00:00But you look so hot running down that field with those flags flying from your belt.
00:04It was the flags you were supposed to grab, not me.
00:07Oh, like this?
00:14Wow, look at that.
00:16What is this?
00:19Did you do all of this?
00:20I did.
00:22Samantha, this is beautiful.
00:24I know June hasn't had a real home in years,
00:26and I just wanted to make sure it was a nice Thanksgiving for her.
00:30Aw, come on, V.
00:32How do you?
00:34Showers before hugs.
00:36Yeah, yeah, fair enough.
00:37Yeah.
00:42Parents.
00:48I'm so glad you suggested coming here for dinner.
00:52So many new takes on the traditional Thanksgiving menu.
00:55Yeah, well, I'm glad you were up for it.
00:57And this way, we can focus on one another.
00:59Instead of spending the whole day cooking and cleaning.
01:02Aw, how you spoil me, Bill.
01:04He's a fool.
01:05Today and forever.
01:08Mr. and Mrs. Dupree, happy Thanksgiving.
01:10And a wonderful Thanksgiving to you too, Eugene.
01:13Happy Thanksgiving.
01:14Allow me to escort you both to the table?
01:16Please.
01:16Why in the world would the Dupree's be here?
01:25Don't they have a chef at home who could whip up a feast for them?
01:28Yeah, but they always give Rowena Thanksgiving day off to be with our own family.
01:32You know, and coming here to the club is their tradition.
01:34What's the matter, love?
01:37I was just thinking we're such a smaller group this year.
01:40Yes.
01:42But for the best possible reasons, our grandchildren have all found love.
01:47Just one more thing to be thankful for.
01:49Last Thanksgiving, I wasn't fully divorced, so you and I couldn't spend it here.
01:55But now we can, and that's what counts.
01:58Bill, you knew that your ex and her family would be here, and you brought me here anyway?
02:04Why would you do that?
02:06And what are you thinking now?
02:09Well, I was thinking the things to be grateful for are piling up.
02:16Thankfully, Bill is our former son-in-law, and he is sitting way over there and not over here.
02:28Happy Thanksgiving, Isaiah.
02:29You're looking dapper.
02:31Have a seat.
02:34Happy Thanksgiving, Mr. and Mrs. Dupree.
02:35I appreciate the invite.
02:37Please, just call us Anita and Vernon.
02:42Honestly, Haley, I didn't realize it would be such an issue.
02:46We've been living behind these gates nearly a year now.
02:48We've managed to coexist.
02:51Okay.
02:52If you're uncomfortable, we can go somewhere else.
02:56It's fine.
02:57We're here now.
02:59Might as well stay.
03:16Bye-bye.
03:22Bye-bye.
03:23It smells incredible in here, like extra incredible.
03:47That is Orphe Jean's famous fried turkey.
03:50Your mouth is watering now.
03:52The taste buds are going to be dancing in here.
03:54I guarantee it's the best you've ever had.
03:56I don't think I've ever had fried turkey.
03:59Oh, well you're in for a treat.
04:02I'm stoked to be spending our first Thanksgiving together anyway.
04:06And I also get that this is a tough day for you, your first Thanksgiving without Nicole.
04:13Nicole, I'm sure you've met Jacob's brother Isaiah.
04:17Yes, we met way back.
04:19My kids told me that they ran into you.
04:22Yeah.
04:23It's good to have you back again.
04:25Oh, thank you.
04:27Will Martin and Kat be here?
04:28No.
04:29Martin is celebrating Thanksgiving at home with his family and Kat is out of town with her
04:34boyfriend.
04:35Yeah, Tomas.
04:36He helped me with my employment contract.
04:38Seems like a nice guy.
04:40Kat is fond of him.
04:42Will Vanessa be joining us?
04:44No.
04:45She told me to tell you thank you for thinking about her, but she did make other plans.
04:48Oh.
04:49Well, I'm glad she won't be alone her first Thanksgiving without Doug.
