00:00A'azhu Billahi Minash Shaitan Ar-Rajeeem
00:26Bismillah Ar-Rahman Ar-Raheem
00:27Alhamdulillahi Rabbil Alameen
00:29Allahumma Salli Ala Sayyidina Muhammad
00:31Mubarak Wasallam
00:33Welcome back to another episode
00:35on Seerah, Science, and Leadership.
00:39We're recognizing in our conversations
00:42that while the human being is a complex creature,
00:45there are various aspects of us
00:46that if understood,
00:49if we become aware of them,
00:50they will allow us to tap into a higher state,
00:54a higher version of ourselves.
00:56That's demonstrated time and time again
00:59in the Seerah of our beloved Prophet Muhammad
01:01Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam.
01:03Sheikh Bilal Aysen, Dr. Nilo Simouni,
01:06welcome back.
01:07In our last episode, Sheikh Bilal,
01:09you spoke about the condition of the heart.
01:12And of course, in your various lectures,
01:13you speak about the ability of the heart
01:16to either be ready to receive
01:18noor, light,
01:20or in some cases,
01:22when the heart is corrupt
01:23or the heart is not ready,
01:26then the noor cannot come.
01:27No transformation can take place.
01:29Speak to us, Sheikh Bilal,
01:31about the importance of noor
01:33and transformation in our heart.
01:36We were...
01:36Thank you, Umar.
01:37Thank you for inviting us once again
01:40into your very informative series
01:43about leadership.
01:46We were talking in the last episode
01:48about the importance of heart
01:51in a believer's
01:52or any person's
01:54day-to-day life.
01:57While science tells us
01:59that physically heart
02:00plays a very important role
02:02in pumping the blood,
02:04it does far more than that.
02:07The heart also
02:08has an impact
02:10on how we
02:13manage our emotions,
02:15how we set our vision,
02:18how we take care of our body.
02:23A sound heart
02:24is a sound body.
02:26A corrupt heart
02:27is a corrupt body.
02:29A sound heart
02:30is a sound
02:31mindset.
02:33A corrupt heart
02:34is a corrupt mindset.
02:36And a heart
02:36without
02:37its purity
02:39lacks vision
02:40and a sound
02:42with purity
02:42knows where it needs to go,
02:45the end goal.
02:46That's the role
02:47that the heart plays.
02:48Heart
02:49plays a significant role
02:50because heart
02:52is the place
02:53where the noor
02:53of Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala
02:54comes.
02:56Our body
02:57receives the noor
02:59and the body,
03:01the place
03:02where the noor
03:02comes
03:03is our heart.
03:05This noor
03:06is what purifies us,
03:08which cleans us,
03:10which gives us
03:11the clarity
03:12to manage
03:13our emotions,
03:14our thoughts.
03:15And this noor
03:16is what gives us
03:18contentment
03:20and satisfaction.
03:21A lot of people
03:23that are stressed,
03:26that are emotionally
03:27upset,
03:27that are depressed,
03:29the Quranic treatment
03:32for them
03:32is that
03:34they should
03:34attain
03:35the contentment
03:37of the heart.
03:39And how so?
03:40It's through
03:41the noor
03:41that comes.
03:42What brings
03:43the noor
03:44to the heart?
03:44Well,
03:45when we
03:46believe,
03:47our iman
03:48brings noor.
03:49When we
03:50do zikr
03:51of Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala,
03:52that brings noor.
03:53When we do wudu,
03:54that brings noor.
03:56When we do
03:56salatu salam
03:57on Rasulullah
03:58sallallahu alayhi wa sallam,
03:58that brings noor.
04:00When we do
04:00good deeds,
04:01that has its own noor.
04:03Right?
04:04When we pray
04:05salah,
04:05when we walk
04:06towards the masjid
04:07in the hours
04:08of darkness,
04:09fajr, maghrib,
04:10isha,
04:10every step
04:11brings noor.
04:14Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala
04:14says that
04:15know that
04:16the contentment
04:18of heart,
04:19the ease of heart
04:20is in the zikr.
04:21Alaa bi zikr
04:21Allahi tatma'inu
04:22al-kulu.
04:24Through
04:24the zikr of Allah
04:26you achieve
04:26the contentment
04:27of heart,
04:28the replicement
04:28of heart.
