren't you?
11:51As if.
11:52No, we're a team.
11:53I've not really considered it, because in my mind, he's Mr. Youthful and Energetic.
12:00I will get us there, Dad.
12:02Don't worry.
12:03I'll do the talking.
12:05Please.
12:06Somebody, anybody.
12:08Growing up, I was always everyone's helper.
12:12He's trying so hard, Anita.
12:15If my mum wanted me to help her in the kitchen, I would do that.
12:18If my dad needed me to help him change a tyre, I would do that.
12:22Definitely got eldest daughter syndrome, you know?
12:27No, they're all taxis.
12:29They stopped.
12:31Anita.
12:33Hola.
12:35I've learned this.
12:36Hey, where are you going?
12:37El Castillo.
12:38We want to try and get to a ranch.
12:39Rancho Margo.
12:41Well, let's go ahead and try to do something.
12:42Yeah?
12:43Yeah.
12:44Yes!
12:46Yes!
12:46You're there.
12:48Well done.
12:51Well done.
12:51I'm so proud of you.
12:53You're such kind people.
12:56I can't believe it.
12:57Thank you so much.
12:58I cannot thank you enough.
13:01How are you feeling?
13:02Proud of you.
13:06Are you all right, Dad?
13:07Yeah, yeah.
13:08You're going to make me cry.
13:17Sunglasses on.
13:18Sunglasses on.
13:19Why?
13:20Dad is emotional.
13:21Yeah, I got you.
13:22My daughter, she works so hard.
13:25And you know, it makes me really proud of her.
13:29It's all right.
13:29We're getting that.
13:30Yeah.
13:31Yeah, it'll be all right.
13:32Thank you, Dad.
13:33It'll be all right.
13:35Anita, she's very caring and very thoughtful.
13:41She'll put other people before herself.
13:45There's no ifs and buts with that.
13:51Thank you so much.
13:52We can't thank you enough.
13:53Don't worry, you're going to get to rest this evening, Dad.
13:56I can see it's been a tiring one today, hasn't it?
13:58A beautiful place.
14:01After a seven-hour journey covering only 130 kilometers,
14:06Anita and Bal have finally reached El Castillo.
14:09Oh, my God.
14:11Look at this.
14:11Dad.
14:12This is indescribable.
14:15Whoa.
14:18This is amazing.
14:21It's worth it now.
14:24It's amazing.
14:26Well done, Anita.
14:27Thanks, Dad.
14:28Thanks for carrying me today, honestly.
14:30I really appreciate it for you carrying me now.
14:32Oh.
14:37This is all right.
14:38I'm happy to carry you.
14:40Come on, old man.
14:42Come on.
14:43Tomorrow we need to rest because you will be...
14:44You might have us mucking out.
14:46Let me get out of this thing.
14:47Get on the other side when you put me out.
14:50Hang on.
14:52How am I going to get out of this thing?
14:54There must be a technique to this.
14:56I've never really seen my dad cry.
15:07He's really revealing a lot more of himself with me.
15:12Today is the first day on this whole trip where he's looked worried and tired.
15:17But I guess the reality is, he's 68.
15:20I only put it down once.
15:42Oh, God.
15:43So I forgot that you can't put toilet roll down the toilet and the water has risen a lot.
15:51Tyler's currently plunging it.
15:53Thanks, Ty.
15:55I love you.
15:56I've never missed the first bus out of here because I put toilet roll down the toilet and I've had to plunge it.
16:01So that's a new low.
16:02Yeah.
16:03It's not my best work.
16:04Sorry.
16:04As the only team opting to travel along the Pacific coast, Molly and Tyler have spent the night in the beach town of Haco and now plan to continue their 270-kilometre journey to Puerto Jimenez.
16:21Right.
16:22We'll go again.
16:25230 kilometres northwest.
16:27Your hair's getting thicker in the humidity.
16:31It's got an Ace Ventura.
16:33Yeah.
16:34It's a look with the moustache.
16:37I just don't think I care enough.
16:39Like you said this morning, have a shower.
16:41No, don't care.
16:41No, but that was for the benefit of all of us.
16:44I gave myself a sponge bath.
16:46Before cutting inland, Roman and Harley Moon are stopping early to work.
16:51I never thought I'd be knitting monkey bridges.
16:54They're joining local conservationists, Andres and Albert, who build canopy bridges by hand to help monkeys move safely from traffic, power lines and growing urbanisation.
17:06What type of monkeys will we use in our bridges?
17:09Los monos aguilladores.
17:11How are monkeys?
17:13How do you sleep?
17:15Es m谩s agradable escuchar el ruido de los animales y no de los carros.
17:22We'll help you.
17:23S铆.
17:23Este hilo.
17:25Vamos a hacer uno m谩s.
17:27Continuamos aqu铆.
17:30Albert's got way more skill than me.
17:32驴Quieres hacerlo?
17:32S铆, s铆.
17:34Yo te ayudo, no te preocupes.
17:36How are you getting on?
17:37Sometimes I feel like I'm doing a good job, and then sometimes I think this looks terrible.
17:42I've always been driven.
17:45I started working at quite a young age.
17:48The goal has always been to find a job that you're passionate about and to give it everything.
