00:00We decided to do a cute little photo shoot with Leighton
00:04since Halloween will be her last first holiday.
00:08Yay!
00:12Leighton was having a pretty rough day today.
00:15Since starting daycare, she has had some of the daycare
00:18viruses, so she's still recuperating.
00:21We're definitely going to do her first birthday party.
00:23Make it extra special.
00:25I like this area a lot.
00:26I would not mind moving up here.
00:28I think you should.
00:29You seem pretty dead set on staying here,
00:30so I don't think I have much of a choice.
00:32I'm really excited about my future with Ally.
00:34I've met the woman I'm going to marry,
00:36and I just can't wait to be together for the rest of our lives.
00:40So have you talked to Emma and Alex about their talk with Ana?
00:44Alex was not happy.
00:46They were quite stressed.
00:48She made the decision to not attend the graduation.
00:52And all Emma and Alex were asking for is just an apology.
00:55Just say you're sorry.
00:57I apologize to Alex and Emma about missing their graduation.
01:01I wish all of them understood that, like,
01:05me pulling back from family events.
01:06Honestly, it's mom and dad.
01:09I didn't feel welcome being around them.
01:10I feel like shining, yeah, I'm unstoppable.
01:12I'm feeling fired up, yeah, I'm ready to go.
01:14Okay.
01:16They're so starving.
01:18I'm starving.
01:20Leighton's first birthday is this weekend, and my friends Carol and Dacey are in town to celebrate,
01:38and I get to spend some time with them as well.
01:40What have you had here?
01:42Their tacos are good.
01:43Fajitos are great.
01:43Ooh, I love fajitos.
01:45What's adobe chicken?
01:46Adobe chicken?
01:47It's a little chicken with a little spicy.
01:48Spice, yeah.
01:52It's not bad.
01:53It's mild.
01:53It's very mild.
01:54Stacy and I are sharing a bathroom this weekend.
01:55I need to keep it nice.
01:57I appreciate it.
01:58I appreciate it.
02:00Me and Carol are sharing a bathroom tonight, and I think she got the less spicy chicken,
02:05so I think I'm good.
02:06She brought perfume, so if we need it, we got it.
02:08If you're not farting, there's something wrong with you.
02:10That is true.
02:11I mean, I guess everyone does have to, yes.
02:16How's been moving to Florida?
02:17Gosh, I haven't seen you in forever, so I haven't seen you since you've been?
02:20Since Tennessee was the last time.
02:21Good.
02:22Hot.
02:23The last time we were all three together was two and a half years ago in Nashville,
02:28which is crazy.
02:29Time really does fly, but we all have been pretty busy.
02:32You are now engaged.
02:35I didn't really get a good look at it yet.
02:37So pretty.
02:38It's beautiful.
02:39It fits your hand like perfect.
02:40Have you gotten used to it?
02:41First, it was like too tall.
02:44Yeah.
02:44It's like I'm used to it.
02:46I've expressed to Bryce whenever he feels ready to propose, it should be on his time when he's ready,
02:52because he's the one buying the ring.
02:55He's the one that's going to ask the big question.
02:57Now, since we're working on a home, long as Bryce doesn't spend a mortgage on a ring, I'm good.
03:02So how's teaching life?
03:03I love my job.
03:05I wouldn't want to do anything else, but it's like I'm responsible for 20 little lives every
03:10day.
03:10They keep me on my toes.
03:11I'm just responsible for one life and I'm just...
03:14But I would love to be home with her.
03:16It's kind of been on the table of whether or not I should become just the full-blown stay-at-home
03:20mom or not.
03:21Hey.
03:22Maybe.
03:22We don't really know if daycare is for sure Layton's most needed thing right now,
03:28just with all the health struggles that she's been through just getting so sick.
03:31Yeah.
03:32Bryce and I are thinking about taking Layton out of daycare right now because she has had
03:36a lot of respiratory viruses.
03:38And really, just the big thing is just how young she is.
03:42It just worries me, especially with as much as I love her, I care about her so much.
03:47I just don't want anything to happen to her.
03:49If you do get to stay home, you'll be able to soak up every moment, all the little things.
03:54Like, you'll most likely, more likely to be there with her first steps.
03:58Yeah.
03:59Even for me, I'm far from it, but I would love to be a stay-at-home mom.
04:02My school roster of 20 kids is enough for me.
04:06I am fine if I do not have a kid.
04:07For right now.
04:08Really?
04:08Yes.
04:09Come on, you need a Dacey Elizabeth.
04:11Yeah.
04:12That is a beautiful name.
04:15Layton gives me baby fever, and I'm nowhere near that.
04:17But, because she's so stinking cute.
04:19I don't even want kids but looking at Layton.
04:21Like, I want a baby because of Layton.
04:23But if they don't look like Layton, I'm going to be sad.
04:27I remember I was in high school and had no concept of money.