04:30So this
04:31heart
04:32is not just
04:33something
04:35that
04:36effectively
04:38pumps the blood,
04:39but in the
04:40leadership
04:41as the science
04:41is already
04:42established,
04:43it plays a
04:43role.
04:44One more thing
04:45that it does,
04:46Umar,
04:47is that it
04:47brings foresight.
04:50Once this
04:50noor starts
04:51coming in
04:52in the
04:52container,
04:53the more
04:53your container,
04:55this heart
04:55acts as a
04:56container,
04:57more noor
04:59in this
04:59container,
05:00the more
05:01benefits.
05:01One of the
05:02benefits is
05:03that it
05:03brings foresight.
05:05One of the
05:05teachings of
05:06Rasulullah
05:06is that
05:07be mindful
05:09be mindful,
05:10be fearful
05:10of the
05:12foresight
05:12of a
05:13moment
05:13because he
05:14sees
05:15through the
05:16noor
05:16given to
05:17him by
05:17Allah.
05:19Sees from
05:19the heart.
05:20Sees from
05:21the heart.
05:21And what's
05:22in the
05:22heart
05:22is the
05:24noor
05:24that has
05:24been given
05:25to him
05:25by Allah.
05:26Be
05:26fearful
05:27from
05:28the
05:28moment
05:29because he
05:30sees
05:30from the
05:31foresight
05:31that has
05:32been given
05:32to him
05:33by Allah.
05:33The
05:34noor
05:34that has
05:34been
05:34given
05:35to
05:35by
05:35Allah.
05:35Dr.
05:36Denilu,
05:37we know
05:37that the
05:38heart set,
05:39that emotional
05:39intelligence,
05:40the two
05:40levels of
05:41emotional
05:41intelligence
05:42you've
05:42explained,
05:43they're
05:43emerging
05:44into the
05:44world of
05:45leadership.
05:46That no
05:46longer is
05:47it just
05:47enough to
05:48operate with
05:49good skills
05:50or have
05:51the right
05:52strategy,
05:53but the
05:53ability to
05:54transform people
05:55through this
05:56heart set.
05:57Tell us a
05:58little bit
05:58more about
05:58the link
05:59between the
06:00heart and
06:00what science
06:01now tells
06:02us and
06:02leadership.
06:03I think
06:04a good
06:04example
06:05is what
06:08research from
06:10McKinsey
06:10almost like
06:1213 years
06:13ago now
06:14demonstrated
06:16about flow
06:16state.
06:18I don't
06:18know how
06:18familiar you
06:19are with
06:19the concept
06:20of flow
06:20state,
06:21but basically
06:21flow state
06:22is that
06:23physiological,
06:25psychological,
06:26emotional state
06:27that allow
06:27us to
06:28just live
06:31at our
06:31best and
06:32express our
06:33best qualities,
06:34our best
06:34potential.
06:35So for
06:35example,
06:35an athlete
06:36playing in
06:38a flow
06:38state will
06:39have this
06:40wonderful
06:41performance.
06:42And actually
06:43athletes are
06:43working to
06:45get into
06:46a flow
06:46state before
06:47a match
06:47before
06:48competition.
06:49And
06:49musicians in
06:51a flow
06:51state,
06:51what a
06:52Jets music
06:53player would
06:54call the
06:55zone,
06:56they actually
06:56look for
06:57the flow
06:58state because
06:59it really
06:59allows you
07:00to do
07:00things without
07:01even
07:02thinking of
07:03them.
07:03Because that
07:04comes in
07:05an effortless
07:06way,
07:06that comes
07:07just naturally.
07:08So this
07:11research from
07:11McKinsey
07:12demonstrated that
07:13managers that
07:14were working
07:15into a flow
07:17state,
07:17they were five
07:19times more
07:20productive.
07:20So the same
07:22manager in a flow
07:22state was five
07:23times more
07:25productive than
07:26when they
07:28weren't
07:29into a flow
07:30state.
07:31So that's
07:32quite interesting
07:32for a consulting
07:33firm.
07:35Of course
07:36looking for
07:37productivity.
07:38So more
07:39research is
07:40being done
07:40on flow
07:41state.
07:41And what
07:43is the
07:43neurophysiology
07:45of a flow
07:46state?
07:46What is
07:47behind
07:47a flow
07:48state?
07:48So flow
07:49state, in
07:49order to
07:50happen,
07:50we need
07:52first of
07:53all,
07:55a balanced
07:56body.
