00:00All right, the holidays are here officially, and of course with that comes a lot of appearances
00:04from the royals, which we love. We've already seen Kate Middleton and Prince William out and
00:09about. Charlie, this was a gorgeous, stunning appearance for them. Oh, I mean, I feel like
00:14when it comes to Kate Middleton, every appearance is gorgeous and stunning. When you have a head of
00:20hair so thick and voluptuous, how could it not be? But no, this really was a milestone moment
00:27for Kate William, who appeared at the 2025 Royal Variety Performance, which took place
00:34at the Royal Albert Hall in London. They made a glittering red carpet appearance. They sure did.
00:42Kate looked incredible. She was wearing a kind of green velvet off the shoulder dress. William
00:48obviously looked very dapper in a tuxedo, and they got to meet a host of celebrities, performers,
00:55performers, and even Mr. Paddington Bear himself. The animatronic Paddington Bear. He's making
01:02his rounds. Out of everyone they met, that is who I am the most jealous of. You know, Paddington
01:07Bear is an icon. An icon, and he's been all over my For You page. Everyone wants to meet
01:12him. Yes. He is the number one A-lister right now. But this was a particularly important event
01:19for William and especially Kate because it marked the first Royal Variety Performance that she has
01:25attended since she was diagnosed with cancer. Kate and William have not attended this event
01:30together since November 2023. Obviously, in 2024, Kate announced that she was undergoing treatment
01:38for cancer. She took a very big step back from a lot of official engagements. We didn't see her for
01:45several months as she took the time that she needed to heal, to go through everything that she was
01:50going through, and to just spend time recuperating behind closed doors. So Christmas 2024 was a very,
01:57very different occasion to what I expect we are going to see this year. I think, judging by how
02:06brilliant Kate looked at this event, I think we can expect to see a lot more of both her and William
02:12together as a couple. And oh boy, did they look all lovey-dovey. They did. They looked like they
02:18were just giving love glares to each other. They looked happy to be there. Yeah, they were making
02:23eyes. But they were like hating each other and loving each other at the same time. Oh, glances?
02:28Yes, I guess. Stealing glances. Stolen glances. The look of love. The look of love. Honestly, anyone
02:34would think it was Valentine's Day, not Thanksgiving. Now, for those of you wondering, Thanksgiving,
02:41not really a thing in the UK. Right, true. Good point. But the end of November does mark a very
02:48significant ramping up towards Christmas Day and what we call Boxing Day in the UK. And events happen
02:56pretty much every day. So there is going to be ample opportunity for us to see William and Kate
03:01together, looking all lovey-dovey. And hopefully, when the schools go on holiday for the festive season
03:09in the UK, we will also get a chance to see the children. Kate did mention to poor old Paddington
03:15that George, Charlotte, and Louis would have been devastated to have missed the Royal Variety
03:21performance because they too, like everyone, wanted to meet Mr. Bear. Yes, exactly. Needless to say,
03:29though, plenty of festive fun to come. And then, of course, on Christmas Day itself, we may well see
03:35William, Kate, the children attending the annual church service with other members of the Royal family.
03:42But it is going to be interesting because this has been a very tumultuous year for the Royal
03:47family. You know, Prince Andrew finally gave up all of his Royal titles. I called him Prince Andrew,
03:54my mistake. Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor officially gave up all of his Royal titles. He is effectively a
04:01persona non grata as far as the public-facing Royal family is concerned. So I think a lot of eyes
04:08are going to be on the church that the Royal family normally attends to see whether Andrew will even
04:15be there. Which I feel like is going to create a lock-in that Kate will be there. But people really
04:23look to her as this holiday icon, even over here in America. So I think it's going to be all eyes on
04:29the family. And I'm sure they will be like, Kate, please, can you come help us?
04:34Come on, go smile, go smile.
04:36Wear plaid. Come on, come on, come on. We want to see the holiday festivities.
04:39But she just is always an icon. So hopefully we see her and hopefully we don't see Andrew.
04:47I mean, fingers crossed. It's going to be uncomfortable because, you know,
04:50Andrew is kind of now living where the family normally gathers to celebrate Christmas. So
04:57it's unavoidable, I think, that he's going to be involved in the private Christmas festivities.
05:02But imagine the awkwardness involved in that situation. We'll reconvene after Christmas.
05:08We will reconvene.
05:09We can discuss all of the guns off.
05:10Until then, we'll have to just keep watching everything that the Royal family does because
05:14they're going to bring the holiday cheer for us.
05:16They are indeed.
