11:09I think they play great D and not giving up anything easy early on.

11:28The Clippers in the past few seasons, Greg, have completely overhauled their roster.
11:33They are making some serious changes here.
11:35Practically nobody from the team two years ago is still with the franchise.
11:40It was a complete teardown.
11:42And they felt they needed to hit the reboot button.
11:46Jerry West knows what he's doing, though.
11:48And he's done this before with great success.
11:51And now let's check out the lineup's courtesy of Gatorade.

12:23You know, C-Web, every player wants to play in a system where what they do best is always highlighted.
12:30It brings out their strong points.
12:32What are some of the plays or actions that best suited your skills when you play?
12:37One of the things that I needed was a great point guard.
12:40So whether it was Rod Strickland, whether it was Avery Johnson and Golden State, of course, my man, Jay Will.
12:46And that was guys that could get me the ball, that would trust, that would throw it up.
12:50Also, then that I could handle the ball, draw a double team, and get it out to them.
12:54And they could knock down the shot.
12:56Having a great shooter like a patient would allow me to grab a double team and look for him on the opposite side.
13:02So I needed teams that had great ball movement, that had players that could knock down the open shot.
13:08And then a team that could run would allow me to push the break or allow me to fill in the break and kind of do everything.
13:14Teams that would allow me to be positionless and not just be rigid or old in their ways and say,
13:20you play old traditional basketball that doesn't allow anyone to flourish with what they've been working on in the offseason.
13:27And it's in there.
13:28And now a seven-point Los Angeles lead.
13:31Yeah, and they're shooting really starting to pick up here in the second.

20:44A pretty close game for the Clippers throughout the first quarter.
20:48At the end of the period, they held a two-point lead.
20:50They had a slight edge on the scoreboard in the second quarter, but only by the slimmest
20:55of margins.
20:56And taking a look at the Clippers, Kenny, what did you see out there?
21:00Well, it's always a little bit of a challenge playing on the road, but they came in mentally
21:03prepared and physically prepared.
21:05The energy in the arena was fierce, but they didn't cave in.
21:09Shaq, your take on the Lakers.
21:11The thing I like was how they were making a conscious effort to work the ball inside.
21:15They should do the same in the second half.
21:17If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
21:19Whether running the offense through the post, driving it, doesn't matter.
21:22Get to the rim, and the rest will take care of itself.
21:33And that'll about do it as we get ready for the second half.

25:51You know, for years, the adage has been that C-Web big men take longer to develop than other positions.
25:58Does that still ring true today?

26:01I think today the point guard position, because the point guard position is the toughest position in the game.
26:07I think when the big men did take the longest to develop, it was because the big man position, the center and power forward were the toughest.
26:13And that's kind of changed.
26:15Cat and B didn't take very long to develop.
26:17Big men come into the league.
26:18They're more polished now.
26:19And I think the fact that the coaches, the coaching, the skill set now are so much more alike that guys can make an easier adjustment to the game because they've been playing their game and adjusting a lot longer than maybe the players before that had to find a different role once they entered into the foes.