07:57What do
07:57I mean
07:58with balanced
07:59body?
07:59A body
08:00where the
08:01relaxation
08:02and the
08:03activation
08:03is well
08:04balanced.
08:05So we
08:07have these
08:08two different
08:09aspects of
08:10our autonomous
08:12nervous system,
08:13the sympathetic
08:13system and
08:14the parasympathetic
08:15system.
08:16Sympathetic
08:17system is
08:18what
08:20get activated
08:21when we
08:22need to
08:22do things.
08:23So activation
08:24is related
08:24to the
08:25sympathetic
08:25system.
08:26Parasympathetic
08:27system is
08:27for recovery.
08:28So if
08:29sympathetic
08:30and parasympathetic
08:31are not
08:31well balanced,
08:32flow state
08:33cannot happen.
08:34So that
08:34is a very
08:35important thing.
08:36So people
08:36always doing
08:38things in
08:39effort will
08:40never get
08:40into a
08:41flow state.
08:41That's the
08:42first important
08:42lesson.
08:43So first
08:44thing, this
08:45balance in
08:45the body.
08:46Activation
08:47and relaxation.
08:49Second
08:49thing,
08:50if you
08:52have too
08:53many
08:53thoughts
08:53in your
08:54mind,
08:55you're not
08:56going to
08:56get into
08:57a flow
08:57state.
08:58Because
08:59flow state
09:00is related
09:01to specific
09:02brain waves
09:03in the
09:03new
09:03cortex.
09:06Technically,
09:07you should
09:08be into
09:08what is
09:10called
09:10an alpha
09:11state.
09:13So the
09:13brain waves
09:14is not
09:16too
09:16intense.
09:18so for
09:19example,
09:19during the
09:22day,
09:22we usually
09:23spend our
09:24day,
09:25our
09:25working
09:25day
09:25into
09:26better
09:26state.
09:27It's too
09:27much.
09:27So we
09:28need much
09:28more
09:28relaxation
09:29in order
09:29to get
09:30into
09:30the
09:31flow state.
09:33Third thing,
09:34when we
09:35enter
09:35flow state,
09:37some
09:37specific
09:38chemistry,
09:39neurotransmitters
09:41and hormones
09:42are produced.
09:43And I'll come back
09:44to that later
09:45because it's very
09:45interesting.
09:46It's a good
09:47link
09:48between the
09:50heart and
09:51spiritual level
09:52because these
09:53chemicals
09:54seem
09:54it's related
09:55to allow
09:57access to
09:59some specific
09:59spiritual levels.
10:01But the
10:02most important
10:02thing is
10:04the role
10:05of the
10:06heart rate
10:07variability.
10:07What is the
10:08heart rate
10:08variability?
10:09Of course,
10:11we have
10:11heartbeat.
10:12But heartbeat
10:12defines the
10:13number of
10:14beats
10:15in a minute.
10:17Those beats
10:17are not
10:18the same.
10:19They
10:20changes
10:21very,
10:22very
10:22small,
10:23very subtle.
10:26But it
10:27defines
10:28how flexible
10:29is our
10:30system,
10:31our
10:32biological
10:32system,
10:33to accept
10:33any
10:34micro
10:35change,
10:37I would say
10:37nano change
10:38happening
10:39within
10:40and outside
10:41the body.
10:42So the
10:42highest the
10:43level of
10:43heart rate
10:44variability,
10:45the highest
10:45the flexibility.
10:47And
10:48flow state
10:48cannot happen
10:50if
10:50heart rate
10:51variability
10:52doesn't reach
10:53a certain
10:54level.
10:54So now,
10:56what is
10:56that allow
10:57heart rate
10:59variability
10:59to increase
11:01its level
11:02is the
11:03emotional
11:04state.
11:05So
11:05depending
11:06of the
11:07emotional
11:08state
11:08we're in,
11:09we are
11:10able to
11:11have access
11:12to such
11:12an optate
11:13state
11:13or not.
11:14So the
11:15way we
11:16are processing
11:16the
11:17emotions
11:18will determine
11:20our state
11:21and the
11:23curve
11:23that is
11:24generated
11:25by
11:26an emotional
11:28state
11:28that is
11:30informed
11:31with
11:32love,
11:34with
11:34forgiveness,
11:36with
11:37appreciation,
11:38with
11:39gratitude,
11:39as a
11:40very
11:41specific
11:41wave
11:42that is
11:43regular,
11:44it is
11:45wide.