17:53It's amazing how much care it takes.
17:56If he hasn't guessed, we don't work in DIY.
17:59I'm really happy in my work life, working on my business, directing commercials for brands.
18:11I love spinning plates and love being overloaded.
18:15It is a lifestyle commitment.
18:20Maybe that's why I'm still single.
18:22Love is something I'm looking for, however, I don't want a relationship to defy my happiness.
18:32Harley is such a hard worker.
18:35I always feel like one of the reasons why we never really talk when we're at home is because she's always working.
18:42That's not good enough.
18:44Can you make sure it's being fed in straight, Roe, because that's the issue.
18:48Yeah, just pull it.
18:49That's your job.
18:51Because when it's not straight, it doesn't cut the right length.
18:56There you go.
18:57She's always pushing to make herself happy through work, but there's a massive part of me that just wants her to have someone that can give her that happiness without her having to do anything.
19:11Just for, like, one night a week, the other person is there just to tell her, I love you and I want to do something for you, because I really think she deserves it.
19:22We've done quite good, I think.
19:24I've quite liked this job.
19:26Okay.
19:26See?
19:27See?
19:27See?
19:27See?
19:27See?
19:27See?
19:28See?
19:28See?
19:28See?
19:28See?
19:28See?
19:28See?
19:29See?
19:29See?
19:29See?
19:29Elba is a patient man.
19:33It's fantastic work that you've been doing.
19:35Quite literally holding up all the monkeys.
19:37Yeah.
19:39One man holding all the monkeys.
19:40Yeah.
19:43There is one thing that I would like to ask.
19:45Is there any way we could get a ride?
19:47Of course.
19:48Oh, thank you so much, my man.
19:49Yeah, of course.
19:51That money's going to be key in terms of taxis or anything else like that.
19:56Thank you so much.
19:57Of course.
19:58We are getting a ride back towards the bus station.
20:01There is a possibility to get into San Jose tonight.
20:03However, it might be late.
20:05Yes.
20:07One of my best friends moved out here to Nasara.
20:09Oh, Nasara?
20:10Really?
20:11I can totally see why Costa Rica draws so many people in, though.
20:13Yeah.
20:14Are you married?
20:15Do you have a partner, or...?
20:16No.
20:17No?
20:18Single?
20:19No kids.
20:20Same.
20:21No kids.
20:22I don't know.
20:23I don't know.
20:24I don't know.
20:25I don't know.
20:26I don't know.
20:27I know my lifestyle and how much I like to travel and do things, but there's no way.
20:28Sounds like you, huh?
20:29Yeah, no, I understand that completely, I think.
20:30I'm 35.
20:31I don't really know where life is going, and I'm okay with that, and I just love...
20:34I have a happy life, and I do stuff I like.
20:37Andress, would you want your own kids?
20:39It sounds super selfish, but I... I don't think so.
20:43I'm the complete opposite.
20:44He's ready.
20:45I'm ready to have kids now.
20:47To me, life is about have kids, and have the family, and try and bring them up the
20:55same way that my sister and I were brought up.
20:57I didn't really know I could love two humans so much.
21:02That's how I felt yesterday with my two nephews.
21:05They call me Tio Andy, and I'm like, oh, my God, I haven't been...
21:08I've never been called an uncle before.
21:10And I was like, I...
21:13Even right now, it's hard to express with words.
21:15Yeah.
21:16Oh, that's lovely.
21:18Yeah, it was really...
21:22Uh-oh.
21:24We have a flat.
21:26What?
21:27Sadly, I'm speaking the truth.
21:33This is madness.
21:35Yeah.
21:37What could possibly go wrong next?
21:41I can't believe it.
21:42I can't believe it.
21:43You have to laugh at times.
21:44Do you have a spare tire?
21:45Yeah.
21:46Okay, we can help you.
21:47Yeah.
21:48I did not see that coming.
21:50I've never changed a tire before.
21:53No idea what I'm doing.
21:55The window.
22:00Wow.
22:01It's a busy waterway.
22:03I've been to Venice on the canals, but that's a bit different to this.
22:09The first team to make it to the Caribbean coast, Dylan and Jackie have reached one of the country's most popular national parks.
22:17Known as the Little Amazon of Costa Rica and named after the turtles that nest here each year.
22:24These wetlands are home to over 400 breeds of birds and countless species from the threatened birds tapir to the tropical gar.
22:33We've seen some amazing birds.
22:37I'm looking out for an odd alligator, Dylan.
22:40Oh, yeah.
22:41Haven't seen one yet.
22:45Costa Rica is, I think it's my favourite so far.
22:48It's beautiful to look at.
22:51Hello, goza. Hello, goza.
22:53Wow.
22:54Oh, wow.
22:55Gosh.
22:57They're so still, aren't they?
23:02It's quite magical.
23:05This is definitely worth the money.
23:06Do you think, Dylan, I know you like to be tight with your money.
23:09Yeah, all right.
23:10Well, we're not having to change buses and things, are we?
23:12Yeah.
23:13But I'm really feeling the cost of Costa Rica.
23:18Oh, wow.
23:21Looks like it might be it, do you think?
23:25We have arrived.
23:28A hostel.
23:30$50.
