00:00I'm here today to, you know, help give a platform to a group of eminent scientists and experts who are going to tell us the truth about the crisis that we face.
00:10Because at the moment there's an enormous surfeit of misinformation circulating.
00:14The fact that there isn't a climate crisis, that the whole thing's a hoax, and this is extraordinarily dangerous.
00:21So, these are some climate scientists, but they're not going to be talking about rises in temperature and extreme weather events.
00:29They're going to be talking about how this crisis is impacting ordinary people in the UK.
00:33So that's health, that's food security, food pricing, food production, that's national and global security.
00:41Because climate breakdown and biodiversity loss is not just about flooding and heat and animals disappearing from distant rainforests.
00:49It's about the impact that it's having here in the UK.
00:51And we need to impress upon our governors, those people that we've elected who will be here this morning, the urgency to address that.
00:58And also the opportunities that they have to invest in that for this country.
01:03This country.
01:04This country.
01:05This country.
