00:00:00Final two home games camps first up Noah and then in two weeks time
00:00:07Strasburger here at Fitzaudry
00:00:16But on paper is the most winnable on Aberdeen's three remaining games. They had a tough draw in the conference league this season
00:00:24But a win here and it might just be a platform to build upon
00:00:30In those final two matches before Christmas as they try and relive some of those
00:00:35Wonderful glorious European nights of the past at this famous atmospheric venue
00:00:41You
00:00:51They were the first team to beat hearts this season only a few days ago
00:00:56Now can they overcome me double winners of last year from armenia
00:01:03Now we're in poor form just one win from their last seven games
00:01:07Mid table in the armenian top line
00:01:10So Aberdeen will fancy their chances here of three points and climbing up that conference league table
00:01:17All right, let's go
00:01:23Wow
00:01:31Sandra perk of it the Noah coach
00:01:471-2-3, 2-3, 2-3.
00:01:56Well, Aberdeen's hoping to win bats about-home matches for the 1st time since March,
00:02:17he will try and make this place a fortress once again.
00:02:22And Aberdeen can welcome back there, star man Jesper Carlsen,
00:02:27who missed Sunday's success here over Hart.
00:02:30There he is, on the end of the Aberdeen line.
00:02:33A big boost for them to have Carlsen back in their starting 11.
00:02:37And the other change on the weekend sees a start for Kevin Nisbitt,
00:02:41who leads the attack.
00:02:42Marko Lazatic and Stuart Armstrong,
00:02:44the two players who dropped down to the Dons bench.
00:02:47It's that back three once again,
00:02:49which has been the key to their upturn in recent fortunes.
00:02:52And a central midfield duo of Oshish and Polvara with Ante Pavaversa
00:02:57back amongst those on the bench for Yimi Tellin tonight.
00:03:10Aberdeen's last European win came two years ago
00:03:13when they beat Eintracht Frankfurt here on match stage six of the Conference V.
00:03:18Can they see off Noah tonight?
00:03:20Officials are Polish, led by the referee Pavel Raskowski from Warsaw,
00:03:25who was fourth official last week for Scotland's famous win against Denmark.
00:03:29That's hand and part.
00:03:36As for Noah, their main danger man is the tall Bosnian striker,
00:03:40Nadine Uda-Hustinovic, who's scored in all three group games so far for them.
00:03:45Their pace on the wings are potential threats with their captain Helda Ferreira
00:03:49starting on the right side.
00:03:51Only one Armenian player in their starting 11.
00:03:53That's the centre-back Sergei Muradyin.
00:03:56Goalkeeper Timothy Fayouli became a national hero DR Congo a couple of weeks ago
00:04:01in a World Cup playoff match against Nigeria.
00:04:04Well, Michael, it is huge news for Aberdeen to have this man here,
00:04:12their top scorer, their main man, Jesper Carlsen, back in their team again.
00:04:16Yeah, there's no doubt. Important player for Aberdeen.
00:04:19It was interesting to see how the manager, Yemi Talim,
00:04:22was going to fit him back into the team because
00:04:24Topic Eskinen obviously getting a goal at the weekend
00:04:27and probably his best performance of the season.
00:04:30I was intrigued to see who was potentially going to drop out.
00:04:34Stuart Armstrong getting a rest on the bench and
00:04:37Kevin Nisbet starting up top, that's a crucial one.
00:04:41They need to get the strikers firing this season, Aberdeen.
00:04:44So away we go then, match day four of the Conference League.
00:04:49They've had some great European nights here in the past in the Granite City.
00:04:53Can they add one to the list tonight?
00:04:56It is a pretty warm, balmy evening in the north-east of Scotland.
00:05:01Far cry from that stow of last week when winter came early.
00:05:06It's a fervent atmosphere.
00:05:08Long John's can get stuck away for the night, Joe, it's not that bad.
00:05:12Although the wind is here, which is to be expected.
00:05:17I think Mitov is not going to be able to complain.
00:05:23That wasn't the wind, that was just a complete miss-hit there,
00:05:25which is not what you're wanting right at the start of the game under no pressure.
00:05:29It's part of this much improved defence in recent times for Aberdeen.
00:05:35Three clean sheets in their last four games.
00:05:38And that pretty defensive shoving in Cyprus against Larnaca on match day three.
00:05:43Something to really build upon and use now as a foundation for these final few games of the group.
00:05:48Yeah, well, I mean, it's momentum through the whole team, but you need to start from a strong basis.
00:05:55And at the start of the season, it was just no foundations at all.
00:05:59It was as if it was just continually shifting sands.
00:06:02They couldn't get a grip.
00:06:03It felt like the season was running away from them.
00:06:05And the manager, he had to revert away from his favoured 4-2-3-1.
00:06:11The only other time he'd done it last season was the last game of the season in the Scottish Cup final.
00:06:16And obviously they got a success with it.
00:06:18And there was a real pressure from the support to try something different.
00:06:23I wouldn't say it was a roaring success straight away, but it certainly, it stopped the bleeding.
00:06:29And now the weekend's game against Hearts was the first one that felt like there was actually a bit of a rhythm to their game as an attacking force.
00:06:39The game where Toby Kessington scored the winner.
00:06:42He's kept his place in the team off the back of that winning goal against Hearts, his first goal of the season.
00:06:52So the left wing back there with a throw into Oshish in this deep line midfield role once again.
00:06:57Oshish driving on, he's done well here.
