00:00so over here you can see that i got this data and if i were to actually go ahead and then type in
00:10something then it freely allows me to change out whatever i want right here just like this
00:16but let's say i want to go ahead and protect out some of these columns right here if i want
00:21to protect out everything i can simply go around over here onto the review tab click on protect
00:27seat and here you can see that select log cells and unlock cells are selected so i can simply type in
00:32a password like one two three let me type in one two three again and press ok and now if i were to
00:38make any changes it does not allow me to make any changes in any column or any cell but i don't want
00:45that i just want to protect let's say for example two of these columns right here in that case i can
00:50unprotect seat and type in the password right here so i can go ahead and freely edit it out and now
00:55i can actually go around and select all of the columns by clicking on this button right here
01:02and i can right click and then go to format cells once i do that i can go ahead onto protection and
01:08uncheck the lock so that everything is unlocked but i want to go ahead and lock these two out so i can
01:14select these columns right here or you can even select out the rows as you wish or even the individual
01:20cells if you want to but in my case i'm going to select out both of these columns right click and then
01:25go to format cells once i do that under protection i'm going to select logged right here and i'm going
01:31to press ok right here just like this so now i'm going to go to protect sheet and type in the password
01:37once more as well just like this so these are the logged cells that i selected so if i were to make any
01:43changes here then it does not let me make any changes but this i haven't logged up so if i were to
01:49make any changes right here then it still allows me to make changes so that is how you can go ahead
01:55and protect and unprotect our sheet inside of microsoft excel so hope you found this video useful
