Bob Geldof told fans that some of Sinead O'Connor's final texts before her passing were 'laden with desperation and despair'

00:00Sinead O'Connor's longtime friend and fellow artist Bob Geldof remembered her while performing over the weekend in Ireland.
00:06The singer took a moment to recall his childhood neighbor, telling the crowd at the Cave-In Calling Festival,
00:12many, many times Sinead was full of terrible loneliness and a terrible despair.
00:16She was a very good friend of mine.
00:18He added that they were talking right up to a couple of weeks ago,
00:21describing some of her texts as laden with desperation and despair, and others ecstatically happy.
00:27Recall Sinead passed away last Wednesday at the age of 56 years old.
00:32The Nothing Compares to You singer opened up about her mental health struggles throughout the years
00:36and lost her son Shane to suicide in 2022.
00:40Bob went on to describe his late friend as a great artist and a radical and an activist at the same time,
00:46before going on to perform the song Mary of the Fourth Form in her memory.