05:16Even if we're looking at some of the other stuff they have going on. And I loved Kate's dress.
05:21Oh, she looks stunning.
05:22At the original event that we were talking about because it was this like Christmassy green.
05:27It was as if she was saying, hey, it's my time.
05:30She was like, deck those holes, deck those holes, get the jingle bells out.
05:34She's her own version of Mariah Carey.
05:35Yeah.
05:36Like, all right, this is my time. My season is here. I'm going to come out.
05:39I feel like festive Kate is a Barbie doll and she too defrosts, just like Mariah Carey and Michael BublĂŠ.
05:45Yes, it's their time to shine.
05:46It really is.
05:47She does also do that annual church choir concert, right?
05:51The carol concert.
05:51Yes.
05:52So just American, the annual church choir concert, the carol concert.
05:55The carol concert.
05:56She does host a charity carol concert every year.
06:00Honestly, if you ever have the opportunity to go to the UK at Christmas time,
06:04make sure that a carol service is on your list of things to do because they are just spectacular,
06:10particularly the kind that Kate is known for throwing.
06:14Absolutely amazing.
06:16Carols are the best.
06:18So festive.
06:20But yes, Christmas really is a season for the royal family to shine, you know?
06:27And it's going to be difficult this year as they navigate everything that's been going on.
06:32But I think that it is also a chance for them to put on a united front.
06:36You know, I think we might even see Princess Beatrice, Princess Eugenie joining the royal family
06:43at the church service on Christmas Day just to show that while Andrew has been understandably sidelined,
06:51the rest of the royal family remain a very strong unit.
06:54The family is still tight in it.
06:55Yeah, exactly.
06:56But who knows?
06:57Well, my eyes will be on Kate, what she's wearing, the kids.
07:01Paddington Bear.
07:03Paddington Bear, if he's going to attend.
07:05Maybe they invited him the other night when they were with him.
07:08We can only hope.
07:08And hopefully some faces from Louie because we absolutely cannot miss a season without.
07:14He was so funny in the pictures just from last season of like anything he went to.
07:18I mean, he's the most, he has the most expressive face.
07:21You can tell from a mile off when he's not having fun.
07:24You can tell from a mile off when he is having fun.
07:27And genuinely, I think what I would love to see even more is live footage from inside
07:32the Christmas Day church service, just of Louie.
07:35Of course.
07:35Just live footage of Louie.
07:36Last year, wasn't it like, or two years ago or something, he was like holding the
07:39candle and like trying to blow it out or whatnot.
07:42No, he's an adorable kid.
07:44He really is.
07:45But, you know, I think also this Christmas is a really great opportunity for William and
07:50Kate to settle into their new home.
07:53They were doing some renovations to this very impressive property in Windsor Great Park.
07:59And, you know, everyone is kind of saying that this is a fresh chapter for them, that
08:05they've kind of moved on from their former home into this new property so that they really
08:10can move past all of the horrible things that they've been through over the last 18 months
08:16to two years, including Kate's cancer diagnosis and treatment.
08:20And I think that the idea of them spending Christmas in their new home with their kids, with Kate
08:27having a clean bill of health, I think that's probably the best Christmas present that any
08:32of them could ask for.
08:33I mean, any of us, anyone that has gone through something like that.
08:36I know Kate was at the event last week and she was hugging Jessie J.
08:39I'm sure they fonded over their cancer treatments they've both had to go through.
08:43So it is a special time of year for them.
08:46And even just being someone that's watching them from the outside looking in, it seems
08:50like it's going to be a really monumental moment for them to be able to come together
08:54as a family.
08:54You make it sound like we're going to be out the windows from the outside watching in.
08:58Don't mind us.
08:59Well, we're like, there's Andrew.
09:01Look over there.
09:02Look, look, look.
09:03Like, Charlie, come to this window.
09:04Yeah, that'll be us.
09:05They'll kick us off the property before we get anywhere near them, though.
09:07So unfortunately, we'll have to watch the interwebs and see what those people get for
09:13us.
09:14And I guess in the meantime, all that's left is for us to cross our fingers that we
09:18get some good royal festive action and to wish all of you a very happy Thanksgiving.
09:24Yeah, happy Thanksgiving.
09:24Even though we don't have it in the UK, I still love any excuse to chow down on a big
09:29meal.
09:29Absolutely, as you should.
09:30And then we all move in to the holiday season.
09:33So yay, Merry Thanksgiving.
09:35And everybody can check out all of our holiday royals coverage right here at page6.com.