23:31We'll go cheap on other nights.
23:35My husband will have a shock to see the way I am now, staying in a backpacker's hotel.
23:40I would never have done that before.
23:42It's funny, I feel a sense of lightness about me now.
23:49I'm not creating problems so much in my mind.
23:54Maybe I have changed quite a bit.
23:56Hi there.
23:59Do you speak English?
24:00So, so.
24:01Have you got any recommendations or things to do around here?
24:05Yesterday we had a night tour.
24:07You can see animals and different plants.
24:10Oh, wow.
24:11Yes.
24:12That's cool.
24:13And how much was that?
24:15$25.
24:16$55.
24:17Okay.
24:18Each or?
24:19Each.
24:20Each.
24:21Each.
24:22Yeah.
24:23Okay.
24:24Yeah.
24:25Bit worried about money.
24:26We spent a lot on travel to get here and we've got to just focus on racing and saving money.
24:33Finishing third, we had like a taste of joy.
24:36I want to get more of that.
24:38Finish higher.
24:39My head's fried.
24:40I don't know what the hell to think.
24:42Look at this, Donald.
24:43What's that?
24:44I have a bird out there.
24:45It's amazing seeing all the wildlife on the boat journey.
24:50And we may not come here again in our lives.
24:52So, we should grasp these opportunities.
24:55I just hope we've got enough money to keep the race going at the end.
24:59That's my only thought.
25:00But the thing is, life's too short.
25:02And if there's something just down here that we can see in the evening, we should see it.
25:07Yeah.
25:08Yeah.
25:09You're right.
25:10Okay.
25:11I think we would regret it.
25:12Let's do it.
25:13Two hundred and thirty-eight kilometres away in El Castillo.
25:18Ready to work?
25:19Absolutely.
25:20Yeah, look, we've got our wellies on.
25:21Go ahead.
25:22Anita and Bal are working for eco-resort owner Juan.
25:25Look at this place.
25:26It's a paradise.
25:27Tucked into the rainforest slopes below Arenal Volcano, this off-grid paradise was elected as one of the most sustainable destinations in Costa Rica.
25:39Oh, veggie garden.
25:40It's a bit different to your veg patch, Dad, but inspiration.
25:44The idea is obviously to produce what we consume as much as we can.
25:50Oh, this is beautiful.
25:55You love gardening now, don't you, Dad?
25:57I do.
25:58The pleasure you get and the taste of this will taste ten times better than the supermarket.
26:05This is very therapeutic, isn't it?
26:07After a day like yesterday.
26:10It was funny because I could see that you were emotional.
26:12I could see your energy was different.
26:15I just felt like, how the hell are we going to get to this point?
26:18We got here.
26:19We did.
26:20And that was a great feeling.
26:21That's why I think it got emotional that it got us here.
26:25I think it was more than that.
26:27I don't know.
26:28Just something.
26:30What I felt was, I'm a father and father all my life.
26:33I think my job is to actually provide, lead and make sure you're safe, do everything.
26:39And yesterday I felt I wasn't able to help here.
26:43I just felt almost like I'm doing nothing to help my daughter.
26:46I don't think that's about me.
26:48I think that's about something in yourself.
26:50That's in myself.
26:51Because all my life I've never asked for help from anybody.
26:55Yeah.
26:56Try and do it all myself.
26:57Suddenly realising, maybe sometimes I do need help myself.
27:01And yesterday...
27:02You got quite emotional.
27:08I have never, ever, ever been emotional with anything.
27:12And that was quite a surprise.
27:15I felt good.
27:16A little bit of...
27:18A bit lighter.
27:19And more myself.
27:23Maybe this journey is actually...
27:25It's about myself.
27:27And express a little bit more what's inside me.
27:31Yesterday was the maddest day.
27:33Yeah.
27:34But it's in these moments that you find out what you're capable of.
27:38My mind keeps thinks I'm there, but my body says no.
27:41But we are loving it.
27:42I tell you, I won't forget this.
27:44Yeah.
27:48Thank you, Hans.
27:49Oh, thank you.
27:50Honestly, we have such a fantastic time here.
27:52I wonder if you could give us a little ride.
27:54Could we get a lift?
27:55Absolutely.
27:56Oh, my God.
27:57God.
27:58Right, let's do it.
28:02What we need to know now is how we get to the Caribbean coast.
28:06After a one-hour delay and finally leaving the Pacific...
28:13Thank you so much.
28:14You've been so kind to us.
28:15You're very welcome.
28:16Really appreciate that.
28:17Por vida.
28:18Siblings Roman and Harley Moon are hoping to travel straight to San Jose.
28:23San Jose.
28:246pm.
28:25We've missed it.
28:28Is that a bus para San Jose?
28:30No.
28:31Yes.
28:32Yes.
28:33At 7pm.
28:34At 7pm.
28:35OK.
28:369,800.
28:37Yeah, we're doing it.
28:41I felt sick when you said that.
28:42We'll get there tomorrow.
28:44Oh, God, I was shaking, man.
28:47I'm just hoping for some luck.
28:50After a nine-hour journey to Puerto Jimenez, Molly and Tyler are now the closest team to Panama.
28:57My eyes are just so wide.
