00:00Here come the lights in Vegas and we're underway and racing down to turn number one.
00:06Lando Norris is going to need the job but it's super aggressive from the pole sitter,
00:10who's off, who's wide, the lead for Max Verstappen as Lando Norris rejoins.
00:15He went bold but Verstappen got by and now moving up around the outside and trying to take P2 away.
00:21George Russell climbing up to second position, crucial couple of meters for the Grand Prix
00:26for Lando Norris who wants P2, it's dirty, dusty and he can't go late on the brakes.
00:32It's Max Verstappen, George Russell, the pole sitter is down to third.
00:36Lando Norris has lost places, Oscar Piastri's P7 right now, he's lost a couple as well.
00:42Hadjar up to P5, there's a move for Charles Leclerc, that's for ninth position,
00:46late on the brakes into turn 14 as we go over the line.
00:49Verstappen, Russell Norris is the top three in the Grand Prix.
00:52Norris who just missed his break point, so busy was he to get to the inside and Verstappen comes
00:59through, sensational move this from Russell as well around the outside.
01:05What's Bortoleto going to see as he heads down?
01:06Oh my word, clobbers into the side of the Aston Martin and round went Pierre Gasly,
01:13that's how he lost seven places.
01:14Well there's no question who was the cause of that accident,
01:17Bortoleto completely misjudged his braking, now on board with Liam Lawson and then the McLaren.
01:22Oh wow, how lucky was Piastri that that was a wheel-to-wheel contact.
01:28So Antonelli's got a five-second penalty for a false start, he's creeping.
01:32You can see the wheel was moving before the lights went out.
01:37Russell will be doing everything he can to see within a DRS zone of Verstappen.
01:41Oh, damage for Lawson and Piastri gets by. Lawson with front damage to the car and Piastri is up to P6.
01:53Late braking move for Charles Leclerc and he gets past the Haas.
01:57The Ferrari easing by and up to P7, crucial move for his Grand Prix.
02:02Next car up the road, one of the championship contenders, Oscar Piastri.
02:05Here we go for a Ferrari with a pass. It's turning into pass or be passed for Oscar Piastri.
02:13Was trying to line up the move on Isaac Hadjar, instead opens the door for Charles Leclerc.
02:18And that Ferrari is rapid as we build up to 212 miles per hour.
02:23Can Leclerc roar by and get past Piastri? He can! And Piastri's difficult Saturday night goes from bad to worse.
02:30He's got grip, he's got speed and has he got a chance for another position?
02:36Late on the brakes, easing to the inside and taking P5.
02:40Two passes in two laps for Charles Leclerc, who's up to fifth position.
02:45Wow, Hamilton very deep there and the contact was made, so that's why Albon's gone into the pits.
02:56Alex Albon has a five second penalty for causing a collision.
03:00He is staring at six Grand Prix in a row without points.
03:06Green flag is flying once again in Las Vegas. We're racing, chance for Oscar Piastri.
03:10Top of your picture, Papaya Carr moving by, reacting well, and is this the chance to get past?
03:16It is, and now we'll hug the inside line, maybe run over some of that debris that wasn't quite cleared.
03:20But Piastri needed to get past and did so. P6 for the Australian driver.
03:27Sainz is trying to cover off Piastri then, this will be very close.
03:32Shorter distance for Sainz, but he's got to get the tyres fired up.
03:34Yeah, that's going to be key, especially in a long corner here.
03:37And you can see the McLaren all over the back of the Williams with the DRS.
03:42Sainz makes the defensive move, but he's boxed in and Piastri is going to get by.
03:47Piastri had one opportunity to make that work.
03:49He took it and he clears the Williams. He really needed that one, got the move done.
03:56The problem for Norris is that not putting pressure on Russell
03:58means that Russell can have an easier time on his tyres as well and look after them.
04:02It's a difficult balance of trying to attack to make the guy ahead use the tyres.
04:07Piastri's through. Leclerc's going to have the same issue here with Carlos Sainz on the
04:11the hotter hard tyres.
04:13And they come out of the blankets at a lower temperature than operating on the racetrack.
04:18And Sainz is unable to make the impression.
04:21So Charles Leclerc getting track position over Carlos Sainz.
04:24Piastri ahead of the pair of them.
04:26What I can say is that Norris can be quick.
04:30I'll do all the chances of 10 problems.
04:31I don't want to keep it.
04:33Chris the podium.
04:37Do you want me to DRS or try to overtake him?
04:39I overtake him. We're going to go get Max.
04:41We're heading to 200 miles an hour and turn 14.
04:44DRS will open for Lando Norris and he stays on the outside line.
04:49Russell will hug the apex of the corner or try to.
04:52He can't. Norris straight by up to second position.
04:56And now he will try and do what his race engineer told him and chase down Max Verstappen.
05:04Antonelli in fourth position.
05:06The contact between these three that are running line astern.
05:10That's late on the brakes for Antonelli.
05:11Hanging on to this one.
05:13And you can see sliding around and potentially opening the door for another chance for Charles Leclerc is Oscar Piastri.
05:19Piastri unable to find a way through.
05:24Interesting information that Red Bull have heard that we have not heard.
05:28Which is Ardo Norris nursing a problem.
05:31And suddenly he's 13 seconds away from the race lead.
05:36Now Russell was three seconds quicker on the last lap.
05:40Norris lost no more time than he did the previous lap.
05:43So he may well get there.
05:44My information is that Lando Norris has been asked to lift and coast all the way to the flag.
05:49So they will be updating him on that gap.
05:51And it is being managed all the way to the checkered flag.
05:54So surely it's brakes again.
05:56Lift and coast is tire saving.
05:57It's brakes or it's fuel.
05:58There's been a safety car which will negate any fuel issues for them.
06:02So must be brake considerations that McLaren have.
06:05Well this is going to be an eighth consecutive podium finish for Max Verstappen who is still a contender for the title.
06:14You cannot count him out.
06:16Heading to Qatar still with a chance.
06:19This is the 17th and final corner of the last lap.
06:23The Dutch driver will look up and see the checkered flag first.
06:27Max Verstappen wins the Las Vegas Grand Prix.
06:30His name up in lights once again for second position.
06:35It's a wait.
06:36Red Bull have taken the win with Max Verstappen his sixth of the season.
06:41And lifting and coasting with a terrific position in the World Championship with two Grand Prix to go.
06:48Lando Norris hangs on.
06:50George Russell completes the podium.
06:52Kimi Antonelli with unbelievable speed.
06:56But a five second penalty.
06:58And it means as we go across the line it's Piastrian fourth.
07:02Antonelli is listed in P5 ahead of Charles Leclerc by one tenth of a second.
07:10There's always something different here in Las Vegas.
07:13But that's really different.
07:14Looking good in the Lego Cadillac that will take the top three.
07:18I imagine to the Bellagio Fountains.
07:21We now have two weeks left to decide the Formula One World Championship in 2025.
07:27And thanks to his win tonight, still three names in the mix.
07:31But advantage Lando Norris heading in to the final three races of the year.
07:36One sprint, two Grand Prix.
07:39And it's all coming your way in the next two weeks as we close out this 24 round campaign.
07:45But the third Las Vegas Grand Prix has been won by Max Verstappen.
07:49He's second at this venue.