04:29I wanted five kids.
04:31I would like three or four at least.
04:33I thought I wanted like three or four, but I'll be okay with two.
04:36Bryce and I have agreed on two kids simply for the fact that I would love to try for an LP,
04:43the second one being a boy.
04:44So, I'm roping him in somewhere.
04:46He can be in pretty much LP that looks just like me.
04:49Look, you have a grown daughter that looks just like you.
04:52We can have an LP son that somehow looks just like me.
04:56But we agreed that we are going to love and cherish our solo time with Layton,
05:01at least until she's potty trained.
05:03But I want to have a chance to be an aunt.
05:05So, I'm really hoping Alex and Allie stick together.
05:07I think that's a hard thing.
05:08Dating other little people is that's my problem.
05:11Y'all know I'm a North Carolina girl through and through.
05:13I could stay in my little town the rest of my life and be completely happy.
05:16But not many men want to move to there.
05:19So, I'm hoping he's already there.
05:20But then that most likely means he's not a little person.
05:23I tried the LP world, but the LP world just didn't really seem for me.
05:28Whenever I met Bryce, I mean, it was just, we connected well.
05:31And no, did I automatically think, oh, I wish you were little?
05:34No.
05:34I was like, cool, you're tall.
05:36Because half the other guys I'd meet in the LP world, I was taller than them.
05:39Tall LP or a tall average man, I just wanted somebody taller than me.
05:42I keep telling you it's going to be some country hunk that decides to return,
05:46like a Hallmark movie.
05:46He's going to pop up.
05:48Or it's going to be a little person that we've never met.
05:50It's just going to pop out and they're just going to be like, wow.
05:54I've always said, go short or go home.
05:56I am not going tall.
05:57I do not want to, uh-uh.
05:58Hey, and that's your preference.
06:00Yes.
06:01Average height men, they could be on the front cover of a Sports Illustrated magazine.
06:06I would not be attractive to them.
06:07I'm the opposite.
06:08I'm not going to lie.
06:09I look at a Sports Illustrated magazine, I'm like, dang, they're hot.
06:13And I would love to marry that.
06:15I just want a man that loves God, loves me, and will do all the car stuff because I don't do car stuff.
06:20If he can pump my tire up, change my oil, we're good.
06:24My top three must-haves for a future husband is wanting a family and having a loving family.
06:32Always pushing yourself for, like, the relationship and, you know, actions and doing stuff with,
06:39doing actions instead of just words.
06:41Just being honest and me and putting me as number one.
06:44It's like when people ask us if we want little people babies or not.
06:48I'm sorry, but dwarf babies are just so stinking cute.
06:51Like, oh my gosh, they're big old heads.
06:53Yes, I want a little person baby, but definitely not my first one,
06:57just because it would be tough as, like, a young adult to, like, deal with, like, all the medical,
07:04like, conditions.
07:05Like, I know a close friend that they've been in the hospital for over a year.
07:09She has a little person baby.
07:11So, like, as my first, with my first kid at least, I would definitely prefer an average size.
07:19I would just try one more for a try for a little.
07:22Yes, I've been through a lot of struggles in my life when it came to surgeries,
07:26and that just kind of comes with being an LP.
07:28But I would love to have a little kid, and Bryce would too.
07:31You have to always remember that health things doesn't just affect little people.
07:34It affects average size people.
07:36And, I mean, I think that would really just kind of complete our family
07:40if we just had one tall, one little.
07:42It would be good.
07:43What's scary to think about is, like, you can have a dwarf baby, no problem.
07:47It's like, for me and Zach, if we were to have one,
07:50I have thought about just going through IVF and avoiding the whole double dominant thing.
07:54When a couple who both have acorn reflation dwarfism have children,
07:58there's a 25% chance that their child could be double dominant, which means their lungs,
08:03there's not enough tissue for that dwarf baby to be able to breathe on their own.
08:09Bryce and I, however, we don't have to worry about that.
08:11It's just a straight 50-50 doll, 50-50 little.
08:15If I want a baby, like, I don't want to go to...
08:17Because my mom went through a loss with a double dominant.
08:19Just, I couldn't put myself through that.
08:22My mom and dad are both little people.
08:24And before they had me, they went through a double dominant pregnancy.
08:27And so it's like, that's a fear that I have.
08:29And just the thought of pregnancy doesn't make me excited for it.
08:32If I were to become pregnant, I wouldn't be happy because of just that fear.
08:36The automatic stress of just wondering.
08:38The statistics of the life expectancy of a double dominant child is not...
08:43Like, most of the time, it doesn't make it past two months old.
08:46When did you know with Layton that she was average?
08:48Average? We kept going back and forth. Oh, my God.
08:50That was stressful.
08:51Layton is beautiful.
08:52Trying to figure out little or tall and measuring the femur.
08:54But as soon as we saw her be able to ball up...
08:57She's average.