04:53Where are the twins?
04:54They didn't come home from Banneker?
04:55She went up there to have an early Thanksgiving with them, but she is back now.
04:59Well, I should have known not to worry about Vanessa's social calendar.
05:04She has so many clients and connections.
05:06I'm sure she was just swatting away all kinds of invitations.
05:12Hello?
05:13Well, your timing is impeccable.
05:22Dinner's almost ready, and this Riesling is perfectly chilled.
05:28When you invited me to eat with you at Uptown, I assumed we'd have a room full of company.
05:34Uptown is closed for the holiday.
05:38It just seemed like such a waste to have that big, beautiful kitchen go unused, so I spoke
05:45to the owner.
05:46A friend of yours?
05:47No doubt, and today we have the whole place to ourselves.
05:51Impressive.
05:52Well, you've been hinting that you wanted to sample my cooking, so today is your lucky day.
06:00Joey Armstrong, you are one man who never ceases to amaze me.
06:04That's the idea.
06:06I could have sworn I saw the slivered almonds in here.
06:16Oh, I put them in the cabinet.
06:17I had to sneak a few before you put them all in the green bean casserole.
06:21Oh, I see them.
06:23Yeah.
06:24I left the casserole for last, but I promise it'll be ready the same time the turkey's done.
06:30Oh!
06:31I miss cooking with you.
06:33It brings back so many memories.
06:34It does, doesn't it?
06:35Yeah.
06:36Now, we get to make new ones.
06:38Your first Thanksgiving hosting in your own place.
06:42Yeah.
06:44I'm excited about it.
06:45I am glad it is just the two of us in Monash will forgive me for any snafus.
06:49Well, I don't think there'll be any.
06:52Friendsgiving dinners you've had over the years.
06:55You've got more experience than you think.
06:57Thanks, Mom.
06:59Uh, Nicole, these are for your tree.
07:02The holidays are upon us, aren't they?
07:04Thank you, sweetheart.
07:06Isaiah.
07:07I'm so glad you could make it.
07:09It's great to see you.
07:11Bro, I'm glad you came.
07:13You look good, man.
07:14Oh, thank you, big bro.
07:15It's nice to have a place to hang today.
07:17Uh-huh.
07:18Excuse me, I'm gonna go check in with my dad real quick, okay?
07:23Happy Thanksgiving, Dad.
07:25Haley.
07:26Oh, hey, baby.
07:28You look especially radiant.
07:31Must be because I have so much to be thankful for.
07:33Well, as do I, starting with you and your sister.
07:37Since this is a day for it, I will say I am grateful for your improved health since you've been out of the hospital.
07:42Well, that's all Haley's doing.
07:45She keeps such a close eye on my diet.
07:47Only because I want you around for a long, long time, Bill.
07:51Well, Chelsea and I really do appreciate you looking out for him.
07:55Thank you for saying that, Naomi.
07:57I'd better get back.
07:59It seems like a much smaller gathering than usual.
08:02It is.
08:03You know, Chelsea's with Madison and her family, Kat is with Tomas, Martin's family's doing their own thing, and, of course, Mom and Andre are still in honeymoon mode.
08:11Yeah, well, I know they're back from L.A. I ran into your mom here yesterday.
08:15Yeah, they're back.
08:16They just wanted to keep to themselves today.
08:18Same as us when we were newlyweds.
08:20Well, we still are, sweetheart.
08:22We still are.
08:26I did not mean to sleep that long.
08:29Must be on L.A. time.
08:32Uh, wife, what are you doing?
08:34Isn't it obvious?
08:36It's Thanksgiving!
08:37I'm cooking!
08:38You know how?
08:50When are we eating?
08:51Um, the turkey has another hour, and the bourbon-glazed ham is 15 minutes.
08:58Okay, so we'll need, what, about an hour to eat or clean up?
09:03Are you literally counting down the minutes before you can ditch us and hang out with your girlfriend?
09:07Come on, Dad.