00:07:02Promising start for the dogs.
00:07:05See, the interesting thing is, Joe, that Oshish dropping into a deeper midfield role.
00:07:10Him and Stuart Armstrong swapped against Kilmarnock.
00:07:13And there's been a real conundrum in the middle of the park for Aberdeen all season as well.
00:07:17They've tried so many different combinations that none of them really seem to work.
00:07:21And one that you perhaps wouldn't have thought would have all of a sudden seems like it is beginning to bear fruit.
00:07:28With Oshish in debt and Big Dante Povara in the middle.
00:07:32Another run there from Alan Gurgic is nowhere the game's first corner.
00:07:39Sando Pogovic in his first season in charge.
00:07:43It's an arduous trip here, a six-hour flight, a four-hour time difference,
00:07:46and not too many Armenian fans have made that journey.
00:07:48But the ones who are here will see their team with their first real chance to pose a question of Aberdeen's defence.
00:07:57Lukunsen Tararensen is the player who will take it.
00:08:02There they are, that hardy match to support their team.
00:08:07They only formed eight years ago, Noah.
00:08:09It's an in-swinging ball, and it's easily held there by Dimitar Mitov.
00:08:18Well, the wind's swirling the way it is, the goalkeeper's done well there.
00:08:22Plucked it out of the air, calm and commanding exactly what you're looking for from your goalkeeper.
00:08:28In terms of the points target, to try and get through the league phase, seven points was enough.
00:08:42It's five months ago, but that was seven points with a good goal difference.
00:08:46And that 6-0 loss in Athens back on match day two.
00:08:50Means that in terms of goal difference, it won't be a factor you would think that would favour Aberdeen going forward.
00:08:57So at least two wins from these last three games will be required.
00:09:04They have two games here.
00:09:07He's Loban, the young right wing-back.
00:09:10Decent ball of invite hit two, just too high for Nisbet.
00:09:12And there's Canusa, now Jensen.
00:09:23Yeah, it was good play from young Dylan Loban down on the right-hand side.
00:09:28Positive play, looking to take the full-back on.
00:09:31Getting the ball onto the box, just unfortunate that Alexander Jensen got caught under it slightly at the back post,
00:09:37but it's positive play from Aberdeen.
00:09:42There's two local lads in the team right now, Jack Milne at centre-back,
00:09:46and Loban as the right wing-back to players who really caught the eye.
00:09:50Looking to relish the stage tonight.
00:09:52Milne was man of the match here on Sunday.
00:09:55It's Tony Loban's fifth senior game.
00:09:57There's Canusta.
00:10:09There's Canusta.
00:10:12Well played there by Jensen out comes Feudu.
00:10:14D.R. Kongo, international goalkeeper.
00:10:19In a World Cup qualifying game against Nigeria.
00:10:22A couple of weeks ago he saved three spot-kicks and a shoot-out.
00:10:26To help them reach the play-off round in March.
00:10:28Nisbitt there trying to apply some pressure.
00:10:34Likewise Jensen.
00:10:36Behind it goes for a goal-kick.
00:10:38What do you make of Nisbitt being chosen to leave the attack for Aberdeen preferred to Marco Lazicic tonight?
00:10:44Well, like I was saying at the start of the game, Joe,
00:10:47I mean it pretty much is a toss of the coin at the moment
00:10:49because neither of them have really staked a claim as the main man.
00:10:54Kevin Nisbitt obviously was on loan here last season
00:10:57and the earlier part of the campaign wasn't as if he was setting the header light either
00:11:03but laterally he started to see what he's capable of.
00:11:06He's now obviously made the transfer permanent
00:11:08and it seems like it's reverted back to the earlier part of last season as well.
00:11:14We're just struggling to get a real rhythm, struggling to show the qualities
00:11:19but Lazicic has not really staked that claim as the main man either.
00:11:25So it really is there for either of them to get a run, score some goals and make themselves the main striker.
00:11:32I had actually thought before the game whether perhaps Jimmy Tillin would have been looking at maybe
00:11:38putting Karlsson through the middle and playing him as a false nine because
00:11:42Armstrong and Keskinen playing well in behind.
00:11:47But no, he's gone for the orthodox striker again.
00:11:51But one of them needs to start stepping up.
00:11:55Let's get in foul by Jan Iseki, the Cameroonian.
00:11:58It's Bakye.
00:12:04So Alihi, here's a back four for Noah.
00:12:09Team are in fifth place in the Armenian league with just six wins in there.
00:12:14It's Velvele games this season on paper.
00:12:16We do feel that they could be a team who are there for the taking tonight.
00:12:20We certainly on paper but also, you know, in reality, Aberdeen have got to win this game.
00:12:31You know, you talk about seven points and you make the valid backup that it's with a good goal difference.
00:12:38Because obviously hearts went out last season with seven points.
00:12:41You know, they blew it in the last game against Petro Cup at home.
00:12:45And then they run the risk.
00:12:47You got enough points, but the goal difference wasn't good enough.
00:12:50They knew that really they had to get the victory.
00:12:53Whereas Aberdeen are in reverse.
00:12:55They've not started quickly.
00:12:57They need to get points.
00:12:59And this game here is crucial.
00:13:01Realistically, if they've got any ambitions of getting out of the league phase, they've got to win here tonight.
00:13:05The second watch there by Polvara.
00:13:20I'm really happy to see Polvara getting a run of games because it's been very stop start for him as well.
