00:18national budget. The Department of Foreign Affairs confirms it has canceled the passports

00:22of Hari Roque, Kasi Ong, and other suspects in the Pogo scandal. The Bureau of Internal

00:28Revenue temporarily suspends all its field audits following allegations of an extortion scheme.

00:53First District Representative Sandro Marcos was responsible for 50.9 billion pesos in

01:00budget insertions. This comes days after Ko linked Sandro's father, President Ferdinand

01:05Marcos Jr., and his uncle, former House Speaker Martin Romualdez, to alleged budget insertions

01:11at the bicameral conference committee. Ko also claims Sandro threatened to remove him from

01:16his post and file multiple cases against him, allegedly because Ko could not accommodate an

01:218 billion peso insertion.

01:35Sandro denies the allegations. He says, quote,

01:39Anyone can sit in front of a camera from abroad and spew lies. The statements from the newly

01:44crowned champion of the DDS, or Duterte diehard supporters, Cabal, former Congressman Zaldico,

01:50are frankly as fantastical as they are false.

01:53Sandro adds, Ko was removed as House Appropriations Committee Chairman because members caught wind

01:59of his insatiable greed and corruption.

02:01The Department of Foreign Affairs confirms it has cancelled the passport of former Duterte

02:07spokesperson Harry Roque. This following rumors that he had been arrested in the Netherlands.

02:13DFA spokesperson Angelica Escalona says the passports of the following were cancelled.

02:18Herminio Roque Jr., Catherine Cassandra Lee Ong, Ronnylin Baterna, Mercedes Macabaza,

02:24and Dennis Laxon-Cunanan. This means if they are abroad, they may be deported to the Philippines.

02:31The PASIC Regional Trial Court earlier resolved to cancel the passports of these personalities

02:35tagged in the Pogo Scam Hub scandal. In a post on social media, Roque dismissed speculation that

02:42he had been arrested and said he was scheduled to fly to Vienna on November 25. The Philippines

02:47had earlier requested Interpol to issue a red notice against Roque and the other suspects.

02:54The Bureau of Internal Revenue temporarily suspends all its field audits and related operations.

03:00This following calls to investigate an alleged extortion scheme within the agency.

03:05BIR Commissioner Charlie Mendoza says the suspension covers the issuance of letters of authority and

03:11mission orders. LOAs are formal documents that authorize BIR revenue officers to examine a

03:17taxpayer's books of accounts and records for a designated period. Meanwhile, MOs authorize revenue

03:23officers to conduct surveillance and inventory-taking activities on business operations.

03:27Mendoza describes the suspension as a necessary move to protect taxpayers and strengthen the

03:33BIR's internal processes. The suspension comes just hours after Senator Irwin Tulfo filed the Senate

03:39resolution directing the Blue Ribbon Committee to probe the alleged extortion scheme. While Tulfo

03:44welcomes the BIR's suspension, he said the involved tax officials and personnel must still be held

03:49accountable for their actions. Here's a fact check from Rappler. The Department of Education has not banned

03:57Christmas parties in schools. A Facebook page named Nagkakaisang Pilipino posted a fake newscast video on

04:04November 21. In it, an AI-generated news anchor is shown saying Christmas parties will be banned in all

04:11schools across the country. As of writing, the video has more than 1 million views, 18,000 reactions,

04:171,600 comments, and 6,400 shares. On November 23, the department issued a public advisory on its

04:25official Facebook page debunking the circulating post. In November 2024, DepEd instructed schools and

04:31offices to scale down Christmas celebrations, not cancel them.

04:35The Cebugay Wetland Nature Reserve has been named the newest East Asian Australasian Flyway

04:42Partnership Flyway Network site. This recognition places Zamwanga, Cebugay Province at the forefront of

04:48international migratory bird conservation. Flyway network sites are globally recognized critical

04:54habitats for millions of migratory birds traveling along the East Asian Australasian Flyway. It is one of

05:01the most threatened biodiverse flyways in the world. Zamwanga, Cebugay, Governor Anhofer says, the

05:07conferment opens doors for better local conservation and sustainable ecotourism initiatives.

05:12Only wetlands that meet strict ecological criteria, such as supporting rare endangered migratory species, are

05:19admitted into the network. Before this recognition, the area was designated as a Ramsar site, which means it's covered by

05:26the Ramsar Convention, an international treaty for the conservation and sustainable use of wetlands.