11:46And what
11:47happens when
11:47we reach a
11:48certain level
11:49is that
11:50that curve
11:51of the
11:51heart rate
11:52variability
11:52will create
11:55a phenomenon
11:57called
11:57heart-brain
11:58coherence.
11:59so the
12:00heart-brain
12:01and
12:02the
12:03the
12:04the
12:04the
12:04so what
12:05happens
12:05is that
12:06the
12:07the curve
12:07of the
12:08heart rate
12:09variability
12:09is
12:12as the
12:13same
12:13shape
12:14of the
12:14brain waves
12:16in our
12:16neurocortex.
12:17This is
12:18called
12:18heart-brain
12:19coherence.
12:19It's a
12:20resonance
12:21between the
12:21heart
12:22within
12:22the brain.
12:24When that
12:24happens
12:25then is
12:26when we
12:26get into
12:26the brain.
12:27But
12:27if we
12:28have an
12:29emotional
12:29reaction
12:30such as
12:31irritation,
12:32frustration,
12:33anger,
12:34then the
12:34curve
12:35of the
12:36heart-brain
12:37variability
12:37will change
12:38will destroy
12:39the
12:40conditions.
12:41So
12:41actually we
12:42enter in
12:43the state
12:45that allows
12:45this expression
12:46of our best
12:47potential
12:48only when
12:49our heart
12:50is connected
12:51with a
12:52certain level
12:53of emotion
12:55we are able
12:55to connect
12:56with I
12:58would call
12:59this higher
13:00emotion,
13:01higher
13:01sentiments,
13:02higher
13:03feeling such
13:04as love,
13:05appreciation,
13:06gratitude.
13:07It is
13:07incredible
13:08for us
13:08to see
13:09the various
13:10dimensions
13:10of how
13:11human beings
13:12operate,
13:13of how
13:14our potential
13:15is maximized.
13:16Whether you
13:17are a leader
13:17in your
13:18community,
13:18in your
13:19family,
13:19or your
13:20organization,
13:21of course
13:21a big
13:22focus for
13:23leaders
13:23is to
13:24maximize
13:24the potential
13:25of those
13:26around them.
13:28Time and
13:28time again
13:29in the
13:30seat of
13:30our beloved
13:31Prophet Muhammad
13:31we see
13:32these aspects
13:33of helping,
13:35supporting,
13:36nurturing
13:36others to
13:37become these
13:38incredible
13:38leaders.
13:39When we
13:40come back
13:40from the
13:40break,
13:41Dr. Danilo
13:42Simone will
13:42explain to
13:43us the
13:44link between
13:44heart-brain
13:45coherence
13:46and accessing
13:48aspects of
13:49spirituality.
13:50We'll see
13:51you after
13:51the break.
13:52Welcome
13:52back.
13:53Before we
13:54went on the
13:54break,
13:55Dr. Danilo
13:55Simone and
13:56Sheikh Bilal
13:56Esen spoke
13:57about the
13:58importance of
13:58the heart,
14:00spoke about
14:00the heart-set
14:01intelligences
14:02that go into
14:03allowing people
14:04to access
14:05empathy,
14:07forgiveness,
14:08the flow
14:09state,
14:10a state in
14:11which productivity,
14:13efficiency is
14:14maximized.
14:15We know
14:16this when we
14:16study the
14:17biography of
14:18our
14:18Sahaba
14:19Akram,
14:20Sayyidina Khalid
14:21bin Walid
14:21It's known
14:23that he fought
14:24between 30
14:24to 50 battles.
14:26He never
14:26lost in battle.
14:29Things happen
14:30around him,
14:31with him,
14:31and through him
14:32that has never
14:33been repeated
14:34again in history
14:35studied by some
14:36of the most
14:37qualified scholars
14:38globally.
14:40Dr. Danilo
14:41Simone,
14:42tell us about
14:42how having
14:43flow state
14:45or being able
14:46to access energy
14:47which allows you
14:48to do things
14:48that you can
14:49do with ease
14:50but other people
14:51find it difficult
14:52to do.
14:53How are they
14:53related to people
14:54being able to
14:55access a higher
14:56order, a higher
14:58being about
14:59themselves?