00:13:26But I do think in the middle of the park, he's got good athleticism.
00:13:29He's got two good feet as well and you saw there when he needs to, he reached the game pretty well.
00:13:36His fifth straight stars, he is best running the team so far this season.
00:13:39Jensen.
00:13:47Carlsen.
00:13:49His pocket pit there by Boakye.
00:13:51Carlsen still pressurising.
00:13:53The player on loan here from Bologna.
00:13:55He didn't reach the Conference League semi-final three campaigns ago.
00:13:59Playing in Dutch football with RZ, they lost against West Ham who went on to win the trophy.
00:14:04He really has been the standout man this year and you would think actually the Conference League is beneath his level.
00:14:11Well, certainly, I mean, the transfer coming in on loan when it happened that, you know, raised a lot of eyebrows.
00:14:18It was a bit of a coup for Aberdeen.
00:14:19He's clearly been in a team that have been struggling to find the rhythm most of the season.
00:14:26But he's been the one that when you're watching Aberdeen, you're looking and thinking he's capable, clearly.
00:14:32And hopefully, as Aberdeen start to find a bit of a rhythm, it will bring the best out of him as well.
00:14:37And when it comes to games like this, certainly, he's more than capable of being the difference maker.
00:14:45And Aberdeen need guys like him to come to the fore and come up with big moments.
00:14:50Excellent pass that wide there by Milner, the first touch by Loban, just allowed the defender.
00:14:55Sintini to win it back for Noah.
00:14:57For Ferreira, the captain on his left side, who is a pacey and skilful winger, wants to watch out for, scored five goals this season.
00:15:08Two of those in European games.
00:15:11Noah's 12th European match of the campaign that began back in the first Champions League qualifying round back in July.
00:15:27Tovaro.
00:15:31Pulled by Canoosda.
00:15:33It's Balakye.
00:15:37Milner trying to step in and deal with the pressure of Mother Hussainovic.
00:15:42He's the only player to have scored in the first three match days of the Conference League this season.
00:15:47One of those coming off the bench, he's a big threat in the air.
00:15:49He's again for the Hussainovic and that time a foul by Milner.
00:15:59He had to come off at the weekend and I'm sure Aberdeen would have been looking at that and hoping that perhaps he wasn't going to be able to make the game here tonight.
00:16:09I think Bosnia is leading the line for Noah.
00:16:16And it's quite a start, you know, when you're reading that earlier on, Joseph, the only one to have scored in the opening three games of the Conference League.
00:16:25Saint-Eni touched it up, Loban, so a throw for Noah.
00:16:29And it began their campaign back in the Champions League qualifiers where they lost against Ferenc Vargas, the Hungarian team.
00:16:39A team who were led by Robbie Key nowadays.
00:16:42And then lost against Lincoln Redimps of Gibraltar in the Europa League qualifiers.
00:16:50Two rounds to reach the Conference League where they picked up four points in their first three games.
00:16:56They won the first match against Rejeka of Croatia.
00:17:00A draw against the Romanian team in their second game before losing out at home against Sigma Odomuk of Czechia in their last match three weeks ago.
00:17:18It's Pol Vara.
00:17:19And Milne, who's every game I'm sure being watched by Steve Clarke from here on in.
00:17:26Until the end of the campaign with that potential World Cup's boss.
00:17:31Captain Milne's mine.
00:17:32Well, I tell you, it's a huge season for him, yes, because if he continues to put in performances like he has been of late then the manager will be keeping an eye on him, there's no doubt about it.
00:17:45The challenge is there for him.
00:17:46I'm sure if he spoke to anybody in the North East here there would be clamouring for him to get him involved.
00:17:53Sunday was a very good one for him.
00:17:56Very good game.
00:17:58And that's the challenge, as I said, if he continues to perform like that he'll be knocking on the door.
00:18:01It wraps up almost 51st team games now for Aberdeen.
00:18:07It's been capped three times by Scotland's under-21s.
00:18:14Saintini.
00:18:15Long want towards Muda Husainovic.
00:18:18Ran through with no bus to meet off.
00:18:20I think he's one that has definitely benefited from the back three.
00:18:34He came in in the cup final.
00:18:36Having not played, you know, last season to any great extent and did really well.
00:18:41And then, as I said, since it's been a back three this campaign, he's definitely grown in stature.
00:18:45Lovely move here, here's Karlsson for Aberdeen.
00:18:48He's got support there too.
00:18:50Kestinen hits it.
00:18:52Smuggled away by Miradian Benoa.
00:18:57It's a fine pass there to Big Gang against Karlsson and get Aberdeen moving.
00:19:00He's got a dangerous area there Jesper Karlsson.
00:19:16Lovely run in behind.
00:19:19Just at this moment you can tell he's wanting to cut back.
00:19:22There wasn't really too much on.
00:19:24Ends up being Jensen and Kestinen sort of getting in each other's way.
00:19:28Neither of them able to get a clean enough strike away.
00:19:35There's a player who worked with Yumi Tellin previously in Swedish football.
00:19:39Yeah, I've no doubt that that connection was obviously played a crucial part in it.
00:19:49New sporting director Lutz Fanningsteel coming in.
00:19:52It'll be interesting to see how his connections and contacts play a part.
00:19:58He's spoken a lot about wanting to build a strong base of local youth as well.
00:20:06I mean, talking a lot of sense, but these things take time.
00:20:11And it's easier spoken than actually putting it into place.
