00:00The New Dawn is an old school survival horror with a few new combat mechanics that you need

00:08to master in order to survive.

00:14Set in a bleak alternate future where all the humanity has been wiped out, you play

00:21as a traveler passed by the mysterious collective to dive back into the past and collect the

00:27essences of key people targeted by the collective.

00:34The game is played from a third-person perspective and its combat is designed to make players

00:39feel rewarded for thinking strategically.

00:45This is the kind of game where you can't afford to waste bullets, nor you can ignore any loot

00:50drops or opportunities for crafting.

00:55Instead the focus, especially in the first few hours, is on pure survival.

01:00You have to make use of your limited inventory, pick up every last bullet and healing item

01:07and learn how to finish off enemies as efficiently as possible.

01:11A key strategy here is to charge up your weapon for each shot, which deals more damage and

01:17helps you save more ammo.

01:21Then as you get increasingly powerful by unlocking more upgrades for your suit and weapons, you'll

01:27find that enemies which one posed a challenge are now easier to deal with and you'll have

01:33enough tools in your arsenal to face off against even bigger threats.

01:39But remember, the enemies in this game have a trick up their sleeve, they can merge.

01:46Any enemy you can kill can be absorbed by other nearby enemies, making them stronger and tougher.

01:56Fire is your best friend in this game.

01:58You can use it to burn the bodies of the dead enemies and also to interrupt the merge as

02:04it's happening.

02:05Additionally, there are red barrels that you can shoot to cause an explosion and eliminate

02:11multiple enemies at once.

02:15What's more, all of your weapons serve different roles.

02:20Some are meant for close quarters combat, others better suited for long range shooting.

02:28You can even change their firing modes with different upgrades at the traveler's workstation.

02:36And remember, only use melee as your last resort, not your primary tool.