08:57She was able to get in the fetal position.
08:59She's got too much body.
09:00Yeah.
09:01I wish I loved her to death.
09:02It would not change anything for the world.
09:04I was the first one to know that Elizabeth was pregnant.
09:08I was the one to, like, hide, like, the fact that she was going to doctor's appointments,
09:12going to get ultrasound.
09:14And I supported her.
09:14Like, it felt great to, like, have a sister bond.
09:17But it's sad that once mom and dad knew, it was just me pushed away to the side.
09:23That'll be a night I will never forget, is you calling and telling us.
09:26Uh-huh.
09:27I was sitting in Boston.
09:29And I get a call from Liz and Carol.
09:31And I was like, oh, shoot.
09:32We're either taking another girl trip or something going on.
09:36After telling, of course, Anna being the first one,
09:39I just needed to get it off my chest with them.
09:40And so before I went out to dinner with Bryce that night,
09:44I decided to call and FaceTime and tell them.
09:47And they were pretty...
09:47I think she just wanted the support, too, because...
09:50Yeah, because Bryce and I were iffy at the time.
09:52She was nervous.
09:54So she just needed her girlfriends to help her.
09:56Yeah.
09:57And we were shocked, too.
09:58But we were like, oh, my gosh!
09:59And apparently, this one didn't believe me.
10:02Like, even at your baby shower, I went and I was like,
10:05sorry, there's still no way she's pregnant.
10:06Like, I just can't believe that, like, she's pregnant.
10:09And then, like, your belly was big.
10:11And I was like, I think she's pregnant.
10:15I think she really is.
10:17It is crazy, because she was the first of our friend group to become a mom.
10:21And it's so sweet.
10:22It's kind of scary.
10:23You're like, wow, I'm growing up.
10:24I need y'all to catch up.
10:25We added a new little person to our little friend group.
10:28That's right.
10:29Yeah.
10:30We added another girl.
10:32Now, look at us.
10:33Going from being 16, talking about prom.
10:36Now, we're talking about babies and engagement.
10:39I know.
10:40You got to keep me in the loop so I can start training her to be a flower girl.
10:43I got to find a plus one.
10:45Stacy's available.
10:46I am available.
10:51Let's go paint Leighton's birthday plates.
10:56Leighton's birthday plate.
10:58Yeah.
10:58Yes.
11:02So today, Lolly and Aunt Emma are with me, because for one of Leighton's birthday gift items,
11:09I have always wanted to make her a birthday plate.
11:12So Leighton, coming up on her first birthday, this is kind of like the start of her birthdays here in the future.
11:18And each year, she will have a pretty little plate to eat on with a piece of cake.
11:22Trying to get my font app to load, because I could go off of it to Peyton.
11:26Leighton's name.
11:28Yeah, let's see some inspo.
11:32Personally, I've always liked homemade gifts, because you can buy anything online.
11:36But like, stuff made is stuff that you get to keep and carry on.
11:40You know, I can't wait to think about doing this with Leighton.
11:43Like how you used to take us doing this kind of stuff.
11:46Bryce keeps talking about taking her hunting and fishing.
11:47And I'm like, okay, you do that.
11:49And I'm going to do all the fun princessy stuff.
11:52Bryce is actually putting together Leighton's first birthday gift.
11:59Does Elizabeth know you're doing a tackle box, or is it all a surprise?
12:02I told her I'd do something.
12:03I don't think she knows I'm doing a tackle box.
12:05She'll like it.
12:06The tackle box is for you to teach Leighton's.
12:10Hopefully, she likes fishing.
12:11You got to remember, no matter what, it's all about the moment, not about fishing.
12:16Yeah, I can teach you a lot of things.
12:18The number one objective is to be done before the girls get home.
12:22Because I bought three different frames for Leighton's lullaby.
12:27If I show them three different frames, they'll tell me which one to use.
12:30Yeah.
12:31When Leighton was born, every Thursday for about four months, I kept Leighton.
12:38It's okay.
12:39Look, Papa's right here.
12:41I would sing Leighton this lullaby, and he would stop fussing and stop crying.
12:46And 10 years from now, 15 years from now, 20 years from now, if I'm not here,
12:49I wanted Leighton to know this song.
12:51Hey, little Leighton, don't you cry.
12:54Papa's going to sing you a lullaby.
12:56And if that song don't make you smile, Papa's going to sing it for a long, long while.
13:01Hey, little Leighton, look at you now.
13:04You're the sweetest little girl in this town.
13:07And it's a lot of jibber jabber after that.
13:09It really worked.
13:10Yeah.
13:11Elizabeth said she has sang it before to her, and she stops her fussing.
13:15Mm-hmm.
13:18Can you believe that you've only been an aunt for a year?
13:20It doesn't feel like it.
13:22When Leighton first came home, she definitely was still, like, very tiny,
13:28and she didn't really do a lot because she was a baby.