29:00Like, I'm ready for anything to jump out on me.
29:05Are you Jim?
29:06How are you doing?
29:07Good, thank you.
29:08Please come in.
29:09Spending the night at the home of local environmentalist, Jim.
29:14This is so cool.
29:15We've only got one question.
29:16Yes.
29:17Is that a scorpion?
29:18Yes, it is.
29:19Yes.
29:20Woo!
29:21Yeah, I didn't let you know that we found this right next to your bed that you guys are going to sleep.
29:27Yeah, this is what we get inside of this house.
29:30Oh, my God.
29:31So, let me show you where is your room.
29:33It's inside a really magical tree.
29:35Okay.
29:36Follow me.
29:37Awesome.
29:38Let's go, all right.
29:39Hold on, TCLP right there.
29:40Right.
29:41Good to go.
29:42Get ready.
29:43The idea of me being out in the wilderness, in the middle of nowhere.
29:46Do you want a head torch?
29:48I feel that will probably be the toughest part for me.
29:51I've got all the gadgets for camping, but you will not see me in a tent.
29:57I've dropped my torch in there.
29:59Oh, my days.
30:00What are you looking at?
30:02The spider.
30:04I've got so many torches.
30:06I've got, like, 16 LED ones.
30:08I've got an underwater torch.
30:10Like, little FBI ones and, like, little pen ones as well.
30:14I will never get lost in the dark.
30:16Wow.
30:17Oh!
30:18It's an actual tree house.
30:20This is mad.
30:21Welcome home.
30:22Okay, now I'm really excited.
30:23Bye-bye.
30:24Wow.
30:25I feel like I'm actually going to like it in a weird way.
30:30Yeah, I don't know how much I'm on the same page as you right now.
30:33Oh, are you not, are you actually still not feeling it?
30:35I'm a bit shook, yeah.
30:37My man's got a scorpion on his dining table.
30:40That's very true.
30:41What's that about?
30:42Do you see what I'm saying?
30:43Yeah.
30:44If it was caught in this tree house, I don't really want to catch another one tonight.
30:48When I thought about coming to the jungle, I thought, ah, cute wildlife animals.
30:53Now, it's dawned on me that I'm surrounded by a million bugs.
30:58I mean, some people call them irrational fears.
31:02They're more scared of you than you are of it.
31:05Well, of course you're going to say that because you're not scared of spiders.
31:08I think I'm going to need to go and get some duct tape or another mosquito net or something
31:13because, I mean, let's be honest, I can get through that.
31:17This is...
31:18Oh, God.
31:20I'm in the tree house.
31:28So, right here, there's going to be a green vine snake.
31:31See the beautiful pointy face?
31:33Oh, yeah.
31:34Isn't that going to harm us whatsoever?
31:36Wow.
31:37Wow.
31:38As one team tries to steer clear of the wildlife, another has opted to meet it up close.
31:46I'd never come along here on my own, would you?
31:49Scary.
31:50With over 60% of Costa Rica's wildlife being nocturnal, the region boasts a hidden world
31:57comes alive after dark.
32:00There are several types of frogs in Costa Rica.
32:03But this one...
32:04Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
32:06The red-eyed tree frog.
32:08I must say that it makes us very proud to have it.
32:11Yeah, yeah.
32:12This one has seven different colors.
32:14So, to us, it's basically representing our seven provinces in Costa Rica.
32:20We found a slot.
32:24The way!
32:25Oh, my gosh.
32:26It's huge.
32:29Can you not see that?
32:30Wow.
32:33Tonight in the jungle felt like a nice dream, really.
32:37So magical and, like, yeah, I was in awe of everything.
32:42It's amazing how he's, like, facing down below.
32:45Do you know what I mean?
32:46Like...
32:47That's right, yeah.
32:48I think this has been our best day.
32:51Yeah, I'm so happy.
32:53We got to do it in the end.
32:56We've seen so many animals today.
32:58I know.
32:59Like, today as a whole.
33:01I think my natural instinct in the past is to maybe protect Dylan.
33:06I've never really thought about this, but maybe I have overset the mark in protecting him too much, I feel.
33:13And maybe that's what's caused his cautiousness in life.
33:22I'm actually really glad you did this.
33:24Yeah, it was worth it, yeah.
33:25I was too focused on the money.
33:27Hopefully this experience opens Dylan's eyes up to live in the moment.
33:35What a night, eh?
33:36Yeah.
33:37What a day.
33:40Amazing.
33:44I thank God that Dylan has had this opportunity and invited me.
33:49I don't think I would have done it.
33:52I would not have pushed myself out of my comfort zone at all.
33:57Which is quite sad, really.
34:04Because I've had the most amazing experience.
34:07It's amazing.
34:28San Jose.
34:29Guarded by a trio of active volcanoes, the Central American capital was without street names until 2012.
34:39When directions were given using only landmarks.
34:42Buenas dias.
34:44Hola.
34:46Hola.
34:48Mi amo Roman.
34:49Mi amo Harley.
34:50Harley.
34:52Hola.
34:54Habla ingl茅s?
34:56No.
34:57Any ACL.
34:58Ah-ha-ha-ha-ha.
35:01Sticking to Roman's plan,
35:02the siblings are working for a second time this leg at a local senior community centre.
