00:00It's official, Mayim Bialik and Ken Jennings are the permanent hosts of Jeopardy!

00:05The announcement was made Wednesday, revealing that the duo will share hosting duties and dividing an assortment of specials.

00:12Jennings will start the season in September and run through year's end, with Bialik set to take over in January.

00:18The move will also afford Bialik the opportunity to film Fox's comedy, Call Me Cat.

00:22Jennings will also host the Second Chance competition and Tournament of Champions,

00:27while Bialik will return for ABC's primetime Celebrity Jeopardy!

00:31Production on the new season will begin on Monday.

00:34The news caps a messy period of transition following beloved host Alex Trebek's passing,

00:39when the show's former showrunner and executive producer Mike Richards was announced as Trebek's replacement last August,

00:45but ousted from the role following a series of scandals.