13:31Now she is talking.
13:34She is crawling everywhere, playing with toys.
13:38She definitely has more of a personality now.
13:40Oh, yeah.
13:42I'll never forget how Dr. Hathaway's just sitting there waiting to be gloved.
13:45She's like, you ready?
13:45And I was like, hell, I don't know now.
13:49Laying on the table.
13:50And then, God, it didn't even feel like a second.
13:53Then I woke up, and then Bryce is just right there.
13:56And then I see Leighton.
13:57And then we passed the window.
13:58I saw y'all.
13:58And then I do remember crying out the window, seeing all y'all.
14:01When we heard that Laying came out safe and she's healthy, as well as Elizabeth, I was really
14:08relief.
14:09First time holding my niece, I was definitely a little bit emotional and definitely, like,
14:14wow, she is finally here.
14:16It does feel surreal that I'm about to have my daughter's first birthday, though.
14:21Time flies when you're having fun.
14:23Sure is.
14:24Yeah, you got too much fun.
14:28Just saying.
14:28You know what's crazy?
14:32The other day, you guys were telling us y'all were having a baby.
14:36And tonight, we're making birthday presents for our first birthday.
14:40When Elizabeth and Bryce told us that we were going to be grandparents, I wouldn't be real
14:43if I told you I wasn't disappointed in the beginning.
14:46It wasn't the plan for our daughter.
14:48It took a lot for me to accept it.
14:50I think it'd be safe to say that all three of us might have had the same disappointment,
14:54just that it happened right now.
14:57That it happened right now.
14:58And of course, everybody told us it's amazing, it's a blessing, and you're going to love it.
15:02But nobody ever told us that we would love seeing our daughter be a mother.
15:08Watching Elizabeth be a mother, it's great, it's rewarding, and I'm grateful today that
15:12I am a grandfather.
15:14Will Elizabeth really put this on the wall?
15:16Yeah.
15:17You know, there's something to do with Leighton, and you did it.
15:19I'll hum that, hum something like that when she's, when I'm weighing her down at night,
15:24she'll fall asleep.
15:26Seeing Bryce as a dad, he's wonderful with her.
15:28He is more patient with her than Elizabeth is at times.
15:31But that's their personalities.
15:33It's cute now to see when Bryce walks in the house and she turns around and sees him.
15:37And she'll drop down and crawl across the floor and reach up to him.
15:42And our kids did that to me when I would come home from work.
15:45It's a good feeling.
15:47I love being a dad.
15:48Just whenever she buries her head in me when she sees somebody else.
15:52She don't recognize.
15:53There's times when you've seen Leighton reach for you.
15:56Yeah.
15:56When we've been in a crowd, and she might already realize that you're taller than us.
16:03And she wants to be higher away, you know, farther away from people.
16:06Yeah.
16:08She lights up whenever she sees him, and they're very sweet together.
16:14And it's hilarious because there are certain things with Leighton that I have seen in Bryce.
16:19Like, they are very similar in their demeanors.
16:21Like, Leighton likes her own space.
16:23She's going to turn the pages at her own pace.
16:26Bryce likes his space.
16:27He is going to take his time doing whatever it is he's doing.
16:31It's hilarious.
16:31Some facial expressions.
16:33Oh, my God.
16:34Like...
16:35There's been some ways she's smiled at me.
16:37And, like, just looking at her, I'm like, I mean, that really honestly looks just like...
16:40Looks like you.
16:42Yeah.
16:42He's a great dad.
16:43Very sweet.
16:47Over his last year, what do you think's been your most, like, rewarding?
16:52I know the big thing is we finally got Leighton in a good sleep routine.
16:59That's what I say.
17:01I feel like that's, like, more of the times where me and Elizabeth struggle.
17:07You know, when she wakes up during the night, we're half asleep and we're yelling at each other,
17:10but we're half asleep.
17:12Y'all got to work together.
17:13Elizabeth's patients are about like mine.
17:16They're as short as our legs.
17:18Yes, sir.
17:19But I think both of y'all have done good.
17:21Thanks.
17:22We try our best.
17:24We do have the best little girl in the world.
17:27And we want to be the best parents to her, because, I mean, she deserves it.
17:30She's the sweetest little girl.
17:32And we just want her to always be happy.
17:35Put a little saying on it.
17:37I love you so much, daddy.
17:39That's it.
17:41Looks good.
17:41This is Leighton's first tackle box.
17:45And I can't wait to get her to use it for the first time.
17:47So, I think she'll love it.
17:51Mine's just a simple little wall art with my handwriting of her lullaby.
17:55So, you're all done?
17:59Mm-hmm.
18:00Oh, it's so cute.
18:01It looks so cute.
18:03I am super happy with how my plate turned out.
18:05I think I did a fabulous job, and I hope Leighton loves it just as much as I enjoyed doing it.
18:10Look.