09:08This is the only way we get to see each other since her parents made her go to the holiday brunch.
09:13That'll be June.
09:16All right.
09:19Tyrell, this is your first Thanksgiving with your mom in a long time.
09:24And your last one we'll have together before you go off to college.
09:28So, try not to hurry and rush the moment, okay?
09:32Look, guys, June brought a sweet potato pie over from Orphe Jeans for dessert.
09:41How thoughtful.
09:42Thank you so much.
09:43I'll go put this in the kitchen.
09:46Hi, Tyrell.
09:48I pray everything is well.
09:50Yeah, everything's okay.
09:52Happy Thanksgiving.
09:54Oh, here.
09:56So, it's not the Thanksgiving either one of us is used to having, but let's make it a new kind of Thanksgiving.
10:07Tell me something about you I don't know.
10:10Like what?
10:11Like, I didn't know you were a basketball fan until you told me the other day.
10:16Did you grow up playing?
10:17No.
10:18My big dream was ice skating.
10:20No way.
10:21I loved the Olympics.
10:23Like, I would try to recreate all the jumps and spins in our living room.
10:27Mmm.
10:28One time I knocked over this table lamp and Alan got so mad.
10:32So, that was the end of that.
10:34But, mama took the hint.
10:36Then she got me to some classes at the local skating rink.
10:38Mmm.
10:39And, uh, I ate it up.
10:41Mmm.
10:42You know, I can actually picture that little Eva all bundled up on the ice.
10:46How far did you take it?
10:48Um, I dropped it after a while.
10:51Um, it gets to the point where it's all or nothing.
10:54Yeah.
10:55Probably pretty expensive too, huh?
10:58Dana probably didn't have the time or the money to support your interest in it.
11:01Yeah.
11:02Dad, it's fine.
11:04I was no Star Andrews on the ice.
11:07Sorry, Aunt Blake, you too.
11:10Everybody was going over the river and through the woods at the exact same moment.
11:17No worries.
11:18Traffic is a bear.
11:20Hmm.
11:21Eve and I were just catching up.
11:22Well, we were actually talking about things that we missed out on.
11:26Hmm.
11:27Like holiday celebrations as a family.
11:30Don't worry.
11:31We're making up for lost time now.
11:34We've gone over this a few times, Andre.
11:37After my career, I raised a family.
11:39I can cook.
11:40I know you can make an omelet.
11:43Ah!
11:44But doesn't your family go to the country club every year for Thanksgiving?
11:48I remember going when I was younger with my Uncle Ted and Aunt Nicole.
11:52Have you ever actually roasted a turkey?
11:55Or made a whole feast?
11:57Okay.
11:58This will be the first time, but I got very detailed instructions from Rowena.
12:02Mm-hmm.
12:03How hard can it be, really?
12:05I don't know, but hey, I'm all in to pitch in.
12:08Um, I can start by washing some dishes.
12:11Oh, honey.
12:12We don't wash dishes by hand.
12:13We use that shiny appliance over there.
12:18Oh, so the dishwasher is the dishwasher.
12:20Okay.
12:21My hubby's clever.
12:22Now what are we doing?
12:26I'm rinsing the bowl.
12:28We don't rinse either.
12:30My buddy Cascade handles all that mess.
12:34Okay.
12:37So I have time for more important tasks.
12:41Like this.
12:45Okay.
12:46All right.
12:47Let's try this.
12:49Thank you, Cascade.
13:05Wait, something's boiling.
13:06My blood when you kiss me like that?
13:08No.
13:09Something on the stove.
13:10Oh!
13:11Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh.
13:12Okay.
13:17That was a close one.
13:19No more distractions.
13:20Keep loading those dishes.
13:22Yes, ma'am.
13:23Yes, ma'am.
13:24Um, you know, I still remember when my granny got her first dishwasher.
13:30Huh.
13:31Yeah, she used the bottom rack to store her pots and pans.
13:34She used the top for drying her dishes that she'd already washed by hand.
