00:07Drake filed in federal court on Wednesday and said the release of Lamar's Not Like Us, which is aimed at the Canadian rapper,
00:13was an example of valuing corporate greed over the safety and well-being of its artist.
00:17Both artists are signed to UMG subsidiaries, Republic Records and Interscope Records.
00:22The new lawsuit claims UMG approved, published and launched a campaign to create a viral hit out of a rap track.
00:30That was intended to convey the specific, unmistakable and false factual allegation that Drake is a criminal pedophile
00:36and to suggest that the public should resort to vigilante justice in response.
00:41Drake's latest suit comes two months after he claimed UMG and Spotify inflated the streams of Not Like Us,
00:46which Lamar dropped in May after the rapper's feud resurfaced in March, becoming one of 2024's biggest hits and nominated for key Grammys.
00:54However, it was reported late Tuesday that he dropped that legal action in that case.
