00:00Kanye West has pulled out of his headlining Coachella set.
00:03A source confirmed the news to Billboard.
00:05TMZ was the first to report the story.
00:08Reps for West and Coachella have not yet responded to Billboard and The Hollywood Reporter's
00:12requests for comment.
00:13West's Coachella appearance this year was already shrouded in controversy.
00:17A Change.org petition called for the star's removal from the festival lineup in light
00:21of his public behavior toward ex-wife Kim Kardashian and her boyfriend Pete Davidson.
00:25The petition has since garnered more than 49,000 signatures and counting.
00:30West did not issue a statement regarding the petition, but threatened a pull out of Coachella
00:34if fellow headliner Billie Eilish did not apologize to Travis Scott, whom he planned to bring out
00:38on stage during his set.
00:40The rapper had alleged that Eilish dissed Scott in concert footage that showed the happier
00:44than ever singer helping out a fan in need of an inhaler.
00:47She said, quote, I wait for the people to be okay before I keep going.
00:51West perceived that to be a diss to Scott in light of the Astroworld Festival tragedy where
00:5510 people died.
00:56Eilish later responded to Yeh, writing, quote, literally never said a thing about Travis,
01:01was just helping a fan.
01:03Coachella is set to take place April 15th through 17th and April 22nd through 24th.