13:39I actually snapped the black and white photo of her non-traditional dishwasher use.
13:43The one first place at the church for that year.
13:45So granny never ran the dishwasher?
13:47Uh, she came around eventually.
13:53Even taught me the proper way to load it.
13:56But for years she was convinced that nothing could wash her dishes like she could.
14:00Well, there is nothing like granny's love.
14:02But I can't imagine being stuck at a sink washing dishes all day.
14:05I use every shortcut at my disposal.
14:12Yeah.
14:13Okay.
14:14So...
14:15You can do it.
14:18All right.
14:19Place this here.
14:27There.
14:29Dishes done.
14:31Next.
14:32Next what?
14:33Give me something to do the end.
14:35To blanch or to praise.
14:37How do you know these words?
14:38How do you know these words?
14:39You hang around some of the best chefs in the world after fashion shows and you learn a few things.
14:44And because I can cook.
14:46Yes, you can.
14:48I mean, I can cook cook in the kitchen.
14:51Oh!
14:52Well, the more the merrier.
14:53The turkey's in the oven, but everything else is up for grabs.
14:56Okay.
14:57So what are my options?
14:58Well, I decided to keep the menu simple.
14:59So, uh, candy diams, cornbread, dressing, collard, sweet potato pie.
15:05Danny.
15:07And love.
15:10All right.
15:12For you, I have spatchcocked the turkey, prepared pommé du chaise, oyster stuffing, and a pumpkin brulee for dessert.
15:27Those aren't tears, are they?
15:31It's just been a while since anyone went to this much effort to make me happy.
15:37How long?
15:39I can't remember the last time.
15:42Well, that is a crime.
15:47You do realize the only reason I waited is because I knew you were still grieving, right?
15:53I never want to pressure you.
15:54I'm grateful you're in my life.
15:58And Thanksgiving seemed like the perfect excuse to pull out all the stops.
16:04But if it were up to me, every day would be a holiday.
16:09Give me a holiday.
16:19What's so funny?
16:21Um, Chelsea is spending Thanksgiving with her girlfriend's family.
16:25Madison and her mom have been estranged.
16:27But my ever-optimistic sister is pushing for them to make things work.
16:32A lot of parent-kid tips happening these days, huh?
16:36Anyway, turns out Madison's mom is vegan.
16:39They are eating cauliflower steak right now.
16:41That seems like a contradiction in terms.
16:45Mashed rutabaga with dairy-free cheese sauce and a kale and beet salad.
16:51The things we do for love.
16:54But you gotta give her credit. She's got the strength of her convictions.
16:58Agreed.
16:59I am very proud of our granddaughter for putting her taste buds where her mouth is or something like that.
17:06Well, there are a few vegan options on the menu today in case you want to stand in solidarity with Chelsea.
17:11Oh, well. Chelsea can live in her truth and I will live in mine.
17:15Now pass the butter.
17:17So, I thought I could get a few interior designers to come up with ideas and then choose the one whose designs really blow me away.
17:26I know a lot of people have used Quentin Tate, but maybe we want a woman's touch?
17:31So I'm thinking I could contact Keonda Powell and just...
17:39Bill.
17:41I don't know why you did this to yourself.
17:43And don't give me that look. You know exactly what I mean.
17:48We've discussed how much it bothers you that the Dupree's treat you like an outsider now.
17:52But what did you think would happen?
17:54That they'd invite you to pull up a chair to their table?
17:58I did not expect that.
18:00And I didn't want it. I was just, I don't know, distracted by all the commotion.
18:04Now, tell me more about Kiera Powell.
18:08Kionda Powell.
18:11Right. That's what I said.
18:14My famous collard and mustard greens.
18:23It really smells good.
18:25I'm so glad you could be here. I know how many invitations you get.
18:30That's right.
18:31It's my tradition. Here for Thanksgiving, but I make sure to go home for Christmas.
18:37Still, I wouldn't have gone to anyone else's for dinner.