35:10You can see them laughing at me.
35:14Costa Rica has one of the fastest ageing populations in Latin America,
35:18home to one of the world's blue zones,
35:21but the proportion of centenarians is over three times higher than the global average.
35:27When we walked in, I nearly cried because they all started clapping.
35:31Oh, I'm really all emotional.
35:33It's just an overwhelming feeling of kindness
35:38that people want to look after each other when they're older.
35:42I mean, maybe one day it'll be us.
35:44So I want to give them the cleanest darn windows they've ever seen.
35:47It's muy tranquilo.
35:49I think about my own mortality quite a lot.
35:56Gloves are a bit small.
35:59Because life for me is about creating a new family.
36:03I always worry about what the future looks like.
36:05Raphaelita, en fran莽ais, bon app茅tit.
36:10Bon app茅tit, danse.
36:12It's happy here.
36:15Who are los ni帽os?
36:17Ni帽os?
36:18Who?
36:19Ni帽os?
36:20No, yo a grandes.
36:22Grandes, yeah.
36:22驴Y yo?
36:24Minos ni帽os.
36:27No, but happy.
36:35Roman loves to see the vision of where his life's going and how it will play out.
36:40And I don't think I have that feeling.
36:45Dancing.
36:46Yeah, dancing.
36:47Yeah.
36:52I don't have any expectations of what my life should look like.
36:57Yeah, yeah, we dance.
36:58Oh yeah.
36:59Yeah, we dance.
37:00She teach me.
37:02Come on, Roy.
37:07Woo!
37:09How we going?
37:10One, two, three, four, five, five, five, five, eight.
37:12Go, go, go, go, go, go.
37:14Go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go.
37:16Woo!
37:21I just always think, what if this bit right now is the best my life will ever be?
37:32I hope us spending time together maybe allows him to keep in the present sometimes too.
37:47Gracias.
37:48Adios.
37:49Adios.
37:50Oh, I'm sad to leave you.
37:51I'm near sad to leave you.
37:52Yeah.
37:56Now we're at the bus station.
37:59Back to being filled with dreads.
38:03Hi, six hola.
38:05Come on, come on.
38:11That's it, gone.
38:13Oh my god, I missed it mate.
38:15Five minutes.
38:16Is that really sad?
38:19Hey, okay.
38:23What if we go to Limon and just get a taxi?
38:26Yeah, maybe, yeah.
38:27Because really we just want to get as close as possible in the morning.
38:32Having missed the direct bus to the border town of Six Saola,
38:36Harleman plans to head to Limon to keep moving.
38:40Is there a bus to Limon?
38:42Is there a bus to Limon?
38:45Seven blocks there.
38:46Down that way.
38:48Oh, that's taxi.
38:50Oh my god.
38:50All right, good job.
38:50Keep it positive.
38:52Keep it going.
38:53It's a small blip.
38:54If we lose this leg by some distance, it's because of that moment right there.
39:04Got it.
39:11If I can see a bus.
39:13Ah.
39:14Hello.
39:16But Limon?
39:19So, dos boletos.
39:21Por favor.
39:22Okay, well, ha, look.
39:23We get to Limon.
39:24Yeah.
39:24Oh yeah.
39:27It was supposed to be so easy.
39:34What's just happened in the last 15 minutes pretty much sums up a lot of this race.
39:39Yeah, we're already last.
39:41We're already behind.
39:42That was a moment to get us right on track.
39:45And now it's down to us to start spending that cheddar.
39:52If there's a moment where we need a taxi, bang, let's do it.
39:55Yeah, yeah, yeah.
39:56That's what we put in a good shift for.
39:57Yeah.
39:58We've got it done.
39:59Maybe I'm due for a kiss on the lips, but let me tell you, it'll be shortly followed by a kick in the nuts.
40:04I'm sure some of the older ladies would give me a kiss.
40:07Well, I'll take it right now.
40:09Also en route to Limon.
40:11This is definitely the way to travel instead of bus.
40:15Dylan and Jackie are moving quickly on an 80-kilometre journey, having paid a premium to travel by boat.
40:23Cost a lot more money, but I think it's worth it.
40:27It's beautiful.
40:28I wonder whether we'll see another alligator.
40:30I feel like I've seen some, but I think there might be logs.
40:34Let's find a direct, non-stop.
40:38I'll try my broken Spanish and see where we get.
40:40135 kilometres away, Anita and Bal are still navigating a disconnected journey through central Costa Rica by bus.
40:51There are no direct buses to the border.
40:53OK.
40:53However, there's a bus from here at 4.30 that gets to Limon by 6.30 and it's direct.
41:00Lemon, let's get to there then.
41:01OK.
41:03Do your stickers, please, for Lemon.
41:06Will you take dollars?
41:07No, Polone.
41:08Sorry, we only have dollars.
41:09I can give you dollars?
41:10No, Polone, nada m谩s.
41:12Come on.
41:13OK.
41:14Polone.
41:14She won't take dollars.
41:16OK, you have to go to the bank, Dad.
41:18I'll come back.
41:18Come back.
41:19Go to the banco.
41:20OK.
41:20OK, come on, Dad.