15:00Well, actually,
15:02as we were
15:04saying,
15:04flow state is
15:05possible
15:06without some
15:07specific conditions.
15:09And one of
15:10these conditions
15:11is to live
15:12like a higher
15:13emotional state.
15:14So, for example,
15:16love will
15:17determine,
15:18will create
15:19the condition
15:19to enter
15:20into a flow state.
15:23So,
15:23loving someone
15:25will create
15:27this condition
15:28or being
15:29grateful
15:30for something
15:32will create
15:32this condition.
15:34So,
15:34what else do
15:35we know?
15:36We know that
15:37when conditions
15:38are created
15:39something happens
15:40in our brain
15:41and in our,
15:43let's say,
15:45endocrine system.
15:48So,
15:48some neurotransmitters
15:50are released,
15:51some hormones
15:52are released.
15:53So,
15:53the chemical
15:54of our brain
15:56changes
15:57when we are
15:58into a flow state.
16:00Now,
16:01this chemical
16:03transformation
16:04leads into
16:06a different
16:08way of
16:09organizing,
16:11different brain
16:12areas.
16:13So,
16:13it's just like
16:14our brain
16:15starts functioning
16:16in a different
16:18way.
16:19And the
16:19organization
16:20of the
16:20different neural
16:21systems
16:22allows
16:23the expression
16:24of different
16:24intelligences.
16:26So,
16:27the chemicals
16:28that is
16:28related to
16:29the flow state
16:30seems that
16:32is related
16:33to some
16:34specific
16:34spiritual
16:37experiences,
16:39to some
16:40specific qualities
16:41such as
16:41ability
16:42to really
16:43foresight,
16:44to look
16:46into the future,
16:48to have
16:49more
16:49intuition,
16:51to have
16:51like a deeper
16:52comprehension
16:53of reality,
16:55even behind,
16:57deeper comprehension
16:58of reality
16:59beyond
17:00appearance.
17:02So,
17:02how this happens,
17:04we don't know
17:05yet.
17:06But definitely
17:07there are,
17:09as Shaq Bilal
17:09was mentioning
17:10before,
17:11there's a lot
17:12of information
17:13that comes
17:14from the
17:15aggregation
17:17of neurons
17:18that's been
17:18discovered
17:19in the heart
17:21and the brain.
17:24And the number
17:24of information
17:25that goes
17:26from the heart
17:27to the brain
17:28is definitely
17:29higher than
17:30the information
17:31that from the brain
17:33comes to the heart.
17:33So it seems
17:34it's the heart
17:35that is telling
17:36the brain
17:37how to work.
17:38And when it works
17:39in a specific way
17:40into a flow state
17:41that is triggered
17:43by a higher
17:45emotional state,
17:46then create
17:47condition
17:48for spiritual
17:48experience
17:49where you have
17:50access
17:50to qualities,
17:53to abilities
17:55you normally
17:56don't have.
17:57It's almost like
17:59we feel
18:00before we think.
18:02We feel more
18:03than we think.
18:05I guess,
18:05Shaikh Bilal,
18:06these are so
18:07congruent,
18:08so aligned
18:09with the lessons
18:10in our deen,
18:12lessons in our religion
18:13which consistently,
18:15repeatedly
18:16talk about,
18:17as you mentioned,
18:18a moment's ability.
18:20Someone with
18:21great marafa,
18:23great knowledge,
18:24somebody who's
18:26able to see
18:26things,
18:27feel things,
18:28Shaikh Bilal,
18:28that the normal
18:30human condition
18:32does not allow
18:33them,
18:34does not allow
18:34others to access.
18:36You mentioned
18:36the hadith of
18:37our Prophet Muhammad
18:38Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam.
18:39Shaikh Bilal,
18:40tell us,
18:41what have you seen
18:42in working
18:43with so many people
18:44in transformation?
18:45What role
18:47does this
18:48flow state
18:49balance,
18:51congruence,
18:52and having
18:52the right
18:52heart play
18:53in transformation
18:55of people?
18:56I was listening
18:57to this
18:57flow state
18:59and the beautiful
19:00explanation
19:00that Dr. Delano
19:01was giving
19:02as to
19:03how it helps
19:05one achieve,
19:05perform at a level
19:07that is above
19:08and beyond
19:09what normal
19:10people can achieve
19:11because of
19:12the various aspects
19:13that were explained.
