00:00Stranger fan things aren't just hyped for season 5, they're in full conspiracy mode.
00:04Between teaser drops, cast interviews, and one cryptic Netflix tweet,
00:08the internet has turned into Hawkins' unofficial FBI division.
00:11So here are the top 5 theories currently living rent-free in the fandom's collective brain.
00:16The first is like a Will Byers theory multiverse, where one character somehow has 4,000 identities.
00:23The biggest branch? The legendary Will and Eleven are twins theory,
00:26a fandom staple that literally refuses to die.
00:30So fans think Will and Eleven were separated at birth,
00:32with Eleven taken to Hawkins' lab and Will raised by Joyce.
00:36And the evidence is pretty extensive.
00:39First, they both have nearly identical stuffed tiger toys.
00:42Will's is in Castle Byers, while Eleven's is at the lab.
00:46Plus there's this connection to the Upside Down,
00:48where Eleven could always sense Will's location in season 1,
00:51and fans say that's a twin-bond psychic thing.
00:54And when fans reject the twin theory, they go even harder.
00:57There is the theory that Will is actually Henry Creel's biological son,
01:01one that states he has hidden powers that never fully awakened.
01:04My favorite has to be Will must sacrifice himself, Harry Potter style, to defeat Vecna.
01:09Basically, Will is the final Horcrux, the chosen one, the secret child, the psychic, or the sleeper villain.
01:15And no character has more chaotic fan lore than him.
01:18But there is the Ted Wheeler is a secret super soldier that has to be one of the funniest and weirdest corners of the Stranger Things fandom.
01:26Fans have spun a full-blown conspiracy theory around the perpetually napping suburban dad.
01:31It suggests that Ted is secretly an undercover government agent or action hero veteran.
01:36Other variations of this theory claim that he served in the Vietnam War with Hopper,
01:40suffering nerve damage that explains his naps,
01:42but he could spring into Rambo-style action whenever needed.
01:46Other fans suggest Ted is a government plant,
01:48keeping tabs on his family while plausibly staying out of the loop or even working for a rival agency.
01:54And the clue?
01:55Ted once tells Mike that the lab is involved in Cold War weapons,
01:59a detail no other parent seems to know.
02:01So fans point to this as evidence he has insider information.
02:04And then there's Mr. Clark, yes, the science teacher.
02:07A surprising popular fan theory suggests that the seemingly mild manner Mr. Clark
02:11is secretly orchestrating events in Hawkins.
02:14And fans think this because Clark is basically the kids walking Wikipedia for everything supernatural.
02:21And some Reddit users even speculate he might be Thesla Hydra,
02:24possessed by the mind flayer or secretly manipulating Hawkins from the shadows.
02:28Of course, many fans hope that the final season gives Clark a bigger role
02:32and his intelligence and calm demeanor could make him either a key strategic ally for the main group
02:37or a sneaky intellectual villain who's been guiding events all along.
02:41And then there's the Max Mayfield is just Vecna's puppet theory.
02:46And this one is dark.
02:47The theory goes Max's mind is trapped somewhere deep
02:50and her body could be controlled by Vecna.
02:52And if she wakes up, it's not actually her.
02:53Now, this theory basis is fueled by the fact that Max's physical body is in a coma,
02:58but she is still conscious in some capacity,
03:01as demonstrated by Visions from the Upside Down.
03:03Plus, there's the puppet connection inspired by Eddie Munson's song Master of Puppets.
03:08Vecna is essentially manipulating Max as if she were a marionette.
03:12And if true, Max could become an unlikely ally,
03:15offering insights into Vecna's mind or acting as a critical link for the Upside Down.
03:19Which brings us to the final theory.
03:21The Upside Down is a broken timeline frozen on November 6th, 1983.
03:27It's a multiverse of theories that claim that the Upside Down is a corrupted timeline,
03:31a past version of Earth stuck on the day will vanish,
03:34a memory world,
03:35a failed timeline trying to overwrite the current one,
03:38or a cosmic loop that resets when season 5 ends.
03:42And why it's frozen on November 6th is because the prevailing theory
03:45is that Eleven's first contact with the Demogorgon
03:48and the subsequent opening of the Mother Gate
03:51created a snapshot of Hawkins in that exact moment.
03:54This temporal anomaly has become a key plot for fans speculating about the final season.
03:59Season 5 kicks off November 26th,
04:01so drop your fan theory and follow us everywhere at What's Trending.