18:41I like the way you two celebrate. No loud football games. Just quiet conversation.
18:48With good people and good food.
18:51And good tips for the best deals online.
18:54Oh, that's right. I brought my tablet.
18:56Okay, good.
18:57And my shopping list.
18:59So we can map out our Black Friday strategy.
19:01Mm-hmm.
19:02I have never understood how you could be so organized about Christmas shopping.
19:06I have to wander and pick what strikes me.
19:10Not this year, friend. I'll show you how.
19:11I keep a spreadsheet to keep track of all my Christmas gifts for friends and family, including gifts from previous years so I don't accidentally repeat myself.
19:22And this is the sweet tea that you told Mom you liked?
19:25You remember.
19:27Of course I did.
19:29And it's just the three of us today, right? You didn't invite Leslie, did you?
19:35I didn't. Although the thought did cross my mind. But I wouldn't have put you in that position.
19:41Well, damn. The chef put both feet and a hand up in this meat.
19:47You ain't never lied. Who knew that fried turkey could still be so juicy?
19:51Mm-hmm. They got a delicious-looking sweet potato pie, too. And a combo.
19:56Okay, I don't think I can even handle anything else right now.
20:01Me either.
20:03Well, if you change your mind, you can go along with me later to Martin's for dessert, huh?
20:07Really, Dad? Thanks for including me.
20:10Martin understands your public family now.
20:14So much can change in six months.
20:18Will Pat be there?
20:19I don't want to cause more tension between her and Martin.
20:23Uh, Kat, I went out of town with Phil Moss.
20:28Oh.
20:30I knew she didn't want to join us for today's meal, but leaving town altogether just so she wouldn't run into me?
20:36Well, I mean, things haven't changed that much in six months.
20:38But be thankful that you at least have a chance to spend time with your brother and your niece and your nephew without worrying about Kat doing a tantrum.
20:50Right.
20:51And can you please tell Martin thank you for the kindness? I really appreciate it. But I did have a prior, uh, commitment.
21:01Yeah. I'm going to the hospital to visit Peaches.
21:03Hmm.
21:04But maybe next time.
21:06Mm-hmm.
21:09Ha-ha!
21:11See?
21:12Perfectly peeled garlic.
21:14Impressive.
21:15So no more talk about how I don't know what I'm doing in the kitchen.
21:18Okay, I stand corrected.
21:20Mm-hmm.
21:22Fire extinguisher. Where's your fire extinguisher?
21:23Under the sink.
21:25Here, here, here.
21:26Okay.
21:28Oh, my God.
21:29I got it. I got it. Watch out. Watch out. Watch out.
21:33Watch my counters!
21:37The marble!
21:43So tell me about your visit with the kids. Are they okay?
21:47Deanna isn't ready to come home yet. Seems like she may never be.
21:51I even offered to sell the house if it would make things less painful, but...
21:54She didn't want me to do that either.
21:57Ooh.
21:58Daughters need their mothers.
22:00I'm sorry she's staying away.
22:03She's just so lost right now, and I have no idea what it'll take to make her feel better.
22:08She seems like the sensitive type, but I suspect that Donnell is looking after her.
22:15I'm actually surprised how much closer they've gotten. They used to bicker something serious as kids.
22:19It's a relief they've gotten past that. I'm just happy that she has her brother there with her.
22:28You're all still tender from what happened. You've learned how quickly life can change.
22:34We certainly have.
22:38I want to make you feel safe.
22:41Not too safe. I know you're like a little free zone of excitement to keep things interesting.
22:46You really know me, don't you?
22:49I like to think so.
22:51And you don't judge me for what or who I am?
22:57Not at all.
22:59How did I get so lucky?
23:01Luck is my business.
23:04Well, I have to check on the dinner.
23:06I'll help.
23:07No, you won't. You'll stay there.
23:10Today, you don't lift a finger.
23:12Isaiah, it's nice to see you again. Looks like you pulled it off.
23:22Pulled what off?