19:14but all
19:16I could be reminded
19:17of when I was
19:18listening to this
19:18was a hadith of
19:20Qudsi.
19:20Hadith of Qudsi
19:21for the benefit
19:23is the
19:24words of Allah
19:26subhanahu wa ta'ala
19:26which are not
19:27in Quran,
19:28which are not Quran
19:29but are narrated
19:30by the Prophet.
19:32So they are
19:32words of Allah
19:33subhanahu wa ta'ala
19:34narrated by the Prophet.
19:35So they are actually
19:36the words of Allah.
19:37So that's hadith of Qudsi.
19:39And one of the
19:40hadith of Qudsi,
19:41I'm seeing it
19:42in a different light
19:43or flow state
19:43now and you tell
19:45me if this
19:45sounds the same
19:46to you.
19:48Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala
19:49says that
19:50my servant
19:55draws near to me
19:56through nawafil,
19:58through extra,
19:59the things which
20:00are over and above
20:01obligated on him.
20:03So he does
20:04extra deeds
20:06and he draws
20:06near to me
20:07till a time
20:08that I start
20:10loving him.
20:10and when I
20:12start loving him
20:13then I am
20:14his eyes
20:15through which
20:16he sees.
20:17I am his
20:18ears
20:19through which
20:19he hears.
20:20I am his
20:21hands
20:22through which
20:23he acts
20:24and I am
20:25his feet
20:25through which
20:26he walks.
20:28So he,
20:30the believer
20:31attains
20:32that level.
20:34I mean,
20:34what does that
20:34mean?
20:35The ulama
20:35explain that,
20:36the muhaddisin,
20:37they explain that
20:37this means that
20:39he gets such
20:40blessing and
20:41protection from
20:42Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala
20:43that whatever
20:44he sees,
20:45whatever he
20:45hears,
20:46whatever he
20:47acts and
20:48wherever he
20:48goes,
20:49he does things
20:50as Allah
20:52subhanahu wa ta'ala
20:52wants him.
20:53Number one.
20:54Number two,
20:55all of these
20:55facilities of
20:56sight,
20:57hearing,
20:58hands and
20:59walking,
21:01all of them
21:02help him
21:03achieve the
21:04best of what
21:05needs to be
21:06achieved.
21:06flow state?
21:08Flow state.
21:09Flow state.
21:09With ease.
21:10With ease.
21:11Other people
21:12find the same
21:13thing difficult
21:13to do.
21:14Some people
21:15in the same
21:16condition,
21:16in the same
21:16environment,
21:18might find that
21:19hard,
21:20heavy,
21:21yet it's
21:22easy in the
21:22flow state.
21:23I would say
21:24don't just
21:24other people,
21:26but us,
21:28when we are
21:29in flow state,
21:30can find things
21:31very easy to do
21:32when we are
21:33not.
21:33So when we are
21:33not connected
21:34with certain
21:35level,
21:36we are not
21:37able to do
21:39it.
21:39So it's just
21:40not I can
21:42do it,
21:43others can't,
21:45but myself,
21:46if I'm not
21:47connected to a
21:47certain level
21:48of emotional
21:50and spiritual,
21:53can do.
21:54And Umar,
21:55this,
21:56in achieving
21:57this flow state,
21:59I was very
21:59intrigued to
22:01learn that
22:03it's the
22:04heart rate
22:07that then
22:07affects the
22:08brain that
22:09triggers certain
22:11hormones which
22:13basically help
22:14you achieve this
22:15among other
22:16things that
22:16the doctor
22:17explained.
22:18But when I
22:20spoke about
22:21the heart rate
22:22coming at a
22:23certain level,
22:25what the
22:26Quran has
22:26taught us and
22:27Rasulullah
22:27has taught us
22:28it's through
22:29zikr,
22:30it's through
22:30remembrance of
22:31Allah subhanahu
22:31wa ta'ala.
22:32And there is
22:33zikr through
22:34our tongue,
22:35that's one zikr,
22:37and there is
22:37another zikr
22:37which is purely
22:38in the heart.
22:41It is purely
22:42in the heart.