41:21You need to get your skates on.
41:22You need to speedy Gonzales into the bank.
41:25Go, go, go, go.
41:26Please, Dad.
41:27It's fine.
41:29Girls.
41:30驴D贸nde est谩 el banco?
41:32El banco.
41:34Bajando.
41:34Bajando.
41:35Bajando.
41:36OK.
41:38Just down there.
41:41I'm actually just sitting here thinking, should I have gone?
41:44Should I have gone?
41:45Because I could have just run and run back.
41:52Bank's over.
41:52Why did I just send him off like that?
42:01He doesn't even speak Spanish.
42:04We're under a lot of time pressure.
42:06But no one knows about time pressure more than my dad.
42:09He knows he has to be back here.
42:11I was born in India.
42:12I was only four years old when I came to England.
42:17Even if he has to get money changed at one of the...
42:19Why don't we just get money changed at one of these shops?
42:22Oh, my God.
42:26I'm going towards Panama.
42:28So, we're going to Lemon, then Lemon to the border.
42:33Can't see him.
42:35This is really stressful.
42:38Like, really stressful.
42:40We've got 15 minutes.
42:43I'm going to see if I can cause a disruption and make the bus fight.
42:47And, like, beg and plead.
42:48That's our bus.
42:52Oh, God.
42:54This is a nightmare.
42:55El banco.
42:56So, para dos tickets, si?
42:59Okay.
43:00Yeah, I know.
43:03But he...
43:03Yeah, it's okay.
43:04He'll be here.
43:06I need my dad back here.
43:12Hey, man.
43:13No way!
43:18Yes, Dad!
43:21Yes!
43:22Did you get some change?
43:23Yes.
43:24Oh, flipping it.
43:25Oh, well done, Dad.
43:28Well done.
43:29I was so worried.
43:31I was, like, having a proper moment.
43:35Little things looking up again, Dad.
43:36And relax.
43:39You better?
43:40Yeah.
43:40No problemo.
43:46So, we're going to plant a tree.
43:48Great.
43:49Molly and Tyler are still deep in the jungle of Puerto Jimenez,
43:54working off last night's stay by helping host Jim with forest conservation.
43:58Oh!
43:59Whoa!
44:00What?
44:01Something just, just, I don't know what it was.
44:03Sorry.
44:04We're good, we're good, we're good.
44:07Oh, just touched the millipede!
44:14I'm having a breakdown, but it's fine.
44:16All right?
44:16It's fine.
44:17I think you're doing a great job.
44:19I didn't know this would be like this much outside of my comfort zone.
44:23Mm-hmm.
44:24I always like to be in control of things or know what I'm getting myself into.
44:28Why do you think you do need to be in control all the time?
44:33If I can control it, I feel like I can then look after the situation the best I possibly can.
44:37Yeah.
44:37When I compare it to when I was a teenager,
44:41it was on another level.
44:42I was absolutely, like, petrified of witnessing something that was completely out of my control
44:49and all I wanted to do was put a stop to it.
44:51that you feel helpless.
44:55And I just don't want to feel that ever in my life again.
44:58I was coming home from school one day and there was, like, these three men having an argument outside my house.
45:10One of the two men throw a really weak punch to the man that was on his own.
45:15And then one of the men had a 12-inch kitchen knife in his hand.
45:20All of a sudden, it was, like, me standing there at my bedroom window at 14 and just seeing this man get, like, stabbed to death.
45:30It was one of the most horrific moments of my life.
45:38I just remember being there at the Old Bailey, just being petrified of so many factors.
45:42Like, will these people, like, be able to see me? Will they know that I'm testifying?
45:47And I just didn't really know how to process it.
45:50And it had such a knock-on effect to my mental health.
45:52I was indoors for, like, two years.
45:57It matured me really quick.
46:00And it, I guess, sort of...
46:04Oh, shit, sorry.
46:10It was just really hard.
46:14I mean, for the last 14 years, I've been proper trying to embrace that control,
46:23because it's, like, a comfort blanket for me.
46:25Mm-hm. And I think the reason why now it's so important for me to, like, continually...
46:30Be the protector.
46:31Be the protector and go outside. It's almost like it had the reverse effect.
46:33I'm like, OK, well, I don't want anybody else to be hurt now.
46:36I always feel that you're, like, protecting with me.
46:40And, like, this is the first time in a long time where you've had no idea of what you're putting yourself into.
46:49I never once imagined travelling to this side of the world.
46:52And I think that's one of the things at the start of this I struggled with,
46:56because being in a vulnerable position is not one that I want to be in.
46:59Mm-hm. I was so scared.
47:01That 14-year-old would never believe that you'd be doing this.
47:07Yeah, for real.
47:11I am proud of you. I feel like this is definite fear-facing territory right now.
47:16Yeah. It's special that I get to do it with you.
47:23That's our legacy right there.
47:26That's our little... We're going to come back.
47:27What was that? Why are you scaring me like that?
47:29The rainforest is legacy.
47:33Thank you, guys, for coming. Thank you very much, Jim.
47:35So happy that we could work for you.
47:38Onwards. Onwards. Go forth, Tyler.
47:45Now, there's only two ways out of here.
47:47Either a taxi, which would be very expensive, or a boat.