23:24Your transition from black sheep to respected member of society.
23:28You talking about me hanging with the Duprees?
23:30Sounds like a reality TV show.
23:32The fact is, I'm a guest. And that's only because of my brother Jacob.
23:36They're willing to give me the benefit of the doubt.
23:37I was in that position once. Family friend. Naomi's very best.
23:44Then you traded that friendship in for something you wanted more.
23:47What can I say? I'm a fool for love.
23:51You're hardly a fool.
23:53You got that right. I'll see you around.
23:56I didn't want to leave without wishing all of you a happy Thanksgiving.
24:07We have so much to be thankful for this year.
24:10We were all just agreeing how blessed we are that Chelsea came home safe and sound from that horrendous ordeal.
24:17Amen to that.
24:19And Jacob, I haven't forgotten about how much I owe you, Martin and Kat, for helping find my baby girl and bringing her home.
24:27None of us have forgotten.
24:29We pulled together as a family. The way it should be.
24:34Hey, we were just counting our blessings.
24:37As we should. I'm sure you must all be so happy for Danny.
24:43We certainly are. But please don't let us hold you from your own family celebration.
24:50Like I was saying, before it gets too late and Tyrell literally runs out of here, I want to take a moment to express some gratitude.
24:58Samantha, you want to go first and say something you're thankful for?
25:01Sure, Dad. I am grateful for that ham, the cheesy mac and cheese, the turkey, the green beans and...
25:11Really, Samantha?
25:13What I'm being for real. The food slaps.
25:15Okay, but okay. I am grateful that you guys are making sure that I don't grow up too fast.
25:23If you repeat that, I will deny it.
25:26Oh, that's sweet, Samantha. Tyrell, you want to go?
25:29Yeah, beat that, bro.
25:33I'm grateful for Jessica. We didn't meet under the best circumstances, but we've gone to real place. I think I might be falling in love with her.
25:42Wow. Love. Really.
25:45I am grateful for a healthy family and going back to work. It feels amazing to do what I love again.
25:54And I love that for you too, babe.
25:55I am so grateful for all of you at this table.
26:01I am happy to be back home, to be present, to see you grow and become.
26:09And it's priceless.
26:10And I love you all very, very much.
26:16Oh, June, you don't have to say anything if you don't want.
26:20Are you kidding me?
26:21This is all I ever wanted, is to see my children being loved and cared for in this way.
26:32Thank you for allowing me to be a part of it.
26:36This is more than I ever could have imagined.
26:39Thank you, thank all of you. And thank you, baby, for sitting me in between the two of you.
26:48No, no, no, no, no, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait.
27:02Gosh.
27:04I got it.
27:06Okay.
27:08You know what? I am totally in the mood for Chinese food.
27:11Anyway, babe, you don't have to try to impress me.
27:15This isn't about dazzling you with my culinary prowess.
27:20It's about making a special day for you.
27:23You don't say it much, but I know you miss your parents and your family traditions.
27:30Danny, it's been a long time since-
27:31No, wait.
27:34I know I drew a line in the sand about you spending the day with your Uncle Ted.
27:37I took something important away.
27:41This piece of home of extended family that you still have.
27:45And I just wanted to do something that would make up for that.
27:49I just want this place to feel like home too.
27:55Look, I don't mind Seared.
27:58Let's just see, is it still tender on the inside?
28:05Careful.
28:06Okay.
28:07Here.
28:08Let's see.
28:27You know, Eva, your new friend Isaiah is friendly with your brother Mark.
28:33Really?
28:34Yeah, I saw them chatting at Uptown the other day.
28:39So Martin probably won't mind if you invite Isaiah for dessert too.
28:45Hmm?
28:46That's a good idea.
28:47I don't think Martin would mind.
28:49Um, actually Isaiah is with family today.
28:52Oh, I'm glad to hear that.
28:54Got into quite a rift between Isaiah and Elah and they got in a hell of a fight at Jacob and Naomi's wedding.
