The world of Stranger Things is expanding — to London’s West End.

00:00The world of Stranger Things is expanding, and this time it's to London's West End.
00:06A stage play based on the Netflix hit is set to make its debut in London later this year.
00:11It's called Stranger Things The First Shadow and written by Kate Trefry,
00:15a writer and co-executive producer on the series.
00:18A formal announcement comes a day after a cryptic teaser released on social media on Tuesday.
00:24No casting has been announced just yet.
00:30Stranger Things creator Matt and Ross Duffer also spoke out about the news, saying
00:39you will meet endearing new characters as well as very familiar ones
00:43on a journey into the past that sets the groundwork for the future of Stranger Things.
00:47We're dying to tell you more about the story, but won't.
00:50It's more fun to discover it for yourself.
00:53Can't wait to see you nerds in London.
00:55The description for the play notes that it will be a prequel to the hit series
00:59taking place in Hawkins in 1959, a regular town with regular worries.
01:04Young Jim Hopper's car won't start, Bob Newby's sister won't take his radio show seriously,
01:10and Joyce Maldonado just wants to graduate and get the hell out of town.
01:14When new student Henry Creel arrives, his family finds that a fresh start isn't so easy,
01:19and the shadows of the past have a very long reach.
01:22The Duffers announced plans for a Stranger Things stage production in July of 2022,
01:27but details have been kept under wraps since then.