47:51But Jim said the last boat has left.
47:53To leave Puerto Jimenez, the quickest way to Panama is via Golfito.
48:01But boat crossings finish by 5pm.
48:06We're going to set up shop. Yeah.
48:08And then grab the first boat out of here in the morning. Yeah.
48:12We're absolutely exhausted, and we might as well just stay here.
48:15It's not far. It's only about 40 minutes away. Yeah.
48:18It's not bad.
48:19With the Caribbean border now shut for the day,
48:22Dylan and Jackie are choosing to bed down in Cahuita.
48:25Uno room. Get it down to 50.
48:28Oh, cool, cool, cool. Gracias, gracias.
48:31Just 45 kilometres behind.
48:34I mean, there's a place right there, Dad.
48:36It says Hotel Big Boy.
48:38No Shady Inn, but Hotel Big Boy.
48:43Anita and Bal have finally arrived in Le Mans.
48:46In the same city, but pushing on.
48:50We know we can't cross today, but if we can stay in a hostel right next to the border.
48:56Roman and Harley Moon are spending the gains of their labours
49:00to travel to Puerto Viejo de Talamanca.
49:03I feel so far behind.
49:06What we do know is we just need to move.
49:09I always just think what Dad would say to me.
49:12What are you going to do? Be upset about it or get over it?
49:16Those are your two options.
49:17I need a bit of that right now, I think.
49:27We need to get a move on, basically.
49:30Oh.
49:31As dawn breaks.
49:34Right, it's a pretty quick boat.
49:35We're looking to find an empty guest book at that checkpoint.
49:38See, this is the sort of energy we need, and we're there.
49:42Molly and Tyler are finally leaving the Pacific Coast
49:46and still have a 350 kilometre journey to the checkpoint.
49:50To the north, all other teams are fast approaching Panama.
49:56Taxi, six say hola.
50:00Six to US dollars.
50:04Let's do it.
50:04Gracias.
50:06Race, stress, and adrenaline.
50:09It's unbelievable.
50:10Yeah.
50:13Bye-bye, Costa Rica.
50:14Costa Rica.
50:15Hello, Panama.
50:16Hola.
50:17Bocas del Toro.
50:18How much would it cost?
50:19If you want one now, you're bidding $40, right?
50:22$40.
50:2240.
50:2340 separate, $6 per person.
50:25Okay.
50:25Okay.
50:26That's okay.
50:26Let's go for it.
50:27Yeah, let's do it.
50:29The quickest route from here to the island checkpoint
50:32is via the Almirante port, where boats regularly run to Bocas del Toro.
50:38Country number?
50:39Six, is it?
50:41Panama, here we come.
50:43Here we go, border.
50:44What's the name of where we're going?
50:45Bocas del Toro.
50:47Yahoo!
50:48Vamos, vamos.
50:49Muy r谩pido.
50:51Checkpoint energy.
50:53We are on the home stretch.
50:55I'm in full race mode.
51:05We need to go to Bocas del Toro.
51:07Great.
51:08Rand.
51:10Are you going to be all right, Doug?
51:11Yeah, yeah, I'm fast with you.
51:13Let's go, go, go.
51:14I feel like the lack of seeing any other teams is always a bad sign.
51:19Yeah, that they're already here.
51:21We're starting to get butterflies.
51:23Always do it before the checkpoint.
51:26I have a good feeling.
51:26Yeah?
51:28But I have a bad feeling when we see the bottom of Bocas.
51:30Once a remote outpost on Panama's Caribbean coast,
51:40Bocas del Toro grew from a modest banana port
51:44into a vibrant island community.
51:47Tucked amongst it, the fourth checkpoint.
51:53OK, let's go, let's go, let's go.
51:55Make your way to Aqua Lounge.
51:58Find the rear exit and follow the pathway to the...
52:00Escuela del Mar Surf School.
52:03Where are we headed?
52:04Aqua Lounge.
52:05Hola, senor, Aqua Lounge.
52:07Aqua Lounge.
52:07Aqua Lounge to la otra isla.
52:09Other island?
52:10Water taxi.
52:11Water taxi, OK.
52:12Walk the way.
52:13Right, get the hell out there.
52:15You have to take a boat.
52:16We have a small boat.
52:17We can't take you there.
52:21Get ready to run.
52:22Where do you think the other teams are?
52:24I'm hoping they're behind us, but I don't know.
52:27What do you reckon, Dad?
52:28I've got a sneaky feeling.
52:29We may even be numero uno.
52:32Oh, here's Aqua Lounge.
52:33Nice.
52:34Surf school we need to look for now.
52:36Go this way, follow the trail.
52:38What's the code?
52:38Escuela Surf School.
52:40Is this a hair?
52:41Shoot, check.
52:42But this says dive school, though.
52:45Oh, it could be a long hair, couldn't it?
52:46Escuela del Mar Surf School.
52:49Muchas gracias.
52:51All right, come on.
52:51Escuela del Mar Surf School.
52:54Escuela.
52:55Escuela.
52:55OK.
52:56Come on, huh?
52:57Keep going.
52:58Boy.
53:01Do you guys know where the surf school is?
53:03It's more down that way.
