00:00Hello and here we are with the charity partner, Culture Vannin. So would you like to introduce yourself?
00:05Yeah, I'm Brisha Madwell, I'm the Director at Culture Vannin and we are the charity partner for tonight.
00:09I know, it's fabulous, I'm excited for tonight. So can you tell us a little bit about Culture Vannin then and how, as a company, what your mission is?
00:17We're here to take Manx Culture forward. We support Manx Culture with young people in the community
00:23and we do everything that makes the Isle of Manor somewhere place rather than anywhere place.
00:28And how do you plan to promote and preserve Manx Culture? I mean, 2026, Year of the Manx Language. What have you got planned?
00:35We've got so much planned. You've got to go to yearofmanx.im. We're one of partners in Jeebin, Manx Language Network, who are organising that.
00:43And it'll be a great time just to dip your toe in if you don't know very much already.
00:47There'll be lots of concerts, there'll be family activities, there'll be different taster lessons.
00:53So it's like a great time for you just to walk out and go, I'm going to say Maramai today.
00:56I'm going to just use a bit of Manx, going to explore what's around you.
01:01But how we do Manx Culture is we work with the community and they're already doing it.
01:06And it's encouraging young people, encouraging new people to get involved with it.
01:11And our job is really to make sure it's accessible to everybody.
01:14I mean, I know more of my eye faster. I should know more. I'm a Manx woman.
01:18So what's one phrase or one word that you can tell me and I can learn?
