أجرت «إرم بزنس» لقاءً خاصاً مع وزير اقتصاد لاتفيا، الذي أوضح أنّ بلاده تفتح آفاقاً جديدة للاستثمار مع الخليج عبر مشروعات بمليارات اليوروهات، وتطوير ممرات لوجستية، وتوسيع شراكات التكنولوجيا والطاقة المتجددة.

05:02and all they need, they need global partners

05:05and they need new partnerships

05:08and this is what we are doing here today as well

05:12a lot of tech companies as well here with us

05:15and they will get new partnerships

05:19I'm more than sure about that

05:21because we are ready to build them

05:32Of course, we are working on this

05:34and this is one of the unused opportunities

05:37when we are talking about the connection between region

05:40Gulf countries and Nordic Europe region

05:43and mainly access to the EU single market as well

05:47we can see what kind of ports are the Gulf region using now in Europe

05:54and of course there is a very high competitiveness

05:58there is very hard to get into those ports, the pricing

06:01but in Latvia we can see that there is unused opportunity

06:04there is a free space for new companies, trade companies to come in

06:07the corridor is very competitive with others

06:10and sometimes everybody knows Hamburg, Rostock

06:15they know those big ports

06:17but in the same time Riga, Ventspost, Liepāja

06:21they are in the same line

06:23and we can see that even we can see that there is some very great investments happening now

06:30and some of our ports from the United Arab Emirates

06:33they are investing tens of million euros for building production, new production lines

06:37and this is, I am seeing this positive

06:40but like I said, there is a lot of space in there

06:44for other companies to come in and use this transit corridor

06:47and this is what we are going to talk during those days as well

06:51how to start these dialogues more directly

06:55to open ourselves for the new transit corridors

07:01Latvia is one of the largest countries in the energy world

07:05what is the importance of the cooperation between the United States

07:08in the energy world, the hydrogen world, the hydrogen world

07:18who have already succeeded in very great results

07:20in hydrogen technologies development

07:40we are investing now in renewables

07:42last year it was about 500 million

07:46this year it will be around 1 billion

07:48and next year it will be around 1 billion

07:50what will be invested into those technologies

07:53of course it has to be with a long-term vision

07:57and it has to be as a compact

08:04it has to be built as a

08:08with the complements with each other

08:10like you can't just build the solar park

08:12you have to think what will be afterwards there

08:14or how the hydrogen technologies will be involved

08:19into those processes

08:20how the balancing system will work

08:22and over here we can see that

08:24there is a great knowledge

08:26where we can share this knowledge

08:29by opening ourselves to those investments in Latvia

08:32The Emirates are constantly

08:34in terms of the natural systems

08:36do you have any tools for the management

08:38or management between the countries?

08:40We are in these processes

08:42we are working very hard

08:44we are investing very much into those projects

08:48like I said

08:50their investments are in billions of euros

08:54in those years

08:55and it will be the same in the future years

08:59so we are very interested in new partnerships

09:05that's why the energy companies

09:07and different kinds of players from Latvia

09:17who works in this field

09:18are here with us today as well

09:19are ready to find new partners

09:24specifically focusing on some very specific companies already

09:28who are existing here

09:30who have already succeeded great results

09:33We are in better shape than we used to be before

09:51we changed our energy sector

09:53from Russia away to the European

09:57and the US and Norway

10:01we can at the moment

10:03for example we are buying 7 terawatts

10:06like 7 chips of LNG per year from USA

10:11and we are having a better price than it was before

10:16and actually our economy is becoming much stronger than it used to be

10:21because we can rely on our new partners in the energy sector

10:26we actually changed all our energy sector to the different partners

10:29we cut Russian electricity wires as well

10:33we connected to the rail to the European system

10:36and all these steps are actually strengthening our independence in the energy sector

10:43in a couple years we will be no more

10:47there will be no more need for Latvia to import energy

10:52we will totally independent by building new renewable energy production lines

10:57solar wind parks

10:59which are bringing us to the total independence and green energy in Latvia

11:05How did the Russian and Ukrainian war affect you?

11:10and what are your plans for their performance?

11:14we are dealing with those challenges

11:17and they are not any more challenges

11:19like I said there are a couple more years

11:21and we will be totally independent

11:23we used to rely on Russian gas

11:25but now we have new partners

11:27we have partners in Norway

11:28we have partners in USA
