00:00From a tragic death in the family, to online accusations and lawsuits, keep watching to
00:06find out what's been going on with the world's most famous family of bounty hunters.
00:11Being the Dog himself, as well as the face of Dog the Bounty Hunter, it's probably no
00:15surprise that Dwayne Chapman continued starring in shows that were connected to being a bounty
00:19hunter and bail bondsman.
00:21"...I'm just a bounty hunter, that's all, that's what I'm gonna just keep doing."
00:26Following his stint on CMT's Dog and Beth, On the Hunt, Dwayne starred alongside his wife
00:32Beth Chapman in WGN's Dog's Most Wanted, which ran for 10 episodes.
00:38In that series, they chased down some of the United States' top fugitives.
00:41It also showed the Colorado native and his family dealing with Beth's cancer diagnosis.
00:47In 2021, it was announced that Dwayne would star in a new bounty hunter series, Dog Unleashed,
00:53but the show was canceled before airing.
00:55Unleashed Entertainment, the streaming service behind the show, claimed that it discovered
00:59that Dwayne had made racist and homophobic comments, and that's what tanked the show.
01:05But he later denied using such language in an interview on Entertainment Tonight.
01:09Dwayne also joined the hunt for Brian Laundrie in late 2021, who died while police were looking
01:15for him after the disappearance and subsequent death of his 22-year-old fianc├йe, Gabby Petito.
01:21After suffering an ankle injury, Dwayne personally abandoned the search for Laundrie prior to Laundrie's
01:26remains being found.
01:29Thanks to her bold personality, Beth Chapman was arguably just as big a star of Dog the
01:33Bounty Hunter as Dwayne Chapman himself.
01:36Fans of the breakout reality TV star mourned her death in June 2019.
01:40In 2017, Beth was diagnosed with stage 2 throat cancer, which was treated with the removal
01:47of a tumor.
01:48Despite the reality star admitting to things looking grim for her, she stayed optimistic
01:53and continued to work.
01:54She even chronicled her illness for A&E's special, Dog and Beth, Fight of Their Lives.
02:07She died, age 51, at Queens Medical Center in Honolulu, Hawaii from stage 4 lung cancer.
02:14Shortly after her death, Dwayne tweeted,
02:16A disagreement over money eventually led Dwayne Lee Chapman Jr. to disassociate himself from
02:34his father's shows after Dog the Bounty Hunter went off the air.
02:38Dwayne Jr. got into a tiff with his dad and stepmom, Beth Chapman, in the last season of
02:43the series, saying that he was underpaid and overworked.
02:47Since then, Dwayne Lee has basically vanished from public life.
02:51In his most recent tweet, Dwayne Lee clearly seemed like he was still passionate about bounty
02:55hunting and was working hard at it, saying,
02:57"...late night tips that turn into a chase and a fugitive getting arrested?
03:02I'll take it."
03:03As far as Dwayne Lee's dad goes, Dog hasn't publicly mentioned his son much in the years
03:08after their falling out, either.
03:10But in April 2013, he did send what appeared to be an open-ended invite for Dwayne Lee to
03:15return to the family.
03:17After Dog the Bounty Hunter went into reruns, Leland Chapman moved to Alabama in 2015, something
03:24that many interpreted as a sign that he was separating himself from his family.
03:28But he later responded to the chatter by tweeting,
03:30"...I moved to Alabama.
03:31I'm not leaving my family or the show," referring to the CMT series Dog and Beth on the Hunt, in
03:37which he also starred with his dad and stepmom from 2013 to 2015.
03:42"...Leland, you ready?
03:43Step four."
03:44In 2016, Leland tied the knot with Jamie Worley, but it wouldn't be long before divorce rumors
03:52hounded the couple.
03:53Leland's social media followers started noticing several relationship red flags in July 2021,
04:00not to mention the fact that Leland had relocated to Hawaii while Jamie was still working in
04:04Alabama.
04:05But it seemed that Leland's move was mostly about work, because he started his own bail
04:10bondsman business, Kamaaina Bail Bonds, in the town of Kailua, Kona.
04:16He also runs his dad's business, Dakine Bail Bonds, in Oahu.
