Keira Walsh admits 'getting a lot of stick' as she's set to captain England in friendly matches

Midfielder Keira Walsh admits she has been "getting a lot of stick" as she is likely to step up as England Women's captain in friendly matches against China and Ghana, in place of the injured Leah Williamson.

00:24I could never step into Leah's shoes in that sense,

00:27but, yeah, I think for me it is really, really special,

00:30and, obviously, more so for my family as well, I think.

00:32To captain your country, there's not many better moments in football than that.

00:36I'll be honest, I've been getting a lot of stick from the girls this camp.

00:39They keep calling me skipper all the time.

00:41Yeah, I think it's kind of a natural progression as you get older.

00:45I think captains do tend to be a little bit older.

00:48I won't say I'm the oldest on the team yet, but I'm getting there.

00:52Yeah, I think it's just a nice moment, as I said, to be captain.

00:55I think it doesn't change who I am as a person or how I play.

00:58It doesn't have an effect on that,

01:00but I think it's sometimes nice to have a little bit more responsibility.