28:59I'm glad they put that behind him.
29:02And Jacob and Naomi know Isaiah?
29:07I don't know why I assumed you knew that.
29:10Oh, that's funny how that has never come up in any of our conversations about him.
29:17Uh, excuse me, you two. I need to get a pie before they are sold out. I cannot show up to Martin's in the end.
29:24Okay, I didn't tell you who he's related to because I didn't want you judging him.
29:36Yeah.
29:37Like how his family is anyway.
29:40No, you mean like him being from a family of cops, including an older brother who is determined to throw me under the jail.
29:49And not to mention a father who just happens to be the chief of police.
29:53Okay, but he's nothing like them, just like Dad said.
29:59Don't fret, little girl.
30:01I don't have a problem with Isaiah coming from a family of cops.
30:05I mean, it could even work in our advantage.
30:09Connections with a police force.
30:14Now see, that could come in very handy.
30:16You spent the entire morning prepping and cooking this meal and I gobbled it up in minutes.
30:25Well, that's quite the compliment.
30:27I couldn't help myself. It was exquisite. In presentation and in taste.
30:32Joey, you are a wonder.
30:35Well, thank you. And no apologies necessary. I did this for you to enjoy. I'm just glad you did.
30:42Have you ever thought about opening a restaurant?
30:49Why are you laughing? I'm being serious.
30:52I know you're being serious. That's why I'm laughing.
30:55You see everything as an investment opportunity.
30:58I honestly think you could make a fortune.
31:00Yeah, I could lose one too.
31:02That is an incredibly volatile business.
31:05It takes a monumental investment up front and then an incredible amount of time.
31:10You're lucky just to break even.
31:13Didn't you just say luck is your business?
31:15I'll keep my luck and my shirt. Thank you very much.
31:19Sounds like someone needs to remember how much fun losing their shirt can be.
31:25Shall we?
31:39Wait, but I always like to hear Vernon's toast.
31:44Oh, you've got to be kidding me.
31:45I'm going to start by addressing you, Isaiah, because you are the newest member of the fold to join us at this table on this special day.
31:58Welcome.
31:59Anita and I take time every day to practice gratitude.
32:06There's a Bible verse that we return to again and again, which says,
32:13Rejoice always.
32:15Pray without ceasing.
32:18Give thanks in all circumstances.
32:21I admit that can be a little confusing.
32:25How are you supposed to give thanks in all circumstances?
32:30What about the terrible ones?
32:33But I am here to attest that my many years on this earth have taught me the sacred power of gratitude.
32:42And even if you live through crushing disappointments, you can be grateful for the love of those who lift you up.
32:59Someone who has felt the agony of a broken heart can be thankful that they still have the capacity to laugh and find joy in the small pleasures in life.
33:10People who have suffered terrible losses can be comforted and feel the hope that their hearts will heal and that they can love again.
33:24Those of us who have known isolation and loneliness, estrangement or alienation can feel gratitude for the lessons it teaches us.
33:35Compassion and the willingness to reach out to others who have been marginalized.
33:46Someone who has failed, maybe over and over again, can find the strength to pick themselves up, to persevere and to chart a new path.
33:57Those of us who are ashamed of our mistakes can realize it's never too late to ask for forgiveness and be redeemed.
34:10That's something to be thankful for.
34:12Amen to forgiveness and redemption.
34:13And then there are days when it's easy to be thankful and thank God this is one of them.
34:25This family is overflowing with love and blessings.
34:28Let us pray that we not only appreciate that, but we do whatever we can to share those blessings with those people who need them most.
34:41Happy Thanksgiving family.
34:43Happy Thanksgiving.
34:44Happy Thanksgiving.
34:45Happy Thanksgiving.
34:46Happy Thanksgiving.
34:47Happy Thanksgiving.
34:48Happy Thanksgiving.
34:49Happy Thanksgiving.
34:53Happy Thanksgiving.

34:57A call that number you gave us?
34:58So you're seeking customers at the country club?