04:20And as for those breakup rumors, it appears that Leland and Jamie are still going strong.
04:26Tim Chapman was one of the bounty hunters on Dog the Bounty Hunter, who wasn't related
04:30to Dwayne Chapman, despite both of them having the same last name.
04:34Since Dog the Bounty Hunter ended, Tim appeared on Dog and Beth on the Hunt, and after that ended,
04:39he kept away from social media, photo ops, and interviews altogether.
04:43Plus, he retired from being a bounty hunter, so it seems he's living a completely different
04:48life these days compared to his television years.
04:51We do know, however, that Tim was married to a woman named Davina Chapman, and he has
04:55three children тАФ Storm Hunter Chapman, Thundercloud Chapman, and Tim Chapman Jr.
05:01It was also stated that Davina was accused of cheating on Tim and having a child with someone
05:05else.
05:06But even though he had those alleged marital issues and is no longer on TV, he seems to be doing
05:11okay, since celebrity net worth says he's worth $3 million.
05:16Lisa Chapman is the ninth of Dwayne Chapman's 12 children.
05:20She was also seen hunting down bad guys with her dad, siblings, and others on Dog the Bounty
05:25Hunter, and two episodes of Dog and Beth on the Hunt.
05:29From there, she opened her own tanning salon in Hawaii in 2013, but sold the business in
05:342018.
05:36The same year that Lisa opened her tanning salon, she released a book titled Walking
05:40on Eggshells тАФ Discovering Strength and Courage Amid Chaos, detailing how she overcame
05:46her tough upbringing.
05:48She also launched a clothing line, Baby, by Lisa Chapman, which she describes on the brand's
05:53website as,
05:54a for-everyone, everyday line consisting of simple, mix-and-match pieces that Lisa herself
05:59wears daily.
06:00In 2017, she got engaged to a woman named Liana Evanson, and in August 2021, they celebrated
06:07five years together.
06:09On a less positive note, Lisa also had a very public Twitter beef with Beth Chapman in 2019.
06:16It seems the pair patched things up before Beth's death, as Lisa later used her Facebook
06:20page in October 2021 to wish her late stepmom a happy heavenly birthday, adding,
06:25"...you are missed beyond measure."
06:28Duane Chapman and Beth Chapman's daughter, Bonnie Jo Chapman, appeared on Dog the Bounty Hunter
06:33for the entire run of the series.
06:36She also appeared on Dog and Beth on the Hunt.
06:39Of course, she suffered a major blow after losing her mother in June 2019.
06:44As she said during her mom's memorial,
06:46"...I never imagined a life without her."
06:49She also spoke openly on the Savage Words podcast in October 2020, saying she had a
06:54"...love-hate relationship with being in a famous family."
06:58That complicated relationship came to light in Bonnie's May 2021 interview with The Daily
07:03Beast.
07:04The piece profiled Bonnie's activism work with Black Lives Matter and LGBTQ rights movements,
07:09but it also included her accusation that Duane had used racist and homophobic language.
07:15"...Well, I thought I had a pass in the black tribe to use it, kind of like Eminem."
07:21Bonnie's relationship with her dad, though strained as of this writing, has been up and down.
07:26She defended her father's decision to start a relationship with Francie Frane in 2020 after
07:31Beth died, writing on Instagram,
07:33"...My mother would have wanted him to be happy."
07:37Yet, by the time Duane and Francie's wedding rolled around in August 2021, both Bonnie and
07:42her sister Cecily Chapman claimed they were not invited.
07:46On the professional front, Bonnie seems to be a budding influencer, and in October 2021,
07:51it was revealed that Bonnie joined TV Unleashed's The System, a show that focuses on social justice.
07:58Duane Chapman and Beth Chapman's youngest son, Gary Chapman, appeared in 28 episodes of Dog
08:03the Bounty Hunter, and two episodes of Dog and Beth on the Hunt.
08:08Like his older sister Bonnie Chapman, Gary's world changed forever with the death of his
08:12mother, who he often mourns on social media.
08:15In an October 2020 birthday remembrance for Beth on Instagram, he wrote,
08:20"...Some days I'm up.
08:21Some days I'm down.
08:23Some days I turn and look for you with thoughts I'd like to share."