18:12Yeah, they'll sit on me.
18:14I think googly eyes elevate when you're not the best painter.
18:20And the reason why we do ladybugs is because that's what we call Leighton.
18:25All right.
18:26Let's do it.
18:26Let's do it.
18:54Wow.
18:55That's good.
18:56Tonight, I needed a break from all of Leighton's party prepping.
19:00And luckily, my friends hit me up, and we kind of planned out a poker game night to obviously
19:06catch up, but also give my brain a refresh and a reset.
19:10We'll throw in a white chip.
19:13The outfits tonight is poker night.
19:15Let's just do suits, but just the top half.
19:20I didn't get a memo.
19:22Two white chip.
19:23I don't know if you broke it or not.
19:24I don't know if you broke it or not.
19:26Just give me your best poker face.
19:28You're trying to squeak.
19:31You have an awful poker face.
19:33You ready?
19:34Three, two, one, let it go.
19:39Pair ace, pair of queens.
19:52Yeah, you got it.
19:53Yeah, you got it.
19:56That was Ashley.
19:57Good.
19:57I mean, there's a lot of peace of mind that goes with being in a relationship when you're
20:01long distance.
20:02She knows I ain't going anywhere and vice versa.
20:04Ashley's my forever person.
20:07We've gone through a lot and there's nobody else in the world that I want to do life with.
20:13I don't know.
20:14I've never really done long distance though.
20:16Bro, long distance is the worst.
20:18It's the best.
20:18It's not the best.
20:20There was no peace of mind for me in long distance.
20:23I hated every second of it.
20:24I haven't dated in my own state ever.
20:26Well, I had some close distance too.
20:29So I'm recently divorced about a year ago now.
20:32I haven't really been back in the dating scene since.
20:35I've like, I've tried here and there, but I haven't really got back into it.
20:39What's like the reason, like how'd you know it was time to break up?
20:41Well, that brings me to like red flags.
20:43When like communication fell off or like the general care in the whole matter fell off.
20:51Like if there's no effort, I guess that's what I'm saying.
20:53That's like when I'm like, oh yeah, I'm out.
20:55Well, the relationship, like you say, is work.
20:58You can't just stop building it.
21:00What is like an automatic ick for you?
21:03You're out, red flag, game over.
21:05I can't stand when you're hanging out as a group.
21:07And like the person you're with just gets loud for no reason.
21:12My immediate ick is people who bend down and talk to me.
21:15That's good.
21:16That's good.
21:16When an oversized person kneels or squats or leans over to talk to me,
21:21stand up straight and talk to me because I'm standing up straight talking to you.
21:24A height does not separate us.
21:25Always like texting and never like calling to talk to each other.
21:31Not loving dogs.
21:32Poor hygiene in general.
21:34That could be like body odor, bad breath, all that stuff.
21:38Like that just grosses me out.
21:40Mine, it'd probably be if you don't like Taylor Swift.
21:45God rest his soul if he's not a Taylor Swift fan.
21:49I don't know how your first date played out,
21:51but like I kind of knew there that Mike could go somewhere.
21:53Did you have that love at first sight type ?
21:57Not for her.
21:58Me to her, yeah, but her to me, no.
22:00Oh.
22:00Yeah.
22:01Did you?
22:01Hell yeah.
22:02I was in the same boat as Slimmy.
22:04Now y'all are both at a place where it's getting to the point where there's a,
22:07you know, ring talk involved.
22:09I could be with her right now, but mine's strictly finance.
22:12I have not thought of how I was going to propose.
22:15Obviously with the ring.
22:16Gotten that far.
22:17Don't know where the setting will be.
22:18But don't really have a timeline.
22:20I'm living things day by day and waiting for her to, you know, finish school.
22:25It'll happen.
22:26It scares the hell out of me.
22:28What makes you scared?
22:29Not like scared of her, but like, I guess the fact that like getting a little bit older.
22:34Jonah and Ashley's relationship is a good relationship.
22:36They've been together for quite a while.
22:38But I think it's going to be kind of like the tornado.
22:41Bam.
22:42Tornado's here.
22:43Everybody take cover.
22:44That's, that's how we're going to find out through Jonah.
22:46This is not like hurricane weather where we have this long notice and we all have time to prepare.
22:52Why do you relate away to some of the worst disasters?
23:01It just comes to a point where if you're ready, nothing's going to stop you and nobody should stop you.
23:07But it's your call on when you're ready.
23:10Yeah.
23:12Are we going all in right here?
23:13Yeah.
23:16Three, two, one.
23:17Pair of sevens.
23:17Pair of jacks.
23:19Pair of fours.
23:20Pair of jacks wins it.
23:22Let's go.
23:24I hope we're better at relationships than poker.
23:26Yeah.
23:52What are you doing?
23:55Why do you have a ladder?
23:57Actually, I've got my mom's quilt.