00:20:17And it's a big challenge for Lutz to do that.
00:20:20But I'll be interested to see how it pans out over the next couple of years.
00:20:23And see obviously how that dynamic works with the manager as well.
00:20:28And it might take some of the focus off Yumi Tellin in terms of that recruitment side of things.
00:20:35See that Noah with just about the majority of possession so far in the game,
00:20:40but only just a game that's still yet to have its first really clear-cut chance.
00:20:51Well run there by Paul Barrett.
00:20:53He's come back the way of Mill.
00:20:55He's touched a bit heavier.
00:20:59Noah maybe have a chance to break out now.
00:21:01He's Ferreira.
00:21:03Swallowed with by Paul Barrett.
00:21:08He's got that contact from behind, goes down with the free-kick.
00:21:14Par by Gustavo Sangari.
00:21:17S唉bo Sangari.
00:21:26So a win or a bust night, effectively for Aberdeen.
00:21:28So a win or a bust night effectively for Aberdeen.
00:21:31It has to be the emphasis on attack to try and win the game at some stage.
00:21:39and win the game at some stage but so far they're going about in a fairly patient way
00:21:48it's carlson now lobe
00:21:54it's been a season where they found goals fairly hard to come by
00:22:01canoes
00:22:05that's just about seen behind for the goal king
00:22:07down that channel they're having a bit of joy there Aberdeen
00:22:13yeah it looks on occasions like they're able to get something but Santini in the end coming
00:22:18across and defending it fairly comfortably physically strong enough just to usher it out
00:22:25and see Keskin in a way but you're right down the left it looks like there are gaps that they're
00:22:29capable of exploiting
00:22:30no are quite happy just to drop into a back five at times you
00:22:38you can see
00:22:44playing quite narrow quite happy to sit in next these centre-halves
00:22:47carson
00:22:53pacey early for me
00:22:55was turned away by Muradjan Vanoha
00:22:58his pit was not too far behind him
00:23:02he's deadly
00:23:04carlson
00:23:05so sheesh carlson neatly done for devlin
00:23:13he for carlson again
00:23:15so sheesh now lobe
00:23:18up against ferreira he's got past him too well played there lobe
00:23:21but sheesh for devlin
00:23:24that again by Muradjan
00:23:29Aberdeen
00:23:30has some growing momentum now in the game
00:23:32here's Jensen
00:23:34Paul Varun
00:23:38still going on Paul Varun
00:23:40a big white wall in the way
00:23:43one lap by Oshish
00:23:46troubles from a halfway out there by Keskin
00:23:48a fence given against Keskin
00:23:52so it's a Noah free kick
00:23:55that was a little bit unfortunate there because when the ball ricochets back
00:23:59to Keskin
00:24:01it's a foul but it's not a great deal he could have done he's almost right on top of
00:24:05the Noah player at that point
00:24:09I think it was the etiquette that he just filled in the back of him but
00:24:14some good positive play I thought that when Loben got down that right hand side
00:24:18he could have perhaps just crossed in himself
00:24:22either goalkeeper's not had a great deal to do so far but
00:24:26I think from Aberdeen's perspective they're showing they're capable of getting in behind
00:24:31which is a key element we've done it a few times down the right with Loben
00:24:35and as we've been talking about before on the left it looks like things are beginning to to build
00:24:40it looks like there'll be some attention required for Jack Mill a bit of blood there
00:24:46which is coming from that right eye area so the
00:24:49Aberdeen physical and medical team rather will have to come on and attend to Jack Mill
00:24:54you can just see in that replay there just caught with a left elbow
00:25:08the Husainovic the guilty man for Noah
00:25:16the player who began as a central midfield player in his younger days
00:25:20Jack Mill so he has that ability to to use the ball in an effective way
00:25:24yeah he's got good composure
00:25:30Mil has
00:25:36a big striker Milo Husainovic I don't think there was anything malicious in it but
00:25:41he's definitely caught him with a sore one
00:25:43well don't forget later on we have highlights from both the UEFA Europa and Conference League that's from
00:25:5110 30 on TNT Sports 1
00:25:54our next live game for you from the Premier League is on Sunday Sunday 11 a.m
00:25:59starts we're in South London for the meeting of Crystal Palace and Manchester United that's on TNT Sports 1
00:26:06and a week tomorrow it's time for round two of the FA Cup eight games live for you across our channels all over next week
00:26:17again so we can look forward to that
00:26:24it was Yumi Tellin's 50th league game in charge here on Sunday when they beat Hearts 1-0
00:26:29now hoping for his first
00:26:32European win with Aberdeen
00:26:34only one goal enough to beat Hearts here at the weekend they haven't scored more than once in a game
00:26:43going back now for a couple of months since they beat Dundee here 4-0
00:26:47only two attempts on target in that match against Hearts when you look forward towards that
00:26:52window coming up in January in the the first window with that Spanish deal overseeing the transfer activity
00:26:58well that's number nine area be one of focus for you
00:27:02well I mean obviously that there was a lot of
00:27:06recruitment and a lot of players coming in in the in the summer
00:27:10but certainly that part of the the park is just not
00:27:15it's not worked yet so far so
00:27:18it's a big one for Aberdeen in regards to what do they do do they look to just try and stick with what
00:27:23they've got and cajole them and try to get the best out of them or do they do they twist and try to bring
00:27:29something else in I think the wing back area for me is key as well if this is the system that they're
