00:00Lil Nas X is being called out by everyone for several different reasons after proving once again he's a marketing genius.
00:12What's up guys, it's Nick Gonzalez for Hollywood Life with your music roundup.
00:15Now before we begin today's video I need you to hit the sub, like and bell button down below for all the latest on your favorite celebs.
00:21But alright, so this old town road that's leading straight to hell according to some fans, but you know of course mostly haters.
00:28The music artist proved once again he's a marketing genius with his new music video, Montero, Call Me By Your Name,
00:33because in it he's seen giving someone dressed as Satan a lap dance before killing them.
00:37Now there's also a part in the video where it looks like Lil Nas X is denied entry into heaven, but of course nobody wants to talk about that.
00:43Lil Nas X did mince words after seeing the backlash and actually clapped back on most of the people coming after him.
00:48Now this might be my favorite one, showed my 3 month old niece the Call Me By Your Name video and she said,
00:53Uncle, that was quite the stupendous visual. Why in heavens would any individual be enraged over such a sensational showpiece?
00:59Now someone needs to tell me this, how does he not have his own TV show?
01:03But alright, Lil Nas X actually did get serious at one point when he tweeted the following,
01:07I spent my entire teenage years hating myself because of the ish y'all preached what happened to me because I was gay.
01:12So I hope you are mad, stay mad, feel the same anger you teach us to have towards ourselves.
01:17Now at one point a lot of celebs actually reacted to the video and tweeted about it,
01:21and even compared it to Old Town Road and how it's so different from that.
01:24Nas actually replied to the Old Town Road comparisons by reminding everyone that he was actually talking about drinking lean and adultery in that song.
01:31And of course he reminded everyone raising other kids is not his job.
01:35Now the video is not the only thing that ticked people off,
01:37because he actually announced his own sneaker collab with Mischief titled The Satan Shoe.
01:41Nas revealed there's only 666 copies of the shoe and they apparently sold out in under a minute.
01:46And while the shoe features a flipped Nike symbol, the shoe company denies involvement and does not endorse it.
01:52But alright, let's talk about some criticism that actually seems legit compared to everything else.
01:55Nas X was sort of called out by the director of FKA Twigs' cell of fame.
02:00The music video director Andrew Thomas Wang reveals Nas X's label reached out to him to work on his idea for the video and he decided not to do it.
02:08So Nas X's team allegedly reached out to the choreographer from the cell of fame video to work on the pole scene instead.
02:14However, Andrew doesn't appear to be enraged or even mad.
02:17He seems more disappointed to see a years long project he had worked on with many others basically get repurposed despite his objections.
02:24Now I really want to know your thoughts on this part of the story, so let me know down in the comments below.