24:00Why are you hanging the quilt over?
24:01Sound barrier.
24:04Oh my gosh.
24:05We haven't loved in a long time.
24:06We've just done like fast loves.
24:10And it's always like there's too many people.
24:12So you know what tonight?
24:13I got about a half inch of homemade sound dampening.
24:17The makeshift sound dampening.
24:19Is to make the outside world in our home not hear us in the bedroom.
24:28Yes.
24:32Dad.
24:33Oh, good God, I swear.
24:34Dad.
24:35Why?
24:35What are you doing?
24:36Banging.
24:38Yeah, what are you banging?
24:39I'm about to bang your mother.
24:40That's right.
24:41Go away.
24:41Turn the TV back up.
24:42Okay, I'm out.
24:44I bet she won't ask me that again.
24:47She's 19 though.
24:48She can hear that kind of stuff.
24:49This is going to stay up for a while.
24:55Did you notice something else?
24:56Yeah.
24:57Why do we have the TV covered?
24:59The other day, I walked by this.
25:07Oh my gosh, very, very original.
25:12With Leighton turning one so quickly, it sometimes makes you feel like, wow, you're aging very fast too.
25:19It's important to me not to forget about my relationship with my wife and for us to keep
25:25that love and keep that spark. You have to learn to continue to love and love in different ways.
25:31Do you feel like a lolly?
25:32Definitely a lolly. Lollies can be pretty hip.
25:35Yeah.
25:36But this year though of being grandparents, it was good. But the second year, I have a feeling
25:44is definitely going to be a lot more busy and moving.
25:49She's already going.
25:50Yeah, I know. But it's really going to be on the move.
25:52Do you think they're going to be here another year?
25:54No.
25:55I mean, it'll depend on if they find a house that's already built or if they move forward
26:00was wanting to build. But I don't know. I mean.
26:04After speaking with the builder, we don't think we're money ready to necessarily build on a home
26:11on the plot of land that my parents purchased. So we are going to go back to looking at potential
26:18homes to buy off the market to save some money.
26:20Are you going to be sad that they moved out and Leighton moved out?
26:23Yeah. I mean, I think it's going to be a change for all of us.
26:26I mean, I miss Elizabeth and Bryce, but that's especially her.
26:29But it'll be good for Elizabeth and Bryce and Leighton to be on their own. And that's something
26:36else that has, I think, grown a lot in the last, probably more so in the last three or four months
26:43is Elizabeth and Bryce as a couple and as a parent.
26:49Well, they know what needs to be done and they don't have to tell each other.
26:52Yeah.
26:52I see that now.
26:54Yeah.
26:56Elizabeth and Bryce have definitely grown as parents over the last year. If anything can be
27:01trying that a child, bring a child into a relationship. Both parents have to work together
27:09and continue to move forward and work and communicate with each other on, you know,
27:16raising that baby. And they have done that. I definitely think they're figuring it out.
27:23And then we'll get our life back together a little bit more.
27:25Until the next thing.
27:27Probably something to do with Anna. I overheard Elizabeth and Emma talking about Anna and the
27:36party. And if she was coming or I didn't ask if she was invited. I don't know if she was invited
27:40or if she knows about it. She knows when Leighton's birthday is. Obviously she was there when Leighton was
27:45born. But was she sent an invitation? Not at this point because she's not speaking to any one of her
27:53family members. It definitely hurts and makes me upset that I was such a big part in the beginning.
28:00And I'm not part of Leighton's life right now. And she's about to be one. Like, y'all should have
28:07literally scratched out family drama and let me be there for Leighton's birthday party.
28:13If she really wanted to come to the birthday or wanted to have a relationship, we have told her
28:22multiple times, when you're ready, let us know. She chooses not.
28:27If she truly wants to be a part of her niece's life, she would personally make the effort to come
28:32and to see her and to be with her. But she showed none of that.
28:36At the end of the day, if she was here, it'd just be awkward.
28:40Yeah. Leighton doesn't even know her.
28:42Yeah.
28:42She hasn't seen Leighton in months.
28:44I'm ready to go to bed.
28:47I think we should do a selfie. Let's do a selfie.
28:51Banging B-A-N-G-I-N?
28:57Yeah.
28:57Watch this.
29:07I'll be out with some more sobrileos.
29:08Bouncing B-A-N-G-I-N?
29:10Bouncing B-A-N-G-I-N?
29:12Bouncing B-A-N-G-I-N?
29:14Bouncing B-A-N-G-I-N-G-I-N-G-I-N-G-I-N-G-I-N-G-I-N-G-I-N-G-I-N-G-I-N-G-I-N-G-I-N-G-I-N-G-I-N-G-I-N-G-I-N-G-I-N-G-I-N-G-I-N-G-I-N-G-I-N-G-I-N-G-I-N-G-I-N-G-I-N-G-I-N-G-I-N-G-I-N-G-I-N-G-I-N-G-I-N-G-I-N-G-I-N-G-I-N-G-I-N-G-I-N-G-
29:44We have Bryce's family here and then our family here and Elizabeth's close friends here and
29:55some of our family friends that have watched. Elizabeth and the rest of our kids grow up,
30:00they're all gathered here today to celebrate Leighton.
