00:00Cozy atmospheres, beautiful graphics, soothing music, and a unique story are all part of what
00:06make a good puzzle game, and in the case of Cocoon by first-time devs Geometric Interactive
00:12and published by Annapurna Interactive, all those elements come together in harmony in
00:17what can only be described as a piece of art. According to Polygon, it's difficult to say
00:23with precision what Cocoon is about. Metamorphosis, perhaps, but also stasis, order and disorder.
00:29Cocoon's narrative is evocative but elusive. Everything is gesture and implication. It's the
00:35rare game that leaves this much room for interpretation, a deliberate ambiguity that
00:41complements Cocoon's satisfying but linear puzzles. GameSpot reports the game uses just five buttons,
00:48one for each of the four cardinal directions and one to interact, and most structures you encounter
00:55are powered on by inserting an orb into the proper place. However, what's theoretically simple can
01:01quickly grow complex, for each orb is an entire world you can enter and explore. If you're in the
01:07market for something fantastical, don't overlook this title. IGN writes that Cocoon not only presents
01:13a mind-bending journey through the cosmos via fascinating worlds within worlds puzzle mechanics
01:20that beg you to delve into another layer deeper, but an interesting take on the repetition of work,
01:27life and being a part of a bigger picture.