00:27:34going to stick with and continue to deploy which it would appear like it is then certainly over on that
00:27:40left-hand side in particular and it's something that I think they need to go and strengthen
00:27:47they have a Jamfie who can play on the left but he's missed so many games with injuries and he's never
00:27:53had a real run at it so it's difficult to say whether with any certainty he's going to be the answer
00:27:59so I really do think that's a position that they need to look at as well as up top
00:28:06so Milne bandaged and back on again
00:28:10so he goes down the line there for Noah Devlin went starting again
00:28:14scored a goal here on match day one against Shakhtar Ricky Devlin in that 3-2 defeat
00:28:22Lula Husainovic with the cross there kept alive far side by Helda Ferreira
00:28:29attacking that was Saintini and Muradjan
00:28:41second successive year in the conference league they were 31st last season with just the one win
00:28:47from their six games the most notable result for the wrong reasons was an 8-0 loss at Chelsea at Stamford Bridge
00:28:59last november whereby half time they were five goals down
00:29:07deep way through the first half here and no attempts
00:29:10the target so far behind the team
00:29:22so far behind the team
00:29:26the first half here is the first half of the team
00:29:30and the first half of the team
00:29:33is a good one
00:29:34this bit
00:29:35Polvara
00:29:38now Loeben
00:29:42lost there by Keskenen that was a bit weak from him
00:29:44A run back well by Paul Vara, decent ball vintour towards Carlson, just kicked away by Boakye
00:29:50He is Ferreira, play continuing here with Noah having a man down, Alan Gurgic it is,
00:29:59referees saw no problem so on we go
00:30:01Well when the challenge happened I did wonder whether the referee was going to blow his whistle
00:30:12because it looked like he put it to his mouth but fair play to him because I don't think it is
00:30:17Paul Vara comes in
00:30:19I think he probably does catch the top he's put there which is a sore on but for me it's still not a free kick
00:30:26His feet are practically on the ground
00:30:31Ante Paul Vara's right boot just slides over the top of Gurgic's
00:30:38But which could be a sore one but thankfully the referee decided to let the game play
00:30:47Ante Paul Vara, the man from the USA, hopes to mark Thanksgiving Day in the perfect way
00:30:53No one there with an advance again, and a quick throw, back for Devlin
00:31:02No, sheesh
00:31:04Polvara, once more
00:31:07Devlin
00:31:09Oh sheesh
00:31:15Polvara
00:31:21Canoesda, it was flawless here against Hearths as was the entire back three in that weekend win
00:31:30So Aberdeen have been to 8th place in the Premiership, now just five points off the top six.
00:31:38Aberdeen were the hearts of last season with the wonderful staff, but real contrast, 12 months on.
00:31:44They've got a huge game, if we get Thanksgiving, they've got a huge game on St. Andrews Day on Sunday.
00:31:53At Livy, that they'll be keen to get another three points and continue that march up the table.
00:32:03Oshish, strong there Oshish, got the ball across two.
00:32:14He clears away.
00:32:16Oshish, the French player on loan here from Sunderland.
00:32:25Gandhi's career at Paris Saint-Germain, part of their youth system.
00:32:34Retouched there by Toby Keskinen.
00:32:38Almost at the half-hour mark, and I think obviously it gets to that stage now where things have settled a little bit,
00:32:44but Aberdeen, they really need to be looking at the trouble of the goalkeeper a little bit more.
00:32:52As you mentioned just a minute or two ago, neither goalkeeper's had anything to do, no shots on target.
00:32:58They need to be far more clinical in and around the box.
00:33:03Now, just in terms of creating opportunities, it's been lacklustre in that regard to a certain extent.
00:33:07The game's settling. There's been plenty of threat in the final third, but there has to be a greater bit of quality.
00:33:17Because the first half against Hearts was, as I mentioned before, as an attacking sense, the best that Aberdeen have been this season so far.
00:33:24But there's been a couple of moments where Keskinen's been a little bit loose.
00:33:29Nisbet, again, has not had a great deal of involvement in the game.
00:33:33Looking for a little bit more in an attacking sense from some of the guys.
00:33:37Bowack.
00:33:47Now, Gurgic.
00:33:50Ferreira.
00:33:53Just kept in there by Gurgic.
00:33:59Zeki, from Fehoudou.
00:34:15Take a glance in touch there off Jensson and goes out of play for a lower throw.
00:34:29Oh, it's a sore one there, but Adil Oshish, that was Fizz straight at him and that would have come very sharp.
00:34:45I think you heard that noise there getting clattered on the side of the head.
00:34:50That's a stinger.
00:34:53Might be a mild night but he still didn't want to be getting that.
00:34:57Such close range. First of all, you just hope he's all right.
00:35:03Which I think he is, but it's just a stinger.
00:35:11Again, the Aberdeen medical team on to assess the condition of Adil Oshish,
00:35:18who's been a lively player in the game so far from that deep midfield role,
00:35:21but also with that license to move forward too, and early on we saw that.
00:35:26Yeah, it was a nice bit of play from Oshish.
00:35:30In and around the edge of the box, good footwork.
00:35:36Skipping in between a couple of players, the one-two with Karlsson.
00:35:40But as I said before, you know, the team's been evolving.
00:35:44He's played in a number of different positions and up until, you know, about a month ago.
00:35:52I think the prevailing sort of view was not that he's been doing enough.
00:36:02But he's dropped back into a deep midfield role, which instinctively I wouldn't say most people thought would have been his role.
