00:00Meanwhile, the American President Joe Biden has said that he is pretty much convinced in his mind.
00:06The Russian President Vladimir Putin has made up his mind to invade into Ukraine.
00:11And that invasion, he says, can happen anytime in the next few coming days. Listen in.
00:16The fact remains, Russian troops currently have Ukraine surrounded from Belarus along the Russian border
00:22and with Ukraine to the Black Sea in the south and all of its border.
00:27You know, look, we have reason to believe the Russian forces are planning to and intend to attack Ukraine in the coming week, in the coming days.
00:37We believe that they will target Ukraine's capital key, a city of 2.8 million innocent people.
00:44And do you have any indication about whether President Putin has made a decision on whether to invade?
00:48Do you feel confident that he hasn't made that decision already?
00:52As of this moment, I'm convinced he's made the decision.
00:55We have reason to believe that.
00:57President Biden said that this assessment was, in fact, based on American intelligence
01:03that suggested that Ukraine's capital, Kiev, could be targeted.
01:06Speaking at the White House, Biden also reiterated what U.S. and NATO allies have been warning about in recent days,
01:12that Russia will try to spread false flag operations to try and build a pretext to carry out a military strike into Ukraine.
01:20Now, Biden's comments are the strongest to date about the inevitability of a possible Russian invasion,
01:27and it comes after a phone call with NATO allies.
01:31Interestingly, the leaders again have pledged to continue pursuing diplomacy
01:34while preparing for a swift coordinated economic sanctions on Russia should Russia choose to further resolve the conflict.
01:44The United States have ever maintained that the window of diplomacy still remains open
01:48and that it is not too late to return to the negotiating table.
01:52In fact, the next meeting of the top diplomats is likely to be held on the 24th of February in Europe
01:58between the foreign ministers, Anthony Blinken and Sergei Lavrov,
02:02on the condition that there is no invasion.
02:07Russia, for its part, continues to maintain that it is not planning an invasion
02:10and that such rhetoric by the United States and other Western nations is simply pure hysteria.
02:21And Vion's correspondent, Susan Tehrani, has been tracking the story very closely for us
02:24and gets us this report from New York.
02:27Listen in.
02:31U.S. President Joe Biden now says he's convinced that Vladimir Putin has made up his mind
02:36and will attack Ukraine in earnest.
02:39Speaking in front of reporters in a televised speech on Friday afternoon,
02:44the president, citing U.S. intelligence, said,
02:46quote, we believe that they will target Ukraine's capital, Kiev.
02:50He made another call and plea for diplomacy.
02:54However, U.S. officials now say the prospects of bringing the two sides to the negotiating table
02:59to find some sort of middle ground remains grim.
03:02This while President of Russia Vladimir Putin also says that he hopes they can find
03:08a diplomatic path forward to the current standoff.
03:11Still, after President Biden held another urgent last-minute call with European leaders,
03:17it seems both sides are convinced that the European continent is on the brink of a large-scale war,
03:25the largest conflict perhaps since World War II.
03:28As the West works on the initial sanctions package in case Russia does go ahead and invade Ukraine,
03:35the Russians say that they don't plan on staging that incursion.
03:41However, Russia will have a military drill this weekend.