53:05That way?
53:05Yeah.
53:06We went the wrong way.
53:07That's embarrassing.
53:10Come on.
53:10Come on, mate.
53:11This looks like a lot of surfboards.
53:13Right, there's your jetty there.
53:14There it is.
53:16By water taxi, travel to the checkpoint Red Frog Hotel.
53:21OK.
53:22Taxi.
53:22Taxi.
53:23It's here.
53:24Now what?
53:25Water taxi.
53:26Yo, yo.
53:27On the board.
53:29I'm getting nervous now, Dad.
53:31Look, look, calm as anything.
53:32Drop me your hand.
53:36Come on.
53:37Oh, is this it?
53:47The hotel entrance.
53:48Yeah, this is the hotel, yeah.
53:49Island Resort.
53:50We're on an island.
53:52Go, Dad, quick.
53:53We've got to keep focused, because you never know if someone may be just ahead of us.
53:59Savage.
54:01I think we're here.
54:02We made it.
54:04Where's the book?
54:06Hello.
54:06Welcome to Bocas del Toro.
54:08This is your key to your buggy.
54:11Buggy?
54:12Golf buggy, Dad.
54:13Come on.
54:15Gracias.
54:15Yeah, gracias.
54:17Right, you're navigating.
54:18I'm driving.
54:22Where are we headed?
54:23I don't know.
54:25Hang on, huh?
54:25Hang on.
54:25Stop, stop, stop.
54:26Take the first right, then bear right.
54:29Next right, and then left right.
54:30So take the first right, so keep going.
54:33Left here.
54:34We'll do our left here.
54:34We haven't taken a right yet.
54:36Dad, I'm so confused.
54:38This reminds me of you driving me to school.
54:40Yeah.
54:42Excuse me.
54:43Watch out.
54:44Watch out.
54:44Watch out.
54:45Useful drivers coming through.
54:47Sorry.
54:48Where are we going, Dad?
54:49I don't know.
54:50Yeah, I think we've got to go back.
54:51This is not it.
54:52So right, and then what, left?
54:55Was that a right?
54:56Yeah.
54:56Yeah, and left.
54:57Up here, you think?
54:58Yeah.
54:59Oh, my gosh.
55:00Are we not getting it wrong?
55:02Oh, dear.
55:05Now, hope we don't bump into a team.
55:07Right, well, now I have no idea where we are.
55:12You drive, and I'll do the, let's go back to the beginning and start again.
55:16Come on.
55:17So we go over the crossroads, and follow this steep hill down to the viewing point.
55:24I think this could be here.
55:25That's a hill going down.
55:27Come on, girl.
55:28Come on, Vera.
55:30Yeah, this is it.
55:31This is it.
55:32Aren't we meant to stop there?
55:33Is that the team?
55:34That's it, yeah.
55:34Well, that's so nice.
55:36That's so nice.
55:37Let's pull over.
55:38Well, you know, let's reverse into it and start.
55:42One minute.
55:43We're shambles.
55:44Oh, hello.
55:50Hi, welcome to this island resort.
55:54Can you hire your book, please?
55:56Okay.
55:57Congratulations.
55:58You have successfully reached your fourth checkpoint.
56:00Please sign in, Overly.
56:02What's your thoughts?
56:02Last, third?
56:04Last or third.
56:05Yeah.
56:07Oh, what?
56:08That's mad.
56:10What?
56:11Oh, no way.
56:14Oh, my God.
56:15Oh, what?
56:17Oh, thank you so much.
56:19Oh.
56:22I can't believe it.
56:23Can you do it?
56:24I can't.
56:24I still can't believe it.
56:25It's still not sunk in.
56:27In my head, to get first in the race, you'd have to just focus, travel, travel, travel.
56:31But we've actually enjoyed it.
56:33So it just shows you can enjoy and race at the same time.
56:37Yeah.
56:37Maybe save a little bit more money.
56:39You always say it too.
56:43What?
56:50Considering we were seven hours behind, we're now only half an hour behind first place.
56:57That feels good.
56:57Back in the game.
56:59Well done, Dylan and Jackie.
57:01Saving that money for those cabs on this leg has really helped.
57:05We're happy just playing that little second car and then waiting for one slip-up and we'll be in.
57:14Oh, my God.
57:18Third.
57:18All right.
57:21Our biggest obstacle was we were in the sticks.
57:24Transport was a huge challenge for us because there were no buses where we were going.
57:28But we're in the race, look, 45 minutes. What's 45 minutes?
57:31All right?
57:31Nada.
57:33Nothing.
57:38Toodles, to the island.
57:41That is a picture-perfect postcard.
57:44It's paradise.
57:44Wow.
57:45Raleigh!
57:46I caught a fish!
57:48Panama is mega bucks.
57:50Three hundred and ten dollars.
57:51Absolutely spend-off.
57:53Oh, my gosh. It's coming towards us.
57:55There's been moments in my life where I didn't even want to be here anymore.
57:58Things like this shows that there's stuff worth living for.
58:00Oh, my days.
58:02We're in the final country. That's nuts.
58:05We're not in Colombia. It's not at all. Panama.
58:07I guess we're stranded.
58:08LOS.
58:09Oh, piss off.