00:36:10But he started to look more involved, starting to look more dangerous.
00:36:16And then, as I mentioned as well, there's been so many different combinations in the middle of the park for the Swedish manager.
00:36:24He's had Shinny and Helton Nielsen in there, two experienced guys that didn't have a lot of real legs.
00:36:32Clarkson's been in there as well.
00:36:34Pala Versa, Armstrong, so many different combinations.
00:36:38And it feels like he's stumbled across Polvara and Alshish, and it looks like it's starting to work.
00:36:54This front door, some of those Noah supporters.
00:37:00Well, Aberdeen in just their second European campaign in nearly 20 years.
00:37:05I think many of those young men there won't recall their heyday.
00:37:08The eighties, the days when they won, the cup winners cut, the Super Cup,
00:37:13both under the great Alex Ferguson.
00:37:21They might all have been around, but I can assure you they'll have been told all about it.
00:37:35I'm sure their parents will be recanting stories.
00:37:44No doubt there's quite a few of them that boarded the boats over to Gothenburg to go and watch the final as well.
00:38:00Gladly, it looks as though no serious damage has been done to Adil Oshishu.
00:38:09Just leaves the pitch for the time being, but it'll be soon back on again.
00:38:19Bitty first half with those lengthy stoppages to deal with both Milne and Oshish.
00:38:26Oshish, Oshish back on again now.
00:38:36He scored his first senior goal for Paris Saint-Germain when he was just 17 years of age.
00:38:40I'm sure we got nothing with hiding.
00:38:49Boulvara.
00:38:53Couldn't find a way through there, but he had Oshish behind him to help out.
00:38:56And there's Knuster, Yenson.
00:39:01Let's take you tight to it
00:39:05The referee gives Navadine pretty big
00:39:10So it's empty chance here, a chance but the likes of Milne to move up to the back
00:39:14Yeah, it's going through the back of Carlsen there
00:39:20Somebody
00:39:21Can I laugh there
00:39:28I think he does well just to shuffle
00:39:38Go around and get his body in the way
00:39:53Modern day
00:39:54Wins the ball but the follow through catches up
00:39:58So yes for Carlsen will take this for Aberdeen, Milne towards the back
00:40:08Close for now
00:40:09Canusa in a more central position, it's a good ball there
00:40:14And it bounces all the way through
00:40:16A bit of wind affected that attempt across there from Carlsen
00:40:22That is a very good ball
00:40:24That is a very good ball
00:40:26The problem is you can see many of them are sort of front loaded there
00:40:30There's four of them
00:40:32He's running around middle to front
00:40:34There's nobody really, it's only Paul Vara that's coming around the back
00:40:38There was nobody else
00:40:40Feels like a bit of a wasted ball there because it's into such a dangerous area
00:40:46You can see the goalkeeper is reluctant to be coming
00:40:50Give me to Lee would have done his research
00:40:54I mean Noah's last game three weeks ago
00:40:56Against Sigma other books
00:40:58They were susceptible from set pieces
00:41:00The winning goal in that game was a set piece for the Czech team
00:41:04Now he can see...
00:41:11Logan to advance in his right wing back
00:41:12Is he he
00:41:14De Voldemort
00:41:15Like Paul Vara
00:41:16Good feats
00:41:17Couldn't find a way through
00:41:21There's a foul given off
00:41:23Ultimately against Dante inferred
00:41:33It just becomes very narrow, Polvara desperately trying to work his way through a tight area, it's definitely a free kick, but Dylan Loben's driving down the right hand side to begin with, I just think that it's where my apprehension with the system at times comes from,
00:41:59because I look at that front three with the likes of Karlsson and Keskinen just in behind and it feels sometimes they're not totally sure where they're meant to be, Dylan Loben's driving down and Keskinen's on the inside, he doesn't know whether to run into the space in front of Dylan Loben or to keep on the inside channel and it sort of comes in a bit of nothing, there's not really any assistance, it's just filling a gap.
00:42:24All through there by Gurgic, different wavelength though it's it with Husainovic, and you see here as well Joe, when you're picking the ball up deep here like Roshish, it's limited options that are in front of them because the likes of Keskinen and Karlsson, they're inside, they're not on the outside, they're not like playing out and out wide men, and it's very limited space in there, and when you're playing against
00:42:54against a compact opponent, it's difficult, they've got to get the ball into their feet, and then it becomes very narrow because the wingbacks are naturally a little bit deeper, they're not like wide men, even though Dylan Loben has played as
00:43:11as a wide man, and he's younger days, he's still obviously a young guy, but Jensen is a full-back, he's not a wide man.
00:43:21There's Keskinen, the referee there who was esteeming that Keskinen lent it unfairly, gives away the foul.
00:43:28the foul.
00:43:35the foul.
00:43:47.
00:43:53.
