02:16After the Notre Dame game, that was kind of a turning point for us.

11:20what i saw when we lost to notre dame i said everyone's going to be in everyone's ear did we
11:25disappoint people are we not where we're supposed to be and all that and i said you guys stick with
11:29us and let's just get better and we'll get other chances and i really am so proud of each and every
11:34one of you i really am getting that win gave us some confidence that we could be the team that
11:40wins a championship and we could be a winning team it feels great to get the dub always um i think
11:47it hit a little different knowing the history of last year and how they sent us home so it was
11:52just great to to see all everybody that came out i mean um i don't think i've ever played in front
11:58of so many people so uh just to see my family here all the sc fans it meant the world
12:03so here in malibu the palisades fire continues to spread two more fires igniting overnight spreading
12:14to pasadena it was just so um chaotic my siblings had to evacuate our house so it was just crazy
12:26um a lot going on the only thing that we knew to do was to serve to help our fellow neighbor
12:34my first thought other than like making sure everybody i knew was okay was how could i help
12:40one deodorant or two deodorant this is this just got real messy
12:47so we're not putting this in the bag her grandfather has the wcac and you know she grew
12:55up like working for the foundation you become like a product of what you see she loves to give
13:01back i didn't want the most moment to pass without sharing with you about the irony of this
13:06that watts has been through two of the worst fires in american history the beautiful thing about
13:13what you're doing here is to be from watts and still willing to help somebody in another place
13:18that's been through fire talks about you know the spirit of the community and for me that's real
13:24important and so i'm happy you did this and thanks for choosing us to come and do it through

13:38foundation for everything in regards to how we you know uplift our community and just family values
13:44within the watkins family victory we're about to go to the promise foundation um where they're
13:54helping a lot of people who are affected by the fires here in california so
13:58i teamed up with all my partners to give away around like 600 items
14:05i partnered with nike and degree and um myel so a lot of hair care products
14:13uh deodorant shirts and and backpacks and socks so as much as i can hope i mean i i just feel like
14:22no matter how busy i am anytime i i get the opportunity to do something like this it's always
14:26been instilled in me to to just do the best that i can um on and off the court it's really the least i
14:31can do the foundation of giving back came from my father and my mother as well as my grandfather
14:43ted walking so it was always instilled in us the way that she deals with her friends the way that she
14:49deals in the community the way that she deals in life like following those principles every day
14:54it's a beautiful dynamic

15:14giving me that reinforcement of like okay you know what's wrong with your shot like
15:18you know move your elbow like he's he's very like detailed when it comes to shooting and

15:31always training she's always going above and beyond all the time that's why whenever she calls me
15:36sometimes she'd be like dad it's it's like 10 30 hey can we get in the gym i'm like yeah of course

16:44it's our crosstown rival they're the number one team in the country they hadn't lost all year
16:51and today it just happens to be a number six number one matchup there's a reason why all eyes
16:59are on the stars who happen to be in southern california tonight long time foes getting set to face off
17:06there's a lot of la people born and raised on all teams it definitely motivates me i do get a little
17:24nervous just knowing that lots on the line here we go the battle of la officially underway the home team

21:21With the fires, it's been hard on everyone.
21:24So to be able to play beautiful basketball for 40 minutes,
21:26it's bigger than basketball when you can do that for people who need that.
21:30I think it's important when, you know, when you can do that for people who need that.
21:35And then, you know, if you're in that.
21:38Well, we've got to be kind of a better version of it.