22:43And Rasulullah
22:47when he,
22:50even before he
22:51attained the
22:52status of
22:52prophethood,
22:54he would
22:54spend this
22:55time in
22:57takhliyyah,
22:57in seclusion,
22:59where he
23:02would spend
23:03the time in
23:03remembrance,
23:05and that
23:06is what
23:06helped him
23:07elevate to a
23:08point where
23:09he could take
23:10on the big
23:11responsibility of
23:12leadership,
23:12which requires
23:14one to have
23:15that foresight,
23:16that vision.
23:17That foresight
23:18and that vision
23:19then,
23:21you know,
23:23was visible
23:24in everything
23:26that Rasulullah
23:26did.
23:27Many years
23:28later after
23:29prophethood,
23:31Rasulullah
23:31is in
23:33Medina Munawra
23:34with his
23:35companions,
23:36and they are
23:36deciding to
23:37come back,
23:38do Umrah.
23:39They come
23:39to do Umrah,
23:41the Kuffar
23:42and Makkah,
23:42they stopped
23:43them.
23:44And at that
23:44point in
23:45time,
23:46despite everybody
23:48else around
23:49him telling
23:50him that,
23:51no, let's
23:51put up a
23:52fight,
23:52let's not
23:53give in to
23:53the demands
23:54of the
23:54Kuffar,
23:55let's go
23:56ahead and
23:56with what
23:57we intended
23:57to do.
23:58Rasulullah
23:59signs an
24:00agreement,
24:01which we
24:01come to
24:02know as
24:02Sulayah
24:02Debiya,
24:04which on
24:04the face
24:05of it
24:05looked like
24:06complete
24:06defeat.
24:08But Rasulullah
24:09had this
24:10vision,
24:10has this
24:11foresight,
24:12to know
24:12that signing
24:14this now
24:14will eventually
24:16help elevate
24:17Muslims to a
24:18level where
24:18they will be
24:19able to come
24:19back as
24:20conquerors into
24:21Makkah.
24:21We'll talk
24:22about this
24:22much later,
24:24but perfect
24:25example of
24:25the foresight
24:26that comes
24:27to you when
24:28your heart
24:29is grounded
24:31and is in
24:32its place
24:32and is
24:33operating at
24:34that higher
24:35level of,
24:37or is
24:37operating in
24:38sync with
24:39your brain.
24:41In this
24:41series, we
24:42will continue
24:42to be guided
24:43and taught
24:44by neuroscientists,
24:46people who
24:47have studied
24:48why human
24:49beings behave
24:50the way they
24:51do.
24:51How do
24:52we behave
24:52and what
24:53are those
24:54hormones,
24:55neurotransmitters,
24:56as well as
24:57energy sets
24:58which allow
24:59leaders to
25:00transform not
25:02only their
25:02behavior, but
25:04then impact
25:04those around
25:05them.
25:06In this
25:07episode, we
25:08learned the
25:08importance of
25:09being able to
25:10operate at a
25:11higher level,
25:12access this
25:13flow state,
25:13which is only
25:14possible with
25:15great balance.
25:17It's only
25:17possible with
25:18the mind not
25:19being cluttered.
25:20and it's
25:21possible.
25:22When you
25:23listen, not
25:24with your
25:24ears, but
25:25you listen
25:26with your
25:26heart.
25:27We've taught
25:28this in
25:28leadership,
25:29boardrooms,
25:30conferences,
25:31all over the
25:31world, that
25:32the greatest
25:33leaders are
25:33not those who
25:35when they
25:35listen, they
25:36listen with an
25:37intent to
25:37reply, but
25:38those that
25:39listen with
25:39an intent to
25:40understand.
25:41And it
25:41doesn't stop
25:42there.
25:43Then they're
25:43able to truly
25:44put themselves
25:45in the
25:45shoes of
25:46others.
25:47Then they're
25:47able to
25:48transform those
25:49around them.
25:50Our prophet
25:51Muhammad
25:51transformed those
25:53around him.
25:55In the next
25:56episode of
25:57Sira,
25:58Science and
25:59Leadership,
25:59we will
26:00continue to
26:00learn more
26:01about accessing
26:02these high
26:03levels of
26:04awareness.
26:06While we
26:06desire to
26:07become like
26:08our prophet,
26:09we can emulate
26:10the qualities,
26:11attributes that
26:12we see in
26:13as Sira.
26:14We look
26:14forward to
26:15seeing you
26:15in the next
26:16episode.
26:17Salaam
26:17Alaikum.