00:43:57two of their nine away games this season scoring just five goals in their four
00:44:01away matches in the Armenian league
00:44:06they are without at their top scoring player from their title winning team of
00:44:12last year so that's a big loss for them this
00:44:16in consult although Gregorio
00:44:22for 27 goals last year actually it's an ACF issue
00:44:28I mean from their perspective they'll be more than happy with looking
00:44:36they've got four points from their
00:44:42three games they're away
00:44:47home here they'll be thinking pack up on
00:44:52another point away from home keeps working
00:44:55towards
00:44:56the possibility of qualifying out of the league phase
00:45:02for Aberdeen they're the ones the challenges for them they've got to do more
00:45:11see that for me just that highlights where there's a disconnect in how they're trying to build the game
00:45:16that ends up just being a thump up the park really
00:45:19topi keskinen's not
00:45:21going to win an aerial battle with any of the backline
00:45:27another foul given against Polvara that's a third time in the game now so he might have to be careful
00:45:34about a booking coming his way for persistent infringement
00:45:37yeah competitive but just marginally and you're right those ones in isolation
00:45:54aren't anything but once you start totting them up you do run the risk
00:45:59ball there by Gustavo Sengare
00:46:05to go back 18 years for the last time Aberdeen went beyond the league or group stage in Europe
00:46:22but then they had that wonderful 4-0 win here against Copenhagen
00:46:30that took them through went on to play Bayern Munich in the knockout round
00:46:362-2 draw here against Bayern
00:46:42here's Loben
00:46:45Carlsen's done well there Loben goes on again but
00:46:48a smart challenge from Terarlinsen
00:46:54worry here because yes but Carlsen has stayed down for Aberdeen
00:47:06it's a knock yes it just looks like it's a top of his boot
00:47:25a little bit of a kick
00:47:30yeah he's up again and moving
00:47:34Loben will take the throw in
00:47:40well there Loben
00:47:49Oshish
00:47:51there goes the way of Noah
00:47:58the wind
00:48:01he whips up now it's increasing in its tempo
00:48:06talking about that game here against Bayern Munich
00:48:20one of the goals
00:48:24there was a young lad called Josh Walker
00:48:28yeah there's a wee football school in Edinburgh
00:48:34a couple of my kids
00:48:35train with Josh
00:48:38really nice guy
00:48:39scored
00:48:45against Bayern Munich
00:48:49not a bad one to have
00:48:50shot there is a pretty tame one
00:48:58mother who's
00:49:01Zainovich
00:49:02not testing
00:49:05it's our
00:49:06meets off
00:49:07that is Noah's first attempt on goal of the game
00:49:11and it was
00:49:13past the post
00:49:17the goalkeepers have still had nothing to do
00:49:21good job
00:49:22so these young
00:49:25Schuerts anyone wants to watch out for
00:49:26no no no they're just
00:49:28far too young for that
00:49:30still tight
00:49:33it's not been a first half of the highlights real this one
00:49:49but Aberdeen won't really care about that
00:49:51if they can win the game
00:49:52it's a
00:49:52a one goal win would more than suffice
00:49:55for the Dons tonight
00:49:56staying in the game managing the game is something that
00:50:01you meet Helene smoking back in the wake of that
00:50:05that 6-0 thrashing in Athens of a few months ago
00:50:08yeah I mean there's no doubt that
00:50:12they've got to keep themselves in the game but
00:50:16against the stage where I mean you're looking at that there in terms of the
00:50:19passes as a home side you'd be expecting to be you know far greater than the away team
00:50:26coming from Armenia
00:50:27forgetting the passes
00:50:29it's attempts on target
00:50:31challenging
00:50:32troubling the goalkeeper
00:50:36he's getting called into action there
00:50:40had next to nothing to do
00:50:45that's what would be a disappointment as half-time approaches for the manager
00:50:49she's made the right call there for you to come and meet that
00:50:55there's Kudusta
00:51:02now Jensen
00:51:07Bill
00:51:19Mickey Deppin
00:51:23Paul Vara
00:51:29Bill
00:51:37there's that range of passing
00:51:39looking towards Keskinen
00:51:40well I'm not sure that for Jolo was there meaning just to palm that down it
00:51:47looks as if he'd fumbled it a wee bit but
00:51:48nobody on hand to capitalise
00:51:51just feels that Aberdeen are lacking any real penetration
00:51:56Gurgic
00:52:00watched by Devlet but he flags up there for
00:52:04offside
00:52:05yeah Gurgic just looking marginally off there as the balls
00:52:18played in behind
00:52:20both teams just
00:52:22flattering to deceive I would suggest
00:52:24just feel when Aberdeen have picked the ball up
00:52:32there's
00:52:33plenty of time in the back line
00:52:35and some of the midfielders
00:52:39plenty of time on the ball
00:52:40but
00:52:41limited options in front
00:52:43not a great deal of movement
00:52:45and whenever
00:52:46the likes of Keskinen or Nisbet
00:52:48Carlsen are looking for it
00:52:51a lot of it is
00:52:52coming towards the ball
00:52:54in front of the FC NOAA team
00:52:57Carlsen
00:52:59off the back of Gurgic
00:53:02cleared out by Sangare
00:53:04that'll be a pretty healthy chunk of first half
00:53:08added time when we get there
00:53:10long stoppages while Milne and Oshish were both dealt with
00:53:16in the
00:53:28in the
00:53:28in the
00:53:29place in the conference lead table but dropped down
00:53:31to last but one
00:53:33after results earlier on
00:53:35Keskinen
00:53:42Jensen
00:53:47and it breaks down
00:53:59promising area
00:54:01and now on the chase goes
00:54:07Gurgic for NOAA
00:54:08Leiband got back there with him
00:54:11Gurgic
00:54:18will take it on
00:54:20in the straight-ass
00:54:22in the straight-ass
00:54:24with Mito
00:54:25well we've got
00:54:28strike on target
00:54:32unfortunately
00:54:33it's for the away side
00:54:36comfortable in the end
00:54:39from Mito
00:54:40Mito
00:54:42good play
00:54:44for Keskinen
00:54:46he kept the ball in play too
00:54:47Keskinen back towards Nisbet
00:54:49on the turn
00:54:50there's the goal for Aberdeen
00:54:54from Kevin Nisbet
00:54:56his first goal this season
00:55:02is perfectly timed
00:55:04just before half time
00:55:07on this big night for Aberdeen
00:55:11they have the advantage through Kevin Nisbet
00:55:15one shot
00:55:17one shot
00:55:18one goal
00:55:19not a bad start
00:55:20to go on at half-time
00:55:21but look
00:55:22it's the first time they've actually been able to stretch the game
00:55:25Noah up one end
00:55:26attacking quickly
00:55:28Alshis with the ball in behind
00:55:30you've got to see
00:55:31Keskinen does brilliantly
00:55:32good strength
00:55:33he wins it
00:55:34and then he's got the composure to pick out his teammate
00:55:38and doesn't Nisbet do really well
00:55:41once he's in that position
00:55:43one take
00:55:44with the left foot
00:55:45lets it come across his body
00:55:47sends the defender
00:55:50the wrong way
00:55:51and then he's got all the time
00:55:53to pick his spot
00:55:56and then he sends the goalkeeper the wrong way
00:55:58as well
00:55:59perfect tape from Nisbet
00:56:01and then Reveille
00:56:05passes it into the bottom corner there
00:56:14you would not know
00:56:15that that was his first goal of the season would you?
