00:00Selma Blair will receive the Equity and Entertainment Award at the Hollywood Reporter's annual Women in Entertainment Gala on December 8th for increasing the visibility of people with disabilities in Hollywood.
00:10Blair's long-standing career includes iconic roles in pop culture classics such as Cruel Intentions, Legally Blonde, and The Sweetest Thing.
00:17In addition to her acting career, Blair was the subject of the documentary Introducing Selma Blair, which chronicles her courageous journey of personal acceptance and resilience after being diagnosed with multiple sclerosis.
00:29with the goal of assisting others who face similar challenges.

00:40Blair's perseverance and tremendous talent are just a few of the contributing factors to her earning THR's prestigious award.
00:46The gala will also see Jennifer Garner shine a spotlight on THR's Women in Entertainment Mentorship Program, a joint venture between THR and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Los Angeles.
00:56Garner will be joined by Tessa Thompson to present graduates of the Mentorship Program with nearly $1 million in university scholarships.
01:03Plus, the event will include Nicole Hannah-Jones, Pulitzer Prize-winning reporter for the New York Times Magazine and creator of the 1619 Project.

01:13Hannah-Jones was recognized as one of the 100 Most Influential People of 2021 by Time Magazine.
01:18It was previously announced that Jennifer Aniston will be honored with the Sherry Lansing Leadership Award at the gala.