30:03Hey, we talking? Yeah, I'm babbling.
30:07Are you trying to walk?
30:09Yes.
30:10Getting close.
30:11She goes around like the tables and stuff.
30:13Yeah, she's any week is no time.
30:18She's good practice for you guys.
30:19Oh, yeah.
30:21It makes you want to get married?
30:23No, it's probably the best form of breast control.
30:25You're wrong, Jonah?
30:27No.
30:30Uncle Jonah's fine.
30:31Is that what you say to Alex?
30:33Fun to uncle for now.
30:34For now?
30:35Yeah.
30:36I enjoy having my niece around, obviously, but I still have a lot of stuff to get through first
30:40before I get baby fever, so she's like the perfect dose of baby right now for us.
30:45For sure.
30:45Elizabeth and Leighton have the same amount of patients.
30:49Like none?
30:50So she gets that from her mama?
30:52Right.
30:53That pretty dark hair is Bryce.
30:55Yeah.
30:56And the curls are from Bryce, too.
30:57And the eyes.
30:58You shy like you did.
30:59I mean, it took him years to, like, really conversate with us.
31:04Now, if I talked about hunting or fishing, it was like, but I don't know enough about
31:09that.
31:10I grew up being shy from people, and I'm kind of still like that today.
31:15So I feel like Leighton is the same way with, you know, big crowds.
31:20Cute.
31:22She said, yeah, yeah.
31:24Hi, Dad.
31:25Hi, Dad.
31:26Mama.
31:26Mama.
31:27She's so, there we go.
31:29We'll start getting loud.
31:31I guess the personality that she got from her mom is all the talking.
31:35When she's around people she likes, she talks a lot.
31:37I mean, she'll say it so loud.
31:39You can hear it from all the way on the other side of the house.
31:42I promise you, there's only one person she absolutely despises, and it's Annie.
31:47Seriously, my mom puts her on FaceTime, and she hears her voice.
31:50We automatic, Heidi.
31:53Never.
31:53She is not.
31:54She's in denial.
31:55Yeah.
31:56Yeah.
31:56She's not wild about me.
32:00Some days, it's like a love-hate relationship.
32:03I don't know what she's got going on, but it's the, I think I'm a little overanimated, so
32:08I'm trying to back off of that a little bit, because some days she's like, yeah.
32:12Other days, I'm like, mm.
32:15The goal for the first birthday party for me today was just not to make her cry.
32:19Is it just about everybody?
32:21I think so.
32:22Bryce's mom and daddy is not going to be able to make it.
32:23She's been sick, and Anna's not coming either.
32:27All right.
32:27Do you want to do hate?
32:29Yeah.
32:30First birthday photos?
32:34Uh-oh.
32:34Don't let her touch it.
32:36Girl.
32:37Girl.
32:38You die for one more.
32:40Ready?
32:40One, two, three.
32:42Happy birthday to you.
32:46Get her legs.
32:46Happy birthday to you.
32:51Happy birthday, dear Layton.
32:55Happy birthday to you.
32:59Ready?
33:00One, two, three.
33:01Yay.
33:02Yay.
33:06I found the problem.
33:09Heidi, you right in front of center.
33:12You can see her face.
33:14Back away, Heidi.
33:15I have known Heidi for 49 years, and she's made me cry.
33:21So I feel the granddaughter vibe.
33:23You get it.
33:24I get it.
33:26We'll do it.
33:27We'll do it.
33:27I just realized.
33:28I was like, crap.
33:29We don't know if it's just because how abrupt she comes up to her, if it's her voice, if it's
33:34the way she looks.
33:36Here's what I think it is.
33:37Like when Layton sees the back of her, she thinks it's like Anna, Amber, or Elizabeth,
33:42or somebody, but whenever she turns around and it's like a total different face, I think
33:45that's what scares her.
33:47Look, it's a pretty cake.
33:49Oh, yeah.
33:49Look, it's a pretty cake.
33:51Yeah.
33:53Look.
33:55She's just like her daddy.
33:57He gets things on his fingers.
33:58He wants to go and wipe off.
34:02Ooh.
34:02Ooh.
34:03You want to eat it with this food?
34:05Come on, ladybug.
34:06She ate a bite.
34:07She ate a bite.
34:09I'm a brother, baby.
34:12Hey, I'm the life of the body.
34:17Shots all around for everybody.
34:19My money has no limits.
34:21What party yet I spend?
34:23Today, we are celebrating Miss Layton's first birthday.
34:27And she's handling it like freaking fantastic.