08:26But sharing his thoughts isn't all that Gary has been up to.
08:30He's a certified scuba instructor and was a cheerleader for his Colorado high school, so
08:34no one can call him a one-dimensional kind of guy.
08:37But Gary's active lifestyle was abruptly halted after he got into a four-wheeler accident in
08:422020, suffering a concussion and fractured tailbone.
08:46During an interview with the U.S. Sun, Gary's stepmom, Francie Frane, said the injury actually
08:52helped the blended family bond even further.
08:55Justin Bihag is another past cast member of Dog the Bounty Hunter who isn't related
09:00to Dwayne Chapman, although he calls himself the TV star's nephew on his Instagram page.
09:05Bihag, who appeared on the show for four seasons, sued A&E and Dog the Bounty Hunter cast members
09:11in 2014 in a Manhattan federal court for low-pay and unpaid appearances.
09:17He also accused Dwayne and Beth Chapman of exploiting a 2007 car accident that he had by using it as
09:23a promotional tool for the show.
09:25Bihag explained that he suffered from depression from the ordeal, became addicted to drugs,
09:30and lost custody of his child.
09:32Then in July of 2019, he mourned Beth's death on Twitter.
09:36But later that year, Lisa Chapman, Beth's daughter, accused him of using her death for financial
09:41gain.
09:42On Twitter, she even accused him of trying to steal her mother's ashes to sell them on eBay,
09:46which he denied in a series of now-deleted tweets.
09:49But Bihag also seemed to be on much better terms with Dwayne by the time 2019 came, because
09:55he shared a photo on Instagram of himself having a meal with him and wrote in the caption,
10:00"...just a dinner and talk can help the soul and our futures."
10:04Unfortunately for Bihag, his problems continued in 2020, and he was arrested for violating
10:09probation.
10:11That arrest reportedly came from a previous domestic violence charge.
10:14In 2011, one year before Dog the Bounty Hunter ended, Bobby Brown sued A&E Television Networks,
10:22Hybrid Films, and D&D Television Productions for allegedly breaching an agreement.
10:27Brown said he was paid $6,000 for being on the series, despite it making over $400 million
10:33in seven seasons.
10:35He also claimed that Dwayne and Beth promised that he'd become a full-time cast member, but
10:39it never happened.
10:41As of 2021, there's no word on the result of the suit or how Brown made out.
10:46Then after ending his time on the show, he continued with his bail bondsman work running
10:50Bobby Brown Bail Bonds in Colorado Springs, Colorado, which he's been running for almost
10:5530 years.
10:56He's also gotten into the legal cannabis business and opened a dispensary called Bobby Brown
11:01Best Buds in Colorado Springs, which he advertises on his Instagram page.
11:06And despite his lawsuit, it seems like the former reality star didn't hold a grudge against
11:10Dwayne because he's promoted his Dog Unleashed show and posted photos of him since Beth's
11:15death.
11:16He also wished him well with his new marriage.
11:19Dwayne Chapman and Beth Chapman's daughter, Cecily Chapman, certainly wasn't left out of
11:24the family business because she was on Dog the Bounty Hunter from 2003 to 2007, per IMDb,
11:30appearing in 21 episodes.
11:33She appeared on Dog and Beth on the Hunt, and Dog's Most Wanted as well.
11:37Then, several years after Dog the Bounty Hunter ended, Cecily faced most likely her biggest
11:42challenge yet тАФ her mom dying of cancer.
11:45Afterwards, she spent much of her time keeping Beth's memory alive by posting Instagram photos
11:51of her.
11:52She also started an Etsy shop called Cecily for Beth to honor her mother.
11:57The company sells items like t-shirts and hats that say, for Beth, on them.
12:02But the Colorado native faced some legal drama in August of 2021, when she was arrested in
12:07Hawaii for domestic violence after her ex said she punched him in the face.
12:12In the end, however, prosecutors decided not to press charges, and Cecily said she was just
12:17defending her mother's honor after it was disrespected.
12:20Also in 2021, the reality star spoke on Instagram about having her own show on Unleashed.tv.
12:27She said the first few episodes will be about domestic violence, rape, and bullying, and
12:31she wants victims to share their stories with her.