00:56:18you can see what it means to him
00:56:20but he showed really good composure there Joe
00:56:23his first goal since May
00:56:25his first goal in 19 games
00:56:27and Aberdeen with the advantage here
00:56:31we're now in first half
00:56:33stoppage time which there is
00:56:34just three minutes
00:56:35amazing what a difference a goal does isn't it?
00:56:41all of a sudden you start looking at all the positives
00:56:441-0 just before half time
00:56:47it's a great time to score as well
00:56:48but going 1-0 up
00:56:50Nisbet scores his first goal of the season
00:56:52we've limited the opposition to one shot on target
00:56:58you can start to get a sense of how things
00:57:01spin and turn
00:57:03on the goal
00:57:06lovely finish
00:57:09he scored 14 goals here
00:57:10that loan spell last season
00:57:14one of those big calls may by
00:57:17you mean to lean
00:57:19you mean to lean tonight
00:57:20to start Kevin Nisbet
00:57:24he has repaid that faith with the opening goal here
00:57:29you see that for me is the key
00:57:32getting those wide men
00:57:34even though they're playing on the inside channel
00:57:37space in front of them
00:57:39you've got to play quickly to turn the opposition
00:57:41and get in behind them
00:57:42it's not happened enough to be able to get in
00:57:44and penetrate the opposition
00:57:47now granted I know
00:57:48they're going to
00:57:51sit there
00:57:54and not open themselves up
00:57:57it becomes all the more important to play quickly
00:58:03and get the ball in behind
00:58:06behind
00:58:09I don't think you want to be playing
00:58:11narrow
00:58:12you want to be stretching
00:58:14Carlsen
00:58:15Keskinen
00:58:16playing in a wider position
00:58:17Polvara
00:58:22Polvara
00:58:24who's just caught down in there
00:58:25and it's brought away now by Sangare for Noah
00:58:28and the challenge
00:58:31came in
00:58:32referee gives the free kick
00:58:34and it may well be within shooting range here too
00:58:37I think Aberdeen feels somewhat hard done by that decision
00:58:39well you can see that
00:58:43the Polish referee is suggesting it's a pull on the jersey
00:58:46I mean it looked from here
00:58:48like it was really good tracking back from
00:58:51the Fin
00:58:52Keskinen
00:58:53sliding in and winning the ball
00:58:54but maybe just on that
00:58:56blind side of us
00:58:58there was a little pull on the jersey
00:59:00which is what the referee was suggesting
00:59:02Sangare driving forward there
00:59:03no I don't think
00:59:06but to be honest I'm not sure he gets much of the ball either
00:59:08to be honest but
00:59:09he seemed to be saying there was a pull
00:59:10there wasn't
00:59:11I just think it was a straight up foul
00:59:24Yeah they can't show it then to Keskinen
00:59:27but a more immediate concern is this free kick
00:59:29added time now on first half stoppage time
00:59:31Nervous moments for Aberdeen here
00:59:38it's a lovely free kick
00:59:41and it's very well saved by Mitov
00:59:43hit by Helder Pereira
00:59:44and Mitov
00:59:45he
00:59:47will do it
00:59:52I'm not sure what he's unhappy about
00:59:54because I think he does
00:59:56really well
00:59:58maybe it's going marginally wide but
01:00:00I'll tell you
01:00:05he gets across really well
01:00:10Mitov
01:00:12yeah I think that's what he's disappointed with
01:00:13it is just going wide but
01:00:15he's probably already mid-flight
01:00:17third flight
01:00:22to Raronson's out swing towards that near post
01:00:27and there goes the half time whistle
01:00:30and the Aberdeen fans
01:00:31are on their feet around Pizzodri
01:00:34because their team have a half time lead here
01:00:37the goal scored by Kevin Nisbitt
01:00:39with half time fast approaching his first goal of the campaign
01:00:43big moment for Yimi Teddin's team
01:00:47and are they on calls for their first European win of the campaign
01:00:50their first European win for two years
01:00:53half time here
01:00:54he's