34:31The only time she's cried is around her nemesis, Aunt Heidi.
34:35She was doing amazing.
34:36Aw.
34:37Layton, that's so pretty.
34:40You're going to look so cute in that, girl.
34:41I'm too much.
34:42Cute.
34:43That'll fit her long legs, too.
34:44That was long.
34:44We won't have to worry about altering any of that.
34:46She's like ready to wear.
34:48Yeah.
34:49This past year with Liz and Bryce being new parents,
34:52it's been so sweet.
34:54And they have taken it on so naturally.
34:56You can tell Layton's very attached to mom and dad.
35:00We got one more, babe.
35:01Oh, is that what I think it is?
35:03Oh.
35:03It's her first fishing ball.
35:05There's Bryce's gift that he's excited for.
35:07Layton, are you going to go fishing with dad?
35:09That is perfect.
35:10That was like the real deal.
35:12You did good, little baby.
35:14Cute.
35:15That's pretty well.
35:16And her daddy actually made her a tackle box to go with it.
35:20For him to be a father is just amazing.
35:23I knew he'd be a good one because he's just a very gentle person.
35:27It's really been extremely exciting to watch him fall in love with this baby so much and with Liz.
35:34We just couldn't be any happier.
35:35She said everything that I wanted to say.
35:40All right.
35:41We're going to do one last thing before we wrap this party up.
35:44Any type of event, we have to have a competition.
35:46And we are going to do pretty much kind of like a relay slash-
35:50A baby relay.
35:50A baby relay race.
35:53On your hands and knees, crawling like a baby, you have to weave in and out of the cones.
35:58You have to go through the tunnel.
36:00You have to go all the way around the bear and then through the presents.
36:04We're basically doing heats, so we're going to take the fastest for the grand prize.
36:11All right.
36:11On your mark.
36:14On your knees.
36:15On your knees.
36:16We're not bear crawling.
36:17We're lay and crawling.
36:18Yes, we're lay and crawling.
36:20Lay and crawling.
36:21So Bryce and I are pretty competitive.
36:23And when there are events that we can go against each other, it kind of just, you know, increases our competitiveness.
36:28On your mark.
36:30On your knees, Bryce.
36:31On your knees.
36:33Get set.
36:34Go.
36:34Go, Liz.
36:37Come on, Liz.
36:39Go, Liz.
36:40Go, Liz.
36:40Go, Liz.
36:40Go, Liz.
36:41Go, Liz.
36:42Go.
36:42Go, go, go, go, go, go.
36:44Go, go, go, go, go.
36:45Go, go, go, go.
36:47Ah, you turn.
36:53Woo.
36:54Ah, go.
36:56Daddy long leg right here has an advantage with speed.
37:00because this happens to be half of this,
37:05so with their limbs, they can go faster.
37:07I've played sports in my past.
37:09Oh, sports has nothing to do with it.
37:11You did not crawl to baseball bases.
37:13No. I wonder, didn't I?
37:15Let's go, college grads. Let's go.
37:19On your mark, get set, go.
37:23That is not crawling to it.
37:25That is not crawling.
37:27I definitely don't recommend crawling with a dress
37:30because the ones who had dresses on
37:32kind of seemed to struggle a little bit
37:34because we had to worry about butts or boobs showing, so...
37:37You might risk breaking the dress, too.
37:39Yeah, that's the biggest thing we're worried about
37:41is breaking the dress price.
37:44Go!
37:52You didn't go all the way around the fair.
37:55I just sprained my back and sprained my finger.
37:57Did, like, one of those jerks.
37:59You always have excuses when you lose.
38:02Always.
38:04Go!
38:05It's a competition!
38:07For once, just say, you know what?
38:08I sucked at that game. I lost.
38:10I twisted my back.
38:11Now, I pounded your ass last night,
38:12and I didn't hurt my back, did I?
38:14No, I didn't.
38:15And you seem to have a really good outcome in that.
38:17So...
38:18Oh, my God, I hurt.
38:22It's definitely hard.
38:23I mean, I actually crawl sometimes with Layton,
38:26and, yeah, I mean, it does suck to crawl,
38:30but hopefully she'll be walking soon.
38:33Play by the rules, no cheating.
38:36Everyone's been cheating.
38:37Get set, go!
38:38When it comes to competitions and races,
38:43in most cases,
38:44an oversized person's gonna have the advantage.
38:47Yeah.
38:48It's anatomy.
38:50Longer arms, longer legs.
38:51Oh, she hurt!
38:52Oh, she hurt!
38:54That's why little people like to sabotage and cheat.
38:57It's all about the...
38:58Oh, yeah.
38:58Okay, the fastest was Bryce.
39:07Thanks.
39:07Second place is so much first.
39:09Good job.
39:10A great gift for Layton.
39:11I was doing it all for her.
39:13I was like,
39:13I'm gonna get this prize for her,
