A 22-year-old salesman, Vincent Sak Zhan Sheng, was charged at the Johor Baru Sessions Court on Wednesday (Nov 26) with trafficking three individuals for labour exploitation.

He pleaded not guilty before Judge Hidayatul Syuhada Shamsudin.

Sak faces a charge under Section 12 of the Anti-Trafficking in Persons and Anti-Smuggling of Migrants Act 2007 for allegedly trafficking a 26-year-old man through deception, as well as two additional charges under Section 14 for trafficking a 16-year-old boy and a 15-year-old girl.

00:282007 with trafficking a 26-year-old Malaysian man for labor exploitation through deception.
00:36He was also charged under Section 14 of the same act for trafficking a 16-year-old boy
00:42and a 15-year-old girl for the same purpose. Saak allegedly committed the offenses with five others
00:48at Taman Lagenda Putra in Kulai between April and May this year. Deputy Public Prosecutor Amira
00:57Tasnim Saleh requested the court set bail at 25,000 ringgit for each offense and to also
01:04prohibit Saak from disturbing the victims and witnesses, surrendering his passport and reporting
01:10to the nearest police station once a month. Saak's lawyer, Datin Frida Sabapathy, asked the court to
01:16set a lower bail amount, saying he is the sole caretaker of his widowed mother. Bail was set at
01:2210,000 ringgit for each offense, with the three conditions requested by the prosecution, and
01:28the court also fixed Jan. 13 for next mention.
